this one was really good. flower taste was not too overpowering

★★★★★

The notes of chocolate and strawberry come through! Great dessert tea!

This is one of my favorite teas! It tastes like a chocolate cover strawberry. It has just the right blend of berries and chocolate, so neither are too powerful. Great with a splash or milk. Naturally sweet, so it doesn't need sugar.

★★★★★

wonderful smooth taste of chocolate and strawberries. great taste and less calories.

★★★★★

This smells like candy and tastes so decadent! Just like the description.

★★★★☆

I originally had this on Valentines day in the sample pack a friend had given me, and I ordered more. It was like having a chocolate covered strawberry for dessert, without the calories. It's great for me on a night when I want something sweet, but have had a heavy calorie day already.

Very tasty, I like how the fruitiness of the strawberry balances with the richness of the chocolate and the black tea flavor

Taste great hot or iced with a splash of milk. I will repurchase.

OMG THIS IS THE BEST HOLIDAY TEA THAT IVE EVER HAD!!!

This is honestly my new favorite tea! I've had other strawberry chocolate teas, but they usually have a very strong fake chocolate smell and flavor (kind of like chocolate candles) that I'm really not a fan of. This one has a hint of real chocolate flavor with a good strawberry flavor and it's so delicious. Definitely a dessert tea!

★★★★★

This has been a longstanding favorite of mine. It's such a delicate and complex blend of chocolate, strawberry, and rose all without being overpowering.

Good, found the strawberry to be rather artificial tasting but enjoyable

★★★★☆

I would recommend adding a touch of sugar to bring out the favor in this tea. On its own the chocolate and fruit comes out a little muddled and hidden by the black tea, with a bit of sweet the more delicate flavors spring to life in your cup.

At first I just tasted a slightly sweeter black tea that had hints of flavor. My mom said she could taste a rose aftertaste. About 5-7 minutes later I could taste more of the other flavors. I tried this plain today but would be interested in adding some cream or sugar to see if the flavors come out more. The positive side about the flavors being mild is my mom - who doesn’t like overly sweet teas- liked it too.

Meh. Based on the description, I wanted to love this tea but you barely taste the strawberry and chocolate. Those notes are very very subtle and it tastes simply like black tea.

I really liked this tea! I was like a chocolate covered strawberry. I added a splash of creamer to cut the bitterness of the cocoa, and it was delicious. The floral notes do get a little lost among all those other strong flavors though.

Very flavorful of the chocolate and berries, a great tea to enjoy in the afternoon

★★★★★

Loved this communi-tea so much that we ordered extra today. It will take the place of hot chocolate on chilly nights. Very delicious strawberry chocolate flavor. Loved it!

★★★★★

It was delicious! I didn’t love the chocolate/ too chemical-ly. But with a splash of cream it all rounded out and was soft and sweet

★★★★☆

Although my CommuniTEA packet of Valentines tea didn't have any strawberry pieces or chocolate chips, the aroma and flavor was present. I did not taste the rose petals or any bitter ness from the black tea. Lovely sweetened with a little honey.

My packet tasted very chocolatey. The strawberry flavor didn’t come forward until after I added cream, which helped amp up the flavors!

Upon opening the communiTEA packet, the first thing I noticed was the strong smell of chocolate. In the glass, this tastes alot like a tootsie roll with a hint of strawberry. This was interesting to try but I would not order it for myself.

★★★★☆

I take the blame for the bitterness I experienced, I got distracted and forgot to pull the tea. I think some cream and sugar make this very enjoyable. I don't particularly enjoy chocolate flavor in my tea, but I won't take stars away for personal preference.

Despite finding no chocolate chips or strawberry pieces in my packet, this tea was very pleasant. There were nice mild chocolate and strawberry flavors. There were a lot of rose petals, but no soapy or floral flavors came through. Since the flavors were mild, the black tea still comes through strong, which I liked. Part of the February 2021 CommuniTEA box. Happy Valentine’s Day! What a rich and creamy flavor, super indulgent and delicious. I’m here for it!

