If you like chai and green tea, this is a must try. I don't like this one as much as the masala chai, but it is a good option, when you want something different!
China green tea with a chakra warming spice combination. Clean, refreshing and fiery flavor, soothing finish. Ommm...

I love all the ingredients here, but a green tea, being more delicate than a black, doesn't let the spices shine as much as I'd hoped they would. I had to steep it much longer than the instructions to get the level of spice that I prefer in a chai.
Decent cup of tea. A bit outside my normal type of tea I enjoy, but a great intro to chai.
I love some chai and this one is delicious. Grab a bag and dont miss out on this one. The spice is a little less which is a nice change.
Chai isn't my personal favorite, but I have a lot of people in my life that love chai but don't always want to have black tea. To my surprise, not only did they love it, but I did too. I'd recommend it to anyone who is hesitant about chai and anyone who loves chai.
i really enjoy the green chai. I don't drink black teas so it's nice to get the chai fix with a green tea. flavorful yet light enough for a warm day.
Updated 11/13/25 - Spiced Green looks to have been discontinued, so I tried Green Chai again for the first time since the review below. More delicious than I remembered actually! So I'll survive the loss of Spiced Green haha. I add a couple extra pieces of dried orange peel to each cup and I think it brightens it a touch. It steeps twice nicely, too.
2021 review: The chai spices were a strength that matched the more subtle green tea base, and the inclusion of orange peel added a lovely bit of citrusy lightness to match the green tea. Though not as spicy as black tea chais seem to be, this was certainly spicier than Adagio's spiced green and it's nice to have a lower caffeine chai option. I could taste each ingredient distinctively, and thought cinnamon, cardamom and ginger were stronger than the clove. I think I liked the spiced green better, but I enjoyed this tea! (3 mins @180º)
Good stuff with moderate .caffeine. I made it by seeping 1.5 teaspoons of tea at 190 degrees for three minutes
I had never had a green chai before. Love the orange and cardamom in it. Delicious with a dash of cream.
Green Chai is my preferred Chai. Not super intense but still gives all the spicy goodness Chai is known for
Green Chai Tea is a delightful and refreshing take on traditional chai. It combines the gentle, earthy flavor of green tea with the warm, aromatic spices of classic chai for a perfectly balanced cup that's both soothing and invigorating. Unlike heavier black chai blends, this version feels lighter and brighter, Green Chai Tea offers a cozy, comforting experience without feeling too bold. It’s become one of my favorite teas for a mid-morning pick-me-up or a calming afternoon break. Highly recommended for chai lovers looking for a gentler, greener twist!
Makes the best chai iced tea. Perfect for summer.
good as a cold tea, very refreshing. Would definitely get again and recommend for anyone who's thinking about
This is my go to tea. I will co to ye to buy this tea. The flavor is really good. Buy it you won’t regret it.
This was a tasty part of a communitea sample and I enjoyed it so much that I had to order my own bag!
I really enjoyed this one, it’s spicy without being too spicy and overpowering. I would happily get this one again.
180* for 3 minutes
I feel like you can't go wrong with a chai spice blend no matter the base tea. Cardamom, clove and ginger are always pleasing to my tongue.
Definitely had the chai spice aroma going on. When first sipping it teased with that spice chai bite, but never really gets there. For me, this is just an ok tea. I think it may be just too mellow, but that does not make it bad by any means. I could see this being great for those who find a black tea chai far too overpowering or bold in flavor. Steeped 180° for 5min.
While this tea is being suggested as being a meditative tea, for me it is too spicy to be considered as tea to be associated with meditation. This would be a good tea to have right after you come in from the cold, maybe with a hit of brandy in it. 185F for three minutes.
A very nice chai! Not too strong, but still pronounced enough to identify itself as chai. The warmth lingers on my tongue, it's very fun!
CommuniTEA sample: 3 min @ 180 F, I got 2 infusions out of the leaves. It's very sweet, a little bit spicy, all of the Chai flavors really come through pretty strong! I didn't expect it to work as well with green tea as it does, but you do get some nice, subtle, refreshing hints of green tea, all without any grassiness. I don't think it needs anything added to it, and I think it offers a nice, creative mix of familiar flavors.
A kinder, gentler, but no less assertive Chai! This one is great, perfectly spicy but hits a bit smoother than your standard chai. It's awesome.
Wonderful crisp taste!! If you like both Green and Chai flavors - this tea is for you!! Soo glad I bought it - getting the small samples is a great way to try w/o wasting $$!!
174f at 3 minutes. I wasn't sure how I would like this, but I found that the chai spices really come forward with green tea. Smooth, spicy, and energizing.
Very nice tea. My first chai type tea, but I really enjoyed it. Had half cup plain and then added a little lemon and honey. Was great both ways but preferred with the lemon and honey
This has become my go-to chai. It has a pleasant, mild flavor that allows the spices to shine through nicely. Besides that, I follow a low FODMAP diet as much as I can, so green tea is easier for me to tolerate than black tea. I'm glad I found it.
