Like some of the reviewers have said, it does have a strong medicinal smell. after brewing, the taste is not quite medicinal as the smell, but it is still off-putting.
Black tea with the playful tanginess of rose hips, and the deep cherry sweetness is kept in balance with a touch of juicy, grounding blackberry. Iced, it is refreshing and delightful. Served hot, with a splash of cream, it is decadent and dreamy.

It smelled better in the loose tea version than the tea bag version.
Light, sweet notes of cherry make it a pick-me-up for later in the day for me. tasty, but not overwhelming.
This tea had a very nice flavor and was not too sweet. Enjoyed it.
A little strong on its own, but mixed with other flavors, like chocolate and coconut, this one is a winner!
The black tea in this tastes rather flat, it doesn't have a lot of body. The cherry flavor tastes somewhat artificial. Ok, not spectacular.
Cherry is pleasant, although I would hope for more of a tart flavor myself.
I like this tea because I like cherry favoring. It has the smell of cherry favor medication, but when I make a stronger pot, I can taste the cherries in the tea.
This tea is nothing special. It's not horrible, but it's nothing that sticks out. The taste is just kind of blah. Adagio has much better teas.
This tea is my favorite of any I buy. I combine it with the black dragon pearls. Really great. My all time favorite. Even my friends love this tea.
It makes me think of a cherry pie, I just wish they had a black cherry flavor as well. Until then this is definitely good and I will enjoy it.
CHERRY WAS GOOD. CRANBERRY WAS BETTER!!!
I've been hearing a lot about the health benefits of cherry so I ordered this tea. It has a great flavor--not too overpowering--and is great on its own or blended with other flavors.
Did not care for this one, did not have a very good flavor
I really hate leaving negative reviews when I love Adagio so much, but the cherry tea ...is kind of unfortunate. Like, it smells like a cross between maraschino cherries and liquid medicine? And then it's mega bitter after a very short (comparatively. I usually can steep most of my black teas for ten minutes no problem) steep-time, but the bitter is like laced through with that same artificial-tasting 'cherry' flavor that's... medicine. I'm really sad about this. the herbal cherry blend is much better! I was hoping this would be like that but with less actual fruit contents so that I could put cream in it (which, for the record, is totally possible, but does not really help anything) without it curdling up. So, yeah, this is not one I'll likely be ordering again.
nice cherry flavor, not artificial tasting at all. I think this tea would be very nice combined with another flavor
Tastes like fresh picked cherries from the tree in my backyard.
This tea has an authentic cherry flavor. I don't think it will be my personal favorite, but I was pleasantly impressed with it's cheerful cherry flavor. As good as it is, I like some of your other teas even more!
Not great, not bad. I don't normally like fruit flavored black teas, but it came as a sample in my order.
The cherry was a bit weaker than expected, but other than that, it's pretty accurately cherry flavor flavored. (To clarify, it tastes like cherry flavoring, not actual cherries.) Will probably enjoy this one more in blends, but it's pretty decent.
I was really looking forward to this flavor, though we really didn't like the cherry. It tasted more like medicine than a berry.
Like any black tea, becomes bitter when steeped too lng
Cherry flavored teas are one of my favorites! I like this one
Definitely smells strongly of cough syrup while brewing, which made me nervous. Turned out not too bad, although I'd like it better if the cherry flavor were a little stronger.
Smelled like potpourri or some kind of perfume. If it barely stated anything like cherry...it was ruined by the smell. If you ask for a cherry tea...you should get a cherry tea! i would be very skeptical to pay any more money to try something else from this company.
Not bad but I don't feel like I could really taste the cherry. It was subtle.
I don't really like the smell of this tea, and I would only drink this mixed into others. It has a strong artificial smell and flavor. It might be something others like, and a friend of mine didn't find the smell bad, but I had only a small amount mixed into a signature blend. It's not for me.
Not bad, but have tasted better, Had a slight bite to it.
My mom loves this tea and requests it by the large bag. She doesn't think it smells or tastes like cough syrup in or out of the bag/before or after brewing. She loves cherries. She doesn't add anything to this tea. Three minutes brings out a good taste - tried it myself.
An interesting flavor-floral without being overpowering. Really good iced.
Not a lot of flavor unless you brew to the point of the tea cooling off entirely.
This was just personal preference. Cherry-flavored things keeps sounding good in theory and tasting like cough medicine in practice, to me.
I don't like cherry anything, but decided to pick this up as a free sample because I do enjoy trying new things and have discovered some teas I love in flavors I never would have tried. This was a good tea alone. I would buy it again and my mother asked me to purchase a larger bag for her. I didn't get the cough syrup flavor - just a subtle cherry flavor. Would also be good for blending almond, cream and a few others.
It smelled so nice in the store, but when I brewed a pot, it tasted like cough syrup. No amount of sugar was able to make it taste any better.
I get an artificial cherry scent in the bag and that's about it. Once it's brewed it no longer has the cherry smell. The rose petals over power the cherry (IMO) which is not what I was looking for.
Full, natural flavor. The quality of the tea surpriZe me every time. I am your fan, adagio, forever:)
This is a nicely flavored tea. It's not my favorite but it is in my tea-drinking rotation.
Wow this cherry tea really packs a punch of flavor! Can't wait to try this cold.
not one of my favorite has a tangy flavor but I don't really taste the cherry in it.
This flavor is pretty good, it almost tastes like cherry Nyquil (which I personally do not mind).
Delish!!! Love this one so very much!!would recommend!!
This tea is fine, but it tastes almost exactly like the currant tea. Good to blend with cream or almond.
UPDATE: My last two orders in 2014 were MUCH improved for the olfactory senses...is still a strong yet a much more smooth flavor.
Been looking forever for a suitable taste relative to Rep of Tea Bing Cherry, which is rarely available. This is it!! Excellent cherry flavor and I love to simple let it brew, and brew...3 heaping teaspoons per quart work for a longer brew time..add a little stevia and ice it down
Very nice, not too obtrusive. Not quite the cherry taste as I imagined it, but still nice.
We really enjoyed this one iced, with stevia and a lemon twist.
Good...not too fruity. I think this would be good iced also, but I have not tried that yet. This is a great tea blended with vanilla...and of course a little honey stirred in...yum!
This tastes better than the green version. I think this would be great in a blend. It's alright on its own but reminds me of medicine.
Sweet, but not too sweet. The cherry flavor smells like real cherry not like candy! Delightful.
Nice natural cherry flavor. Nice blended with the cream tea for a creamy flavor.
Nice flavor, simple, but that's not a bad thing. Relaxing to drink, and the cherry flavor is well balanced and pleasing to the tongue.
