It has a very strong caramel flavor, like that sort of fake caramel flavor. It's pretty good if you are mixing it with something else. But having it alone just tastes too fake.
Bright Ceylon black tea accented with caramel. Rich dark aroma, molasses notes. Decadent cup and brown sugar finish.

This tea smells absolutely amazing. It was a little too strong/bitter for me on its own (perhaps I oversteeped), but it's good with a little sweetener. I think this would be great for blending.
edit: Tastes great mixed with masala chai!
smooth taste and it dose not stick to your teeth :)
This tea has a somewhat delicate caramel scent. It's not too strong when brewed and not to faint. It has a really good flavor as well. Before sugar, the tea still has the caramel taste and a slight bitterness. With sugar, the caramel really pops out. Overall it's a very delicious tea.
The initial scent of the leaves worried me as it was quite strong. After brewing, it mellowed out nicely. The flavor, after sweetening a bit, was very much like good, mild, black tea had been sweetened with a wonderful, home-made caramel sauce. I can only imagine a touch of cream would make this experience truly decadent. I will definitely purchase more of this.
This is a good tea with a flavorful smell. The caramel taste is very faint though.
Yum! This tea makes for a great after dinner treat. I find the trick is to brew it at a lower temperature and for 2 minutes. I added sugar to the first steep but I found the second steep didn't need it.
Very smooth and 'warm-tasting', though the taste that makes me think more of butterscotch than caramel (I had to research the difference and it apparently all comes down to the type of sugar used). I happen to love butterscotch, so this was actually a bonus for me.
On it's own, I was a bit disappointed with this tea, but when I added cream and sugar... mmm, it tasted almost like how I picture butterbeer.
A little bit too artificial tasting, but it's a nice addition to a cup of british breakfast.
Absolutely the worst tea I have ever had, and not just from Adagio. I took exactly two sips of this--hot and iced--before pouring out the entire pot and throwing the sample away. The weird 'caramel' flavoring (it doesn't taste like caramel) is so artificial and cloying, it completely ruins this tea for me. I was still tasting the flavoring hours later, after eating and drinking other things! Terrible.
Love this tea! Rich flavor, even better mixed with chocolate chip, almond milk, and sugar!
I saw caramel and thought, eh, why not. Not had very good experiences with flavored tea so far, but I figured I'd try. Because caramel. It was actually really really good! Very yummy! Especially when sweetened a bit so it's sweet like caramel.
Not quite what I was expecting. Was hoping for a more distinct flavor.
This tea smells great right out of the package. I brewed a pot and the aroma of the steeping tea was delicious. This tea is flavorful, but not too overpowering. Adding a little milk and organic sugar make for a decadent treat!
This was absolutely wonderful. I am going to buy a larger quantity. Wasn't overly sweet, but that is perfect as it should just add flavor and not overpower.
This is smooth tea with a caramel taste. It is a special treat that satisfies my sweet tooth. Sharing this tea with a friend makes it twice as good when their eyes light up after the first sip
The caramel tea has a good flavor, but as I'm trying new teas I'm learning I do not care for 'sweet' teas so the caramel by itself was not very good. However, in my next cup I mixed it with plain black tea then it was just the right amount of sweet to offset the bitter in the black tea.
The smell as you open this bag is unbelievable. The caramel was sweet, creamy and surprisingly light for a black tea. I tried it alone, but I'm sure it would make a wonderful addition if blended with another tea. Add a touch of milk and honey for a deliciously indulgent cup.
I bought several flavored black teas to drink whilst kicking sugar. This caramel black tea is wonderful alone or with a bit of cream. Can only imagine how lovely it would be with a cube of sugar!
Oh man, my sensitive teeth are happy about this tea. Smells like caramel, both in the bag and when brewed, and tastes like it too! And it doesn't have as much sugar as the real thing! A great alternative to the candy, for those times when it's not available. Or if your teeth are sensitive to chewy things.
in the bag this tea smells sugary sweet and perfectly caramely. it brews slightly more bland than this, but the flavor still comes through.
This tea is wonderful. Rich and full bodied with a strong, dark caramel taste.
