updated review (6-7-21): I've given it an additional star because this year I tried it via a cold brew. That made all the difference. When hot, it easily goes too bitter and doesn't taste raspberry so much as generically fruity. Cold brewed, there is no bitterness whatsoever, the flavor is raspberry, and it has a smooth mouthfeel. (reviewed through CommuniTEA 2021)
original review (6-6-20): A nice black tea with a strong fruity flavor. I enjoyed the second steep more, as the flavors mellowed a little (reviewed through CommuniTEA 2020)

I was pleasantly surprised by this tea. i expected the Ceylon to be bitter and the raspberry to be too tart. I steeped at a lower temp and for less time (195 F x 2.5 min) then added 1/2 tsp Monkfruit sweetener. As a hot tea it was pretty good. I bet it would be great if it was cold brewed.

I mean it's not bad, but if you're looking for a good caffiene free raspberry tea, drink a cup of raspberry patch instead. This is just flat and one note.

Strong raspberry smells waft out of the communiTEA packet this morning. Slightly scared since the smell was so potent. Once brewed the raspberry flavor is subtle and does not steal the show. Great balance with the Ceylon tea. No bitterness and I did not miss the caffeine at all. Smooth sip of raspberry tea with a slightly tart finish. Added a touch of raw honey which toned down the tart a touch, but not too much. I like a bit of tart to remain since it is raspberry. I also iced this tea and I think I preferred it iced. The raspberry flavors were popping and made my mouth very happy on this hot day. 195º for 3mins and 30 seconds. Second steep for 4 mins which proved to be more mellow, but still a good cup of tea. Enjoy!

A solid decaf, the raspberry just isn't one of my favorite flavors.

I was happy to be reminded of the decaf fruity teas with today's communitea. For some reason, I find the regular caffeine Ceylon teas tend to be bitter, but the decaf versions don't seem to have that problem... I enjoyed this cup, especially since I brewed it up in the evening and could enjoy it without worrying about caffeine jitters or being kept up too late. The taste was mildly fruity with nice raspberry flavour. This would probably make a nice enough iced tea as well.

This tea tastes fruity and rich, but it really shines when you add a bit of cream to it. You might want to nibble on some graham crackers or digestive biscuits/lotus cookies, depending on which you prefer to use as a cheesecake crust. Because with a bit of sweet cream, this tea becomes downright decadent.

A really nice raspberry tea filled with tart berry flavors. I am not always a fan of decaf but this would make a great iced tea that could be enjoyed in the afternoon and still let you get to sleep at night.

Both hot or iced, this is a refreshing cup of tea. The fruit is subtle and begs a 2nd brew. When enjoyed over ice, it is delightful and could be enjoyed even without added sweetner.

A nice decaf tea, personally I found the raspberry a little too lightly flavored. In the future, I think I would partner with some raspberry patch to amplify the flavoring.

The smell of raspberries hit me as soon as I opened the packet, before I even knew what type of tea this was! So it wasn't a surprise to find out it was a raspberry tea, but I was happy in any case, as I'm a huge raspberry fan. It's also really nice to have a good flavored decaf black tea to turn to when you're watching your caffeine intake, so now I have this one. It's smooth, full of flavor (even without any added sweetener), and a joy to drink.

This is a nice, mild decaf raspberry tea. I didn't find it to be sour or bitter, but I felt that it was missing something. A splash of milk for a 'berries and cream' flavor would be nice.

CommuniTEA Sample - This one surprised me a bit. I love most berries and eat a lot of raspberries, so I figured this would be right up my alley. It started with a nice aroma with raspberries and I was really looking forward to it. After steeping, it still had a good aroma and as I sipped the first sip, I suddenly wondered where all the raspberry went. It smells good. And there is some raspberry flavor, but not much. Also, for some reason, there was a bit of throat bitterness that I rarely get from black teas that are steeped properly. I was expecting more smoothness from the Ceylon Decaf, but it just didn't deliver. I smoothed it out with a splash of cream and enjoyed the rest of the cup, but probably won't be buying this one.

Enjoyed this decaf tea! 212F, 3 minutes. Nice berry taste. Threw in some Raspberry Patch to amp up the fruit for the second steep.

Raspberry Ceylon was the tea of the day, or rather the afternoon for me. The packet opened to reveal twisted Ceylon black tea leaves, dark green raspberry leaf bits, and even some raspberry drupelets. The scent of fresh raspberries emanated from the packet.
While distracted with my morning routine, I pressed the VelociTEA maker's black tea button to steep at 212°F for 5 minutes. The tea's color was a nice shade of hazelnut. I missed the chance to pull the basket at the recommended 3 minutes, and was expecting the tea to turn out overpoweringly strong, but I was pleasantly surprised! The decaf Raspberry Ceylon tea tasted still very close to a perfectly steeped regular raspberry black tea.
The decaf Ceylon tea must have been tamed down by the CO2 process enough to withstand the full 5 minute steep time without becoming overly bitter or astringent. The decaf Ceylon is usually a bit lighter and mild when compared to it's fully caffeinated sibling, and this still proves true yet without impacting overall body or briskness. The resulting brew was strong enough to pass as if it were a nice brisk cup of fully caffeinated raspberry tea. The raspberry flavor is pleasantly fruity and fresh. While the raspberry leaves add a bit of green character without being overly bitter. The finish is mildly astringent and palate cleansing.
This is an impressive decaf blend that is still just as satisfying as the regular raspberry black tea, yet without as much of the precarious balance and attention needed when steeping. As a decaf option, it made a really great afternoon tea with just enough residual caffeine to feel but not too much to keep you up at night.

