One of my favorites out of the lot I ordered! Fruity without being overpowering!

★★★★★

Light and slightly fruity when hot. Delicious and bright when cold. Enjoyed a CommuniTEA sample with our afternoon tea yesterday, and my 10 year old asked for the same first thing this morning. Placing an order now so we can have it as soon as possible.

★★★☆☆

A little bitter for my liking, it did have the faint flavour of the the fruit.

This tea is just OK. I was excited to have a free flavor, but it was sort of bitter and somewhat unremarkable.

★★★★☆

I enjoyed this tea iced. Usually passionfruit teas can be tart. This was not. I didn't taste much passion fruit, so perhaps this was why. :)

★★★★☆

I would get this again. There was a creaminess on the nose and initial taste mixed with the fruit and black tea tastes. 4 @ 212 (I do like my teas strong and am not bothered by astringent black teas.)

★★★★★

Very sweet and fruity. Great with a bit of milk and sweetener!

★★★★★

Such a unique flavor! I like the passion fruit mixed with the black tea. I added a little milk and sweetener

Sweet, fruity, and floral describes the smell of the dry tea; there's even some light almost chocolate-y notes from the ceylon. The fruityness like a fresh apricot is comforting. To avoid bitterness, I brewed at 195 for 3 minutes. Freshly brewed, the tea smells almost buttery, and the chocolate smells from the ceylon are just as strong as the sweet fruit.
After reading in some reviews that the fruitiness comes out best when the tea is less hot, I poured my tea into my cup very slowly from high up to get as much heat out as possible immediately. The smell combination took on an almost earthiness after that.
I thought that I had avoided the bitterness as my first sip was buttery with a light hint of fruitiness, but bitter continued to build on my tongue as I took multiple sips, so I set aside the tea to cool for a while. When it was just barely warm the passionfruit flavor emerged (I hadn't actually been able to tell what flavor passionfruit was supposed to be until now) and added nicely to the buttery, lightly bitter mix. Rather than adding sugar I paired it with food (homemade chicken sandwich on pretzel bun) and the pretzel flavor on my pallet eliminated the bitter and brought out the floral and fruit flavoring quite well. A little mild, but pleasant between bites nonetheless.

Not bad - the flavor itself was really good. There didn't seem to be any artificial taste to this, which is a big deal for me. I just wish there was a little more of the passionfruit flavor.

★★★☆☆

This is a very middle-of-the-road tea. It tastes strongly of Ceylon tea with just a hint of passionfruit. Pleasant to drink, but nothing special. (3 mins @ 212°F)

I enjoyed this fruity back tea. I doubt that I would have guessed the flavor if I did not already know what it was, but that does not prevent me from appreciating both the black tea and added flavors. I could drink this all day.

Not bad, but kind of just tastes like generic fruit flavored black tea. Might be good in a blend, maybe mixed with piña colada or similar.

I've had this tea on my wishlist for so long and I'm so glad I got a chance to try it without having to pull the trigger and buy a sample. It ended up being the start of a good workday to say the least. This tea is fruity without being overbearing and slightly sweet without taking over the flavor of the tea. Definitely something I'm going to purchase.

Not gonna lie: I have found recently more and more black tea's to not be to my liking . However today's CommuniTEA of PassionFruit was quite pleasing.
The aroma when opening the packet was amazing. Steeped for 4(ish?) min @ 200 and heartily sweetened with a scoop of sugar it was quite nice hot, and didn't get absolutely disgusting as some black teas do when they are forgotten and become room temperature.
Thumbs up here :D

The dry tea had a strong, fruity flavor. Reminded me of Fruit&Cream Oatmeal for some reason - in a good way. When fresh brewed and hot I couldn't taste any passion fruit or other fruity notes. As it cooled the sweet, fruity taste started coming out of the woodwork. I believe this tea would make a good iced tea, as it seems the fruity flavor is strongest when cool. (CommuniTEA: 1st steep: 3 min @ 195°F; 2nd steep: 4 min @ 200°F)

This was a DELICIOUS iced tea!! I added a small spoonful of sugar, and the fruity flavor just popped. I didn’t try it hot, but when cold, there was no bitterness from the black tea.

I'm familiar with the tendency of certain of Adagio's flavored Ceylons to trend astringent, so I babied this one and was rewarded with a not-overly-dry, very fruity cup. I'm having trouble distinguishing the passionfruit from a peach or an apricot flavor; I'm used to having them puréed fresh or frozen, and the actual fruit is very acidic, unlike this tea. With that being said, this tea is so nice that I don't even need sweetening to make it palatable for myself. (3 mins @ 200 F, no additions)

Overall I liked this tea. It did brew a little bitter, but after adding some sugar, I didn't mind it too much. I think maybe astringent might be a better word than bitter for this one, which is just how black teas are sometimes and I don't mind it if it gets cut down by adding some sugar, which this one did. The sugar also helped bring out the fruit flavor, though I would never have been able to pick out what fruit it was. Tasted as part of The CommuniTea.

I brewed at 180 for 2 minutes and served it with honey, and it was very nice! The honey worked very nicely with the pomegranate flavor. I agree with others that it would probably make an excellent iced tea, probably with a bit of honey and a splash of orange juice to brighten it up.

