I love this tea it has an intense candy cane flavor. It does remind me of Christmas but I could drink this tea year round. I love minty teas.

Sweet peppermint aroma and one little clump of candy! Deeper than plain peppermint, perfect to wake up with!

A delicious, minty, smooth black tea. It's a dessert tea when I added a splash of heavy cream.

This is a solid tea. Nice refreshing peppermint background, and the black tea lends a welcome earthiness, almost a bit chocolatey.

This is a tasty peppermint black tea, but I don’t get candy cane so much as just peppermint. It’ll make your peppermint stick!

★★★★★

Nice, strong peppermint flavor. Perfect for the holidays or anytime. I didn’t need any additives and enjoyed it straight.

The tea's very true to its name, with a strong candy cane flavor that compliments the black tea.

This is a decent tea. Definitely tastes like black tea infused with candy canes. I don't think this flavor combination works for me on its own, but I think with creamer it could be a decent morning tea for the holiday season

★★★☆☆

If I'm being honest, peppermint tea isn't my favorite on it's own. It's tasty, for sure, but I prefer it alongside fruit for a refreshing drink, or chocolate for something more decadent. Especially a Christmas-y candy cane tea! It's good but not a go-to.

big fan! the peppermint taste definitely isn’t as strong as i was expecting it to be, and it’s rather mild! it does leave a very refreshing, minty feeling after too that i absolutely love

Normally I really enjoy peppermint tea. It's one of my go to favorites and I always have a stash on hand, so naturally I was expecting to love this tea as well. Sadly this one just isn't for me. I found the combination of the naturally peppermint leaves and peppermint candy flavor to clash with each other, resulting in a bitter somewhat artifical flavor.

When I opened my CommuniTEA packet I was disappointed there were no candy cane pieces. It still had a soft buttery-minty aroma though. The first steep was plain bitter and only tolerated by taking a bite of my cinnamon roll first. The second steep was brewed at a lower temp and therefore less bitter but also helped by adding 1/4 tsp of monk-fruit sweetener and 1 tsp of half and half. I wanted to like this because of its name (I LOVE mint) but found myself actually pouring out the first steep.

Update: I seem to have a few candy cane pieces this time and more of the peppermint leaves. I brewed at 195 F x 2 min 45 sec, then 3 min for the next 2 steeps. rock sugar was added for a sweetener. I am adding a star this time because it was not bitter at all and was pleasantly minty like I had originally hoped.

CommuniTEA Sample: A very nice black tea with some nice candy cane flavor in it. Not super minty, but it's there as a nice back note to the Ceylon. A nice, Christmas tea.

I’ve had this tea a few times and I love it. The peppermint is perfectly blended with the black tea. This one lifts the soul and puts a pep in the step. Happy sipping!

This is a nice smooth black tea with the flavor of candy cane. The light vanilla flavor smooths out the black tea. Great for the holidays.

11 Dec 2021 re-taste review: Still, I got no candy canes in my communiTEA packet this year! I musta been real bad for Christmas. My previous 29 Dec 2020 review, below, still holds true. However, since this blend tastes a little less intense with candy cane flavors this time, I’ll jack up the rating one more star! As an added note: If there really hadda’ been candy cane pieces in this, it would probably have made my head ‘splode!

⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ 29 Dec 2020 communiTEA review: I was bummed when I looked into my communiTEA packet and couldn’t locate any candy cane pieces! However, everybody else was there, right down to the moderate peppermint aromas. I was stoked and ready to start tastin’!

Thank goodness the peppermint leaves and candy cane flavoring came through with pleasantly mild minty flavors. I was chilled now. I added a bit of sugar to smooth tastes and sweeten everything out.

When warm, the Ceylon black tea added just the proper amount of dark chocolate-like flavors to provide an overall chocolate peppermint patty effect. Since I used a low temperature steep, there was very little bitterness noted from the tea.

The smooth peppermint flavor profile was just fine in my packet, even without the candy cane pieces. Anyway, they may have made this blend too minty and in-your-face. I enjoyed this tea just the way it was ... SO THERE, candy cane pieces! (4 mins @ 190ºF, 1/4 tsp sugar)

If you like peppermint tea , but prefer black tea to green, this is worth a try

A fresh peppermint scent made itself known as I opened today's packet. Steeping for 3 minutes at 212°F created a mahogany colored tea.

Waves of peppermint aromas are released as the tea steeped and cooled. The first sip brought blasts of cooling peppermint to the sinuses. A mild sweetness was present thanks to a few candy cane pieces. A bold black tea hides meekly behind the candy cane wielding peppermint. Menthol blasts keep coming as the candy cane exerts it's powerful force.

