I like this tea. It has a strong aroma & taste of cloves. Try to drink this tea while hot. I found the flavor really changes as it cools.

Sorry, but I didn't appreciate to flavor and the cocoa overtones.

★★★☆☆

I love chai, but this wasn't necessarily my fave. Not terrible, but not something I would want to order again.

★★★★★

A very good blend of chai. I steeped it in whole milk on the stove just below the boiling point, and it was some of the best chai I've ever had.

★★★★★

Hearty and warmth is the best way to describe it.

Delicious tea with all of the flavors of the spices.

★★★☆☆

I used the recommended 2t per cup, but this still brewed weaker than I'd like. I'll try brewing longer next time.

Very interesting. My Argentine friend really loved it so gaucho it is!

★★★★☆

I love the combination of the chai seasonings with mate. Normally not a fan of mate, but I couldn't resist trying this combo. Glad I did!

★★★☆☆

This is my least favorite mate blend, which I'm sure is simply down to personal preference. The spice blend is a bit harsh and bitter, and just doesn't suggest chai to me at all. Just not for me.

★★★★★

I am always hesitant to try chai blends because I have encountered some pretty terrible ones. This blend, however, is fantastic. My favorite part is that it leaves my room smelling great for a couple days after I brew it.

★★★☆☆

Bit more mild than other spiced teas. I haven't quite found the proper time-to-tea ratio.

★★★★☆

love anything with chai, but can't say I really enjoyed it as much as I thought I would

★★★★★

Delicious. I wasn't sure if I'd like this or not, but it was wonderful. Nice and spicy and full of flavor, and got rid of my headache in a hurry. All good things.

Basically tastes like a perfect combination of two of my favorite Adagio teas, spiced mate and masala chai!

★★☆☆☆

I wanted to like this, but the anise and cardamom overpowered the rest of the flavors. It had an overly bright taste, bordering on sour.

I actually really like this mate tea. I love chai in general, but I'm iffy of Adagio's toasted mate, but I like this! The mate lets the spices shine which is a nice change from basic chai where the tea base sometimes overwhelms the spices.

I really like this chai. Nice and spicy with the added benefit of having lots of caffeine.

A good option if you're looking for a milder chai

★★★★★

I really like this! Spicy and flavorful. Will get this again when I can.

High-test pick-me-up for those mornings you feel a little slow, but still want a warm and toasty treat.

★★★☆☆

This tea was okay. The chai flavor could have been stronger.

★★★☆☆

I like my chai teas the spicier the better. This one is okay. it takes a lot of leaves to get it strong and spicy, and the mate isn't as bold as the usual black tea base. The flavor is nice, very forward in ginger, cardamon, and anise. It makes for a super smooth and sweet chai without any sweetener. If you prefer mate tea, this would be a lovely change of pace, and perfect for fall. Personally, I need a little more boldness and spice.

I've never been hugely fond of mate, but the chai spices really ake the flavors work.

★★★★★

A very good chai, quite spicy. I like the extra oompf the toasted mate gives to it.

★★★☆☆

Not my favorite chai after trying the masala first but not bad. Steeped a base and added steamed, foamy milk and a touch of honey like I do for my regular chai mornings.

★★★★☆

This is becoming my 3rd standard chai to have on hand, only behind white chai and masala.

★★★★★

This is a great alternative to Masala Chai when you just want something a little different. I would buy it again.

★★★★★

This is a great tea for clove lovers (like me). It has a very nice peppery bite without being harsh. It's spicy but smooth and very well blended. So far I've only tried it au naturel, but it would be great with some cream and sweetener.

I liked it, even though I'm not a fan of yerba mate.

★★★★★

This one's pretty unique. I like Yerba Mate quite a bit, and was curious about this chai. I don't believe I've had toasted mate before, and I'm very impressed! I ended up making this tea while hiking with a friend on our break. It was really great to sip on while relaxing in our hammocks, overlooking the lake, and I think gave us plenty of energy for the hike back. Thank you for an excellent blend!

Pretty good, I found it to be rather herbal but I've had better, will probably buy a sampler again in the future.

★★★★★

Peppery and dominant on clove, this mate packs a hearty punch and makes a great first cup on those mornings when a quick boost of energy is sorely needed.

Oh my goodness!!! This stuff is liquid GOLD! So smooth and mellow, with a nice spice base. This is the first time I've tried it, and being the height of summer hear, I brewed it strong for iced tea. So wonderful!

I love spiced teas, but this is the absolute best I've ever tried. I love the fact that you can brew it longer, really building the flavor, without the bitter tannins. With the price so low, I'll definitely keep Gaoucho on-hand all the time!

Great combo and enjoy the extra caffeine. Still prefer chi.

★★★★★

This was a really well balanced, interesting tea. Initially, I tasted a bit of chocolate and then the chai spices started to kick in. At first, I didn't think the chai spice was strong enough for my taste, but it builds over time. I think this would be a great morning coffee for the fall!

My favorite Chai. I have heartburn since I started drinking this tea I noticed the frequency of my heartburn has been cut down significantly.

Excellent balance of spice and toasty mate. The chai notes are heavier on the nose than on the tongue. A nice bedtime cup.

At first taste, I wasn't sure about this tea. The smell was great: heavy on the cloves, one of my favorite scents, and overall pleasantly strong. However, on first sip, I was surprised by how smooth and subtle the taste was, as opposed to what I had expected. However, by the end of the evening, I was pouring every last drop I could, sad to see it gone so soon. This might even be a new favorite, when it comes to chai, and I'll almost definitely be having a little more of this one soon.

This new Chai was released at Adagio about a month ago.. I wasn't sure how Yerba Mate would blend with chai spices, but let me tell you it is quite tasty!

Nice flavor, overall a nice chai with a light, pleasant flavor

The chai spices are very strong-- they almost drown out the taste of the mate. But I love chai tea and found this to be very satisfying and true to taste for what I would expect. It can be prepared like a chai with milk and boiled together and strained or like a mate in a bombilla with a little honey to sweeten. Or you can just make it like any tea. You really can't go wrong. I will definitely continue to buy this tea and add it to my stockpile of favorite Adagio teas!

tasted like eating a leather belt. I love Chai but not this one. Others might like that but not me.

★★★★★

Very good Chai, the flavors are very similar to the masala chai, but to a seasoned tea drinker you can taste the subtle differences.

★★★★★

I haven' found a chai that I didn't like but this one just shot up to the very top of my list. It is very smooth and full bodied. Just the right hint of chai spices to accompany the mate. Definitely one of my have to reorder listings.
