Good caffeine free chai. Not overly rooibos tasting or spicy. Just a hint of vanilla present.
Masala Chai spices in an herbal rooibos vanilla base. Beautiful clear and bright cup, and crisp, tangy-sweet flavor.

Good caffeine free chai. Not overly rooibos tasting or spicy. Just a hint of vanilla present.
Very nice strong chai taste with a very delicious but very mild vanilla flavor, and rooibos tea.
I’m always happy to get another decaf version of a classic. This is a light chai, but the spice blend and orange notes are right on target. It’s a very warming and soothing brew. I think the vanilla softens it up and makes it less assertive, and I’m a fan of that. Chai isn’t usually a favorite of mine so saying I like this is a big compliment! I can imagine sipping this by the fire on a cold winter’s night. Happy Sipping!
Smells very gingery in the CT packet, with a hint of the cloves and vanilla. Rather than brew it traditionally with milk on the stovetop, I just brewed at 205 for 5 minutes, then added a splash of milk and about 1/2 tsp of cane sugar.
On the sip I get mostly the masala spices - a zing of ginger, plus the warming cloves and cinnamon (very similar to their masala chai offering). The rooibos and vanilla round it out just a bit and make the flavor profile a tad 'sweeter' than it would be with a base of black tea. I'm not normally the biggest fan of rooibos on its own, but I found the masala spices mostly overpowered the actual rooibos flavor.
Overall, a good decaf chai option, but I'm not sure why one wouldn't just go with Adagio's decaf masala chai offering instead, and add a splash of vanilla extract.
Absolutely beautiful cup of tea! The chai spices blend perfectly with the mellow rooibos tea. A little bit of sugar helped bring out the vanilla and orange flavors a bit. I'm very excited about experimenting with this in the future.
The tea brewed up to a beautiful orange color. I went with honey instead of my usual cream and sugar with chai teas. I found the spices to be mellow and I think the honey brought out the orange flavor. Easy drinker, no caffeine is a big plus for an evening cuppa tea. This is one of my husbands favorite teas.
UPDATED from 1/17/21: Warm spices fill my sinuses as the CommuniTEA packet opens. Ahh, the lovely aroma of ginger, cloves, cardamom and cinnamon vapes up as the tea is steeping. It is a cloudy amber color, and the flavor tastes just as it smells. Lovely spiciness blends with the rooibos to warm my heart as well as my soul. The ginger and orange provide a zing on the tongue at the finish. Adding ¼ teaspoon of sweetener (to 10 oz) helps bring out the vanilla creaminess. Then adding just a dribble of warmed heavy whipping cream whipped with a dash of vanilla makes for a wonderful chai latte. This tea is delicious any way you prepare it. Luckily I have more of this tea so I can steep another cup. Yummy for the evening. (10 mins @ 212ºF + sweetener and cream).
I love chai but strongly dislike red rooibos teas so I wasn't sure how this tea would be for me. I have to say, this is one of the best red rooibos blends I've had; the chai spices do a lot of work to mask the medicinal flavor so all you're really getting is a nice chai spice. The vanilla is a bit subtle though, and works more to add a slight sweetness rather than straight vanilla flavor.
Absolutely love Rooibie Chai! Delish on its own with yummy crèmé & sugar or in a blend! ❤️🔥🍵🫖 A great chai option for later-in-the-day-warm up-cozyness.
In the bag: There are more additives here than tea leaves. Many pieces of ginger. Many hunks of cinnamon bark, some of them a quarter-inch long. A single clove bud. Many cardamom seeds, though they're black which makes me wonder if they've been in storage a while. One tiny orange peel.
On the nose (pre-steep): Spices are the primary flavor, but aren't as intense as in similar blends. Perhaps it's because there isn't much clove here. Ginger and cinnamon are prominent. A touch of cardamom. No orange.
On the nose (post-steep): Very similar to pre-steep. Ginger and cinnamon lead the charge with perhaps the barest hint of clove pulling up the rear. Orange is still MIA, as is the classic woody scent of rooibos.