★★★☆☆

My CommuniTea packet had a light strawberry scent to it. The tea therein was littered with pretty rose petals, but it sorely lacked in cocoa nibs, chocolate chips, & strawberries. With no actual chocolate product or strawberries to carry the flavor my tea was rather bland, not even sugar could amp up the strawberry. So, in the end I had a vaguely flavored, malty black tea. Not the worst, but not what I was looking for. I chucked in some of my own cocoa nibs for the second steep, but that only helped a bit.

Rich dark chocolate and strawberries make for a delicious tea especially with a bit of sugar and steamed milk. The rose is noticeable, but doesn't overpower.

★★★☆☆

This tea was okay for me. Chocolate teas tend to be too bitter for me but the strawberries helped balance out.

★★★★☆

This was a nice black tea with notes of rose and chocolate. I did pick up any strawberry flavors but it is possible that I didn't have any in the packet I had. Over all it was a nice tea.

★★★★☆

Not bad. Not thing I would buy but it was a nice cup of tea. Adding a little creamer as someone suggested really didn’t change anything for me.

I steeped this tea at a lower temperature than recommended of 195 degrees for 3 minutes, and really enjoyed it. While the majority of the flavor was black tea and rose, I still got some of the tartness of the strawberry and a bit of that chocolate flavor. Definitely a bit astringent, but I expect that from the flavored black teas I have.

This black tea is fantastic, and it has been added to my wish list. I brewed it at 200°F for 3 minutes, and there's zero bitterness. We tasted strawberries and chocolate, both of which were nowhere near too sweet. Definitely a winner and should be considered throughout the year.

I personally like the look fo the rose in the tea however I do not like rose in my tea! So I took out the roses! :) but I can see how they make it to
Be a Valentine tea. As roses and chocolate just go together.

This tea sounds really wonderful when you look at the ingredients - who couldn't love chocolate dipped strawberries? I have discovered unfortunately that rose petals in my tea are NOT my thing. They give the tea a really gross taste to me. Thankfully they are reasonably mild in this tea, but I can still taste them. I also can't really taste the strawberry flavor. I guess it's a very mellow flavor, easily overpowered by the chocolate. I am certainly enjoying my bag, but I'm not sure I will buy this again. I will probably just blend my own chocolate and strawberry teas together so I don't have to deal with the rose petals.

I didn't personally get any strawberry flavor from this, but the hint of chocolate and the floral from the rose petals was right up my alley.

This aromatic tea smells deliciously intoxicating. It's medley looks beautiful and adding agave made it taste just that much better! Wonderful evening tea.

★★★★☆

A perfect pick for today's CommuniTEA. My sample tasted like a slightly rosy black tea with maybe a slight hint of chocolate. No strawberry flavor was present. My cup was a bit bitter even when steeping at a lower temperature. If I try it again, I'll steep for a shorter time too. Sugar didn't change it too much. The flavor didn't come through in the resteep, but that may have been my own mistake with low temperature and time.

I was pleasantly surprised by today's Valentines tea! I am not a fan of chocolate covered strawberries, and after seeing so many reviews mentioning them in relation to today's CommuniTEA sample, my expectations were low.
The scent I got when I opened the package reminded me of how 1980s Strawberry Shortcake dolls smelled - like sweet strawberries, cocoa powder, and a hint of plastic. Despite the whiff of nostalgia, I was even more dubious of the tea.
Based on others' reviews, I added a bit of sweetener to my steeper and hoped for the best. Steeped at 212⁰ for 3 minutes.
Much to my surprise, this tea was DELICIOUS! It was smooth and the chocolate taste was prominent with a hint of strawberry. I didn't taste any rose in my cup, despite having 4 petals in my packet. This was a delightful blend, perfect for Valentine's Day!

The chocolate notes are far more prominent than strawberry, though it's not a bad tea overall.

