This is delicious, especially with chocolate milk, instead of regular. I usually leave the tea bag in my cup when I drink it for extra flavour.
Ceylon tea and rich dark chocolate flavor. Decadent chocolate liquor texture, brightened by the tang of the Ceylon.

I have not been able to find a good chocolate tea since Fresh and Easy grocery stores closed. This is exactly what I have been searching for. Very basic ingredients and none of the fake chocolate flavors such as licorice root and some of those others.i can’t wait to try all the other flavors i bought
This tea converted me from a coffee drinker to a tea drinker. Wonderful flavor, great with a touch of milk.
EDIT: My new favorite way to enjoy this is 2 parts Chocolate black tea and 1 part of the Cream black tea.
Not overly chocolatey but still satisfies that sweet, delicious craving. I like that it is not overly chocolatey so that on a cozy day I can add a little cocoa mix and cream for a very comforting cup of tea.
Very tasty, good for afternoon or dessert. I think if I could add a little of the creme brulee flavor it would be PERFECT
This was a nice tea. However, I am a big chocolate fan, and nothing is ever chocolaty enough for me so I gave it 4 stars.
I decided to get the largest size because this tea is a favorite with my friends. One of my closest friends just adores it! It pairs well with chocolate whipped honey.
You can taste the chocolate but even with cream it's a little bland for flavor. I would recommend trying it if you prefer a milder chocolate flavor.
Got the sample in the communiTEA and now im ordering a fullsized pouch! It perfectly captures the undertones of chocolate without getting bitter. I made a cup and then used the water for hot chocolate and IT WAS AMAZING.
Not bad but not great. It can easily get bitter, so I steeped it at a lower temperature and that helped quite a bit. I think I enjoy this tea better in blends than by itself. I agree with other reviewers, the chocolate flavor does remind you of Tootsie Rolls. I would have this again but not too often.
180* for 3 minutes
I have certain expectations of chocolate: that it tastes like really good chocolate candy, like hot chocolate- smooth and velvet like, dark and hot, or like chocolate cake. Chocolate tea just can't compare, it tastes weak and hints at chocolate but cannot produce the rich flavor and intensity I would prefer. 212F for three minutes.
Chocolate flavored black teas are not my thing. I can tolerate it better with a non-dairy creamer, but without that I'd just forego this flavored tea altogether.
This is a great tea. I love it on its own or in blends. I have even gifted it and my friend also loved it!
For being a chocolate tea, it’s reasonably good. That’s saying a lot since I don’t care much for chocolate tea. I prefer it plain without sugar or cream. It had more of a chocolate taste to me without the add ins.
I've had various similar blends, and I believe I've had this specific one before in the past as well. And in every case I find myself wishing that something richer like Assam was used in place of the Ceylon. I feel the malty, almost honeyed taste complements the chocolate flavoring far better than the light fruitiness of Ceylon. Still not a bad tea by any means, but it could be better.
Upon opening the packet it smells of cocoa and the aroma persists through the steep. I find that the chocolate flavor is there, but just not sweet to me. I did not add anything and I am sure sweetener would enhance that chocolate flavor. I do recognize the potential of this tea in blends though. I only deducted a star as to me this is not a tea I would reach for solo. Either way still a good tea. 212° 3min
CommuniTEA sample: 3 min @ 212 F. I think it's better when steeped at 195, but I did 212 today. Ceylon Can be a little bit bitter at higher temperatures. That kind of blends well with the chocolate and cocoa aspects, so it's not terrible in this blend. Very strong chocolate aroma, and weirdly not too sweet. I feel like any sweetness I'm detecting is just the scent of the chocolate, rather than actually tasting any sugar. I will say, it's very creamy, very smooth, I agree with the description that it is like chocolate liquor in many ways!
Am disappointed in this tea. No chocolate taste. I tried doubling the amount, steeping longer, etc. but just gets bitter, not more flavorful.
Many people have a cautious reaction when you offer them chocolate tea. But I can honestly say everyone who tries it asks for more. I personally love it.
My husband loves this tea. He said he prefers it to the chocolate chip one. He likes his tea sweet, so adds some honey to it.
A nice smooth subtle chocolate flavor that flows relaxing your senses and calms you. This one would make a nice dessert tea after dinner. No aftertaste, just a true delight.
If you like chocolate and like tea, why not. In all seriousness, this is a pretty good tea the chocolate flavor is more understated and not in your face. A nice tea that is easy to enjoy.
I love this flavor I personally add a tbsp of sugar or add a drizzle of honey. To me it was a little bitter not sure why. Anyway over alla good tea
Another of Adagio’s great chocolate black tea choice. Good alone or mixed with Adagio strawberry lack tea
A solid four stars for a pleasant tea, not a bad chocolate variation, although not as wonderful as chocolate truffle.
