It sure does smell like Christmas! I'm not a fan of mint teas, but this one isn't too bad, it's actually tolerable as a non-mint fan. It definitely leaves a lingering minty feel in your mouth.
This wonderfully smooth, minty treat that will fill you with a warm Christmas spirit and leave you jolly. There's no need to wait for a visit from Old Saint Nick to enjoy this yuletide favorite.

It sure does smell like Christmas! I'm not a fan of mint teas, but this one isn't too bad, it's actually tolerable as a non-mint fan. It definitely leaves a lingering minty feel in your mouth.
Upon opening the package, I saw the black tea leaves and a sprinkling of peppermint leaves, a chunk of candy cane and some shavings of candy cane. It had a hint of peppermint to the nose.
While steeping, the peppermint aroma was highly noticed.
First sip - whammo. Major kick of peppermint. It nearly knocked my slippers off my feet. I added a tip of a teaspoon of clover honey and the flavours balanced out and it tasted perfectly creamy, dreamy and candy cane-y. I forgot to try the steeped tea with cream as I do not typically add cream to mint teas. After reading the reviews, I think I will try it next time.
Steeped for 3 minutes @212.
Peppermint flavor is at the front of this sip, leaving sweet, slightly buttery notes on the tongue. This bright feel contrasts seamlessly against the malty cocoa flavors of the black tea base. This could have been an astringent combo, but it is incredibly smooth. Perfectly done!
Candy Cane is proper way to launch your December Month! A hot cup of Holiday goodness! I experienced this tea to be a Minty-Vanilla-Buttery dream! I definitely need Candy Cane in my Tea Stash for the Winter! Bon Hiver! (3 mins @ 212° with a dash of Rock Sugar Crystals)
I like this a lot. This tastes a lot like straight candy cane with a slight black tea base and is more than just a mint tea. Could not really see myself drinking this outside of the cooler months but very festive.
One of my favorite teas. So glad I can get this all year long.
Still love this tea. Only wish there was a decaf version.
A little *too* minty for my taste!
Scent-wise, I noted strong mentholy-mint and a hint of vanilla, likely from the added 'candy cane flavoring.'
I brewed 200 degrees for 3 mins. In the cup, it still smelled minty enough to practically clear out my sinuses, almost giving it a 'cold medicine' or 'throat spray' quality, and the taste was the same. I normally drink my teas black, but added a splash of milk to tone down the mintiness which made it much more pleasant to drink.
Overall festive, but a bit too minty for me, and sadly no little candy cane pieces in my packet. I think this would have been perfectly minty with only the peppermint and candy pieces; no need for the added flavoring boost.
Today's CommuniTEA is Candy Cane (12-1-22). Upon opening my packet, I had a decent amount of all ingredients. I made it hot with some milk thistle and black tea honey. It is a pleasantly minty tea and perfect for the start of December. I love this tea and would highly recommend it!
Oh man. This was so good. Absolutely accurate rendition of a liquid candy cane. It wasn't even astringent from the black tea (steeped for 2.5 minutes) and was even a little creamy, as other reviewers mentioned. This is a wake-you-the-eff-up tea and I loved every sip.
This has a nice, light peppermint flavor that isn't overwhelming. I was initially hesitant because I don't love super pepperminty drinks, but it has just enough to be interesting without being off-putting. Probably not a new personal favorite, but pleasant for a single cup.
The peppermint feel is strong, and the tea is sweeter than I expected. It’s good, but not great to me—but then, I’m not a huge peppermint fan. I generally don’t eat candy canes, so I think this one just isn’t for me.
Can't go wrong with this one in December. Smooth, creamy and very minty, a great way to wake up Christmas morning.
Peppermint aroma comes wafting out of the bag when opened. Look inside and see a sea of candy cane pieces. Steep it and taste the peppermint goodness. I love this tea. 12.22: Still love this tea.
In the bag: Black, brittle leaves of Ceylon form the base. Yellow-green peppermint leaves, roughly chopped, scattered throughout. A few tiny candy cane bits.
On the nose (pre-steep): Smells almost EXACTLY like a candy cane, but with two distinct differences. First, I can pick out a pure peppermint flavor apart from the candied variety - likely due to the presence of peppermint leaves. Second, a cloying texture is here that I don't get with canes.
On the nose (post-steep): A more direct perception of pure peppermint, though I still get notes of cane. Intense.
