This tea is a sweet indulgence! Decadent chocolate and strawberry flavors will make you feel like you're cheating on your diet!
Happy Valentine's Day in a cup. The smell and taste was just like chocolate covered strawberries 🍓 without the cost, hassle or calories. The taste was amazing.
A really nice tea, holds up well to a second steeping. I really like it with splash of milk, or if your feeling fancy some frothed vanilla milk and cute pink sprinkles.
This tea smells great in the packet with rich chocolate and sweet strawberry aromas. There were quite a few rose petals in my sample but I couldn't really smell or taste them. The flavor is lighter than expected, with a rounded chocolate flavor as the base note and some swirls of strawberry in the finish. The black tea base is too bitter for me on its own, so it was better with some sugar and a splash of cream. Overall I enjoyed it and it's a very fitting blend for Valentine's day.
I like it, but it gets bitter really quickly, so don't steep more than 2-3 minutes.
If you close your eyes and smell the tea it smells like a rich hot chocolate. However, there were no strawberry or chocolate chips in my pouch so the flavor was on the lighter side. I’m sure depending on the number of chocolate and strawberry pieces the tea may be sweeter or more dessert like. I had several rose pieces that were fun to watch uncurl and to see the colors of the pedals. I enjoyed sipping this tea on a slow moving day.
Wow! Chocolate-covered strawberries in my cup this morning! Upon opening the CommuniTEA packet I smelled chocolate truffles. Steeped at 212F for 3 minutes. I added almond milk and sugar, and it tastes amazing! Too sweet and decadent for having very often, but a very nice Valentine’s treat.
This is Valentine’s Day in a cup! Imagine liquefying chocolate covered strawberries, then drinking it. That’s exactly what this tea tastes like, and it Is delicious! The rose petals add a very soft floral hint to it. A small spoonful of sugar really turned this into a decedent treat. I was able to get two delicious steeps out of this, with little to no bitterness.
My packet of valentines tea had an abundance of rose petals (darn- dislike those) and none of the other ingredients I was searching for. nevertheless, this brewed up nicely, almost no bitterness, but a suggestive taste of strawberry and lingering behind that the cocoa- chocolate note. I did not taste the rose petals, thankfully, as I find it can overly perfume the tea. This was a lovely tea, that is lush and desertlike. I had it straight, with no additions and found it yummy as is, but can only imagine this can be played with to achieve different results by adding milks/creams and a variety of sweeteners.
I didn't see any strawberry pieces in my packet, but there is a bit of a strawberry flavor still present. The smell is very much like chocolate covered strawberries. The flavor of the brew is slightly bitter with a light hint of chocolate and strawberry. I find the bitterness pleasant, though.
I didn't get much strawberry but that could've been just my packet. I got chocolate and I made a latte with it. I sampled this Tea as part of the CommuniTEA February Box.
This was much better than I expected it to be. I’m not usually a chocolate tea fan but this was a perfect way to start Valentine’s Day. Yummy.
Great tea! Goes well with Valentine’s cookies and chocolates. I like the flavors I do taste, but I’m not getting much chocolate. I taste strawberry, rose, and black tea. Tried it black, very nice. Added a bit of almond milk, it masked the flavors. Re-steeped and added honey, also very nice. I’d definitely drink it again. Probably prefer Cupid’s cup and I might try adding that to black tea sometime. Also think Aphroditea fandom tea tasted more like chocolate covered strawberries.
A lovely scene was seen inside my communiTEA packet this morning. Cocoa nibs, chocolate chips, strawberry pieces, and rose petals were preparing to mix up a batch of chocolate-covered strawberries. They seemed so happy! Pleasant chocolate and fruity aromas were noted.
I pulled the steep when I noticed some slight bitterness.
When hot, mild chocolate and strawberry flavors were noted. Moderate cocoa nib bitterness was present, so I added some sugar to make the nib flavors more chocolatey. Black tea tastes were not bitter.
When warm, moderate milk sweet chocolate and strawberry flavors were noted. A very smooth and milky mouthfeel was felt on my palate. The black tea provided some more chocolate goodness and made a proper base for everybody to work from. I don’t know what happened to the rose petals. I guess they wanted to spend time with their sweetie rather than work.
I had my Sweetie taste this one. She told me it definitely tasted like a chocolate-covered strawberry, but also said, “You cheapo! Where’s my real chocolate-covered strawberry!” So I commenced to haul my rear over to Kroger and make the day right. Here’s wishing you and yours a lovely Valentines Day! BTW, a second steep at four minutes proved to be pretty weak in the flavor department. (3 mins @ 190ºF, ⅜ tsp sugar)
Reviewing with the CommuniTEA this Valentine's Day: The nose of this tea is really the best part, including a complex combination of honeyed tea, chocolate, and rose essence. When I take a sip of this tea, I enjoy the sweet scent followed by the pleasantly dry and astringent ceylon tea tannins with a hint of cocoa on the finish. As the cup cools, I get a little hit of rose on the finish as well. For me the juxtaposition of the sweet scent followed by the dry tea is almost a perfect cup of black tea. Tannin bitterness is minimized by steeping at a lower temp. I steeped this tea for 2:50 minutes at 190° F.
