I like almond extract, but not almonds. This tea tastes like almond extract. It has a mild, pleasant cherry-ish flavor, though the finish is slightly astringent.
Ceylon black tea with a touch of almond. Plush mouthfeel, creamy marzipan notes, nutty sweet, balanced astringency.

I like almond extract, but not almonds. This tea tastes like almond extract. It has a mild, pleasant cherry-ish flavor, though the finish is slightly astringent.
The almond flavor is mild but melds well with the rich flavor of the ceylon tea. I steeped this one at 195 F to help avoid some of the bitterness and astringency that I find is common with ceylon. I did enjoy the tea but am not a huge almond fan. So while I would drink this if offered, it's not one I would keep on hand.
What a delightful tea! As I continue to expand my tea horizons, I continue to be surprised at what appeals to me and what does not. This tea was another pleasant surprise. From reading other reviews commenting on bitterness, I chose to brew at a slightly lower temperature (195 degrees) and for just 2:45. This produced a wonderful medium amber colored brew, with the light almond scent appearing enticingly. Tasting the tea straight brought forth a bit of the bitterness others noted, so I prepared as I normally do with a bit of sugar and cream. What resulted was a wonderfully creamy cup of simple pleasure, with no spices or fruits or confections to fight for attention. The almond combined with the cream and sugar to create a smooth rich potion that stood on its own, comforting and warm. Another welcome surprise!
I love a good old cup of black tea! This taste like a poured a dash of Amaretto in it. SO GOOD! I think I found a fav.
Not my cup of tea...It just has an odd flavor, kinda bland too.
Closer to love it than hate it for the communiTEA sample of the day. The problem with this blend is that the almond was definitely noticeable in the packet before steeping. however after steeping you don't taste the almond. all you taste is the black tea that they used in the blend. I think this blend has potential if it was more balanced with a hint of sweetness to accent the almond flavor and bring it out more. I can't put honey in my teas because i'm diabetic but maybe a hint of vanilla would balance it out?
The almond tea smelled so good in the package. I steeped this at 195 for 3 minutes and added some rock sugar. I think for my second cup I will add some orange zest. Tastes like a marzipan.
Definitely not my cup of tea. Bitter flavour. Not something I will repeat.
I like this! Light almond flavor reminiscent of almond extract mingles well with the black tea for a nice smooth cup. Would be good in blends too.
Mild almond aromas were noted from my communiTEA packet this morning. There were 2 teaspoons of tea in the packet for my 12 oz mug this morning. I decided to use only 1.5 teaspoons of it for my steep in hopes of staving off any bitterness.
When hot and in the cup, very mild almond tastes were noted. No bitterness was present. I added some light brown sugar to bring out flavors.
When warm, pleasant and smooth Ceylon black tea flavors were noted. Wonderful and tasty almond flavors were noted.
This turned out to be a very nice & surprising sip. Normally these black tea flavor blends are bitter. Bottom line: I’m not going to assume that the amount of tea included in my communiTEA packet is how much tea I should be using, especially for black teas. (3 mins @ 200ºF, 3/8 tsp light brown sugar)
Upon opening the packet there was a sweet almond smell, but a bit more subtle than I was expecting after trying some of Adagio's herbal almond teas. Steeped at 212°F for 3 minutes, I was pleasantly surprised that there was almost no bitterness. Just a smooth black tea flavor with a bit of almond that added some creaminess but wasn't overpowering. I actually enjoyed it with nothing added which doesn't happen often with Ceylon black teas. I did end up adding some cream and brown sugar and it was even better. If you like almond flavor this is a good one, simple but something a little different.
I found this tea to be lacking in almond flavor. The almond is extremely light and doesn't shine through.
I'm not usually a fan of nutty flavors, but I do love almond in general, so I wasn't surprised that I enjoyed this. I don't know that it's a tea I'd drink on its own, but I'm definitely tempted to use it in future signature blends.
I don't know if it's because I have a pretty large mug and I'm using a CommuniTEA packet instead of being able to scoop a little extra in for steeping, but I did think it was a little blander than I expected it to be. I may have inadvertently watered it down. In any case, it's mildly sweet and slightly nutty, smells fabulous, and has a nice silky mouthfeel with a dry finish. Very nice!
Not really my thing, but with a little stevia it's not bad. Do not over brew it as I can see how it would be bitter quickly.
Its ok, mostly a black tea with a slight almond flavor. I added half a packet of stevia and used a very large insulated cup to have it more watered down to cut the bitterness, using my sample packet from my Communitea box
Almond aroma is creamy and warm as it envelopes your nose. The taste is gentle and subtle. The Ceylon tea compliments the almond flavor. I am not the biggest fan of almond flavor but was pleasantly surprised. I do wish I had cream and sugar because it would elevate the tea to a dessert.
