This tea has proven a bit of a mystery to me. By all accounts, I should love it. Both cinnamon and hazelnut are favorite flavors of mine in tea. And perhaps, that's my problem. Something about this tea just doesn't click for me. It could be that the hazelnut and the cinnamon aren't balanced enough to meet my expectations based on the name. Hazelnut dominates this tea while cinnamon takes such a supporting role that it's almost undetectable, even with the addition of sweetener, until the tea is quite cool. It could also be that somehow manages to come across as weak tasting and yet rather astringent at the same time. Even the afore mentioned dominant flavor, the hazelnut is muted. I want to love this tea, and consequently, I've played a little both with brew times and temps as well as the amount of tea used in an infusion. Despite my efforts, I just can't find the sweet spot. It's not that it's a bad tea, it just doesn't live up to my expectations.

What a great flavor! Hazelnutty and creamy - what more could you want?

The flavor is good, but a little too bold for me. My boyfriend really likes this tea, though.

Very strong hazelnut flavor with a touch of cinnamon, but not overpowering. One of my ongoing favorite dessert teas!

This is the first 'decaf' tea I've tried and it certainly exceeded expectations. Smells absolutely lovely in the pouch (the orange&cocoa come through well) and while the brew is milder than I thought it would be, it does live up to its name. The heat of cinnamon spices up what might otherwise be a slightly humdrum hazlenut-creme, and the overall result is quite enjoyable.

That said, being decaf it does lack a good deal of 'tea' flavor. Disappointing but not a deal breaker. On the bright side, it doesn't seem to get bitter with oversteeping either!

+ Apparently the hazlenut is quite intense. My mother tells me 'the entire kitchen smells nutty.'

Okay, I love this tea, I truly do. It smells absolutely amazing. Like so good I'd make it into an air freshener or a candle. And that's kinda why I'm giving it 4 stars, because after some time it began to taste like a vanilla-cinnamon air freshener... It's worth a sample at least, and it's so nice to have a decaf black tea!

Hazelnut and cinnamon scents wafted out as the packet opened. A 3 minute steep at 212°F created a medium brown maghogany brew.

Hazelnut was prominently featured up front and center, while the cinnamon and cream worked out their places on either side. Nutty flavors from the hazelnut blended with slightly spicy cinnamon to form a thick mouthfeel with hints of nutella and mild cinnamon zings. The cream smoothed out all the flavors and blended them together well.

Overall this is a nice mildly spiced and enjoyable decaf sipper for the afternoon or evening.

Delicious after dinner tea. Added sweetener, thought I would need cream, but it was fantastic without it. This one is going on my wish list.

I enjoy hazelnut; however, this simply didn’t meet my expectations. Brewed at 212 for 3 minutes.

I love a good hazelnut tea. The cinnamon adds a nice, warm, boost, but it's not overpowering. Makes a good latte.

This tea is gentle and nutty, warm and mellow. It pairs incredibly well with creamer, and it goes down smooth and silky.

Sampled this as part of CommuniTea. I try all the CommuniTea samples straight and found this one to be a bit too hazelnut and cinnamon. Maybe if I brewed a bit weaker or added sugar and cream, I could have mellowed those flavors into something I liked more but that is a bit too much work considering I have a huge stash of Adagio teas I adore which I can drink instead. I can appreciate the flavor this decaf has but will leave it for others who will enjoy sipping more than I.

It ok but I’m not a fan of Hazelnut, (212 @ 3 min.), you can really taste the Hazelnut and cinnamon.

Hazelnut and cinnamon are a good combination. The hazelnut is strong and the cinnamon is more subtle. I prefer this with cream and sweetener.

CommuniTEA packet tasting, this decaf Ceylon tea was perfectly blended with fall spices, hazelnut, and cocoa. The flavors accented each other well. I sweetens mine a bit for a yummy bedtime treat. Happy sipping!

There are very few decaf black teas adagio doesn’t hit out of the park. This is another yum tea. While I usually prefer truvia to sweeten my tea, I’ve found this is a rare example of where I prefer honey!

Dry tea smells like cream, hazelnut and cinnamon. Once brewed, the resulting cup is a medium brown with similar scent, predominately the hazelnut notes. When hot, the hazelnut flavor is the most prominent. When warm, the cinnamon and creme help to mellow out the hazelnut. The decaf Ceylon does not taste bitter, and carries the combination well. The orange is very faint in the finish. I love the combination of flavors, and this is one of my decaf staples. Brewed at 200 for 3 minutes.