This tea is the closest I've gotten to standing in 'the mint room' at a certain local tea factory tour. The peppermint is sharp and strong, enough to clear the sinuses. Depending on your love or dislike of mint, this may or may not be your cup of tea. Overall, I like this one but probably wouldn't have it every day.

I really, really enjoyed this Candy Cane blend. Is it because I made it into a tea Latte complete with whip and festive sprinkles? Possibly, but the blend is well suited to be a little extra over the top holiday indulgence! Even if its technically morning when I made this sweet indulgence, it is the holiday season afterall. 212, 4 min, sweetener, 2tsp powder milk and a over sized dollop of whip & don't forget the holiday sprinkles!

This is more of a mint tea to me, than candy cane. It is sweet and minty, but doesn't quite capture the essence of a candy cane. My CommuniTEA packet didn't have any candy cane pieces, so that might have made a difference.

Sipping along with the CommuniTEA: Strong peppermint with buttery notes noticed from the dry ingredients and packet. Once steeped for 3 mins at 190°F, I notice honey ceylon tea notes with a hint of butter mints. When I take a sip, I get a nice astringent black tea with butter mints and a dry somewhat tannic finish with a subtle mint bite that lingers on the palate. This reminds me off dropping butter mints into a nice strong black tea.

Todays communiTEA was creamy and minty. As others have said it's a liquid candy cane...and that really is the perfect description.

Mine was more minty than candy cane tasting as I didn't have any candy cane pieces in my packet. Still an enjoyable tea. May have to purchase so I can taste it with the candy canes.

I didn't have any candy cane pieces in my tea but it didn't really need it. I really enjoyed this minty tea more than I thought. It has a sweet mint taste (like my gum ). I enjoyed reading reviews about adding vanilla and more candy canes. I look forward to trying that. I always have left over candy canes.

A tasty brew it made!

Review from last year: I had a different review for this before, but not sure why? This tea has slightly off flavoring for me, more Altoid than candy cane. It does work with some play, including brewing at a lower temp and mixing in your choice of sugars, creams, or other teas. I felt it was yummy with vanilla creamer, and blended with some decaf vanilla, as well.

Candy cane is a really nice, smooth, black tea. It has a subtle peppermint flavor. I would like it to have even more, but I think it's very pleasant as is.

Definitely a wintertime favorite! Sweet peppermint without being overwhelming

Minty, very very minty. If a strong mint flavor and aroma are not your preference, ignore this tea. If you'd like to drink a melted candy cane this tea is 100% for you. I love mint, and peppermint candy, but even I found this to be just a tiny bit overpowering. I did enjoy the tea enough that I would consider purchasing it again, but not enough to give it a permanent home in my tea collection. A good Christmas treat tea.

I love this tea, I got a sample mini tin last year for Christmas and decided I needed to add it to my collection. It has a good amount of Minty flavor, and reminds me of the black mint tea that Teavana used to sell.

I like this tea - the peppermint comes through really well but I m getting almost no 'candy cane' sugary flavor. If you like black tea with peppermint, then you ll enjoy this one. @adagioteas

This is one of my must-have teas. I did take almost a year to get through my tin last time, but I had several other teas I was trying, and I typically drink more tea in the fall, winter, and early spring. When I made a cup of tea with my fresh batch this time, I forgot how much the peppermint packs a punch! I will keep this one on hand, but I think this is one that is better to order in small quantities because the peppermint does fade over time... it still tastes good, but if you like that icy peppermint feel, you'll want it fresh. One thing I have noticed with this tea- you can oversteep this by several minutes (or accidentally forget that you made it!) and it doesn't become bitter. I usually do drink this with stevia and a little cream.

I thought I would love it because I love mint and candy canes and tea, but my husband and I both had to dump our tea out. It has this unpleasant aftertaste that reminds me of cough syrup. We steeped it at somewhere just a little under boiling for 4 minutes and added some milk and honey. We do this with all of our teas, and this one should have been a good candidate for that treatment, but it was unbearable. @adagioteas

I got this tea because I love peppermint but unfortunately the peppermint was wayyy too powerful. The smell of the tea was great but drinking the tea was like eating toothpaste for me

I had my hopes up for this flavor, because I love peppermint tea, but there is something in here that just misses the target for me. I don't really taste candy cane. I definitely get peppermint, but none of the nice sweetness one gets from a candy cane :(
