I find this to be a delicious, satisfying afternoon tea.

If you really enjoy the flavor of bourbon, you'd probably love this. I was very surprised how much like bourbon this tea tastes. It has kind of a smoky, woodiness to it that's very hard to describe. This would probably be a great tea to spike with the real thing!

This tea is pretty wild -- the bourbon flavor is very forward in the mix, but there is a lot of complexity, too. I don't reach for it often, but it's a treat for those times when you want something kind of luxurious.

I love this tea! Every time I drink it I crave brisket.

I love the flavor of bourbon and this tea really captured the sweet tang. It was a tad on the fruity side for me, but overall an enjoyable cup.

This tea weirds me out. But not in a bad way! You make this as and iced tea and this tastes exactly like a bourbon!

I guess I was feeling adventurous when I decided to buy a whole bag of this. The flavor profile just sounds like it would be totally amazing, but mostly it just tastes like fake smoke and chemicals. I didn t know enough about lapsang souchong to know that this tea would not be for me. It s sort of a rubbery/smoky/artificial flavor that I do not enjoy. I hope maybe I will have a guest who likes it that I can give the bag to. Otherwise, this will probably sit in my cabinet until it expires. (This is the first tea i have really *hated*)

Slightly smoky medium bodied black tea with candy apple, caramel, dusty semisweet chocolate and hints of booze and vanilla.

I was sceptical at first, but this is actually one of my favourite treats. The smokiness is not overpowering, and the flavour is well rounded and smooth. I wouldn't necessarily liken it to bourbon, but it does pair really well with a small glass of whiskey or bourbon on the side.

Smells like bourbon without the bite of alcohol. But taste? By itself, I think this tea tastes awful-- as if a whole bottle of liquid smoke were dumped on the tea. I blended 1/2 t. of the bourbon tea with 1/4 t. butterscotch and 1/4 t. cinnamon for one cup. Nice smell, but the taste? Pleasant until the smoke kicked me in the tongue. Even a portion of rock sugar crystals couldn't cloak the smoke. Really hoping to use this for blends, but the smoke may dominate no matter what.

UPDATE: Since my initial review, I've replicated this tea as well as I could per the ingredients but OMITTING the Lapsang Souchong. I've come to the conclusion that you have to like L.S. in order to like the KY Bourbon tea as is.

My replication (for 1 cup): 1/2 t. Keemun Concerto, 1/4 t. Candy Apple black tea, 1/4 t. Vanilla black tea, 1 single drop of whiskey extract (J. Daniels type) purchased elsewhere, 3 rose hips, 3 cacao nibs. Alas, no blue cornflowers on hand.

I like my version SOOO much better. I think Adagio needs to make a version without the Lapsang Souchong for the people like me who hate it. The whiskey flavor has a smokey taste without the L.S. tea. I'd take the initiative to create this blend, but Keemun Concerto isn't one of the possible blend ingredients.

What a kick! This tea is paked full of flavour! I would recommend this tea to anyone who enjoys a bit more out of their tea. (It also tastes great with a little bit of vanilla in it!)

Very unique blend. Perfect with some honey and cream. It's pretty true to its description. Tried after ordering the mocktails sampler and immediately ordered a pound.

Nutty and boozy! Great with a little bit of sugar and milk.

This is an interesting blend of flavors. It definitely has the earthy woodiness of whiskey so if that is not your jam you probably will not like this. I think it would be perfect in the winter by the fire.

I am not, personally, a huge lapsang fan, but I can enjoy it in this blend! There's a lot going on here, but it's well balanced and yields a very strong cup.

I've also really enjoyed giving this one as a gift to a handful of whiskey drinkers who mentioned wanting to get more into tea! It's always a hit, and I really recommend being around the first time they open the packet and smell this tea - the reactions so far have been priceless.

A bit of bourbon flavor without the loss of motor function. Yummy!

This was surprisingly good! Although I prefer to mix it with a little bit of the Scottish breakfast tea for that extra depth of flavour. This great for the cooler months by the fireside.

I really enjoy this tea. The smoky element provided by lapsang souchong tea is a bit flavor forward so I mix equal amounts Kentucky Bourbon with Yunnan Noir in my teapot. The other flavors of vanilla and malt are lovely. I like this mix with Truvia and honey.

I really wanted to like this. I love the concept but it was way too smokey for me

When opening the bag, the first aroma reminded me of butterscotch, very rich and comforting. After sipping for a while, I can detect a slight smokey flavor which is a nice and subtle almost aftertaste, but I could use a bit more. This is a good evening tea and cool crisp weekend tea. I steep this longer to draw out more flavor.

This absolutely tastes like you added a slug of bourbon to a cup of tea (something I have been known to do when I have a cold). The thing is, if I want my tea to taste like it has a slug of bourbon in it, I have a bottle of Jim Beam in the cupboard.

Smells like bourbon, but some of the flavor is a little lacking. Could use more lapsang souchong for more smoky flavor. Very vanilla-y when hot, but takes on more flavors as it cools a little.

I adore this tea and while the smokiness might not be for everyone, I enjoy it a lot! Kind of makes me think of camping and sitting around the fire. Very nostalgic for me.

“And …. They’re off!!” This tea, with its slight smokiness, is like sitting on the porch on a sultry Kentucky evening, with a favored drink in your hand! Sultry and slightly smoky it’s a perfect blend. I’m thinking iced, with a sprig of mint?

like your favorite bourbon bar. I received a sample of it with my previous order, and here I am two days later stocking up. It was a smash success with my husband too. If you like Adagio s seasonal Autumn Mist blend, give this a try. ”

You can really smell the bourbon smoke in this tea, i liked it with a bit of honey added when i made it up in a pitcher for all day sipping, also to note, this tea would be pretty solid if used in cooking for a meat marinade or flavoring a whipping cream for adding onto a dessert the tea is strong but not overpowering

The smell was remarkably reminiscent of the real deal, very sweet and sharp. The taste is more mild than its smell but not unpleasantly so. Very malty, with a good bit of smoke and a touch of bitterness on the back of the throat. I would actually recommend drinking this after it's cooled for feeling these flavours better. You'll find yourself sipping on a small cup of it and thinking, 'I could get used to this'.

I did not think I would like this one, but got a sample to try it. I wound up really enjoying it, which is odd because I hate bourbon or alcohol. Has a nice sweet smokey flavor, and I can definitely get this oaky bourbon note, which I wound up enjoying. I would get this again.

I am an avid whisky drinker with a pretty heavy repertoire of bourbons tasted. As I write this, there are at least 25 different bottles of bourbon on my shelf. There are many complaints that this does not taste like bourbon and that is to be expected. It's tea.

That being said, this is a very, very bold flavored tea with caramel, vanilla and apple. Not a daily drinker, but I'll definitely get more of this once and a while to spicy things up.