I was a little concerned about this tea, but now I think it'll become a regular on my shelf. Hazelnut teas can be too hazelnutty, and decaf blacks are hit or miss for me... But this is absolutely delicious!

This is pretty good for a decaf. The hazelnut and creme flavors are the most forward, even more than the flavor of the actual tea. There are accents of smooth, but not overwhelming, cinnamon throughout.

May 19, 2020 - The flavors were spot on, I just think I am more of a fruit forward tea drinker. That being said...I am still glad I tried it!
UPDATE: My communiTEA sample today smelled divine! I steeped at a lower temp for a longer time. I added sugar and cream...and...it was delicious! So needless to say my tastes have changed and I know more about how to prepare tea than I did in my first review. The hazelnut and cinnamon work well and I think the creme just brings it all together. I couldn't detect any orange. I am updating this review today and adding a few extra stars! It was yummy!

OMG!!! Love the heavenly smell of tea leaves. Of all the decafs sold on this website, this one is a winner! If it were me, I won't be the caffinated Hazelnut. I'm one who insists on caffeine, but I would keep this as my only decaf. This is something I need to think about to add to my fall teas.

A good blend of hazelnut and cinnamon. I didn’t notice the cream much,. The cinnamon helps round out the hazelnut flavor, which is very strong. Good for when you need a decaf option

Sipping along with the CommuniTEA: Strong hazelnut fragrance with some cinnamon noticed from the dry ingredients and packet. Once steeped for 3 mins at 190°F, I notice hazelnut with more cinnamon on the nose. When I take a sip, I get mainly hazelnut with cinnamon. The hazelnut is strong falls a little flat with a mildly dry tannic finish. Perhaps steeping longer would bring out some of the other ingredients like the orange which would brighten up the hazelnut flavor.

25 Jun 2021 purchased review: I made sure that I had some of every ingredient for today’s steep. Strong hazelnut and mild cinnamon aromas were noted.

I used three grams of ingredients for a 12 ounce steep. I steep all my decaf Ceylon blacks at 200°F. This was no exception. I pulled the steep at the three minute mark, when the color depth was to my liking.

When hot, no tea bitterness was noted from the tea. Moderate hazelnut flavors were noted. Cinnamon flavors were mild. Creme flavors were mild and creamy. No orange flavors were noted. Mild unsweetened and bitter cocoa nib flavors were noted. I added ¼ teaspoon of sugar to tame any bitterness and sweeten things up.

When warm, strong hazelnut flavors were noted. A mild astringency and nutty mouthfeel was noted from the hazelnut. Mild cinnamon zings were noted on the tongue. The creme and marigold tried to smooth things out, with little success. No tea bitterness was noted. I couldn’t discern if there were any orange flavors.

In the end, hazelnut flavors were just too intense, overpowering everything to the point that it was hard to determine other flavor notes. (¼ tsp sugar added)

CT update 9/29/21: Still loving this one. Great decaf tea.

9/21?/21 Review:
This was so delicious! Even my husband--who only drinks nasty Lipton teabags--had some, and liked it (I will convert him yet). It had a wonderful chocolatey, rich, hazelnutty aroma and flavor with minimal astringency. I didn't get much of the creme but will have to drink my straight Creme again and then sample this to see. I usually drink my tea black but I could totally see drinking this with milk and sugar, or perhaps a nice little shot of something chocolatey! 10 pinkies up :)

For a decaffeinated tea this was really good!! This would be a great tea to sip on a cold evening.
Or
When you are not feeling well! The cinnamon warmed me up. It almost felt Like a brandy as it slid down my throat.
I liked the creamer brought the flavors together and smoothed it down .

Parents say it, lots.
'We love you all, equally'
But kids dispute this

Do you think tea cares?
Cares to be your favorite?
Do they all squabble?

As it is just tea
And shouldn't have those feelings
I will say it straight

I love this tea best!
Ordering so many bags!
I should be ashamed!

Amazing! Immediately in love, the smell upon opening the bag, AWESOME! Ordering a larger bag!!! Update: into my second large bag, love this tea!

I’ve been hesitant to try this one for a long time, but got a sample pack with my Communitea subscription. I like it more than I thought I would, it has strong cinnamon and hazelnut flavors, as expected- but they don’t taste fake or too much like candy. They did tend to fight a little bit with each other, but neither flavor seemed to hold dominance over the other. I think it would be better with a bit of Creme flavor to tame down the two giants in this cup. Overall this would make a nice sipping tea for winter nights by the fireplace.