Long one of my favorites from Adagio. It does not disappoint. A good, strong black base with a shot of amaretto would be my closest comparison.
MMMMMM. This tea tasted good hot and cold. On opening the packet, the lovely aroma of black tea and almonds mixed mineral earthiness and sweet almond scents. I brewed for full time -- 212F and 5 minutes as I like my black tea strong. 212F and 3 minutes would prob do for those who don't like really strong, dark tea. Lovely blend of flavors, nice mouthfeel and tasted great hot, warm and cold. Just a nice overall cup of tea. This would make a nice base for a dessert tea blend...I might have to actually buckle down and finally make a blend! l
Excellent almond flavor but not too much. Very subtle, not overpowering, but still there. I like this because you can taste the almond flavor and the black tea itself.
I love almond anything! This tea is delicious. The almond is subtle but smooth.
When I opened today’s communiTea, I smelled almond, almonds and more almonds. Yum, Let me tell you, I enjoy anything almond! However a little disappointed, even steeped at lower temp @ 2 minutes, this was more of a very, strong black tea. The Almond flavor sadly was not very pronounced, and each sip, ended with a bitter bite. Compared to initial aroma, I think I was expecting something a little sweeter, and more of an almond flavor. Will re-steep and try it with a splash of cream. (2 mins @ 180F)
Tastes like amaretto! Very nice with some cream and sweetener.
A strong black tea. Almond flavor is not very dominant, but present in the background. A nice tea.
Strong flavor. Mild nutty taste. Enjoyed it during this cold weather
I really appreciate the nutty flavor in combination with the black tea.
The almond flavoring is much milder than other nutty teas like hazelnut and chestnut. So much so that it's a background note to the bitter base tea. Not the best.
Nice scent and flavor but not for me as I like a little more sweetness
This tea is so unique and perfect with a little honey and almond milk. It has a great aroma and subtle nutty finish. This is definitely one of my favorites.
The only tea my son really likes! It’s always a treat!
Fantastic, it pairs really well with cranberry! Nice and nutty
As with all of Adagio's flavored teas, the base tea is a somewhat bitter and astringent generic black tea, and here an almond extract flavor is added on top of that. Like almond extract, it tastes like cherries, not like roasted almonds, which was a bit disappointing to me, if not surprising. That said, I do like the flavor; it reminds me a bit of fruit-flavored cereal.
Sweet but not overpowering. Nutty and refreshing.
It s no secret that I love the almond flavoring in most every blend, and this is no exception. This is excellent, a marzipan type of almond flavor and aroma that is just delightful. This would be a five star review if not for the fact that I love the almond oolong just a bit better, but I m happy to drink this one as well. Perfect as a latte with cream and sugar, and I imagine it would be just as good over ice. Very nice!
Delicious!! One of my new favorites! Goes great with Italian cookies!
My go to to mix with Keemun concerto for a great strong cup of tea with a hint sweet.
The smell is INCREDIBLE, but the taste is very mild. I would love for the almond flavors to be more forward, but that won't stop me from drinking this every morning.
Perfect to blend with other tea favorites, has a subtle taste and strong fragrance
This is literally the most amazing tea I’ve ever had in my entire life. The flavor is beyond rich. Exceeded expectations. Will order again in the biggest size available for my next shipment.
Lovely tea! Don’t brew to long or it will get bitter.
It has a very strong artificial scent but goes amazing with cream or chocolate chip
really smooth and tasty! this is an excellent tea!
I’m a huge fan of almond tea. This almond black tea was amazing! It had the perfect balance of flavors. Unlike most almond black teas, this one didn’t taste burnt. Win win. If you are an almond black tea lover, purchase this one. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
This is a very sweet almond flavor; not particularly nutty, this has an almost fruity sweetness. I’m cutting down on sugar and this tea hits that sweet tooth without adding any sweetener.
smells amazing!! definitely a favorite. just the teeniest bit too strong almond flavor.
Significant almond flavor--like a non-alcoholic amaretto! So tasty :)
This black tea has such a pure and delicious almond taste- I have turned many friends onto this tea!
Tastes like marzipan. I love marzipan, so this was delicious to me. I tried this hot only. Light flavor, good black tea. Would recommend.
I love the almond flavor! It smells great too. I wish it came in a decaf version
I love almond flavors, but sometimes they can be a little artificial tasting. Upon opening the bag, the smell of almond was pronounced, but did seem SLIGHTLY artificial. After steeping it tasted fine, although there was an astringent 'edge' to it. Will try it with cream next time.
Love the nutty flavor to this. Between this and hazelnut I can't decide my favorite! Mixes well with cream black tea!