I thought there was some good and bad about this tea. Good: it was a yummy chocolate...not too artificial tasting, and as others have said, I imagine it has good blendability. Bad: it ended up being a little bit too bitter. I really wanted it to be a smooth cup of dessert tea. Having drank chocolate teas before, I was not expecting the rich creaminess of hot chocolate (although I imagine it would make a good tea latte/London fogesque drink), but it was bitter and strong...and not in a good way. It was drinkable, but only just. Sweetener helped, and I didn't try it with creamer, but it was just a little disappointing. I'd be willing to try it again to play around with steeping methods to see if I could stave off some of that bitterness, but for now, I probably won't buy a big bag of it! Steeped at 195 degrees for roughly 4 min.
I'm not a fan of dark chocolate generally, but this tea was tasty! I prefer it to hot chocolate since I feel like actual hot chocolate tends to overstay its welcome. It pairs nicely with some sweetened (unflavored) creamer which brings out the chocolate.
I’m not a chocolate fan, but I could understand those that are would love it. I added more nibs to the tea since my bag had none.
This tea is smooth and dark. I can see myself using it as a hot cocoa alternative in the future.
Sept 24: delish
If I was a chocolate tea person, I'd like this tea! Really tastes like chocolate and doesn't need much sweetener though I recommend a little to make the flavor 'happen'. Ultimately I either want chocolate or tea.
Delicious and delightful! Good on its own, and extra good blended in with other teas such as strawberry.
I add a splash of milk to help bring out the chocolatey depths
I thought this was a good tea, well as good as chocolate tea can be. I don't care much for dark chocolate, and I think milk compliments chocolate best. So, I was pretty sure I was going to hate chocolate tea, but I didn't. It smells great and there were some cocoa nibs in my communiTEA sample. As always, I am glad I tried it, but I won't be seeking out this tea again.
The chocolate aroma can be a bit potent and sort of smells the way tootsie rolls taste, but the flavor is far more subtle and realistic in its chocolatiness. Quite a tasty way to start the day or to have with a sweet treat.
A good dark chocolate dessert tea. It has a good chocolate flavor. If brewed properly, it's smooth. I like to add some honey and creamer for a nice treat.
This is absolutely delicious! A close second to the Tiger Eye tea I love so much, and can definitely substitute for it in pinch. And it's a REAL chocolate taste - nothing artificial about it.
I am a novice tea drinker who loves artificial chocolate flavor (think Ritas chocolate ice and chocolate tootsie pops) so I immediately tried all the chocolate flavors here first. I don't know if this is some big sin within the tea community, but I am a college student so I typically make a big batch and refrigerate overnight to get an amazing refreshing chill! The high caffeine content is perfect to bring to class when I have to get up for the four 8:30 am classes I had last semester.
This chocolate tea offers a delicate blend of flavors that tantalize the taste buds, but its subtle chocolate notes leave something to be desired for true chocoholics seeking a richer indulgence. While enjoyable, it may leave chocolate enthusiasts craving a more pronounced cocoa experience.
This is a nice tea with a definite chocolate flavor. I wish the flavor were a little stronger, but it is still good
Gifted to a coworker. She loves Adagio chocolate teas and has been drinking it for sweet cravings. Her review is five stars.
Very delicious with warm notes of chocolate. It helped curb my chocolate craving without being 3 million calories.
This is the best chocolate tea ever!!! it's my go to for the mornings because it does contain caffeine. The best thing is that it can be steeped twice with out loosing flavor or caffeine content. (steep time doubles for second time)
Adagio's simplistic cuppa Chocolate is a top fav which will always be in my tea stash!! There are many nuanced chocolate teas out there--but this is a stand-out. I love that there are hints of Vanilla, also, in this. Just such a great tea by itself..or in a blend!
This blend has a heavenly and indulgent chocolaty aroma. The taste is smooth and rich, with the sweet and bitter flavor from the cocoa nibs and chocolate flavor and a brisk flavor from the Ceylon.
Delicious smooth chocolate black tea! I will be ordering more of this one!
I love Adagio's chocolate tea! It may be my favorite flavor; the sent is wonderful as well as the flavor.
The chocolate flavour is nice and strong, without being bitter. Personally I prefer the chocolate chip or chocolate truffle, but this is a really good tea!
I always use the chocolate in combination with other teas. It goes well with caramel and vanilla. I have also combined it with Killer Coffee tea for added flavor.
It's fine; I'm not a huge fan of any of the Adagio chocolate teas. The flavoring they use is kind of artificial tasting. This one has just a hint of flavor to it.
My go to desert or afternoon pick me up really good with a splash of milk
I just really don't like these flavored black tea blends. The flavor is always chemical and overpowering and the tea is barely there
