Sorry to say, I think this is my least favorite tea from Adagio (and I've tried nearly every tea that can be made into blends). Does it make any sense to say that this tea reminds me of cherry cough syrup (as others have also said) while somehow failing to remind me at all of cherry? And setting aside issues of fruit flavor recognizability, it just doesn't taste nice. There are *so many* superior teas, flavored and unflavored, to be found here. If you are carefully picking and choosing what to order, my recommendation is absolutely to skip this one.

a trippy tea, but more or less alright but man trippy stuff mix with life cream or something

This was alright. I probably won't be trying it again. I couldn't really taste the cherry flavor.

It's not a bad tea, but it has a strange aftertaste that I'm not overly fond of.

A simple tea with a nice cherry flavor. I prefer the cherry flavor in green or white tea, though.

I adore cherry in almost every form, and this didn't disappoint me at all. A good black tea with a nice cherry flavor, it's great for something in the middle of the day when you're just looking for something sweet.

I found the scent of the tea when I opened the package quite wonderful. However, the tea itself has an underwhelming flavor. I like my tea to have a distinct flavor and this one is barely noticeable.

Smells like Kool-aid and I don't really like that, but other friends have expressed that they love the smell. It does taste great though, and a little goes a long way when it comes to blending.

Tasted 'OK'. Not my favorite, but acceptable. I don't have the exact descriptive word to describe it. It did taste like cherry, but it wasn't the same cherry flavor I was hoping for.

It's OK. Nothing spectacular. It smells amazing, it's a little bitter if you steep it for the entire time.

I really like this tea, it tastes great on its own and also blends well with other teas.

Nice cherry taste and smells very strong. Only real drawback is that to some of the people I let taste it thought it smelled like cough syrup.

I wasn't expecting it to smell so strongly of cherries, but it is amazing! It also works great mixed with other teas (I mixed it with Lapsang Souchong and Irish Breakfast) to add a nice hint of cherry.

Dis tea is so whack, not the good whack, the bad whack. Dis tea be tasting like cough syrup, bought a lot of it and I be regretting it yo. Don't get dis tea.

Reading all these references to cough syrup but I like the smell. I like the taste too, not too strong of a cherry flavor - will need to try it iced too.

Something about this tea wasn't quite there for me. When I first opened the bag, I thought it smelled a bit like cough syrup. The first sip had a very 'candied' taste. the flavor was a bit fake. fter a few more sips, it sort of mellowed out and became less noticeable, but then it didn't really taste like cherry...

Way too cherry flavor for me. It was really tart and just not very appealing.

I wanted so badly to like this tea, but it just wasn't to be. I got the cough syrup smack when I opened the bag, which put me on my guard off the bat. The taste of the tea isn't medicinal, but it is, in my opinion, very artificial. I think this would be good in a blend, but it's not something that I'll drink by itself.

A little too artificial tasting to be one of my favorites, but it's nice mixed into other teas, especially creamy ones.

I don't know what people are talking about when they claim this stuff smells like cough syrup. If you've got cough syrup that smells like this stuff, I'd love the name.

It tastes like sweet cherries. I haven't tried blending it yet, but I bet it would go well with the cream tea.

This fruity tea is an excellent summer treat. It is delicious with sugar or honey.

The flavour is alright. It's better with the cream or vanilla teas.

The smell is a bit artificial, which made me nervous. I've had a few too many 'fake cherry' flavored teas from other companies, but this black tea was super delicious! The cherry flavor is very natural and it doesn't overpower the ceylon, I really liked it!

Good solid tea with slightly tart cherry hints. I steeped mine for five minutes (two minutes longer than suggested) and added milk and sugar and was pleased with the outcome. Gentle but definitely present cherry aroma that was both a bit sweet and tart, which was a nice surprise.

I didn't get the cough syrup vibe that a lot of other reviewers complain about. This wasn't quite 'cherry' enough for me, but it's not bad if you like a more sweetly cherry taste. I think I'll stick with the raspberry in the future though.

I have to second the notion this smells a little like cough syrup, but the taste is not too bad at all. A little weak for my liking though.

I really like this tea alone and combined with the coconut tea. I know a lot of people say it smells like cough syrup and yes, it does. But I've always really liked that smell.

I was expecting more of a natural cherry flavor but it reminded me of maraschino cherries

A dark, fruity cherry flavor that blessedly avoids tasting like cough syrup or cherry popsicles. Not being a huge fan of fruit-flavored teas, I was duly impressed. I knocked off a star because I think I would have preferred a lighter, fresher (grassier) cherry flavor--which isn't to say this is a bad tea--it's just not exactly what my tastebuds prefer.

It tastes just like drinking cherries! It is fantastic and definitely worth every sip.

This is a tasty tea. I'm not completely sold on drinking it by itself though. I plan on mixing it with blackberry or something similar to hopefully give it that little kick it needs.

What is it with Adagios cherry flavor? It hits you like a smack in the face. The smell is extreme cherry cough syrup and the taste is cloying and artificial. Since some people like this, perhaps it's just my personal sense of taste that can't deal with this. I would love to find a cherry flavor where the taste is subtle and fruity.

Tastes like medicine, smells a little off putting too.

Sweet, floral, and sophisticated. The more I drink it, the more I like it. Good hot, but gets better as it gets colder.

This tea is very good. The cherry smells strong when brewing and in the bag, but it's more of a gentle, fruity flavor when you drink it.

Normally, it's a bit worrying to see 'cherry flavor' in a tea, but I was pleasantly surprised with this. It lacks that sharp medicinal flavor found in most cherry blends and was one of the smoothest teas (fruit teas, anyway) I've tasted. I'd recommend it over the Teavana cherry blends with confidence!

A really nice, light, fruity tea! It smells really cherry-like in the bag, but the fragrance mellows out once brewed. Doesn't even need sugar!

When you first open the packet, you get a wonderfully strong smell of cherry. A delicious smell that invigorates the taste buds, and gets the saliva glands working in full.
Once steeped, the smell winds down, and likewise the taste is strong enough to make a lovely, sweet cup of tea, and yet light enough not to overwhelm.
Great with a spoon or so of sugar, and no milk. Absolutely lovely!

I made an iced tea with it. Not the most pleasant cherry taste. More the type of cherry taste you would expect from a cough drop or air freshener. Might be more pleasant to someone who hasn't eaten an actual fresh cherry before.

Very cherry aroma in bag and when steeping, tastes good alone and blends well with ofther black tea.

Kind of medicinal tasting if you steep for too long, but it's not bad with a tiiiiinnyyy bit of sugar. The cough syrup-esque smell is a lot stronger in the bag than it is when you steep it, so don't let the smell deter you! It's not a bad tea, and it's also good iced with some sugar.

I rounded up the review but this tea was probably only about 2.5 stars to me. The cherry flavor is very medicinal and cough syrup tasting. I definitely won't be getting more of this flavor.

Great cherry flavor. Will make it iced also in my new iced ingenuitea.
Have made this iced and is very good.

Nice bright tea with good cherry flavor. Even better when combined with chocolate-flavored tea!