On the tongue (pre-sweetener): Clove has come forward at last. Ginger is still here with cinnamon behind it. I get classic woody rooibos on the back end of the sip along the sides of my tongue.
On the tongue (post-sweetener): No change.
Opinion: An excellent tea for those of us who like a good chai but don't want it to knock us over. I think the restrained clove let the other flavors shine through, striking a good balance. I missed the orange, however - it would have added a spot of citrus that could have made this even better.
Preparation: 7 min @ 212 ℉, ½ tsp monk fruit sweetener
This is an amazingly delicious chai blend. I love all kinds of chai but the decaf ones are special because I can enjoy them after dinner. This is the lightest tasting chai I have ever had and I really enjoyed it. It is great with only sugar or with some veggie creamer as well.
UPDATE: CT December 15, 2022
This tea remains a favorite for me. I’d forgotten how much I like it until I tried it again. I steeped as I did previously, but this time, I used 11 oz of water and 1 oz of vanilla almond milk. I omitted the maple syrup altogether. I was pleased to discover that it tasted just as good this way as it did as a latte. It also re-steeped beautifully. It remains a 5 star tea for me.

This is an amazing tea! I couldn't have been more pleased. The aroma upon opening was wonderful. It smelled like Autumn. I use this chai to make a maple latte. 6 oz of strong Rooibos Vanilla Chai steeped according to package directions. After steeping I added 3 tablespoons of sugar free Maple Syrup (a nod toward watching calories. The recipe calls for Maple Syrup with no mention of sugar free or non sugar free). Then I added 4 oz of hot or steamed milk (I used hot almond milk) I think this is going to be a new go to for me. Thank you Adagio!
I am a big rooibos fan, I like my chai, and this one is Great! The spice is heavy, and the vanilla rooibos flavors are very weak. I add some almond vanilla milk, with some sweetener to bring out more of a stronger vanilla taste.
I'll stick with the decaf chai that we tried a few days ago. Rooibos just isn't a flavor I can get behind, though the chai spices definitely make it more tolerable
A good basic chai, tons of great spices, wonderful with sweetener and lots of milk. The vanilla flavor isn't super strong, which is fine by me. Tolerates long steeping, but eventually will get bitter if simmered for an extended time.
This is my go-to when I want warm, cozy spice without caffeine. I add some milk and sometimes a bit of sugar. It’s also good iced. As a chai, it’s a little light on cardamom flavor and heavy on cloves and cinnamon.
Delicious flavor in this tea. I would love to taste more vanilla but it's still very good, especially with a little cream and sugar
My favorite caffeine free chai option! Rooibos flavor is not overwhelming and the the vanilla and chai spice really shine through.
I don't drink caffeine or traditional tea leaves (due to tannins), but missed both. If only I had known about rooibos and honeybush teas! I was thrilled to find this low-tannin alternative that lets me enjoy chai lattes again. For a little kick, I add a few allspice berries in and steep for a minute or two longer. This is one I make sure to keep stocked.
A sweet, subtle chai, perfect when you want that warming chai feeling without caffeine. Not to strong or bitter.
A delicious tea that is now going to be on my permanent rotation. It has a rich aroma that reminds me of an eastern seaboard antique shop and warms me to the core. Plus, it has the bonus of being decaf so it’s alright to drink any time of day.
this was a really good one, super tasty! i drank it with a little bit of honey and milk. will definitely be purchasing again when i run out
So yummy! Hot brewed in my ActiviTEA 2 and it turned out perfect with 4 tsps for 17 oz. It is really good. Added slices of lemon as well. Will definitely order again.
Love the vanilla Chai. I also mixed it with Chocolate Chai which was also delicious. Great in the morning for breakfast!
At first, I wasn t a massive fan of this tea (I found it not to be as spicy as I otherwise would ve liked) but after a couple more sips I really began to enjoy it. It s spice sort of sneaks up on you in a way that s different than that of other chai teas & the vanilla flavour is quite nice. Added bonus that this tea is decaf so I can enjoy it as a nice dessert tea at night. Lovely with milk & honey.
