Such a smooth and elegant taste. I would drink this every day if I could afford it!
Silver Needle white tea is among the most revered of Chinese teas. Gathered only for a few days in early spring, a dedication to perfection is evident in the pale, ivory-colored liquor. Delicately honeysuckle floral, with a warmed sugar sweetness.

Such a smooth and elegant taste. I would drink this every day if I could afford it!
I tried this for the first time by adding it to the Jasmine Phoenix Pearls. Amazing!! This is one of my favorites!! You will love it!!
I drink jasmine tea like others drink coffee! This is now my go-to. I really like to make two cups with the tea as the second cup has a different, but equally delicious flavor.
I liked the tea. I will order again. Thank you!!!
Love having a great jasmine tea as a white tea! This will likely become a standard white tea I keep on hand.
I am new to white tea so keep that in mind while reading this review. The first brew I carefully measured one teaspoon into my bag and drank it black. I could hardly discern any taste at all. The next try, I did 1 and 1/2 tsp with only 6 oz water and steeped about 3.5 minutes. On this tasting, I could discern a honeysuckle like naturally sweet and delicate flavor. I drank this with nothing added. I was hoping to taste a light grape flavor but did not. A friend of mine from the Philippines had a cup and raved that this was the best Silver Needle that she has ever tasted. She went on to explain why this tea is more expensive due to the harvesting process, and said that in Asian culture it is a coveted tea. I will certainly try this again and keep an open mind. I do think it's worth a sample purchase for those who enjoy white teas.
I haven't yet had this tea on my own, but use it to blend my Searching for Brigadoon tea. Just a few leaves go a long way in my blending, and I'm very pleased. Temperatures mentioned are as used in my blend.
Fruit hides in the background of this one, but only mildly. Love this green so much it's such a meditative sip. This one was super mellow and a good introduction to greens if someone has a hard time with grassy flavors as this one doesn't have them at all really. It has some floral notes in the finish, but not like rose or jasmine something more subtle I think. 180° 3 min
It had a nice sweetness on tbe aftertaste that I did enjoy. I had let it cool a bit but it was still a. Really.rich and fulfilling tea
Brewed at 167 for four minutes. Very light and smooth, with no astringency. Definitely a refreshing tea.
a lighter, delicate tea, definitely for sipping hot, and savoring
This is one of the few teas that I drink without adding a sweetener. It's light and delicate, and I really enjoy it. I steep it at 165°F for 3 minutes.
I found this to be a soft, sweet, light tea. I tend to prefer black teas, but Ii enjoyed this white one.
Very nice light brew. Light floral flavor and smooth body. Very enjoyable!
updated review from 9/10: “CommuniTEA sample: 3 min @ 180 F for the first two infusions, 3.5 min for the third infusion. An excellent white tea! Very, very soft, subtle flavors but an enjoyable white tea for sure. It's mildly sweet and has some notes that remind me of dried green herbs - not one in particular, just in general. It has a very subtle sweetness that also tastes fruity, without tasting like any particular fruit. Mostly, it tastes like white tea! It's a gentle, clean mouthfeel and just generally a mild tea, but a nice one.”
This is my favorite silver needle I have found and I’ve tried maybe five different ones. It takes a little longer for me to steep but it’s really delicious, light and flavorful-not too earthy and touch of sweet. I love it.
This one did not taste how I expected. I am fairly new to white tea on its own so I did not know what to expect the white tea I had in the past tasted different. However this tea was still amazing, I think it would taste even better blended
You simply cant beat silver needle. While this product is not cheap, it is incredibly smooth and mixes well
This was my first foray into “grandpa style” tea, and really seems to be suited for a leisurely balcony afternoon.
May not have put enough tea in the first cup I tried; a little lacking in flavor. will try again with a little more tea. Said good for several infusions.
I was not impressed with this tea. For the first try I placed several leaves into the pot, approximately the volume I normally use with oolong teas. The flavor was so subtle it was as though I was drinking hot water. I tried it again, this time using about 1/3 of the sample I had received. The sample said it was enough to make 5 cups. This amount produced a bit more flavor, but not enough for me to feel it was satisfying. Really, there wasn't much flavor. For the next brew I will likely try the remaining volume in the sample and hope to have a strong enough flavor to enjoy drinking the hot liquid.
Update: I added a large volume of tea to the pot and was unable to enjoy the subtlety of the flavor. I won't spend more money on this tea.
This is an incredible, light white tea. The flavor is delicate and refreshing, and I like that the shape of the leaves makes for easy clean up.
My daily cuppa. First drink in the morning before breakfast. Mild with a grassy finish and just enough 'pick me up' for the day. Will be buying again.
This one is a very enjoyable evening tea. It's flavor is a little different than the silver needle tea I used to get from Teavanna. A bit brighter in flavor
A very, very light green tea. Not especially grassy or flavorful, but still pleasant all things considered. Goes well with a light helping of milk and sugar.
Very delicate tea, but flavor fades pretty quickly over multiple infusions.
this might be my all time favorite so far. hard to describe but it tastes like pure freshness.
its a little spendy but if you try it you wont regret the purchase.
This tea is very light and has a good flavor. I was worried it would not meet my expectations but it has exceeded them!
For a white tea, it's pretty good. Light, slightly sweet and lightly floral.
I feel I'm not doing this tea justice with brewing it in a single pass instead of multiple short brews in a gaiwan. That said even a single steep of 3 minutes at 180° made a beautiful mellow cup of tea.
This silver needle white tea is a smooth and clean refreshment to have after a long day. Definitely going on my to buy list in the future.
Delicate, smooth, sweet and zero bitterness!
Very light and delicious
The silver needle tea is such a lovely lite tea. I love the subtle floral flavor .
A stunningly sweet white tea, so light and simple and refreshing.
I think my palate isn't yet developed enough to appreciate white tea. This just tasted like water to me, with a very faint flavor.
Upon opening the CommuniTea portion packet I immediately caught the earthyness of this tea. I am a fan of white and green teas so this was a welcome scent. I added some Adagio honey for green tea (yes, I know this isn't a green tea) and that accentuated the sweetness of the delicate leaves.
A lovely light tea that is of flavor! I like the subtle sweetness it has.
My favourite white tea, and one I've struggled to find since Teavana's closure! A light, delicate flavour that doesn't require sweetener.
Silver Needle is my go to tea before bed. It has great flavor.
A nice light tea. I would of likes a little stronger if a taste and aroma
I have only tried a single cup so far. It was a little weak, but I think I didn't put as much in the cup as needed. What I did taste was pleasant and slightly sweet. This also didn't get bitter on me so next time I will steep longer to get more flavor.
An excellent tasting tea that is great for grandpa style steeping and sipping.
So clean, light, and delicate. I love this silver needle.
Very light and simple, and it makes you feel like you’re drinking royalty because of the price. It is a good tea on its own, or with just a hint of sweetener or honey. A very gentle floral honeysuckle flavor is also present.
Excellent morning tea, incredible flavor, light and floral. Definitely one of my favorite teas so far.
I like this tea for something different but for me it seems to lack attitude. It is a mellow tasting tea but I find it lack richness.
a solid silver needle option. withstands about two brewings. however, try the jasmine silver needle - it is less expensive (slightly) and seems to stand out more with flavor. Was hoping to get 3+ brewings like with other silver needles, not the case here.
This white tea is so light and airy! Perfect tea for sipping midday.
It somehow tastes better with each new cup -- an unexpected surprise! I added ~2 more minutes for each new cup.
silky smooth and surprising flavorful. Expensive but worth every penny. Sometimes something simple and light works best and every day tea.
