I find that the cinnamon flavoring overwhelms the rest of the flavors although I like the vague taste of cocoa nib that manages to sneak through. I'm a bit disappointed to be honest, I generally don't like flavored teas anyway but this one in particular is overwhelmingly cinnamon. I guess that I am in the minority on disliking it - I bought it partially simply because it had a higher aggregate score than the 'masala chai' that I have purchased previously - but am not much of a fan of this. It doesn't taste like a chai to me - it really just tastes like cinnamon... and not even the light mild taste of cinnamon that you would get from seeping cinnamon bark but the harsher stronger flavor of cinnamon oil. Lastly, 201F is the hottest water can get at our altitude without a pressure cooker so that's as hot as it is possible to make it.

Smelled exactly like I wanted it to! When drinking it, I could personally use a tiny bit more pepper. This blend in particular is rather sweet and spicy.
It also has the interesting distinction of nearly having more spices than tea!! Those who don't need THAT much of a spice may be very happy mixing this with plain black teas as well.

When mixed with the Samurai it is in fact very similar to the Teavana blend. I would argue that it is MORE delicious. The flavor is richer and fuller. By itself, it’s also delicious! It is a very warm cinnamon flavor

This tea has a great Chai flavor, probably my favorite one on Adagio. My only knock is that I feel like the cinnamon is a bit too strong. Nonetheless, I highly recommend trying this one if you like spicy Chai flavors.

A robust, slightly smoky tea. I like it as a chai far more than the Oriental Spice, which is *really* smoky. It's a go-to tea for me when I need an energy boost with a warm, comforting taste.

The chai tea varieties are all packing with flavor. I love to add a little sweet cream to raja and sip in the mornings.

It is a nice blend. It goes well with honey. Cinnamon isn't too overpowering but gives it a bit of a kick. Not the strongest oolong taste.

Delicious! Wonderfully spicy and not too heavy. Can't wait to buy more of this!

I purchased the Raja Oolong Chai. I was very happy with the speed with which it arrived. Upon arrival and after tasting, I was very happy with my purchase. It was exactly what I was looking for in a chai. Update: I have enjoyed this tea so much, when I placed my next order for it I ordered the 16oz bag ;-)

I used to work at Teavana (r.i.p.), so I'm very familiar with their teas, and this is a great substitute for the Maharajah Chai Oolong! I mixed it with the Guacho Mate Chai to mimic the Maharajah Samurai blend they sold :) Yum!

The cinnamon spice is Strong with this one, its good but i cant taste the tea much. Probably best in the winter time.

I don't know if it's the spice blend, the oolong, or both, but this is a lot more gentle and balanced chai than many others I've had.

I really loved this chai! I loved it so much that I drank 2/3 of it plain before remembering I needed to add sugar & milk to write a thorough review.

First, plain, obviously I loved it. It has a very strong cinnamon and clove flavor, but I could still clearly detect the ginger, cardamom, and black pepper. There's an inherent sweetness to it that caused me to hardly notice the lack of sugar. It was a beautifully complex flavor that I just kept going back to.

Adding sugar kicked up the pepper a notch, but intensely magnified the cinnamon. I'm used to sugar making subtle flavors less subtle, but, in this case, the cinnamon was magnified to the extent that it largely eclipsed the other flavors. I'm guessing that the reviewers who said cinnamon was the only flavor added sugar. It really did taste like a cinnamon candy at that point.

Milk did exactly what I expected post-sugar: it mellowed out the cinnamon. Unfortunately, that did nothing to resurrect the other flavors, and it just ended up tasting like cinnamon milk. Very disappointing.

I never thought I'd recommend drinking a chai plain, but here I am, doing just that.

Puts me on mind of Teavana's Samurai Chai, which was always a favorite. Nice spice flavor.

I'm not crazy for cinnamon, but it's well balanced here, and I can go for it. A hint of spiciness that is energizing.

Wonderful full bodied tea. I usually drink Roobios Cinnamon Chai and this one is another of my favorites it has even more flavor that the roobios and I will always order this! Another of my favorites!

This is the tea equivalent of Big Red gum. Every sip was the exact cinnamon-y sweetness and spicy flavor that is the gum. It was so good! And it really wasn t that spicy as far as burning goes, which was nice because it still had the good flavor. I recommend!

I love the cinnamon in this tea - it's quite strong and I love it with a little bit of milk!

This has become one of my morning go-tos for caffeinated tea. If cinnamon is not your thing, you will not like this though as the cinnamon comes through more than the other flavors.

I am not a fan of the coffee shop chai at all. However, I am very happy that I took a chance on the Raja Oolong Chai. I am in love with it and drink it daily at work. The cinnamon stands out to me.

I LOVE the Raja Oolong Chai blend -- it is spicy and delicious. And the fragrance! This is a new fave!

I've been trying a variety of chai teas from multiple companies. This one is the winner! My favorite - and I've tried a lot. And, even after several years now, this is still my go-to a.m. tea!

Love this tea! I love having this oolong option for the moderate caffeine level, plus I just like oolong tea. I haven't tried any of adagio's black tea chais so I can't compare, but I do think this one has a more intense flavor than the Rooibos Vanilla Chai (though I love that one as a caffeine free option !)

Not only does it taste great, but the smell is incredible. I add a splash of milk, and love the taste.

Really flavorful. Me and my boyfriend go through this tea so fast.

Mixed this with the masala chai to try and replicate my long gone teavana blend. Overall it got pretty close, so I'm a happy camper.

As other reviews have mentioned, this has a predominantly cinnamon flavor. It's great if you like cinnamon, but I would probably choose a chai with masala. I do like that this is blended with oolong instead of a regular black tea.

If you like cinnamon flavor, you'll love this tea! This was my introduction tea to Adagio!!

I am not as big of a fan of this Chai tea, as a traditional Masala Chai seems to balance the flavors a bit more. I really like cinnamon, and so I was hoping for a touch more, but this was almost exclusively cinnamon flavor. I think in the future I will blend this with some Masala and hopefully knock down the cinnamon level.

So very cinnamony I love it this is my absolute favorite.

I loooovve Chai tea (redundant name, I know) and this has the perfect flavor. I got a sample and I'm planning to order a full size the next time I order more teas. I highly recommend this for anyone who likes the Chai flavor.

It’s a good chai, not the best I’ve had but it holds its own, and very tasty with a little bit of peach honey.

A good chai if you like cinnamon. The cinnamon was a little too strong for my taste. I mix this tea with a basic black tea like Irish Breakfast for a more subtle flavor.

If you like cinnamon, you will love this chai. It is very bright and spicy.

Smooth cinnamon flavor, a tiny bit of spice, and an overall smooth and enjoyable cup of chai. Does not need anything to be added, even for those who are used to adding sweeteners and milks...perfect as is! One of my absolute new favorites.

This wasn't my favorite tea but that is because I was looking for something a little sweeter and more ' chai' taste.

I absolutely loved the Maharaja Chai Oolong & Samurai Chai Mate from Teevana. It was suggested by Adagio that I mix this with the Samurai Mate & it's a VERY close match! So happy to have tried this. Thanks for the suggestion Adagio! :)

Never had a spicy oolong tea and I am a fan now. The first taste I got was the cinnamon bark which was great not that unnatural flavor of cinnamon that you get from other tea brands. I steep my tea for a stronger taste because I feel you get all the flavors that way.