Not quite as refreshing as it's caffeinated counterpart, but still pleasant. I was nearly falling asleep by the end of my cup from the warmth and relaxingly pleasant flavor. I got the raspberry, but it wasn't sour at all. It tasted very similar to a bottled raspberry tea I've bought from the convenience store, especially with the addition of sweetener. I'd love to try this iced, but I enjoyed it hot quite well.

This decaf tea is great either hot or iced. The raspberry scent is stronger than the flavor, but the flavor is not subtle. Definitely going on my 'must buy more of this' list!

Certainly a good black tea and certainly raspberry. A bit too dry on the finish for me. I’m left wanting a sip of water after taking a sip of tea!

taste just like raspberry jam. the tea itself had little astringency and was surprisingly smooth. Wish you could taste a little more of the tea itself as this does taste quite almost like a raspberry hard candy. Perhaps a little too sweet for my taste but I myself like just plain black and not the fruity variety, just my personal preference... For what it is, its very good and would be great cold as well.

Because it is 90° outside with 80% humidity, the idea of hot tea was not welcoming today. To my delight, I realized today’s tea would be PERFECT iced. I am a new tea drinker, and the more I explore, the more I realize that I really like black teas. This is wonderful just slightly sweetened over ice!

This tea smells delicious, and has a nice subtle raspberry flavor that is not synthetic or overwhelming to taste. It pairs well with the ceylon base, but needs a little bit of sweetener to bring out the full flavors.

Something about this tea is a bit off. It is a little sour. It generally tastes like black tea and berries but with some added flavor I don’t like, and can’t put my finger on. Unfortunate because I love raspberry. I preferred the strawberry and blueberry decaf teas to this one.

I love that Adagio makes a bunch of flavored black teas for us caffeine weenies. It is much appreciated! And I think their CO2 process is the way to go if you drink decaf. It really does retain a lot of flavor to the Ceylon base. This one smells a bit aggressive in the package, but don't let that deter you. The taste is a faint raspberry flavor that is just right and not overbearing. I prefer these flavored blacks with some oat milk. I like the creaminess and dessert quality it adds to the blend. For me, this would make a nice after dinner sip, especially in the winter time. Happy Sipping!

A delightful raspberry decaf that has a nice balance of berry flavor paired with decaf Ceylon. If you’re looking for a hammer of saturated berry taste then this tea is probably not for you. Adagio’s fruit flavored decaf teas, I’ve found, are more nuanced and allow for a joyful anticipation of fruity taste sip by sip. I can easily drain a couple of cups and want more. Other big bold berry teas get re-shelved in a hurry to allow my taste buds a rebound.
My heavenly scented Ct packet had 3 g./ 2 tsp. of raspberry tea which was enough to brew 12 oz. of a gently scented hot tea. Dark Ceylon tea leaves and bits of raspberry became a reddish brown liquor after being steeped at 200F for 3 minutes. No bitterness was detected and the decaf version of this tea tasted much like the fully caffeinated one complete with a gentle fruity flavor and a pleasant amount of astringency. I could sip plain and enjoy a cup of this pleasing fruity tea easily but chose to add a little orange blossom honey for an extra kick of citrus flavor and to brighten the raspberry and bright and tangy Ceylon tea base.
A flavorful 6 oz. resteep was possible and I sweetened and chilled a mini cup to taste cold. The chilled version was excellent and would make a great iced tea. I was sorry not to have more of this tasty chilled tea to sip on this already toasty June day. A 5 pinkies up for this wonderful decaf raspberry tea.

I was hoping for better. I love decaf Ceylon tea - it is one of my 'always on hand' teas. The addition of raspberry flavoring didn't improve an already great tea in this case. The raspberry tastes a little artificial here. It would probably be good iced though.

Brewed at 212*F for 3 minutes, the tea had a beautiful nose and the taste was enjoyable as well.
I received it as part of the Communitea pack, and was very surprised. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys natural raspberry flavors in their tea.
In addition, I normally add sweetener to my teas, but this one has a natural sweetness to it that was already paired to my liking. This should be taken into account when consuming.

I don't like the taste of black tea. For me there wasn't a single taste of Raspberry. Maybe if I put raspberries in while it steeped and cooled, maybe I could've saved it. But nope. This was bad. And I put a decent amount of sugar in my black teas

In general, berry teas aren't my jam (see what I did there?!?!). This is better than most but still tastes more like I'm drinking berry flavored leaves from the berry bush than berries. It is a little better iced, but only marginally so.

Decaf Ceylon is one of my favorites when it comes to decaffeinated teas. It’s mild, not bitter, and carries flavors well. Unfortunately, raspberry is on the less desired list. Brewed hot at 194° for 3 minutes, the resulting tea was mild but had a bitter flavor from the raspberry leaves. Sweetened lightly with honey helped, but still a bit too sour. I chilled the tea and drank it over ice, resulting in a fairly pleasant raspberry iced tea.

Raspberry galore! A very strong raspberry aroma from the packet and while steeping. When the tea was hot the raspberry flavor came through well and it was delicious. As the tea cooled it became increasingly bitter. Decided to chill the rest for the morning, hoping the bitterness would depart. No luck, it remained and made the tea unpleasant for me. I am sure it could be remedied with something sweet, but I like tea as it is.

The regular Raspberry tea smells exactly like Pez candy and tastes how I expected. This one was different when steeped for 3 minutes with boiling water. It had an earthy flavor that was kind of bitter, like dark chocolate. Sugar made it better (though it was still a bit bitter) but I didn't get as much fruit flavor as I expected. I'm going to try steeping differently to see if I can get it to taste more like the regular Raspberry flavor because this was honestly disappointing, but still drinkable.
