Enjoyed this tea as a CommuniTEA sample. Strong berry aroma from the dry leaves. I steeped at 190F x 2 min, then sweetened with a tiny bit of raw sugar to bring the fruit flavor forward. Delicious sipped hot, but the berry flavor becomes stronger as it cools so it would make a great iced tea. Stands up well to a second steep.

Can't believe I haven't reviewed this one yet, I'm sure I've had it before. I had absolutely no berries in my mix, but still I cautiously brewed this one up at 195 degrees and pulled the steep before 3 minutes to avoid bitterness. This was a very nice general berry tasting cup. It didn't blow me away, but it did describe what it said on the package. I have tasted this one in mixes and think this can be a flavour that adds well to others, on it's own it's pretty ok, but I like other berry flavours better.

First, I’ll admit that I’m not clear whether this tea is supposed to taste like some specific sort of berry or if it’s just Adagio’s way of saying “mixed berry.” The flavor to this tea is of some indistinguishable berry, and to me, at least, it tastes somewhat artificial. Although the flavor does give the black tea a nice lift, it tastes somewhat medicinal - not like cherry-flavored medicine, fortunately - but it’s enough to be off-putting for me. The flavor seems naturally sweet, which is good, as any sweetener would only have enhanced the medicinal quality. It’s not bad, but I think “forest berries” works better in small doses in blends.

I enjoyed this CommuniTEA packet steeped and chilled. The fruity flavor reminded me of those Arcor bon bon fruit center hard candies. For me, it was just ok. Happy sipping!

I enjoyed this cup of tea, but I didn't feel that it qualified as 'great.' The flavoring was good, but tasted a little off. I know it's derived from the actual plants, but I felt like having actual pieces of berries in the tea would have been more effective than this flavoring. Still, the black tea base was tasty, and the flavoring blended with it nicely, just not as well as I would have liked. Overall, a nice fruity cuppa to have with my breakfast. Brewed at 200F for 3 min.

I received a sample of this in the CommuniTEA and thought I would enjoy it more than I actually did. I agree with another reviewer that there is a slight medicinal taste to it that I found unpleasant.

Not a fan of this one. The Ceylon tea and raspberry leaves make for a bitter brew, and the berry flavor just isn’t strong enough. This blend tastes great when mixed with other flavors though! It just needs a little help!

I think I hate forest berries. To me they have a very medicinal flavor that doesn't mix with the black tea. I wouldn't drink this tea again. I steeped the tea for 3 minutes at 212F.

I'm surprised that a tea that makes such good blends is so... off-putting on its own. It tastes really fake and has an awful, chemical aftertaste.

Which is just truly perplexing to me because it makes such lovely blends. How? How can it be so yummy when combined with other teas but so bad on its own?

I'm really saddened by this tea. I expected it to be so much better than this. Instead, I ended up dumping it down the sink.

This is a slightly tannic, medium bodied black tea with a berry flavor that reminds me of those candy covered gummi chews from that one famous German company. The raspberry leaf is the flavor that comes forward the most in this blend.

Tea was a little bitter for me. I was hoping for a sweeter berry flavor, but the Ceylon overpowered the berries. I added a little agave to sweeten it up.

My CommuniTEA packet had a nice berry aroma. I thought it needed some sweetness to bring out the berries...I added a little honey. This has an overall berry flavor...nothing specific that I can pick out. I did think it was better as it cooled off a bit.

I appreciated this strong black tea this morning. I brewed at 195 for 3 minutes. It wasn't bitter and had a faint berry flavor. I have had this tea in blends before and wondered about it on it's own.

Good berry aroma from the dry leaves. Mild fruit flavors with some honey, chocolate like flavors from the ceylon. Strong bitterness and astringency, possibly from the raspberry leaves. I added honey and it really didn’t help the bitterness at all or help the fruit flavors come out. I also tried this chilled and it was better. Bitterness and astringency were mild and the berry flavors popped more. Cold brewing may be the way to go with this one. Steeped 195º for 3 mins.

The first steep of this was very nice. Subtle, but flavorful. Most of the flavor vanished on the second steep, but I still very much enjoyed the light berry in round one!

I didn't mind this one in some fandom blends, but by itself, forget it. It's not as bad as some cherry teas but I can still taste a little medicine in this one. Pass.

Not for me, but I'm glad I got to try. I might not have got all of the ingredients because of the size of the sample.

UPDATE: Received this in a CommuniTEA packet this month, and it's better than I remeber! Still no fruit seen, but it's not as astringent and the sample I had a year ago. Very artificial berry, though, and a bit like cough medicine. once brewed, a bit bitter. but reminiscent of forest berries.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:In the bag, there is a slight astringent smell, probably from the raspberry leaves. Otherwise, pleasant berries. Brewed, the astringency doesn't go away. You can smell and taste it. Though it's still very berry/ As it cools, the tea gets a little bitter. Usually, raspberry leaves don't bother me, but it's pretty strong in this tea. It's still good and berry, but if you don't lie raspberry leaves, I would stay away from this. Brewed per instructions and tried hot and cold.