I kept trying all kinds of teas to be adventurous, but they’re just never as good as this green chai, and I’m always disappointed in them. This is my tea right here. I drink this stuff all day every day, I love it that much. Nothing else can hold a candle to this one as far as I’m concerned. I’ve developed a picky way I like it. I use an electric kettle so the temperature is always consistent and where I want it. This is NOT a forgiving tea so if you forget it’s steeping and wander off for 10 minutes, you’ll ruin it, the clove and cinnamon will overpower everything else, and the clove will make your tongue a little numb if you try to drink it anyway. The electric kettle heats up water faster than a traditional kettle so I just stay right there with it until it’s done. I like my tea really strong, really sweet, and really creamy. I like to drink this tea at exactly 130° once all is said and done; it’s hot, but not so hot you can’t take more than a tiny sip at a time, more like one gulp at a time. I actually steep it a little hotter than they say to, and I let it steep for the duration of time it takes the electric kettle to heat up to the set temperature. I steep it for about 3 minutes at 195°.
Being a fan of Chai teas I had to try this one. I was hoping for a lower caffeine cup that I could have in the evening. It is not as strong as the black or oolong chai teas and I think using milk or cream might drown out the lovely blend of tea and spice flavors. I did add just a couple nuggets of rock sugar that really helped blend the flavors. This tea was lovely iced also! Glad I bought the big bag!
It's good and similar to spiced green. There are many other better chai options, however.
It's a warming green tea with hints of spice, mainly ginger with some clove and orange. Has all the scents, but is a lot milder than most chais. Nice if you want something light and warm.
This is a favourite tea of mine. a delicious spice blend. A very soothing tea. I liked the Spicy aroma as I sipped the tea. I enjoyed this tea with a little honey.
I love chai but sometimes I also want something a little lighter, this one is perfect for that! Yum
Perfect chai. The green instead of the blackrounded and smoothed the base of this chai. The crispness of the spiceswere not to dominate over the green base and played well together. Delicious
I think this one has good flavor and balanced warm spices. It is smooth and you can taste a bit of everything in it. It is definitely a lighter body chai because of the green tea. I think I just like chai with a black tea base more but this was still a solid blend.
A more mellow chai. The spice balance was spot on for the green tea which came across as slightly fruity with the orange definitely detectable - a citrusy green chai. It was nice, I personally like a little more punch from a chai, but this was a nice change of pace that I could see many enjoying.
I'm not fond of chai spiced teas, but I like green tea. I removed the cloves. 2 min@ 165 This wasn't bad, just not one I'd choose because the chai flavor.
Pretty good, but a little weak for a chai. Might steep at a higher temp next time, but it just wasn't enough for me. Just a little more spice :) but still good!
I am loving this tea. I like the lighter tea of the green tea and the chai spice is just right!
April 5th 2024:
Still love Green Chai! I enjoyed this CommuniTEA selection today with Adagio's Decaf Spice blended in & added some creme. This Chai is superb in blends!!
April 25th 2023:
Wafting from the opened CT packet is fresh GREEN aroma & spices. I brewed for 195° for 3 mins and sipped..and found Green Chai is quite fine without additives. Though, nonethless, I decided to add Bees Green Tea Honey and a just a smidge of Florida Crystals and the cup went into the stratosphere--& became a delectable dream. I don't find this cup to be too light in spices, just a perfect amount of warm spice ingredients & notes. I would love to add this to my chai nook, to choose when I want something a little different. 💚
4.5.24 the perfect tea to have during an earthquake ...? :)
yeah green + chai isn't for me but it's a nice version.
Admittedly didn't steep at the recommended 180 (I don't have a fancy kettle). I liked it, but I think if I'm going to have chai I want chai. This was a little medicinal/cloying for me.
4/5/2024 communitea: Yup, it's chai... and it's green! I had mine with a bit of sugar in it. This is a tasty, fruitier chai with almost apple cider type notes even though it's technically a citrus base. The green tea makes it much lighter, fresher, and less bitter than a black tea base. I don't think this is an every day tea for me, but it was definitely nice enough to warrant a positive review.
Tastes like green chai. Very good as a latte in the morning, gives the coffee shop experience at home.
I really like the flavor. It's the best Chai I've ever had
I enjoyed drinking this green chai. I am not sure loved it. I think I prefer chai without green and green without chai.
This is a light chai flavor I really enjoyed the tea . Good blend of each
The spice overpowers the tea significantly. As a Chai goes, it is decent with some sweetener and creamer. I tried it today with some caramel sauce, and it was pleasant. I don't think green tea plays well with Chai spices.
I really love this chai tea. It's a light flavor compared to black chai teas, but you still have the spicy flavor of a chai tea, and you can appreciate the flavor of the green tea in the blend.
I thought black chai was the bee's knee's until I found green chai. Now I can enjoy the spicy aroma and taste of chai in a green version also. I steep longer than black for a more rich flavor. So interesting and great for when I don't feel much like just green tea but need that extra spicy taste.
I tried it cold and hot brewed and the cold brew doesn't get a deep enough flavor but brewed hot it's great.
Delightful! I love a chai but don’t always want the heaviness and caffeine of a black tea chai so this was perfect. Nice with 1/4 t sugar and some soy milk!
