If it didn’t have the Lapsang in it, I would have loved it. To anyone who doesn’t like that Smoky taste in their tea, this isn’t the tea for you. I wanted. To like it, the smell is amazing. But whenever Lapsang is added to a blend it just overwhelms it.

I am apparently very sensitive to lapsang souchong as any amount of it in a tea overpowers any other flavors for me. I added some honey and that mellowed the smokey flavor enough for me to enjoy the tea. I have no idea if it tastes like bourbon since I'm not a big drinker and have never tried bourbon. But it's not a bad tea and if you don't have the distaste for the smokey flavor lapsang souchong that I do, you'd probably enjoy it.

At the start, I was skeptical about what this tea would be, however once I tasted it it blew all expectations out of the water. It tastes like bourbon, without the alcohol that I've discovered I'm intolerant/allergic to. The smoky flavor is divine, and if I add a bit of sweetener, it really brings out the flavors and makes this such a pleasure to drink. This is one I'll be repurchasing forever!

Bourbon just tastes like fire water to me, I'd prefer this.
The smokey flavor is rounded out with a bit of sweetness. It also smells better than it tastes.
It's well enough, but I'd prefer just normal lapsang , I steer into the smokiness.

Loved this tea! It's got a really rich, smoky flavor with some really delicious caramel notes. It was sweet, fruity, not too strong... so good!

Not being a bourbon drinker I wasn't sure I'd like this tea but this one surprised me with it's smokey, caramel kind creamy accents. Definitely one that for me would taste best with cooler temperatures to accompany the full bodiness of this tea.

I did not like it at all. It tasted and smelled like fake alcohol. Like they're trying too hard to create the scent but it did not work. Try low country from Uncommon August, they're much much better in creating the effect.

Very tasty. Smoky with some lovely vanilla flavor, it's a great tea for curling up with a book and relaxing.

Like a bonfire on a cool, early autumn evening, the smoky notes assault my tongue before relenting to reveal undertones of vanilla and caramel. Would I drink this all the time? Probably not. Is it nice once in a while? Yeah.

What a wonderful tea. I was worried when I opened the bag and was hit with an overwhelming scent. However the tea itself was less overpowering. Nice caramel notes to it. If this is what bourbon tastes like I may have to try it.

I'm not a lapsang souchong fan, but there is enough other stuff happening here to make this a very enjoyable cup of tea. The hints of roasted apple and vanilla steal the show for me.

I sampled this tea as part of the September CommuniTEA. I have tried many time to get behind Lapsang Souchong. I do enjoy smokey flavors, but something about it I just don’t like in a tea. In this particular blend, it is tamed a little by the other flavors. However it is still very present and it really is the only thing I can taste. This tea might be better later in the day. I just can’t see myself starting the morning with Bourbon flavors.

This tea freaked me out! It really does taste like bourbon, so I ended up not drinking it with breakfast.

This tea was a total surprise for me. I really expected to dislike it. I don't drink bourbon so I can't attest to the authenticity of the bourbon flavor, but I love lapsang souchong and the smokiness it can bring to a blend. For me, the caramel, apple, black tea and smokiness make this a lovely autumn tea and brought memories of sitting around our backyard fire pit roasting marshmallows and hotdogs with friends. A lovely cup of tea!! Definitely added this one to my wishlist!

I really love the flavors, but the caramel apple throws a curveball in the mix, I would prefer just the bourbon burnt sugar notes. Peppercorn might go well in there instead.

No..too the Hell no, I will ever try again. I like whisky to get a buzz on to kill the taste and to make it easier to drink. For this turned into a tea..a big Yuck! (Just my opinion)

Best.
Tea.
Ever.
Not kidding. Great match to bourbon. It’s not Blantons, but it’s delicious.

I bought a sample of this merely out of curiosity, and it just isn’t for me. I just can’t deal with the Lapsang in it. If it weren’t for that, I probably would have liked this tea. I will say, they did a great job mimicking the taste of alcohol, and I was getting some of the vanilla notes. The BBQ smoker smokiness is still lingering a couple of hours after drinking a few sips of this. If you like Lapsang and bourbon then you will probably love this tea, but it just wasn’t for me.

I took a sip of this tea and all that came to mind was spit it out. The taste/smell brought to mind a can of dip. I just have nothing good to say about this tea.

The smokiness of the Lapsang really makes this tea. It s not whiskey, but it s about as close as you ll get, with the same vanilla and caramel notes mixed with campfire fragrance of a good whiskey.

I really enjoy this tea with a splash of almond milk creamer and honey whiskey. The smoky flavor is not that subtle and may be overpowering for some tea lovers. I think this is a great tea for a chilly day.

A fun flavor, it smells really great out of the bag. I don't drink bourbon and I thought it was okay, but my husband drinks Bourbon and he really liked it

My favorite teas are always the ones that remind me of the pipe tobacco my dad smoked when I was little, and this one nails it perfectly! It's rich and complex, multilayered, and delicious.

A nice, strong black tea where the flavors of bourbon and vanilla really come through. There's a bit of a smoky aftertaste, which is surprisingly nice. Added a touch of sugar and cream.

I wasn't sure I'd like bourbon taste in my tea, but was still curious so I ordered a sample. Well, they nailed the bourbon taste on this blend, no doubt about that, and it doesn't taste artificial either. So if you like bourbon taste, go for it; you'll like this one. For my own personal preference, it's not bad so I can still drink it, but I doubt I'd ever order this in large quantities.

I like Bourbon (by the way all Bourbon is made in Kentucky) but not sure this tea is for me.

This definitely has a bourbon like smell and somewhat taste to it. I used it to make a couple mocktails for a couple friends who are sober. One I made like a hot toddy and the other I made with iced with muddled blackberries and lemon. Worked well in both applications.

I have never been one for black teas but was very curious to try this. If nothing else, I felt it would be a great tea to try with friends during future get togethers (in the after covid times). I recently made some myself and surprised with how much I liked it. It was a black tea but the notes of the flavors it s mixed with are very pleasant and delicious. I plan to brew this cold because I feel it be really good that way.

I feel pretty indifferent about this tea. I mostly bought a sample for the novelty, gimmicky-ness of it to be honest. It wasn t a bad cup of tea, but I ended up giving the rest I had to a friend.

Such a beautiful, strong taste. Its sweet and quite earthy. I have never had bourbon myself, so I can't tell you if it tastes like the real thing, but what I can say is that it is wonderful to wake up and have a cup of this!