On the tongue (pre-sweetener): Tastes much like the candy variety, though the Ceylon adds an interesting twist (see what I did there?). The chocolate notes from the Ceylon compliment the peppermint. No bitterness.
On the tongue (post-sweetener): This touch of sweet picked up the peppermint and cane notes, pushing Ceylon to the background.
Opinion: A splendid tea. I'm a fan of flavored blacks and of candy canes, so why not put them together? I recommend a low temp and a touch of sweetener to make this Santa Claus come to town.
Side note: I would LOVE to try a candy cane and pu erh tea. Pu erh avoids Ceylon's bitter side effects.
Preparation: 3 min @ 195 ℉, ½ tsp monk fruit sweetener
This was very minty and I liked it brewed 5 min to bring more of the black tea out. This stayed minty through 3 steeps. My husband loves mint and really liked how strongly minty this was.
UPDATED from 12/11/21:
“Take a trip down Candy Cane Lane with me…” Ah, peppermint aroma fills my nose as the CommuniTea packet opens. I steep it at a lower temp to create a dark amber liquid. The hint of peppermint greets my tongue. This is lovely. I add ½ teaspoon of sweetener (to 10 oz) and some heavy whipping cream, which smooths the flavor out into a sweet treat (but not overly saccharine like candy). I steep it a second time and stick in a peppermint stick as a stir - wow, that (plus the cream) really makes this too syrupy for me, but does add more peppermint flavor. “Candy Cane Lane, bring a friend this holiday/ Bring a friend who loves to play, we'll eat all the candy canes/ Candy canes/ We'll eat candy canes…” (3 mins @ 195F + sweetener and cream).
One of my favorite Adagio teas! Sweet and very minty...just like a candy cane! Makes me think of Christmas every time! Not one to over brew. I brew at 212F for 2.5 minutes. mmmmmm!
12/11/21 - Still love this tea! Sweet & minty...definitely feel like I'm having a treat everytime I brew a cup! It's lovely with a bit of cinnamon, cloves and orange added. Christmas in a cup!
12/1/2022 - still a favorite! Really tasty with just a bit of SF chocolate syrup stirred in. :) Mmmmmm. A real comfort tea for cold late fall/winter mornings!
Updated Review: CommuniTEA 12-1-22
Candy Cane 4.5 stars
Suggested steeping directions: 3 minutes at 212°F I steeped this tea for 3 minutes at 190 to avoid potential bitterness, in approximately 11 oz of water with 1.5 tsp of rock/tea sugar. Oddly enough, upon opening this smelled rather fruity...no notable mint aroma. Visually, there was only tea to be seen. There were no candy cane pieces present. I added a small piece of candy cane and 4 white chocolate chips, which only partially dissolved during the steeping. The aroma remained mild while steeping, although some of mint did make itself known, and although there was no coconut, that seemed to be present as well, though very faintly. This tea is a little weaker than I remember it, perhaps because of the size of this sample and the lack of candy cane. It did become stronger as it steeped. I’d give this a 4 star rating, but since I liked it so much the first time, I’m going to average my two ratings and say 4.5 stars, rounded up to 5. This remains an enjoyable tea.

I was really excited about this tea because I love candy cane in my tea. I also really enjoy peppermint. The spearmint and vanilla were a bonus. I added 4 white chocolate chips during the steeping time.
There was a strong, but not overwhelming smell of peppermint and spearmint upon opening the packet and everything seemed to be present, including a couple of candy cane pieces (2). So far, so good.
I steeped the tea, and four white chocolate chips that I added, at 212* for 4 minutes in 12 oz of water. 1 tsp of tea sugar was also added. Next time I will try to drink this lovely tea more slowly as to better savor it. Definitely a winner.
Today's CommuniTea packet is candy cane with black tea, candy cane pieces, candy cane flavor and peppermint leaves. I generally don't use sugar in my tea and I don't like sprinkles and such because they tend to muck up an otherwise clear tea, but candy cane pieces tend to melt more cleanly than other candies. And they're mint. Yum. So I love the aroma and can tolerate the candy. Not a favorite tea, but one that I'm happy to drink. Brewed in 12 ounces of 200-degree water for about three minutes.
I love candy canes so this was perfect!! It reminds me of the trader joe's tea of the same flavor. I loved the candy cane pieces.
Omg this is exactly what I was hoping this would be! I love candy canes it definitely hits that mark.
Candy Cane is one of my favorite teas but I enjoy it year round. I find it refreshing any time of the year.