What a nice, smooth, sweet cup! It’s not like a passionate affair, but more like a nice lingering hug (for your tongue?)
I really adored this one. A rich and bold tea base with light floral hints and an underlying sweetness with hints of dark chocolate and strawberries. Perfect for Valentine's Day.
All the players are present in this blend; however, it would have been a 5-star review with just a hint more strawberry.
If i hadn't bought earl grey moonlight recently and this was available for sale, I'd buy it. very very good sample for the CommuniTea box today.
This was a delicious treat. it smells just like a chocolate covered strawberry and the taste lives up to the aroma. Added cream and sugar which took this tea over the top.
This is so delicious! Like drinking a chocolate covered strawberry. Light strawberry flavor with a hint of chocolate. Knocked it down a star because of the rose petals that I had to pick out, as I’m not a fan of floral teas.
Today’s communiTea is a yummy black tea blend “valentine”, which paired up perfectly on this Sunday morning, Valentines Day. So, a shout out to my communiTea friends, Happy Valentines! All the ingredients appeared even a few scattered red rose petals. What a pretty loose tea blend, that actually tasted like I was really “biting” into one of those Chocolate Covered Strawberry’s in my picture today. Each sip had smooth undertone of strawberries / chocolate. Delicious alone, but on this chilly Sunday morning I indulged myself adding touch of fresh cream and tad of Adagio black tea honey. Treat yourself and try this blend, you won’t be disappointed. Side note, I liked this tea “hot” mostly because as my tea cooled, a strong scent of roses seemed to take over my cup. (I don’t mind rose in the background layers, as long as I can’t smell it while sipping my teas. steeped 3 mins @200F)
The scent of strawberry and chocolate match the taste! Well done. Happy Valentines day everyone.
The Ceylon tea made it too bitter to take more than a few sips of. I had such hope for the cocoa to come out more with a hint of sugar but it drowned it all out. All I tasted was burnt chocolate black tea.
Really like this! The strawberry isn't very prominent but the rose is really nice.
Love the aroma. It is incredibly delicious with cream and sugar. The flavours all come out.
The flavor of this tea came alive when I added a bit of cream and sugar. Now I taste the chocolate covered strawberries in my cup. That’s amore! 💝
I wanted to love this, but the base black tea is too strong and bold and bitter to blend well with the rasberries and cream. A more mild base black tea would have made it better.
I enjoyed this tea, although I always find that the chocolate teas sometimes become bitter with too much steeping. I do think the balance of the strawberry is good! I enjoyed it this Valentine's Day morning with some homemade chocolate cake pops :)
This tasted good but I really couldn’t make out the chocolate or strawberry flavors.
Very good with a smooth chocolate taste. A great after dinner treat!
Strong aroma of chocolate in my communitea packet today. I see the rose petals too. When brewed at 210 for 3mins, there is no hint of roses/strawberry, just black tea and chocolate. I may need to add cream and sugar to this tea like many drinkers suggested here. However, on its own, I’m not a huge fan of this tea.
The chocolate and strawberry in this tea are perfect complements to each other.
Oh my god, this tea is decadent! I add milk and honey and it's the perfect dessert tea. If you want a way to spoil yourself, look no further.
Very delightful! Lovely as is OR sweetened and with milk! Hits the chocolate strawberry on the nose!
this tea evokes romance and is a very wonderful tea to share with your other half.
I bought this because it is February! It is a nice festive break from normal black tea.
This is a very pleasant tea if a little sweetener is added, but it also has an odd aftertaste. Maybe that's the rose petals? I could do without the flowers, which would make it a lovely chocolate strawberry tea.
The chocolate in this turned bitter even after following the directions
A good tea when you re in the mood for something different. The strawberry and chocolate go great together.
too subtle of flavors for me, I enjoyed the idea more than the tea
Perfect valentines treat. Would purchase again and great for the month of Feb and beyond.
I love this blend. It tastes alos good with some honey and a splash milk!
This is perfect for upcoming Valentine’s Day. I love the yummy mix of chocolate and strawberry with a floral note.
Lovely, warm and just right for a mid-afternoon cuppa
I'm a big chocolate guy but not a big fruit tea or rose kinda guy. I got this to give it a shot and was most pleasantly surprised. First off, it smells heavenly. Second, its got great chocolate notes without being too overpowering of strawberry or rose (no soap flavor!). You still get those lighter flavors but the blend as a whole is quite comforting and delicious.
I like this seasonal tea so much I had to go back and order more after trying the sample size. It's a beautiful blend of tea and chocolate, which I didn't expect to like. The chocolate is very subtle. I'll enjoy this well past Valentine's Day.
I was expecting to love this tea, but unfortunately it was a bit too bitter for me, even with milk.
This is simply a treat to drink! The aroma of chocolate and strawberry is heavenly! With cream and sugar, it tastes absolutely decadent! Totally in love with this tea!
Very chocolate tea. I can taste the strawberry at the end. I feel like this tea does need a little sweetener. A good cup of tea when you need a chocolatey treat.