I am usually not a fan of black tea because I cannot stand the bitterness of it. This smells like dark chocolate. And the bitterness is one I am able to get past. This is a dessert black tea. And it is pretty good without completly getting rid of the black tea base flavor. The entire time it reminded me of dark chocolate. Would recommend trying. Not an everyday drinker, but it's something to try out

Nice strawberry flavor coming through, even though it took a minute. Unfortunately, my daughter spoiled me for chocolate-covered strawberry things a couple years ago when she sent me an order of Sherri's Berries. With that being said, this tea has an absolutely lovely aftertaste. (3 mins @ 212 F, 2 drops EZ-Sweetz, a splash of half-and-half)

This tea is unbelievably indulgent! The bright tartness of the strawberry leavens and plays off of the rich chocolate in a way that enhances them both. The flavor improves significantly on cooling, allowing the full force of this dessert tea to show up. It's hard for me to pick a favorite between this and the 'ripe for romance' chocolate-raspberry tea. They're both excellent choices! (2m30s @ 200 F, 2 drops EZ-Sweetz, 2 tsp half-and-half)

On opening the CommuniTEA packet I noted visually and on the nose lots of rose petals, some cocoa nibs but no strawberries. I brewed at 195 F x 3 min to attempt to avoid bitterness. Even after adding 1/2 tsp Monkfruit sweetener and a splash of heavy whipping cream the bitterness was still apparent. A second brew with the same time, temp and additions gave me a wonderfully creamy milk chocolate cup of tea. I would have preferred it to have less cocoa nibs and more strawberries though.

There is so much flavor in this tea! The strong note for me is the cocoa. It’s very forward in the tea itself and then really lingers.

Smells incredible! Requires a bit of a longer steep to get the flavor.

I received this tea as part of the CommuniTEA box. Therefore, because it's such a small sample, I know it's probably going to be skewed a little bit. Alright, review proper time:

I opened up the tea, and was immediately hint with that sorta artificial chocolate flavor like tootsie rolls. The tea looks fairly standard black-tea fair, with some rose petals in. I don't see any chocolate chips or cocoa nips, but it's very likely I missed it as part of the black tea due to similar colors, but we'll see. I certainly didn't see any strawberries.

After brewing for three minutes with 212 degree water, the smell of the strawberries start to come out more strongly, though the tea still has the overwhelming scent of tootsie rolls. Not entirely unpleasant, just...not entirely the chocolate that I'd like. It's a deep amber color, similar to all black tea. Upon tasting, the artificial chocolate flavor takes center stage, and the strawberries act as a vaguely fruity aftertaste towards the end. Not unpleasant, but certainly not a chocolate flavor that I'd like. After adding some sugar, the flavors balance a little more. The strawberry comes out, the chocolate takes a bit of a step back, and it's a little more pleasant.

Overall...it's an okay tea. I don't mind it too much, but I don't think I'll be running out to buy it any time soon. I'm sure that it would be better as part of a larger package, and perhaps then I'd get some more of the cocoa nibs and chocolate and strawberries to balance the blend a bit better, but I don't feel any particular drive to taste more of it.

Not a big fan of chocolate in my tea or on my strawberries, but I gave this a go and was pleasantly surprised.

I used a lower temperature (190F) so the tea didn't get too astringent. After a 3 minute steep, the color was a lovely dark reddish brown and the smell was like a freshly-opened box of chocolates. The first sip was a yummy burst of sweet strawberry and dark chocolate. The chocolate is rich with a slight bitterness, well-balanced by the juiciness of strawberry. I found that drinking too quickly caused the strawberry to get lost in the sea of chocolate, so I made sure to let my palate rest between each sip. The rose petals add a prettiness to the tea leaves, even if their flavor is hard to find in the brewed tea.

This tea was almost too chocolatey for me, but the strawberry really comes through to save the day. It doesn't strictly NEED cream or sugar (and I enjoy the cocoa bitterness), but you should always treat yourself on Valentine's Day!

My communiTEA was amazing this morning, a lovely chocolate covered strawberry tea. It had a nice pick me up with the caffeine, the black tea definitely came through in flavor blending with the chocolate and strawberry. I needed to add a little cream and sugar to it to make it extra creamy and to help smooth out the sharp black tea flavor.