Passionfruit I think is hard to achieve in a tea as strong as a black tea. That said with a little sugar one could taste some passionfruit. Overall this is a tea you want to possibly steep at 200 degrees and no more than 2 minutes as it get bitter quite quickly.

I was pleasantly surprised with this tea. Due to other reviews I was expecting it to be bitter. I didn’t detect any bitterness at all. I did enjoy it with a little honey although it really didn’t need it.

November CommuniTEA box:
The passion fruit smell seemed somewhat artificial, but the taste of this tea is mild and pleasant.

Upon opening the package I got a definite waft of a fruity scent. I brewer this one up at 200 degrees to try and avoid any bitterness. The taste was nice enough, despite a lower brew temp, the black tea base still had a bit of bitterness to it, and underneath that a very subtle fruity taste which was almost hiding. Several sips still had that elusive fruit taste that was mostly in the background. altough i usually take my black teas with no milk or sweetener, I tried adding a small bit of maple syrup ( my sweetener of choice) and this seemed to coax out those fruity notes i has been sensing, it brought them out to the front of the sip...This seems to be what balances out the cup of tea for me- while i don't know exactly what passionfruit tastes like, this is now a very pleasant, fruity drinkable cup!

The smell is overwhelming. I normally don't like passion fruit alone but this one is okay. It would be good in a blend.

★★★★☆

After reading some other reviews, I decided to understeep this a little. There was still a little bit or bitterness that k didn’t love, but there is a nice fruity warmth here as well.

I really liked the aroma of this tea before brewing. It has such a nice natural aroma of passion fruit. After brewing, I tasted too much bitterness. I probably brewed too long? 212F and 3 mins was too strong for me. Ok, now I know that a lot of people mentioning this is a bit bitter. I should have read the review first.

My CommuniTEA packet and the brewed tea both smelled super fruity and sweet. However I could not taste any fruit at all when it was warm.

The fruit came out for me when the tea had cooled to lukewarm, and it was quite fruity then. Iced, rather than hot, might be the best way to take this one.

I love passionfriuit black tea. Unfortunately most tea companies just don’t do it justice. It was just okay. Not one I would consider buying.

★★★★☆

Tried this through Communitea. I'm not always a big fan of flavored teas (find they taste artificial even if they're not) so I was pleasantly surprised that this was definitely a black tea forward taste with the passionfruit more in the backdrop. Not a new favorite, but definitely enjoyable!

★★☆☆☆

The astringent black tea masks the more subtle fruit flavor- it is ever so slightly noticeable, and I even steeped it at 200° for 2 minutes.

The smell of this tea is amazingly fruity and strong. The taste is more dominated by black tea, and steeped at the recommended time was edging towards too bitter.

This is a good black tea with mild fruit flavor enhanced by adding some sweetening. Black tea can be bitter if brewed too long so a shorter brew time is suggested. This would make a good refreshing iced tea.

Once the tea cooled down a bit I could taste the sweet passion fruit with made the tea amazing. After adding some stevia it was even better. Love it 💗💗💗💗💗

★★★★★

Great, fruity smell out of the bag. It did have that bitter black tea taste, so i added a packet of stevia and it was good.

★★★★☆

Steeped this at a lower temperature than stated (195 degrees) because I was afraid that steeping it at 212 would bring out the bitterness. It was still a tad bitter but adding sugar helped tone down the bitterness and brought out the passionfruit flavor. The flavor comes out more once the cup cools.

I love passionfruit and this didn't taste at all like passionfruit it me. There was a fruity smell, but not much of a taste. This may be better for people who enjoy sweet iced tea, or those who put cream in their tea. I drank this mostly black and it was disappointing. (3 min @ 200 degrees, splash of sugar syrup).

I don't think I've ever had passionfruit in anything other than drinks. I like it well enough though. Same for this tea, the fruit blends well with the black tea.

★★★★☆

Little bit bitter, but still real good. I had it hot, but I think it'd be better iced. Nice fruit taste.

Nice fruity flavor in this one. Would make a good summertime iced tea too!

I'm not sure what passionfruit is supposed to taste like...but this tea is a nice mix of black tea malt/chocolatey tones with a lighter taste of sweet fruit in the background. The aroma is sweet and pleasing...sort of like a mix of light banana and maybe a touch of a mango like scent and taste? I've never had passionfruit so have to compare it to things I have had... A very nice cup of tea to start my day!

This has a mild fruity flavor with black tea. I added sweetener before tasting and it really didn’t need it with the natural fruit flavors. I thought the marigolds might make this tea butter but it wasn’t.

★★★★☆

This is kind of lovely, actually. I was expecting something fruitier from the smell when I opened my CommuniTEA packet, but I got something more floral instead, which was a pleasant surprise.

It's a good tea, but I think I am just not a fan of black tea with a fruit flavor. I think if you like fruity black teas, then you will like this a lot.

★★★★★

Great black tea flavor, with hint of passionfruit.

Delicate, interesting taste, reminding a little of mango and /or peach flavored teas.

This tastes like the iced tea at 🐼 Express, for a lot less money! I drink this iced and hot!

Makes a wonderful iced tea. Let it steep overnight. One of our go to's. Haven't had it hot yet
