Not very spicy and not very chocolatly. Somewhere in between. It's good but not a very strong tea.
Exotic Masala Chai flavors from India paired with dark chocolate. Soothing cocoa, zesty warmth, seamless texture.

Not very spicy and not very chocolatly. Somewhere in between. It's good but not a very strong tea.
It took a few cups to decide if I liked this one. It is pretty good especially with a little chocolate soy milk added. I still like the rooibos vanilla chai better.
I enjoyed the chocolate chai, it adds just a little sweetness to the chai taste. You can easily blend in a little more chocolate or chocolate chip to increase the sweetness. My friend absolutely loves the stuff. I ordered the sample tin, had one cup, and within a week the tin was gone.
I don't like chocolate and ordered this because most of the reviews said it was light on chocolate flavor. They were right...and it's a great product. The chocolate flavor tastes like unsweetened cocoa.
I did not like it.
The chocolate flavor was not my favorite
This tea is so delicious, especially if you like chocolate. The chai is definitely the focus and is delicious, but there's a nice underlying taste of chocolate that doesn't take away from the tea but gives it a sweet aftertaste.
The blend of chocolate and chai is wonderful! I little bit of honey really brought out the chocolate flavor of this tea.
Love this Chai! Doesn't taste very much like chocolate, but the spices are just the way I like them.
I was going to rate this as just good, because it's intense, but then realized that that's part of what makes it great. The chocolate chai doesn't hold any punches -- I have to use cream or it actually stings a little. This ain't your grandma's chai (unless your grandma is really freakin badass)
Bought this for my mother and she LOVES it. Great for a sweet tooth (but without all the calories!).
I love this tea with cream and sugar. As a word of advice, there are a lot of flavors going on in this brew (which all work wonderfully) but do not blend! Great as is. I tried it with cream and coconut and it was a flavor disaster!
I really enjoy this tea with a splash of cream. Not quite as chocolaty as I had hoped but still a really good tea.
I don't know why it's called chocolate, since there was absolutely NO detectable chocolate flavor. That being said, it's the first spice tea I've tasted that I actually liked. I just have to call it spice tea instead of chocolate tea. My 9-year-old daughter who loves her oolong didn't like this one at all.
Firstly, this tea smells wonderful out of the tin. When brewed, I do not get a ton of chocolate flavor, mostly cinnamon and clove. (I think). The spice taste could be a little stronger, but it is a very drinkable tea.
I quite like this tea. I boil it in water for about 10 minutes then add a bit of milk and sugar and bring it up to just before boiling. Then strain it and enjoy.
I adore Chai`s and this one is interesting. I don`t find it to be overly sweet and the chocolate flavor is just right.
I enjoyed this chai very much. The aroma of the dry leaves is slightly spicy with a chocolate scent. When brewed, the aroma of the tea is enhanced: stronger spiced scent with the hint of chocolate. I tried this in my usual array of chai teas: hot with no additives then sugar and milk one at a time.
Brewed hot without sugar or milk it is enjoyable. There is a spice flavor with a sweet undertone. When sugar is added, it enhances the very slight chocolate flavor that was the undertone and makes it more prevalent. When sugar and milk are added it makes for a delicious creamy, spicy tea, with a suggestion of chocolate.
What makes this tea stand out from the rest of the Adagio Chai teas is not the chocolate, or the natural sweetness along with the spice; it is the fact that the tea is still delicious once it cools. This is a true rarity for me, as I do not like when chai tea cools, I feel the spices become overwhelming and you lose all flavor of the tea. This is not the case with Chocolate Chai, the spices are stronger when cooled, but they are still mellowed by the underlying sweetness of chocolate, which allows the true flavor of the tea to still shine through.
Overall, this is my favorite chai tea. Highly recommended. Definitely going to need to get more.

I thought this was the strongest flavor of the chai teas. I don't usually add sugar or milk, but this one was particularly good with a little cream.