Best Christmas time or anytime of the year tea! Love the peppermint notes which add a bit of alertness based on smell
Combining peppermint with black tea gives you a lovely cup of tea! It even brings in the hint of vanilla and sugar that you'd expect from a candy cane.
Love the fresh mint flavor
This is great! It tastes like Christmas morning. Dont steep too long becomes super strong.
This tea was my favorite from last year's advent calendar. I finally got around to ordering it and I am excited that it still is just as amazing as my memories. The best peppermint tea you'll ever have and it's caffeinated. A must for this scientist!
Drinking this tea in August is like experiencing Christmas in summer! Perfect amount of peppermint, not too strong to hide the taste of the tea.
Love this tea. I drink it all year round. Clean with GI health benefits with the added fun of candy cane.
Perfect for peppermint lovers not to strong or overwhelming
I love mint tea. This is a perfect candy cane favor. I almost don’t need to added /use a peppermint stick as a stirring stick … but why break a life long habit .. lol
What a great combination, candy canes and peppermint. One of my favorites.
This is one of my favorite teas, which I really wasn’t expecting. I like that it’s a peppermint with caffeine. It’s great when my stomach is upset or my allergies are bothering me.
THIS TEA blew my mind. It’s a new favorite and must have!! It has a touch of sweetness as is, and needs nothing added for a delicious caffeine boost tea.
As others have said, this really does taste like a liquid candy cane! The mint / candy cane flavor is very strong, so only try this if you like mint!
Love this tea! It’s perfect at Christmas time, and I share it with all my co-workers.
I love peppermint tea’s and this one is no exception. It has a beautiful natural sweeteners and the black tea base really comes through. I love adding just a tiny bit of 2% milk and sugar with this one. It is an excellent cup
Fortunately, this festive-titled Candy Cane tea isn't limited only to wintertime release! Almost dark-cocoa in depth and full-bodied in flavor, this blend infuses heavy, sizzling, sweet-mint--great for freshening up your breath AND giving you a caffeine kick to launch into the day. It's powerfully minty, but if you love peppermint leaf tea, that fact will only keep you falling in love more and more with each sip. Even when over-steeped, it's good-natured and unlikely to turn bitter. I love drinking this one in early mornings or afternoons when I need a perk-up. There's something about mint that just does the trick!
Really enjoy this hot brewed. The peppermint flavor comes through, but is not overwhelming.
This one was *okay.* It wasn’t bitter, which I appreciate since straight black tea can be a bit too bitter for me sometimes, but the candy cane flavor still felt a bit lacking to me. One of my family members loved it, but I ended up letting the pot I made sit in my fridge for a while, since I didn’t end up feeling inclined to drink it all and no one else really touched it. I did finish it though. If you’re looking for something with a sweetness to it, this might not be for you—unless you add a fair amount of sweetener or sugar, I think.
Sent this as a gift to my boyfriend that likes mint tea! He loved it :>
Really yummy , warm and cozy tastes just like Christmas!
Favorite, favorite, favorite when I need something sweet. This is my happy tea.
I love this better than regular Peppermint tea. Helps with a sour stomach and headaches and is super yummy!
This tea has a strong minty flavor that can be a bit overpowering for some. If you don’t like a strong minty taste I would not strep it as long and it should be good. The black tea in it adds an interesting flavor that is not bad. Be careful how long you steep the tea for as it can seem like you brushed your teeth and then drank tea if it sits to long.
This is a creamy candy cane. I’m not a big mint person but this one is so creamy and perfect. Perfect balance of mint and creamy. Also it’s nothing like a mint or spearmint tea. Almost like a vanilla candy cane. One of my all time favorite holiday teas ever.
Update: I lowered the steeping temperature on this tea and also tried it mixed half and half with decaf vanilla as a late afternoon pick me up with half the caffeine. This is a truly delicious (and easy to mix myself) little blend.
This is a delicious minty black tea that tastes great with just a small amount of agave nectar added. A real pick-me-up on a Monday morning!
My favorite flavor! I drink it every morning!! I love the minty flavor first thing in the morning. It’s perfect minty flavor but you can’t brew for more than 3 minutes or it taste bitter.
Another great breakfast tea. Plenty of caffeine and a fresh minty taste to wake you up.
The perfect winter tea! Sweet minty flavors followed by the strong black tea make it the perfect drink to warm you from the inside out!
