Ceylon black tea infused with sweetly tart berries. Floral-fruity and bakery aroma, like fresh berry scones.

Berry-forward black teas and I just don't mix. Judging by the other positive reviews, I might be the minority. 😆

The first time I brewed this I did not like it. However, a year later I brewed it again in CT and quite enjoy it. The flavors benefit from additional sweetening. I let it infuse for 15 min. And poured over ice.

I think this tea tastes a bit bitter. But you can definitely pick up on the BlackBerry notes.

This black tea smells very fragrant when you open it and it tastes great too. A very nice berry flavor which compliments the black tea well.

★★★☆☆

More raspberry than blackberry and a little too one-note for me.

Love black tea, love blackberries, this one has my name on it! Scented with raspberry, the blackberry flavor is potent enough to distinguish it from any other berry. It's one of my favorite teas to blend with. So fruity and versatile, it makes everything better!

In the bag: Mainly black tea. A few bits of raspberry leaves and stems.

On the nose (pre-steep): Sweet, jammy blackberry with a hint of raspberry.

On the nose (post-steep): Blackberry remains the star, but without its sugary support. Some unsweetened cocoa is poking through the berry.

On the tongue (pre-sweetener): Only a smidge of blackberry flavor made it here. It's mainly just a black tea. Mild astringency.

On the tongue (post-sweetener): Sweetener brings out the berry just a bit.

Opinion: A pleasant tea, but not one of my favorites. And I say that as one whose favorite tea category is flavored black. The berry goodness didn't make it past the steep. And I have no idea why the blend has raspberry leaves, which are the highway to bitterness.

Preparation: First steep 2.5 min, second steep 5 min. Both @ 195 ℉. ½ teaspoon monk fruit sweetener.

UPDATED 5-18-23: Today's CommuniTEA is Blackberry. I have had a few horrible experiences with this tea, but I tried it anyway today. As I thought a lower temp works better with this tea and it's better if you drink it while hot, don't let it cool too much. I added some manuka honey to help with the flavor a bit and it really worked! As a result, I have upped my rating of this tea from 1 star to 2 stars. I am wondering if I possibly had a bad bag the 1st time? But I'm not sure. I would now only recommend this tea if you truly love black teas and love blackberry-flavored stuff.

ORIGINAL: I brewed my Blackberry (flavored black tea) at a lower temp, for a shorter time, tried dressing it up with raspberry leaves, black tea honey... Despite everything, it just has this awful medicine flavor for me. It was so bad I had to dump it out, I couldn't drink it at all. I am very sad about this tea and I do not think I would recommend it.

When I opened my CommuniTEA packet, I was met with juicy aromas of blackberries and the robustness of black tea. I steeped the tea for 3 minutes. The blackberry flavor has a lot of depth to it, especially in combination with the black tea. This is a nice tea!

First sniff, faint fruity scent. I must admit though, I've been eating freshly picked blackberries from the time I was 4 years old. During all that time, including now, I've never once noticed them having a strong decipherable scent. Artificial blackberry stuff - well that you can smell a mile away.

First Steep 3 mins @ 195 F
I was so eager to try this tea that I completely forgot to take a picture of the leaves for my database, and I forgot to sample it w/o sweetener because I planned to steep then stick it in the fridge to cool..Ooops.

First taste hot with sweetener
Faint berry tones, nice flavor.
I think the berry is faint, but its quite nice. I'll be enjoying more of this throughout the summer - I intend to blend with it, but may occasionally cold brew some for the knitting group (although I'll likely blend that too :D)

UPDATED from 5/7/22: There is a floral aroma coming from the CommuniTEA (could be the raspberry leaves) and the first steep (at a slightly lower temp to avoid bitterness) is a ruby red/amber color. The second steep is more golden/amber so something gave out. Both are delicious with ¼ teaspoon of sweetener (to 10 oz) and heavy whipping cream. Really fruity, delicious tea. (3 mins @ 200ºF + sweetener and cream).

This tea is tasty with the blackberry and black tea flavors. I steeped at 190 for 2 minutes as Jim suggested and it was a perfect companion for my red raspberry preserves on an English muffin. I added a little sugar to bring out the flavors. Yum!

This tea has so much flavour that even my husband enjoys it now

The blackberry taste ended up being a lot lighter than expected and, when present, very tart. Tried multiple varying steeps and couldn't get past that; maybe I just like it better in blends than on its own.

