It was not my favorite honestly, it was way too bitter even with honey.
Tangy, sour-sweet Hibiscus flower with brisk Ceylon tea. The fruity-spicy aroma and rich flavor are refreshing hot or iced!

It was not my favorite honestly, it was way too bitter even with honey.
I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the hibiscus flavor on its own...but it's a solid black tea.
A wonderfully favored tea. It has just the right amount of flower taste without leaving you feeling like you just drank a flower bouquet. My second shipment of this was not compatible to the first, very little flavor, maybe just an old batch.
Wow, is this an interesting tea. Slightly floral and tangy at first and then dark chocolate flavor emerges on the back end. Totally delightful.
Dry tea smelled tangy but slightly floral. When brewed, the resulting cup was a medium brown, and not red as I had expected. When hot, mild tartness was noted from the hibiscus mixed nicely with the brightness of the Ceylon. When warm, more of the flavor profiles from the Ceylon were noted, and the hibiscus added a nice almost sour note that cut through any bitterness or astringency. It was not as tart as I expected, but blended nicely with the Ceylon tea. Brewed for 3 minutes at 200.
I am a fan of hibiscus in herbals, but I don't personally love it mixed with black tea. Just not my thing. (reviewed through CommuniTEA; 3 min @ 195F)
I brewed at 200F for three minutes. I really liked this one, although I did miss the usual tartness from the hibiscus. I like the tart hibiscus! But the smooth blend of the black tea with the milder hibiscus in this blend was quite nice. A very smooth and drinkable cup.
Again, I love enjoying a black tea with my breakfast! Delicious hibiscus flavor paired with the bitterness and strength of the black tea!
The hibiscus in this isn't tart, but does taste a little fruity. It's got a slight sweetness to it that plays nicely with the Ceylon. The flavors were more complex than I was expecting.
I really liked this tea, it is really good iced, I don't mind it hot but prefer it iced, I added honey and it was so good.
I expected this to taste floral, like rose and jasmine teas do, but this fell more on the fruity side.
The hibiscus is much less tart than I was expecting. Instead it functions to add a floral flair to the black tea base. I was honestly expecting a little more brightness than I was given, which was a blend that's not much different from Summer Rose.
The history lesson was great. I enjoyed the tea but would of liked it paired with green tea. I would definitely drink it again.
Sampled this tea as part of CommuniTea. I have liked hibiscus in the different herbal teas I have tried but find myself to be surprisingly neutral about it blended in a black tea. The hibiscus didn't seem to bring much to the party outside of highlighting the darker flavor of the tea? I have no problems drinking this one but it isn't a tea I would reach for as my first choice.
This one doesn't do it for me, but for someone who enjoys the more bold and bitter notes that Black Tea brings along with the floral and tart flavor of the hibiscus, this would be the perfect tea for them.
I wasn't expecting to like this tea, but the blend is good. There wasn't any tartness or bitterness from the hibiscus and black tea.
Another floral tea I didn't expect to like but really enjoyed. The aroma out of the bag was too much for me, but once brewed, the floral settled in, nestling into the black tea and balanced nicely.
I always enjoy a good Ceylon tea and this one is no exception. The hibiscus adds a pleasant floral accent without overpowering the black tea. Add a bit of Truvia or Sweet Leaf brand stevia and it is delightful! Steep at 190 for 3 minutes to get the most flavor without too much astringency.
I'm from Austin, where you can't throw a stone without hitting a hibiscus bush, and hibiscus tisanes are served in almost every restaurant. Needless to say, I love a good hibiscus tisane. I was expecting to love this tea as well, but I found that adding a black tea to the hibiscus detracts from the flavor for me. I love a good, tangy, slightly sweetened, iced hibiscus tisane. I apparently don't love the marriage of hibiscus and a black tea. It is what it is.
CommuniTEA packet tasting was pleasant. I preferred this one chilled. I steeped at 195F for 3 minutes and somehow ended up tasting dark chocolate with a hint of hibiscus fruity tartness. Happy sipping!
I love it I had it hot (212@ 2min) my cup of tea! Add it to my wish list.
This tea was very bitter. I know a large amount of it came from the black tea. Since I couldn't put any milk in because of the Hibiscus the sugar was my only hope. It didn't make it taste any better. I love Hibiscus tart teas. But this just couldn't take a good Stand
I has mixed feelings on hibiscus tea blends. When done right they are absolutely wonderful, but like with most florals I find it's easy to end up with it overpowering the tea. This one was so well balanced and smooth. I opted to cold brew, but I would love to try it hot as well.