Berries and black tea rarely work in my opinion. Not good unfortunately

There was a delightful pinch of berry goodness in this Forest Berry Tea that has such a mystical sounding name. A little bit of raspberry and a little bit of strawberry along with lively Ceylon brewed into a golden brown liquor that had a soft berry scent. There was some pleasant astringency but no bitterness when I brewed at 200*F for 3 minutes. My CT packet had 3 g / 2 tsp of dark tea leaves with tiny bits of raspberry leaves and some red fruity bits. I enjoyed a 14 oz. steep and a 7 to 8 oz. resteep. A honey add brought out the berry flavor more and tamed any tartness. This was an easy sip and an enjoyable tea with a perfect touch of berry. Just right for fall.

There were no berries in my communitea packet either but this blend is really nice! I enjoyed it hot and it has a beautiful raspberry scent and a pleasant berry background. I didn't find it artificial tasting at all like I sometimes do with berry teas. I bet this would be fantastic iced as well.

This one falls solidly in my 'meh' camp. It's not disgusting, but there is nothing about it that makes me want to keep sipping it either. It DEFINITELY needs sweetener to make the berry notes visible. I do agree with others that the flavoring here tastes a bit artificial and cloying. In the end, I would reach for another berry brew. Happy Sipping!

Enjoying along with the CommuniTEA:
Strong blueberry and raspberry fragrance wafting from the dry ingredients and packet. Once steeped for 3 mins at 190° F (to minimize astringent tannins), I notice more subtle berry fragrance with honey ceylon notes on the nose of my cup. When I take a sip, strong black tea with a nuance of strawberry, raspberry, and other berry favors wash over my palate, finishing with a lingering berry tang and just enough black tea tannins to balance out the fruitiness. Adagio's forest berries teas is definitely in the running for my favorite flavored black tea.

I read it in other reviews but was still shocked how bitter this tea was. I unfortunately didn’t have sweetener available to see if that would help.

The intoxicating smell of familiar yet somehow foreign forest berries wafted enticingly out of today's packet. Plenty of curled Ceylon black tea leaves nestled in the basket, alongside a lone piece of woody fiber. Perhaps a bit of the forest did end up in my sample! A quick 3 minute steep at 212°F produced an auburn colored tea. After the tea leaves unfurled, I found a few curiously blanched and translucent berry druplets.

The berry aromas followed the steam up from the hot cup to my nose as I waited patiently for it to cool. Berry flavors abound in each sip. It seems almost like a blend of raspberry, huckleberry and maybe other berries. Whatever those mysterious berries are, they have a unique and delicious flavor. The black Ceylon tea holds down the bold and brisk flavor department, keeping this one solidly in full-bodied black tea territory. A mild astringency is left on the tongue with a slightly drying character.

The mystique of those berries beckons me to go explore the forest. What an excellent berry tea! This one's definitely 'deserted island tea stash' material! I'll have to remember to bring some with on my next trip.

Yum! Delightfully fruity smell out of the bag. Amber-brown with a red tinge. Nice fruity strawberry flavor that is not overwhelming. A little bitter but much better with some stevia to sweeten (not sure temp, not boiling, brewed @work with hot water machine for 4 min).

CommuniTEA Sample: Not a big fan of this one. It may have been the luck of the draw as I didn't get any fruit pieces in my sample and there was only a bit of somewhat harsh artificial fruit flavor in my blend. Steeped it my normal tea temp and time for Flavored Ceylons and this one just had a bitter aftertaste and not much fruitiness. Maybe a full size sample with fruit pieces would be better, but won't be rushing out to get this one. A splash of cream calmed it a bit and made it much more enjoyable.

Looooove forest berries. Adagio is sneaky and only refers to forest berries flavor so I have no idea what it's actually made with, but every blend I've had with that flavor had been delish. This is my first time trying the forest berries tea on its own rather than in a blend, and I am in love. Might have to grab a bag of this for when the weather decides to cool off.

This one just didn't do it for me. Pretty strong artificial fruit aroma from packet. No fruit pieces in packet. Brewed 212F, 3 minutes. Nice cup of black tea, but no real fruit taste except a bit of artificial strawberry-type nuance in the background. Might be my CommuniTea packet was short on ingredients, but pretty meh for me.

This tea is just okay for me. I like the idea of it, but it tastes very floral to me. That might work out well if I had brewed it hot, but I cold-brewed it, thinking it would be more fruity. Cold and floral is not it for me.