Love, love, love this blend of flavors. The first rooibos tea I have been excited about. Can't wait to try jt cold brewed as some others have recommended.
Very nice! Smells heavenly and has a wonderful flavor. Great service and fast delivery. Love this tea!
I really like this chai. I am a fan of rooibos anyway, especially honeybush. I liked the ginger, cinnamon, and cloves in this. Great non caffeinated option.
As a chai tea lover, this one falls a bit below what I was expecting.. It was still good, just a bit light on the flavors.
Wow! I tried several of the teas as soon as I got them, as so far this is definitely my favorite! I tasted it at several increments while steeping, but the best flavor was brought out after the full 10 mins. I added some raw honey and just a splash of cream and I have to say, I think it might be the best hot drink I've had!
It's very smooth, like drinking velvet, with a delicious array of spices, and full of flavor. This tea allows for multiple steepings, and is also delicious mixed with others, like Honeybush Hazelnut!
One thing that really aggravates me though, is the tea pouches say to use a different amount than what the website does. I've noticed 90% are contradicted by the tea timer amounts. This bag says to use 1 tsp/cup while the tea timer says to use 2 heaping tsp/cup. 1 tsp is much too weak so I use 2 heaping tsp.
I don't know how I haven't left a review on this yet as it's my absolute favourite. The roiboos goes with everything - vanilla, the spices, cinnamon, cloves.. really, it's divine.
Intense flavor, best if used sparingly. I bit over the top for my tastes
My daughter’s love this tea. A good decaffeinates chai tea latte
I love the aroma and spice of this tea. It is perfect on a chilly autumn evening just before bed and it's decaf!
This is an amazing tea. It's the one we keep coming back to.
It isn't one that can be re-steeped, which would be my only complaint, but it is to be expected.
We have to force ourselves to try other teas, and it isn't easy, when this one is such a solid performer.
This is the best rooibos chai I’ve had. It’s the perfect amount of spice and not too clove-y. I love the addition of vanilla that gives it a light creamy sweet taste.
Still not as good as the pumpkin chai and masala chai, but I did enjoy it very much. I haven't had a bad chai tea from Adagio yet, at least from the ones I've tried. I'm not a big rooibos fan due to the 'woodsy' flavor that it can possess, but this nice spicy chai flavor compensates for it and makes it an enjoyable drinking experience overall.
Another tea I'm not likely to drink on its own, but it's fabulous in a lot of blends. All the right spices present and not too heavy.
Super good. Usually I don't like rooibos teas but this one I love
I love this chai so much! I really like that it is a year round flavor to enjoy anytime of the day as well
One of my favorite chai teas. Spicy and vanilla that is perfect when I want no caffeine.
I love chai and was looking for a non-caffeinated one to drink at night. Definitely taste the vanilla but also the chai flavor comes in well also.
Already on my second bag of this. It's warm and spicy, and the vanilla helps to mellow it out a little. My husband and I drink this regularly. Would absolutely recommend, although make sure to steep for the full 10 minutes, maybe even 12.
Honestly, I can't tell this is supposed to be vanilla. Clove is such a strong spice, it overpowers everything. Just tastes like a clove tea to me.
Wonderful evening tea that is pleasing even to non-tea drinkers. Great as a non-caffeinated drink with a strong pleasant flavor.
As a chai drinker, this is my go to for an evening tea when I want to avoid caffeine.
My hubby and I love this tea! Nice evening tea! Love the smell and taste with all plain honey! Yum!
I love this so much. Glad to find a warm, spicy chai without caffeine
A great herbal chai for cozy evenings. I wish the vanilla notes had come through more, but overall this should satisfy chai lovers looking to skip the caffeine and still enjoy a spicy brew.
Delicious. I did not find the spices to overpower the vanilla. A good balance, and the perfect evening treat with a dash of cream.
