Raspberry Customer Reviews

Crisp black tea with playful raspberry flavor. Candy-like aroma, jammy flavor, tangy dry finish, not too 'cheeky.'

I haven't tried this on it's own yet because I bought it purposely to mix with the peach tea. 1:1 mix and it's just like Olive Garden's peach Bellini tea... Although it's still hot at the moment. Once the weather warms up I will drink it iced and see if that changes or strengthens the flavor. Would recommend mixing with the peach!

Just as advertised and not skimpy on the actual raspberry flavor I've come to find common in other tea companies products that have rasberry.

The raspberry comes through as the tea cools. I may update my review once I make iced tea out of this. As it stands as a hot cup of tea, I can only give it a three because I love HOT tea.

This black tea's raspberry flavor is almost too overwhelming while hot. This makes a much better-iced tea. Highly recommended if you want sweet raspberry tea.

Very strong raspberry scent at first, but the taste was balanced. Good both hot or iced and it is plenty sweet on its own.

Raspberry, I ve said it before raspberry is always one of my favs and this tea delivers.

★★★★☆

I do really like this flavor. However, I actually prefer mixing it with rooibos vanilla herbal tea. It's amazing

★★★★★

A wonderful raspberry tea. Not overly fruity like other version of raspberry I've tried. Try mixing half and half with cream tea.

★★★★★

The raspberry flavor really comes out in this tea. It's wonderful.

As a fan of raspberry flavourings, I like this tea. It is very similar to the green, in the sense that I think the flavour comes out a little better when the tea is cooler. I have yet to try it iced, but I think that would work well.

Love to mix this one with almond for a juicy, nutty mix of flavours!

★★★★★

Delicious, rich fruity flavor! This tea makes a great morning treat or sweet dessert.

★★★★☆

Needs to be steeped a little longer than normal. Very berry flavor. My young daughter loves it.

★★★★★

Love this raspberry black tea. I like to add a little honey and it’s perfect.

★★★★★

I adore raspberry teas and this one is no exception! It can overbrew easily, so keep an eye on it!

I bought several different types of black flavored teas for Christmas to treat my guests. I suggested the guests to choose any tea, the aroma of which they like the most - the guests chose the black tea 'Raspberry'. The smell of raspberries in this tea is very strong but I like it, it reminds of summer and cold winter days seem warmer and sunnier thanks this tea

I don't understand why, but for some reason this tastes a bit like how a wet dog smells. I tend to oversteep and maybe that's the problem. But the raspberry flavor is not very pronounced, and the wet dog flavor -- once you recognize it -- is distracting.

I used this in my pitchers of iced tea and it was great. the raspberry is very fragrant.

I love raspberry tea and this didn’t disappoint - I don’t know the steep time or temp

Love this tea! It's definitely one of my favorites.

The scent from the package reminds me of raspberry gummy candies! Unsweetened it’s a bit bitter, but not bad. Sweetened it’s absolutely yummy!

A favorite of mine and my husband. It’s not bitter at all and isn’t too subtle or overpowering in flavor.

Delicious raspberry flavored tea! One of my favorite black teas. The sweet tart raspberry flavor has just the right amount of tang. Love it!

Purchased for my granddaughter. Second time. It is her favorite.

★★★★★

This tea is delicious. Very raspberry. I don't get any more biterness from this than other black tea, as other reviews have said. Nice fruity balance. ANd not as artificial tasting as other flavored teas. I like fruit flavored black teas, and this is not exception. Smells like raspberries in the bag, smells like raspberries when brewed, and tastes like raspberries once steeped according to the package instructions. Delicious!

I was not a big fan... I usually mix a fruit tea with jasmines and this did not mix well or taste that good on its own.

Easily my favorite tea. Could probably drink 3 cups or more a day.

★★★★☆

Enjoyed this iced more than hot. I also made a blend with hazelnut and Scottish breakfast. That was good too.

★★★★★

I love the taste of Resbperry tea. I will definitly add to my favorites.

This was a fine communiTEA treat to receive on my birthday! The cup I got out of my sample wasn't too astringent, and played nicely with the bright, jelly flavor of the raspberry. I added a little sweetener to enhance the fruitiness, and enjoyed. (3 mins @ 200 F, 2 drops EZ-Sweetz)

My CommuniTEA packet smelled just like raspberry Pez candy. The tea is exactly how I expected from the description, black with a side of raspberry. Nothing was too strong and overall my cup wasn’t bitter. I steeped it just below boiling for 3 minutes. It was good with nothing added but tasted a tad bitter as it cooled so I added some sugar, also hoping it would make it taste as sweet as it smells (it didn't, but also this tea doesn't need that to be good). The sugar made it taste a bit smoother and I could taste a dark chocolate sort of bite. Resteeped, I didn’t really taste a difference from the first cup. I will probably buy this tea since it’s like my favorite raspberry herbal tea but as a black tea.

