I really enjoyed this tea. A simple black tea with a nice touch of caramel flavor without sweetness. I tried it hot, but I'm curious as to how it will be as a latte made with eggnog

★★★★★

I really loved this tea. I added 3 oz unsweetened vanilla almond milk and stevia and turned it into a dulce de Leche latte. :)

★★★☆☆

I mellowed out the bitterness (from the black tea) with cream and a smidge of sugar. Wish I got more caramel in the flavor.

I have not bothered to drink this tea on its own. I use it as a blending agent when I mix other teas together, to round out creamy notes or enhance sweet ones. For that purpose, it is very good at its job! UPDATE 11/2/20: Based on the other communiTEA reviews, I chose to baby this tea by brewing it low and short. 3 drops of EZ-Sweetz and a splash of cream later, I have a cup that is sweet and minimally dry, and giving me more of the intended flavor than the bitterness others have been reporting.

The caramel is balanced by the black tea base, but it definitely needs a sweetener to bring out the best flavor.

★★★★★

Based on other reviews regarding bitterness I brewed this one at a lower temp and only steeped for 2.5 minutes. It tasted good as a plain black tea, but a little rock sugar and some nut pods really brought out the rich, buttery sweet caramel flavor.

The packet had a pleasant level of caramel aromas without being too caramel-y.  Even though I brewed this at a lower temp (195º for 3 mins), the tea was pretty bitter, more than I usually experience from ceylon.  Not sure if I just had a weird batch or what.  I gradually added more and more honey and a little vanilla almond milk to deal with the bitterness.  It got less bitter as it cooled down to warm/luke warm, and got more caramel-y, but honestly was still bitter.  I think I actually enjoyed it most cold, which I didn't expect!  I like caramel but sometimes the intense sweetness gives me a headache.  I liked the idea of being able to enjoy the deliciousness of caramel with some control over the sweetness, but caramel isn't a go-to favorite for me.  For me, this would be best in blends.

I was worried this would be bitter, but it wasn't at all. Even brewed for 3min at 212, it was very pleasant. The caramel flavor didn't overwhelm the tea, and while I did try adding milk, I liked it better without.

I am not a chocolate lover but I do love a good Caramel. So I was excited to try today's CommuniTEA. I did not find a strong caramel aroma when I opened the package. But I am suffering from allergies so that may have been part of the issue. Once brewed it has a lovely caramel color. I found the Caramel flavor to blend well with the black tea. I added a little sugar to bring out the caramel flavor. There was a bit of a burnt sugar flavor however it was not strong enough that it was off-putting.

It's a nice tea. Smooth and a bit sweet. I liked it better with a splash of milk. It wouldn't be my go to tea everyday, but it's perfect as a once in a while or, just as today, a surprise tea. :)

T this was a nice cup. I thought it might need some cream but it was nice on it’s own.

A flavorful blending agent but solid on its own. Today I made a Latte with it woth half &half and a little honey. I sampled this Tea as part of the CommuniTEA November box.

So very bitter. It seems very good in blends but I want drink without sweetener.

Buy if you are making your own blends or drink with cream andxsugar

★★★☆☆

The tea was smooth and I didn't detect any bitterness. The caramel flavor is subtle, though I wish it were just a bit richer in flavor.

Imbibed with the CommuniTEA on 11/2/2020, and this has to be one of my favorite teas so far. I plan on buying more of this the next time I buy black tea!

I really liked this one, although there definitely is a bit of bitterness to it. Still, I’d drink this again.

★★★☆☆

I'm not really a fan of the Ceylon base Adagio uses in their flavored black teas. The caramel comes through nicely on this one, and it goes well with a little coconut milk.

★★★★★

Really enjoyed this one. The caramel smell and taste were lovely, and a little bit of cream brought the taste out nicely. I have learned that I enjoy most of the black teas better if I don't let the water reach a full boil, and that proved true today as well. The slightly lower temp helps avoid some of the astringency common to many of the black teas.

I've had this tea in blends before and it adds an amazing caramel flavor there. But on it's own, it's not as good and the caramel flavor isn't as pronounced.

★★★☆☆

Not a tea for me. Bitter taste to it. Perhaps if I had added some brown sugar. Not a tea I will repeat.

I can't believe how darn good this is, with a packet of stevia. It brings out the caramel flavor, like a piece of chewy candy! Yum!

