very pleasantly spicy, but far from uncomfortably so, very warming between the standard chai spices and the triad of pepper additions
I like bold teas -- so this one is a perfect cup for me! Wonderful blend of chai spices with the heat of peppercorns added in! Lovely cuppa tea!! Definitely a new favorite for me!
The spices in this Tea tasted so fresh. It's spicy and hot. But I love the Masala Chai better.
I found the chili flakes to be much too harsh. A healthy dose of cream helped to mellow this out, but it will not be on my wishlist. Then again, this might be just the tea I turn to when dealing with a head cold.
Tried this as an iced chai latter and really liked it. The heat and sharpness of the pepper balanced well with cold soy milk.
It’s our favorite chai. Nice and peppery. We have a cup every afternoon
Wow! The pepper kicks the spice up a few notches! I enjoy this one with cream to help take the heat off.
This is definitely a spicy one!! Not for the faint of heart. It would be absolutely perfect if the red pepper was toned down just a little, but otherwise it's a very good blend.
This has to be one of my new favorite chai's from Adagio. For me the peppers give it a subtle kick, I absolutely love that. I feel like the cloves also come out quite a bit in it, which I don't mind. I like to add some coconut milk powder to it.
I have been looking for a chai tea, heavy on the pepper. I really love this tea. It has the perfect amount of spice.
Absolutely too spicy for me but the taste is good if you can stomach it. My wife, who loves spice and chai, loved it.
Such an interesting tea! I usually shy away from chai teas as I find them kinda boring, but this one is anything but. It definitely has a spicy kick that leaves behind warmth and tingling after I've had a sip. There are so many layers that work in harmony, but also come out individually from aroma to the lingering aftertaste. I frequently crave something spicy, so this will be a good way to scratch that itch without snacking. I will probably experiment with one, adding sweetener, milks, or using to create a blend, like spicy pineapple.
I got this one for me, as I love spicy chai. Little did I know it would end up being for my hubby. It was so spicy that I only drank about a third of the cup. I’m pretty weak with this kind of heat, my husband on the other hand, loves it. He drank it down and grinned as he claimed the rest of the sample bag. This is for the adventurous sipper for sure. We liked it, hope it stays around.
This chai blend is ALMOST it for me. I do love spicey, and this tea definitely brings 'hot' more than other blends, but I could really go for some of the other flavors to come forward more.
I don't know if I would purchase this again, but it's not bad. The spice is definitely noticeable, if you aren't a pepper fan, this is not for you. Would compliment something with a rich buttercream frosting really well.
Very spicy & fruity from the cardamom & peppercorns. I love the heat with this tea, but my wife thinks it's too spicy.
I love a spicy tea and I was really impressed with this one. Enough spice to cut through a latte nicely, but wonderful on its own with honey. This will be a ' frequent sip' in my house!
I have been searching for a spicy chai and am so glad to have learned this exists. It resteeps well, too.
Some like it hot and this spicy chai delivers! The traditional chai spices are kicked up a notch with the addition of pepper. I love when Adagio teas marry Selefina spices and create delicious, flavorful teas. This is perfect for brisk fall and chilly winter days. Cheers!
Wow! This chai has some serious kick! I'm always wanting more spice in my chai teas and this one delivers! Not for the feint of heart. If you love spicy chai, this is 'the one.'
There's some lingering heat from the chili peppers in the mix, but not much. If you're looking for something that'll make you sweat, this tea unfortunately is not gonna do that.
I was worried that this tea may be too spicy, but it is the perfect balance. I enjoy this when I am fighting off a cold, as the pepper seems to wake up my senses.
Oh my goodness this is the perfect spice to my chai! Scoop of this and masala is my dream chai! So yummy!
I purchased this for my husband. He has been searching for spicy teas, and this fit the bill for him. I have it a sniff when he was making a cup, and it certainly smelled spicy to me
This is a great, spicy blend of Chai! I like the addition of chili pepper, black and red peppercorns, they blend well with the chai spices. This is delicious with a little bit of cream.
This blend is so pretty with the green cardamom pods + the red peppercorns. It's very fragrant and pleasantly tickles the nose. I tried it with some honey, and the extra pepper definitely gives it a bite. I added milk but it was still too peppery for me (and I like pepper). I've since tried brewing a mixture of this tea with english breakfast, which was okay. I prefer a small portion of it brewed with chopped turmeric + english breakfast.
Wowza, Tri Pepper Chai is for anyone who enjoys a spicy hot pepper chai. Wakes up the taste buds and has a long lasting peppery aftertaste. as the name implies, it is very much a pepper forward chai. works extremely well with deeper honey and milk. I enjoy it hot and over ice.
This tea is very peppery! I usually take a whiff when I open a new bag and this one gave me a bit of a sneezing fit. Once brewed it still very peppery, but the rest of the spices aren't too overpowered.
I am admittedly a heat wuss and was concerned that this tea would burn my tongue with all that pepper. However, it's worse than that because at least I could remove some peppercorns or dilute this chai with another chai or tea if too spicy. As it turns out, as colorful as the tea looks in the sales photo, it seems to have NO flavor other than pepper. If I licked my fingertip, dipped it in a dish of ground black pepper, and then licked the adhering pepper off, I'd get about the same taste. And it would be less expensive. :( Bummer. I might still be able to add teeny portions to a different tea or tea blend-- MAYBE a pinch at a time. I was very disappointed in this one. I'm glad Adagio gives freebies by way of trading cards, etc., because this purchase was money down the drain for me.
This tea lives up to its name. The flavor is pepper upon pepper upon pepper. I wanted a spicy chai, but I would have liked to taste more flavors than just pepper. Great to mix with other teas, though!
I like spicy and I’ve been waiting for a spicer chai but this might be too much for me! It’s VERY spicy. I normally drink my tea black but had to add honey with this. I am going to combine this with some Marsala Chai to cut the spice some.
Tastes like a warm drink my mom used to make for the holidays!!
Holy #$%! Batman, this stuff will put your mouth on FIRE! Which, if you enjoy heat, is a good thing. I enjoy heat, but i'll admit, I need to blend this one with other milder teas to take a bit of the edge off that fire. It has an excellent flavor, but phew, it MUST be sipped slowly (unless you have a higher heat index than I).
This is deliciously spicy with hot ginger and savory pepper. Cloves and anise add a little herbal sweetness to balance the flavors. It's great as a powerful black tea brew on its own, and is even better with something sweet like honey or creamer for that hot honey aesthetic.
A potpourri of savory chai spices were noted in my sample pouch tea. Ginger, clove and anise aromas stood out. I couldn’t wait to taste the chili!
I had three grams of ingredients, enough for a 12 ounce medium strength steep. I hand-crushed the green cardamom pods prior to steeping to help release their flavor. I steeped for the recommended 212°F for five minutes.
When hot, mild chili pepper heat was noted. Ginger, cinnamon, clove and peppery flavors were mild. I added ⅜ teaspoon of sugar to help meld all flavors and properly sweeten the chai.
When warm, chili pepper flavors were moderate. The remainder of spice flavors moderated and worked in harmony with each other.
The chili pepper was not overpowering, but was definitely present. Towards finish I added two teaspoons of half & half to help create an creamy-smooth and authentic chai taste. The addition of two peppers and the chili set this chai apart and above others .. Nice touch! Kudos to the Blendmeister! (5 mins @ 212ºF, ⅜ tsp sugar, 2 tsps half & half)
This tea is so good! Spicy and I can taste all the herbs and such. I'm used to the chai I can get being a bit bland but Adagio did chai so well!