The sweetness of the caramel softens the bite of the ceylon, making this an easy to drink black tea with no need to add extra sugar or sweeteners.
I like caramel well enough, and while my first instinct is to say 'I wish it were sweeter,' I know that if it were, it might be a little too cloying. It's fine just the way it is, but it's still not one of my favorites.
Not a bad tea. I thought it tasted a bit bland, so I mixed caramel and vanilla together, and it tastes exactly like Irish Breakfast.
The smell right out of the bag is delicious. The tea, once brewed, is not to strong and not overly sweet. You are left with the aroma and aftertaste of caramel, but not to the point you are concerned about a sugar rush.
This has a nice caramel flavor, but perhaps not as sweet as expected. It makes a nice dessert tea.
Yum!! This tea tastes like a liquid caramel candy. I was impressed that even the re-brew tasted strongly. I did add a bit of sugar to bring out the taste. This is a lovely, soft, smooth tea that I can see mixing with many others. My husband thinks it is perfectly good on its own. I'm so glad I got a sample of this, and plan to buy more when I place my next order.
This is a very nice blend for a cold winter's night. It is very rich, sweet (even before I added a ton of sugar) and has notes that are almost smokey.
I really enjoy this tea. It actually tastes like caramel, unlike some 'caramel' teas. Next time, I'll buy it loose so I can blend it with other flavours.
Best tea I have EVER tasted. But the steap time is important. if it steaps to long you loose some of the caramel taste.
I'm loving this tea. It's great with milk and sugar. Almost like coffee.
I really, really like this tea. At first, it was weaker/lighter than I like, so I did add a little more leaves and let it steep longer than the 3 minutes listed on the package. After that, it was great! I usually put milk and sugar in black teas, but this tea had a warm caramel flavor that only needed a little bit of sugar added. (And is probably great without the sugar, if you don't have my sweet tooth)
The caramel flavor blended very nicely with the tea. This is good plain but really comes alive with a splash of cream and a little sugar.
It's a nice tea. Not absolutely fantastic, but with some milk and sugar, it's very cozy.
Warm, sweet, and rich, this tea was even better than I expected! It's very good plain or with just a drizzle of agave, but I found that it was even better with a tablespoon of cream! I recommend mixing it with the chocolate black tea- additionally, it wasn't quite strong enough for my taste at the recommended 3min steeping time, so I upped it to 5min. Perfect! Makes a wonderful desert tea.
This tea smells and tastes unique and delicious! Adagio tends to go a bit heavy-handed with artificial flavors, but the simplicity of Caramel really made it a treat.
When I opened the bag it smelled just like caramel candy. When I brewed it, it has a hint of caramel to it. Maybe if I added less suagr I would taste the caramel more.
Nice tea, always tastes great when I blend it into other teas! A bit plain when it's by itself. I like mixing it with the chocolate chai tea.
Pretty good for a sweetened tea, it's smooth but not overly complicated. Great if you just want a little pick-me-up.
Way too sweet for my taste. My mom liked it though!
Delicious! Simple and smooth. I think everything is sweet enough as is but this is again sweet enough.
The flavor is more like a sauce and less a candy caramel.
I mostly use this as a mixer with dark teas, but it's smells so very sweet and makes a great mixer with chai, oolong, chocolate and earl grey teas.
love this tea! but be careful not to let it steep to long.
The caramel tea was excellent. I noticed a lot of people were saying that it is good 'mixed' with another tea but I found it superb by itself. Honestly. It's delicious.
This was perfect with some milk and a bit of honey!
This tea is heavenly. Seriously. Amazing. With the addition of milk and sweetener it truly does taste like you're drinking caramel... well.. tea! I think I've found my new favorite.
This tea has a very strong Caramel taste, I mixed it 50/50 with my strawberry tea and I couldn't taste the strawberry so if you are going to experiment, be sure to go easy on this one if you want to taste anything else.
I really loved the taste! It's not exactly what I expected but it's still quite good especially with sugar and milk. It has a really sweet strong scent. It's not exactly a caramel scent, it's more like molasses, but it's good all the same. It's not really caramel tasting but it's still amazingly good and it has rapidly become one of my favorite teas.