I was mixing my own using Masala Chai and either the Chocolate tea or the Chocolate Chip along with Cream tea. I've added additional Masala to this one. If you like, try adding Caramel tea.
Smells heavenly! This seems to be a mildly flavored variety of chai. I'll be making mine roughly twice as strong in the near future...
I found the chocolate taste a lot stronger than the other reviewers - it tastes faintly like hot chocolate while still maintaining a good spicy taste. Probably my favorite so far.
Can't really taste any chocolate, but it's a good, well seasoned Chai tea, full of cinnamon and clove
it tastes like Mayan chocolate. A wonderful mix of spices and cocoa and black tea.
To my tastes the chocolate is so subtle, I was hoping for a stronger flavor. I'm glad I got the sample tin. I'll finish the sample off, but i probably won't order again. I like the masala chai better.
This does have a nice chocolate taste with the typcial chai masala spice blend. I would recommend this as something good to blend with other teas for a bit of an extra kick. It does make a good tea but I would recommend it with warm milk a a little bit of sweetening to bring out the flavors.
This is my favorite of the chai sampler. This is a great pick-me up tea when you would normally chow down on some chocolate, this is much better for your waist line.
Out of the chais on Adagio, I like this one the best. It is a little less harsh, and the chocolate pieces help counteract the intense spiciness. I do like to mix it with another tea to lower intensity further.
This is my favorite chai. It is a nice afternoon tea.
Great flavor, not overpowering, but tastefully spicy and sweet. I usually add milk and sugar, definately a dessert type tea.
Tastes great but smells even better! Great plain or with milk and sugar.
Pretty decent chai blend. Spices are reminiscent of some colas I've had before. Mine didn't have an incredibly strong chocolate flavor.
Cinnamon and spice chocolate taste. Not a very smooth chocolate tho. The steeped aroma isn't too bad but I'm just not sure about this taste. It reminds me when I was in grade school and used to chew on my pencil...that aftertaste you had...ek...with Cocoa Powder on it...yeah...that's it...Cocoa Powder flavored pencil wood. I hate to say anything about any of Adagio's Teas because I totally LOVE their company but This certainly isn't one of my favorites...so sorry...
Chocolate tea is usually a scary adventure for me in tea. Most of the time I do not enjoy it but Chai is a different story. Although not my favorite chai, when milk is added, it is a great drink. I probably will not get this tea again, but only because I enjoy the other chai better
This is my wife's new favorite tea. We bought a sample and will be coming back for more. The flavor is so deep and yummy.
This is a good flavored chai. The chocolate isn't too strong, but it definitely adds some flavor to the chai base.
There was something a little artificial tasting about the chocolate flavor, more of an aftertaste than anything, not as good as the other chai teas.
I love it. I can taste all the spices and the chocolate adds a nice warmth to it.
A really nice combination of chai with a smooth undertone of chocolate--more like cocoa, not too sweet but definitely chocolate. I really liked this one.
The chocolate is too overpowering for my taste. I will not buy it again.
I've been making my own version of thos for a while now, so it's nice to have a ready to go premixed version instead.
A fun variant of chai, the chocolate taste comes through, rounding out the flavour. Great with honey and vanilla soymilk! I was hoping for a more stronger chai though.
This has a great chocolate flavor to it. I prefer a little more black to to my chai, but this is still tasty.
A bitter tea with absolutely no hint of chocolate taste or smell. The worst chai I have ever purchased.
This is great, especially with milk and sugar added to it.
I actually like this Chai iced (and mixed with a little almond milk) more than I do hot. The Chocolate Chai Masala that was offered last Christmas was a more pure Chai and chocolate combination than this selection.
I love Chai so I am always looking for a new Chai. This was very good.
I'm working on trying to like Chai tea. I found this one to be my favorite.
Very good tea, but I can't really taste the chocolate. I prefer the masala chai.
The chocolate flavor of this chai wasn't as pronounced as I thought it might be; it's still a nice flavor and scent.
Very spicey. It's much better with milk than without.