I love the smell and the flavor. I thought it tasted just like eating blackberries. It can get tart pretty quickly if you overbrew it at all, which is great if you enjoy a bit of a tart flavoring, but not so much if you don't.

I really wanted to like this tea. But it seemed a little on the one dimensional side. It was okay for an afternoon tea with a fruit flavored dessert. But otherwise, meh.

The Raspberry overpowers the tea, but great iced, too!

This tea is my daily go to, I've drank it basically every day for years. I find that it brews good 3 times.

Great taste, very pleasant aroma. Not particularly good cold, but a great tea served hot

A bit too tart for my liking, but it wasn't bad at all. Added a few sweetener packets too balance out that tartness and it was a nice fruity tea blend to sip while I did some stuff around the house.

This is my new favorite by far! Best flavor ever!!! I really love this tea with some half-and-half and Stevia. It’s perfect.
My husband enjoys this tea with me

A good cup of black tea, with strong scent and hint of a taste of blackberry. It was very nice for the holidays, and a very nice change of pace.

Absolutely one of my fav s!!! Love the mild warm taste hot or iced. It's my daily morning tea during cold mornings & iced during warmer days. Still my FAV!!! I like weaker teas, but lately have been steeping this one for 3 mins & enjoying every sip.

In summer or winter, I drink iced tea every day. Adagio Blackberry tastes like summer on a winter day. It's excellent hot too!

Great scent and flavor. I actually mix with pomegranate to create Florida iced tea. Yes, for everyday year around

I really enjoy this as an iced tea, more so than as a hot tea. I brew it hot to get maximum flavor, let it cool to room temperature, and then put it in the fridge. That's the way an iced tea should be made :)

Nice berry flavor, but a lightly too sweet for me. I prefer a bit more sharpness, or bitterness, in my black tea.

Delicious summer iced tea. Something about the sweet and tart that really quenched my thirst. Will definitely be making again.

★★★☆☆

I found this one to be pretty middle of the road. While not overly artificial, the flavor wasn't quite without that plastic berry feel. It would probably mix well with another, complimentary flavor.

★★★★★

Like a fresh blackberry patch. I love blackberries and I know other tea companies make blackberry teas but this seems so much fresher and livelier. I will get this again.

A pleasant tea. The blackberry really comes through. It goes bitter fast, so make sure to pay attention to the steeping time. Three minutes is perfect.

Very fruity aroma, didn't care for the flavor very much but it wasn't entirely unpleasant. (Cold brewed for 10 hours)

★★★★★

The flavor is great alone, but use this in my 'crazy teas', where I mix many flavors together to find that perfect mix.

★★★★★

The taste of this tea is like eating fresh blackberries

★★★★☆

Good flavor though slightly bitter. I like mixing it with other fruit teas.

★★★★★

As with many flavored teas, this smells stronger that it tastes. Although I usually don't add anything to my tea, I did add honey to this one hoping that it would enhance the blackberry flavor. Boy did it! With half or less of a teaspoonful of honey, this blackberry tea glows with fruitiness! I imagine it will be equally scrumptious as iced tea. If you're disappointed with the lackluster flavor of this tea, try adding just a hint of sweetness and you'll be wonderfully surprised.

★★★★★

This has a nice fruit flavor and blends well with vanilla and cream but is nice in itself.

I love this tea! It's great hot and cold brewed. Add a little heavy cream and it's like a dessert tea. The blackberry flavor is nice and strong, not artificial tasting.

★★★★☆

Very fruity aroma. Almost too much.. I would have preferred the 'natural blackberry flavor' which is added to be more subtle.

★★★★☆

Beautiful flavor, but there's a bitter aftertaste. Would have given this tea 5 star had it not been for the bitterness.

★★★☆☆

I am not a black tea drinker as such. I do like my tea being English, but also being English I used to pick wild blackberries in the woods near my house even if they hadn't ripened yet. My mother always told me 'it serves you right getting belly ache eating blackberries before they're ripe'. I love blackberries. Enough of that back to this tea, blackberry taste is there but not enough. I not a big fan of this tea as it is very very strong, I like milk in my strong tea.

★★★★☆

I enjoyed this tea. I would probably not buy it again just because there are so many flavors to choose from.