★★★☆☆

I looked forward with great anticipation to having this tea today. The aroma was pleasant, especially if you like the smell of caramel. The taste of the brewed tea, however, did not have a blended complementary flavor. The Carmel Tea was much improved and had a more uniform flavor after adding foamed milk. This enhanced the tea and made for a delicious treat!

The smell is much better than the flavor. There´s nothing spectacular about it.

I barely got any caramel, and even more rock sugar than usual didn't save it. I brewed at around 195, but it was still kinda bitter. I mean it's probably good for blends, but on its own it's not so good.

Wonderful caramel smell from the package. Light and pleasant caramel taste.

This is definitely a tea that calls for milk and sweetener, but once it has them, it absolutely sings. The caramel aroma is rich from the beginning, but the tea's prone to a strong bitter tannic flavor.

Not a fan of this tea on its own. it tastes a little astringent. It is great mixed with other teas, like the birthday cake blend. This tea is also enhanced with milk.

I do love black tea, but maybe I steeped too long, this cup was a little bitter with the aftertaste and the caramel flavour was a little to mellow for me.

It’s not my favorite caramel black tea. I can see where other people are coming from when they say it gets bitter. To combat this I decided to add some sweetener and some almond milk. It helps.

Smelled great, but fell flat for me. More in your face caramel would have been more to my liking.

Not sure if the communitea got a bad batch or something, but this one seemed to brew more bitter than any other Adagio flavored tea I've tried. It smells marvelous and tastes nice with a lot of cream and sugar, and I suspect it would be a nice additive for a blend, but I can't recommend based on the cup I had.

A good black tea with the aroma hinting at the sweetness of caramel. I would have preferred a bit more caramel taste as extra sweetening just didn't quite bring it up to par.

This is very good especially with a touch of sweetener and cream, but I think I prefer butterscotch over caramel for the similar taste profile. Would be good in blends.

I'm not a big fan. I think it could have used more caramel flavor and it brewed really bitter. Next time I'd brew it at 200F and let it steep for longer. I do enjoy the caramel, but it needs more. Maybe adding a little caramel syrup would help!

After reading other reviews, I steeped at a lower temp and for about 2 minutes to avoid bitterness. It worked, but I was left with a very weak cup of tea, obviously. The flavor was nice, if a bit watery. The pouch smelled like candy when I opened it and I would say the taste matched that.

The aftertaste has the caramel coming through. I think I will try to mix this up with something else to soften it a little bit as it wasn't spectacular on its own, it feels like something is missing... Tried again for the communitea box, and still find it only so-so. Wish there was more flavor of caramel that comes through, I find this weak as a caramel tea.

Based on other Communitea member comments regarding bitterness, I brewed this at 190 degrees for 3 minutes and found it to be quite bitter on its own. I then added a half teaspoon whipped buttercream creamer and turned this into a creamy caramel latte. The bitterness was still present but not as pronounced. Without the cream, I think I might have given this a two star rating.

With a teaspoon of monk fruit sweetener and a splash of milk this tastes like a dark and creamy caramel has melted inside my cup with rich black tea. Best advice here, do not over steep and try a lower temp.

This tea smells way sweeter than it is. I was actually happy to find that when I tasted it, the bitterness of the black tea balanced out the caramel flavor. I would be careful not to steep this one for too long though! I steeped for just barely 3 min, and it was on the brink of too bitter. I think some milk might be nice in here.

Not a bad tea at all, nothing spectacular about it either. It’s a nice simple caramel tea. I would have preferred a little more to it like cinnamon or chocolate.

★★☆☆☆

The cloying aroma of this tea had my hopes up because I've yet to taste a tea as sweet as it smells, but even with some rock sugar added, this tea is SO bitter and I got none of the caramel flavor from my CommuniTEA packet today.

Nice and smooth with no bitterness at all. Caramel flavor is very nice, but not quite deep or rich enough for me. Was better with sugar and oat milk added.

I love this tea...black tea with a light kiss of caramel flavor. Perfect cup of tea for a crisp autumn morning. I like my morning tea strong, so brewed 5 minutes at 212. No bitterness. Just lovely. The blend of flavors is perfect! Not too sweet...just right.

Has more of a light citrus scent when brewed and has a darker caramel taste, -- especially, when you add some rock sugar. I used some almond milk and coconut cream half and half to keep it vegan and it was lovely on ice.

Another great sweet tea from Adagio that I have grown to love. Love having sliced apples with this one in the fall.
