'forest berries' is really great tea: a rich and vibrant flavor - a truly delicious tea that can be enjoyed on its own, without the need for sugar or sweets.
Some fruit teas can be overwhelmingly artificial tasting, but this was delightful. Fruity, but not to the point of overwhelming the actual tea.
When I first smelled it- YUM. Berrirific, very summery, perfect balance of flavors, soooo great iced in this hot weather!
Update- still a summer staple.
This was a hit. I like all things berry, so of course I had to try. Well blended. Tastes fruity without leaning to much toward any one flavor.
This tea is exquisite in all ways! It tastes exactly how it smells, which is divine. Somehow, it brought back memories of jolly rancher candy but in a good way. When I was steeping this tea the entire kitchen smelled beautifully perfumed. The berries in this blend perfectly combined for a fruity, sweet and tart smelling/tasting tea. And it's a pretty tea to look at so I decanted my bag into a glass jar to better appreciate seeing the bits of dried strawberries and raspberry leaves. Makes me feel like going on a forest picnic!
This tea smells amazing! It's a great berry scent and tastes like berries. I can't pinpoint a specific berry, but it's delicious. I enjoy this hot, iced, and in blends.
This is a nice flavor. I would like to taste the berries a little bit more than I do, but it's still pleasant.
Love berry flavored teas and this one is no exception. Definitely get the raspberry flavor and aroma immediately and the strawberry adds a less tart sweetness to the tea. The black tea isn't bitter here as long as you are careful with steep times and the same goes for the raspberry leaf. Drank this one with no additives and was awesome. It is also really good in blends as I have tried quite a few with this one as a component and many work well as dessert latte type drinks by going all out on the additions. I bet it is great iced also and will try it next go. 212° 4 min
I was looking forward to fruity berry flavor, alas all I got was a hint of smell, and mostly just black tea bitterness... hot, cooled, it just wasn't much for me.
This blend was a nice, simple berry flavored cuppa. However, this isn't one I would re-order. I think I would like it better iced given the flavor profile, but there are other berry flavored teas on this site that I like more.
This was ok. I steeped it at 212 for 3 minutes, but it was still bitter to me. I might try a second steeping to see if that improves it for me.
CommuniTEA sample: 3 min @ 195 F. I was surprised by this one! I expected it to taste artificially sweet and have too much bitterness from the Ceylon, but honestly, it worked out all right. The first cup that I had was very bitter, but the second cup had a really nice balance of some earthy flavors from the tea that brought out some extra sweetness from the berries without it being overdone, it really did seem like forest, wild berries. Mostly, I think it smelled like wild blueberries, but I can understand where the raspberries come in as well. It was also a very smooth mouthfeel!
I quite enjoyed the combination of black tea and tart berries.
Very fruity sweet scent from the packet. Ceylon was a great base for the fruity and sweet berry flavors.
This tea smells incredible when you open the bag! Forest Berries is a perfect name for that delightful aroma. While the tea itself is extremely pleasant, I was surprised that so little of that wonderful aroma carried into the flavor of the cup. If I was blind tasting this tea, I'm not sure I'd be able to identify any specific flavors. But it IS a very smooth, pleasant, and delicious tea.
My daughter loves this and says it would be worth ordering in bags. High praise from her.
Seo iad na caora a fhaightear san fhoraois inar tharla scéalta m’óige am codlata.
Too flowery for my tastes but I'm sure people who love morals would like it. You should try it for yourself.
Like this hot or cold with a small amount of sweetner to bring out the fruit. Will defenately get this again.
Forest Berries (and Blackberry Sage) are my favorites! I get them every order. Both have such a satisfying deep, earthy berry taste that my taste buds just adore. Highly recommend!!
Very Flora tea with slight berry flavor, if you are looking for a very fruit forward tea id look elsewhere.
I had a sample of this and loved it came back to order more.
Ok tea. Light on the berry flavor. I think the black tea overwhelmed it.
Always my favorite. A perfect tea for watching Avatar (the one with the blue people). It also smells great and goes well in other teas
I’m enjoying this berry-flavored black tea very much. It’s not as good as any of the specific berry teas, but it’s still good. Using a lower temperature usually helps to reduce the chance of bitterness IMHO.
What a good tea! Delightful just on its own, or in blends! I added a splash of milk and I was set. Fruity and delicious
It's so fruity and sweet, without being sour or 'over-ripe.' This is a black tea base at heart, but the nectary notes elevate it into something blissful. I look forward to steeping this one in the morning. It makes a great breakfast complement!
Very good blend, and my only point of contention is a slight back-mouth taste that doesn't quite jive for me...but fret not, because it is still a great tea. However, I decided to go full-on Alchemist and do a half-and-half mix of Forest Berries and Lemon Soliel, and I swear, when iced, it was the greatest tea I've ever had. A dab of simple syrup and it I could've bottled it and sold it out of my trunk and started my own website. Adagio, talk to your boy about marketing. Let's do this...
