★★★☆☆

Oddly enough I was very underwhelmed by this tea. I was too weak in the chocolate flavor to taste like chocolate, it was too weak in the chai flavor to taste like good chai (yes I know chai is just “tea” in Hindi, no one cares and everyone knows what I mean). If your interested definitely get a sample first.

This is the best Chocolate chai tea I have ever tasted. The chai notes in this tea stands out with the add bonus of Chocolate

This was just ok. I added 3 tsp of tea to 12 ounces in a mug. I also added Stevia to mine as I am diabetic. The aroma out of the packet was great, though my boyfriend wasn't a fan. Prior to the stevia it was ok, with more spice than anything. but once I added the sweetener it overpowered the flavors. Next time I will try it with sugar or honey, and update if necessary.

This tea is excellent for making a dirty chai. The chocolate flavor isn't overly strong, but lends itself well to adding espresso.

This tea was absolutely delicious! One of the best communitea flavors I've discovered so far, I loved it with a bit of cream and sweetener

Update: I truly enjoyed the chocolate chai today. The spices were just right and didn't overwhelm the chocolate flavor. The resteep, although much milder, was tasty too.. I m adding an extra star to my original 4 star rating. I loved this flavorful and nicely balanced tea today. It was perfect and delicious!

Enjoying this chocolate chai tea today reminds me of sipping a spicy hot chocolate. With a dairy add and sweetener, this tea becomes dessert like with a kick. My two steeps, though, were very different in flavor. The first steep featured the ginger and cinnamon spices as the main flavors with the chocolate taste taking a backseat. And in the second steep, my favorite, the two fiery spices had mellowed from their first dunking which allowed the chocolate flavor to come forward more. The Ceylon tea base added body to the tea but I found its flavor light in this blend and it contributed very little astringency to the aftertaste.

My heavily aromatic CommuniTEA packet had a nice helping of 3 grams of tea which measured 2 level teaspoons of all ingredients. The spicy scent of ginger and cinnamon with a hint of chocolate all came through in the taste of the tea. I brewed at black tea temp. of 212F for 5 minutes in a 10 oz. mug. Upon first sip, the brown liquor had a cinnamon nose and a ginger taste with a flavor of chocolate in the background with no bitterness detected. To mellow and smooth the heavy spices, though, I used Adagio’s chocolate whipped honey to sweeten which brightened and brought forward more the chocolate flavor. In the second steep using less water, the chocolate flavor became the main taste (hurray!) and I could sip plain without sweetening. I let some of the tea from this second steep cool and I could enjoy this flavor iced as well.

This is my first chocolate chai tea and I liked it well enough. However, I would reach for Irish Stout when the chocolate tea mood hit me or when the chai one did, I would probably reach for masala or turmeric chai with The Lucky Cat fandom being one of my favorites. This chocolate and chai tea would have to be in perfect balance for me to swoon and to be fair, In a bigger sample, I might find it.

Much better this time around. Steeped 3ish mins @ 200°. Had an unexpected spicy kick - maybe from the ginger? Or cinnamon flavor? It was a little weird but I can handle spicy so it was good overall.

I didn’t really taste the chocolate. It was a good spice tea.

9/21/2023 - I added some cocoa nibs and some cocoa but still didn’t get a real chocolate taste. Lots of spice taste.
This tea was not bad - it was just basically a chai tea. My sample had a faint chocolate aroma but that flavor didn’t really materialise in the taste. I got good spice flavour - just lacked chocolate.

Chocolate and chai… I would have not thought of this but it works. Subtle chocolate flavor and aroma with a light chai. Nice with a little honey.

Yum! I enjoyed the chocolate chai tea. I’m normally not a huge fan of chocolate in tea. This is definitely an exception it blends very well with chai.

Masala Chai is my comfort tea. If you like chai and chocolate, the chocolate chais are pure indulgence. Personally, I like the chocolate chai pu-erh better, but it's a close call - my guess is that if you like strong tea, dark chocolate, deep red wines, etc, you'll like the chocolate chai chai pu-erh better, and if you like lighter tea, milk choc, and lighter wines, you'll like this one better. Adding sweetener brings out the spice; adding milk or cream brings out the chocolate flavor.

This has a pleasant chocolate and spice aroma, heavier on the chocolate. I could taste some mild chocolate and spice before sweetening. Added sugar and milk and the chocolate came out more, but the spice was stronger. It's great that this chai doesn't have cloves, but my affinity for no caffeine and not black tea makes Honeybush Pumpkin Chai my preference.

Add chocolate to anything, and you have my attention! However, if you add it to tea, I'm usually inclined to say 'it doesn't belong there'. But wait, chocolate in chai is an exception! The top heavy flavors of ginger and cinnamon combined with the rich sweetness of the chocolate are well suited together. Delectable!

The cinnamon spice of this reminds me of Mexican Hot Chocolate. I sampled this Tea as part of the CommuniTEA March box.

I would have liked this more without the chai spices, but I guess then it wouldn't be Chai Chocolate, would it?

Still a nice cup of tea that I enjoyed, but saving my 5 stars for the ones that really sweep me off my feet.

I'm not sure how I haven't gotten around to reviewing chocolate chai before because it is absolutely one of my favorite teas! It has a delicious chocolate flavor that blends beautifully with chai spices. It is an absolute treat, especially in the fall!

8 oz, 50/50 Chocolate Chai and Spearmint, 3 mins @ 195* F, hot with sweetener and cream.

I don't like straight up chocolate teas, but blended its delicious. I can't get enough of the chocolate chai puerh blended and while this isn't quite as rich as the puerh, its still quite tasty.

Updated Review on 9/21:
Love this Choc Chai!! I added a bit of creamer and some rose petals for a romantic cup! Though, I'm a Choc Chai Puerh grrl, however, over solely Choc Chai.

My new favorite chai blend, the chocolate notes make it even warmer and toastier. Sometimes I steep mine longer than recommended to account for the amount of milk and sweetener I add when I want a milk-tea version, but I've had success with anywhere from 3 to 5 minutes.

Yummy sand a real treat with fewer calories than a candy bar! Nice afternoon pick-me-up. Add a little cream to round out the moment.

The sweetness of the chocolate and the spices go together perfectly and have a great contrast. A delightful drink!

I wasn't sure I would enjoy this. I love chocolate but I wasn't sure how that would translate to tea. This tea is beyond delicious! It tastes like chocolate took a relaxing spring break with cinnamon.

The chocolate doesn't come through much for my taste. It's a pleasant chai on its own. The Choco adds a slight creaminess, but is distracted from the heavy ginger/cinnamon flavor. Good, but more chai forward than chocolate

It's good, but not excellent. 2 out of 5 stars (for me). Try their chocolate tea or chocolate truffle, those are amazing, but this is just 'good'.

A nice black chocolate chai, but a bit bitter, even at a 3 min steep. I recommend the chocolate chai pu erh over this one.