This tea isn't terrible. I'd be willing to drink it if someone offered it to me, but I'm not interested in buying it. The flavor is decent but there is just too much extra bitterness to try to combat. I usually add a little bit of sugar to my tea, but the amount of sugar I would have to add to this to try balance the bitterness would be ridiculous. (3 min @ 212F)

I oversteeped it slightly... and my was that a mistake. It was bitter. A reviewer on here mentioned it was better cold... so I let it cool and put ice cubes in it. Picked up the flavor nicely.

★★★★☆

I took the advice from the other reviewers and brewed this at a lower temp for less than three minutes. I got a really nice flavor with no bitterness. I think this one really benefits from a little bit of sweetener.

★★★☆☆

Not my favorite... thought I would taste more of the raspberry notes

★★★★☆

My first sip I tasted a bit of raspberry. I think I would have enjoyed this more at a shorter steep time! It was a little dark. But that is my fault. I would like to try this again. I do like it better than the cherry!!

After how much I loved the strawberry black tea, I expected a lot from the raspberry version, but I don't love this. The black tea was so strong and bitter, even brewed at a lower temperature than was recommended, and it overwhelmed the raspberry flavor almost entirely. I added a little sugar, and it was still almost intolerably bitter. I wanted to like this, but it just didn't hit the mark!

Part of the January 2021 CommuniTEA box. Yummy, sweet and tart. A nice simple pick-me-up!

A nice black tea blend if you like raspberries. It smells and tastes like raspberries. A bit of cream tea may be great to blend with it, but it’s also just fine on its own without any other additive.

Upon opening the CommuniTEA packet, it revealed the smell of fruity raspberries. Brewed this one as a normal black tea for 5 mins at 212°F, then realized it said only 3 minutes were suggested on the package.

After steeping, this became very clear in the taste! The first sip was like a punch in the face! It had a very hard, astringently brisk flavor that was raw and rasping. The bitter tannins from the tea amplified the bitterness added by the raspberry leaves. This is a bit out of balance for even a strong dry and brisk tea, and I realized that the mistake of brewing like a normal black tea had created a very strong brew. Always ready to give a tea a second chance, I decided to add filtered water to dilute until it became more palatable.

This turned out to be a great decision! The extra dilution brought the tannins back into balance and brought out more of the fruity raspberry flavors. Much like how the complexity of a strong aged Whiskey can be brought forward through dilution or mixing into a well balanced cocktail, this tea can become more balanced in the same way. Further, after adding some sweet cream half & half, it became the yin to the harsh astringent yang. The cream brought out a pleasant dry and brisk raspberry cream flavor, rounded out by the tea's astringency at the end. For those willing to give this one a second try, I'd recommend using dilution with plain water and/or a sweet cream or creamer of your choosing. I generally don't sweeten my tea, but this one could benefit from a sweetener to bring the bitterness into balance.

Overall, this was a very strong dry and brisk tea that could become too astringent, pointy and raw for some people. Not one that is very enjoyable to drink without adding some dilution, cream, or steeping for less time. Given the strength, this one could be a good base for cooking, or adding to cocktails.

I personally think it was a good tea, but it's not something I would go to often. I'm just not that into fruity black teas as I really like my teas with a splash of milk and then you risk the curdling. I still tried it with milk though, and it was one that didn't curdle which is nice.

★★★★☆

This was a nice raspberry black tea, not overpowering. I drank it hot with a little honey, but I believe it would make a lovely iced tea.

Smelled better than it tasted. Wanted it to better than it was.

★★★☆☆

The smell of the dry leaves straight from the CommuniTea packet was a bit artificial smelling, very candy-like. This scent completely disappeared during the steep. As other's have mentioned, this black tea is definitely temperamental. At first taste it was quite astringent, and I couldn't taste any berry flavor. I added sugar as I am wont to do. When it reached more of a 'warm' temp the berry flavor finally decided to shine through. This tea would probably benefit from a cold brew, and enjoyed iced.

The smell of this tea was pure raspberry. As I do with most fruity black teas, I steeped it hot, then put it in the fridge to enjoy as an iced tea. The first few sips were extremely bitter, to the point where I wasn’t even going to finish it. Adding sugar helped, and brought forward some dark chocolate flavors, but it still was so bitter. Added almond milk saved it completely. It took away the bitterness, and brought forth the raspberry flavor. The chocolate flavor became pleasant, and turned this from a terrible tea to an absolutely delicious iced latte!

tasted a bit generic, a tart 'berry' taste that is hard to pin down as raspberry, exactly. I didn't really find any depth to the flavor, either, just the sharpness.

★★★★★

Nice and strong scent, with a taste to match. Making me crave chocolate covered raspberries.

This is a solid raspberry tea. The Ceylon brews up without any bitterness and the raspberry, well, it tastes like raspberry. Overall, a good choice. (3 min @ 212°F)

Luckily my Communitea packet didn't have too many raspberry leaves, but it was also missing the raspberry pieces. The dry aroma was similar to raspberry flavored candy. However the raspberry flavor did not come through very well, it may have done better iced.