This was an okay tea. I really wanted to like it more, but I think the Natural Forest Berries flavoring in it is what got to me, it overwrote the flavors of the raspberries, raspberry leaves, and strawberries. I've tried brewing this one in different ways, but unfortunately the flavoring always tastes bitter to me. I will say that it makes for a good tea ice cube for iced teas, or for smoothies, so it does get a couple stars for that.
This is just ok. It has kind of a strange taste--maybe more like artificial flavors. I do like flavored black teas, though.
Very cloying in flavor. It tastes artificial unfortunately.
Good tea, just remember not to steep it for too long! When steeped for too long became very bitter, but was good otherwise!
Too fruity for my taste but I blend with chestnut and I’m so in love! I do try blending with other flavors all the time and I’m glad I put these together.
This is a nice way to start my day. The flavor is light and refreshing. It's a great way to find a calm moment in my day.
This tea tasted horrible. It was supposed to have raspberries and strawberries in it, but I didn't see any. The natural forest berries flavor tasted really bad.
This one has grown on me so much! I love it a little more each time I have it. I usually steep for 3 mins @ 200° and that seems to be just right for me.
The berry is prominent in this blend, mainly raspberry, but I do get a sense of blueberry and strawberry. Sweet enough on it's own and would be good as an iced tea.
If you love berry teas…you will love this very berry delicious tea.It has a great aroma and berry flavour. I added a little honey.
This tea makes me want to be a better (wo)man! Jack couldn’t have said it better himself. It’s a yes from me.
This tea was ok. It would have been better with actual berries in it. Good, but not great
Bursting with the vibrant flavors of ripe berries, this blend is a delightful treat for the senses. Its fruity aroma and refreshing taste make it a perfect companion for moments of relaxation.
I would give it 4 1/2 stars if I could. It's been a couple of years since I last sampled this one, and I must admit, I like it much better this time. Steeping it gongfu at 175 degrees for 15, 30, and 45 seconds each certainly helped; adding a touch of monkfruit did, too. The forrest berry flavor does have a slightly artificial scent, but the natural sweetener brings out the fruitiness nicely. The visible fruit bits were very minimal but it worked well today.
Sept 2020: This one smells inviting with the promise of raspberries, but I was dissapointed with a bitter bomb of black tea and Forrest berry. No strawberry or raspberry present. This one was hard to finish. My palate never acclimated to it, honey didn't help. I sampled this Tea as part of the CommuniTEA September box.
Update 2024: proper steeping time & temp is key. Learned alot in the last few years. Today's was much better & fruity.
4/16/24 Communitea: Perhaps I oversteeped this by trying to make it at boiling, but I didn't care for this tea at all. It certainly smelled good while brewing, but it was quite bitter to the point where not even a bit of sugar saved it for me. Plus, I guess I'm not a huge fan of the combination of berries and black tea. I think I prefer my fruity teas with a green or white base. I don't think I'll order any more, but maybe if I get another sample down the line, I'll try brewing it at a lower temperature and seeing if that helps.
When this tea hits, it really hits - my Communitea sample had no berry bits, but lots of visible raspberry leaves. It smelled absolutely amazing. With raspberry leaf's tendency towards astringency, I steeped this one cooler and shorter than I ordinarily would for flavored black teas - around 185 for just about two minutes. I'm surprised by the number of reviews that mentioned the berry flavor being faint, as it was definitely present in my sample, though the smell of berries in the packet was stronger than the flavor. Unsweetened, I could definitely taste the raspberry at least. And it even held up alright for a second steep, though not as strong as the first.
I do like this one, though the fruit is a bit overpowering. It's a lovely flavor though, almost juice-like without sweetness. However, if you do not like fruit flavors in your tea, this won't be a good one for you. I'd like to blend it with some chocolate tea and see how that goes.
When I opened the bag and breathed in, my nose was treated to the delightful smell of berries. A good start! I brewed myself up a cup (212°F, 3 min) and my taste buds were subsequently presented with a nice, mellow berry-flavored tea. While my mind wasn't blown, this is a very solid cup of tea. I suspect that it would be even better iced.
I didn’t have any dried fruit in my packet, so mainly got the artificial berry flavor over black tea. They aren’t kidding when they say this one is high caffeine, and that factor combines with the berry flavor reminded me of a berry flavored energy drink. Much better with a bit of sweetener. The base is pretty astringent. I probably will not order this one full size.
Strong black tea baise with moderate notes of Blackberry and Raspberry with a hint of balsam pine. Not sure how they achieved that last part but the combination overall is quite good.
Wonderful tasting tea- if you like berries, you will love this!