I went into this tea with an open mind but I don't enjoy the hibiscus and black mix
This had much more sweetness than I expected! I’m used to hibiscus bringing the tart to the game. But 195 for three minutes and there’s no hit of tart!
I was not expecting to like this and was expecting something super tart. It is not tart at all, but is rather well balanced with red fruit and lush floral flavors. The flavor of the black tea balances it perfectly.
Great tea!
I didn't expect to like this as much as I did... I believe the black tea saved it! Wasn't too tart or bitter...nice with honey🌺
Nice cup of black tea. Floral honey aromas come from the packet upon opening it. Once brewed the dark amber tea has flavors of dark chocolate and some tart fruitiness. Honey added to bring out flavors and to tone down the tart. Dark chocolate flavors intensify along with the fruit flavors that are maybe…cranberry? Very nice sip from start to finish. This would probably be good as an iced tea. Also would be good blended with other teas. May throw in some coconut for the 2nd steep. Steeped at 195º for 3 mins. Enjoy!
Hm...not really tasting much hibiscus in this! It smells juicy and tart, but the taste is mostly black tea with a whisper of a strange tartness that I don't find very pleasant. I don't usually like hibiscus in teas, so I'm assuming that's the hibiscus! Oh, when the tea had cooled down to room temperature I tasted more hibiscus for sure.
Surprised by this flavor. To me it tasted like grapes or blueberries. Not very tart, at least when combined with black tea. Maybe the bitterness of the tea and tartness of the hibiscus canceled each other out. It actually makes some sense given acids are tart and bases are bitter, so they should technically neutralize each other on a chemical level! But this still wasn’t a favorite. I feel like it needed something else to balance the flavors.
Love these teas on their own, not together. I found it bitter even with sweetener.
A simple tea combining rich black tea flavors with the tangy punch of hibiscus. It’s worth it to baby this one at a lower temperature to tone down the dry finish of the black tea, bringing forth juicy, citrus flavors and floral notes. Take some time to appreciate the color of this tea as well - hibiscus steeps to a gorgeous ruby red.
I make tea with plain hibiscus, so I knew I'd enjoy a black tea with that flavor profile
CommuniTEA Sample: Well, I don’t like hibiscus when it is strong within the tea blend and I really don’t like it when that is the primary flavor. Tried this hot and it’s not for me. Trying it iced as well to see if it improves.
Not my favorite tea. Drinkable but a tea you’ll never find me purchasing. The black tea and floral just didn’t mesh well to my palette.
This is not the hibiscus tea that I'm not accustomed to. I prefer the real stuff. It is okay tasting but nothing better.
A blend that proves when hibiscus is used in proper proportions, it makes for a pleasant cup! This is a very nice black tea, with a hint of almost brightness brought on by the hibiscus. Delicious!
Drinking along with the CommuniTEA: Strong scents of herbaceous hibiscus wafting from dry ingredients and packet. Once steeped for 3 mins at 190° F, I notice mainly honey ceylon tea notes. When I take a sip, strong hibiscus flavor balanced by honeyed ceylon notes.
Loved it. Very tasty. Then again I love floral flavours and black tea. Didn't find it bitter or overly tangy- just perfect.
The hibiscus adds a fruity tartness to the black tea. I steeped my CommuniTEA packet at 190°F x 2 minutes, and avoided any bitterness. A touch of sweetener improves flavor.
Normally I really like hibiscus, but all I tasted in my cup was a black tea with maybe a hint of Hibiscus. Once chilled the Hibiscus flavor does come out a bit more.
I love hibiscus and this is yummy, but there could be more, it’s not as strong and tart as I would like.
I’m not a huge fan of drinking tea that taste like a flower. It taste like hibiscus. 🌺 If you like that flavor this will be a winner for you.
Not enough hibiscus flavor, try an herbal tea if that's what you're after.
An absolutely beautiful cup of tea. The aroma is layered and subtle, and then the flavor hits you with just enough hibiscus to make it dance on your palate. Do not over-steep, though: 3 minutes is perfect.
Love this hibiscus tea. Helps me with my inflammation.
I didn't expect to enjoy this, but a unique flavor that works surprisingly well.
love it - tastes great - great - great - great - great
This makes great iced hibiscus tea - and such a beautiful color! If you make it hot, the tartness can be soothing on a sore throat.
