It is ok. The dark broth was surprising. The flavor is different. I'm careful with valerian because it consistantly gave me palpitation in the past.
One cup before bed makes for an ideal way to unwind and lull yourself into a deep slumber.

It is ok. The dark broth was surprising. The flavor is different. I'm careful with valerian because it consistantly gave me palpitation in the past.
I quite like the flavor on this -- herby and slightly medicinal, but in a way I'm really enjoying. (I quite like herb-y teas.) Remains to be seen how much it'll help with sleep tonight, but I'm optimistic!
I love this so much! Never had valerian root before but with the spearmint and lemon balm I very much enjoyed this! Hopefully I sleep well tonight :)
Not sure how I felt about this one. Had an aroma that I didn't really like. Tasted better than I'd expected though.
Not my favorite tasting tea, but wasn't bad. Really did relax me and help me get ready for bed.
Too many conflicting components in this tea for me. There’s something I don’t enjoy but I can’t pinpoint it. I’m actually wondering if I might need a sweetener to soften a flavor because I love the idea of a tea for sleeping but need it to feel less like medicine.
The Valerian root is prominent in the aroma, a definite medicine smell, and the mint does a good job of making it tolerable. I'm a fan of most of the ingredients. Didn't see any cherry. I can't say I specifically taste the valerian root, I get mint and chamomile for sure. I'm going to mix this with Slumbering Sloth and add some extra valerian root for sleep.
It tastes okay and looks very pretty, but it smells very strange. It reminds me of thyme.
I really needed this tea today to relax. The flavors married wonderfully and I found the tea soothing. I picked up the lavender and camomile. i added a little honey.
I was surprised that I liked it. The smell was so grassy.
Very very strong floral aroma and taste. It left a soapy aftertaste. Not for me.
Sometimes a tea can make you feel the tension and stress loosen and melt away in your muscles. This is one of those. For valerian root to be the first ingredient, I was prepared to be turned off by the tea and its smell, but the spearmint and other flavors really cover that up for me and yielded a very nice and calming cup of tea. Maybe I shouldn't have drunk it mid-day; I may find myself napping in the corner at work.
This stuff really works. On nights when I still feel wired an hour or so before bed, I brew a cup of this and drift gently to sleep at bedtime. The taste is relaxing and soothing as an herbal blend.
This tea is fine if you like spearmint and chamomile, but I don’t. This is not a reflection on the tea in general but of my personal preferences in tastes. Many people I know really enjoy it but it’s just not for me.
Interesting herbal flavor. This is a ‘working’ blend so I’m not basing this review entirely upon flavor. Good for catching some Zzzs.
This tea has all the things to help me relax, mellow out and sleep plus great surprising flavors.
I have never been disappointed by the different flavors.
So many great herbal options and this is another fave of mine. On the site today to purchase more. Love it.
Nice little bedtime tea. I usually don't like minty teas but I found this one quite enjoyable with a spoon of honey
Really enjoy this tea. Perfect for a cup before bed!
I Drink it every night. It has a Great taste. and floral aroma
This tea really works to help you fall and stay asleep. I don’t love the taste but think of it as medicine and drink it for that purpose.
Not to bad. Not one of my new go to though. But decent.
Great for helping me to fall asleep. It takes me to dreamland every time. I highly recommend this for anyone who has trouble sleeping.
Can't say whether it helped me fall asleep but the flavor was good.
Great bedtime tea, I prefer it over CS’s sleepy time tea as an evening board game or reading tea. I would personally like a bit less chamomile in the mix. We brew covered for 5-10m to trap essential oils from the herbs during steeping
Helps me sleep and tastes good as well! I drink this when I am having a hard time going ro bed.
It's pretty good but not enough to make me keep reordering it. After I finish the one pound bag I currently have I'll be moving on to something else. The lavender in it is so overpowering that the other herbs in there get lost so it's one-dimensional and boring.
We always have a supply of 40 winks in our pantry! Great to help calm down before bed, we have a cup or two almost every night!
I genuinely never believed in sleepy time teas but… this one works, and it’s delicious.
This is the go-to tea im getting for falling asleep fast lol truly the best sleepy tea
This tea is a winner. It has such an earthy, citrusy taste with notes of floral notes. I like my tea strong, so I added 2 tsp for my 12oz and I steeped it at the max time.
I use this tea almost every evening. It is a great way to unwind and I find that I sleep much better.
My husband calls it stinky winks and before brewing it might not smell the best. But after brewing the smell is gone and it’s delicious.
40 winks will make you dream sweetly with its soothing and relaxing taste and aroma. This blend has a light and refreshing aroma that combines the earthiness of valerian root, the sweetness of honeybush tea and cherries, and the floral notes of chamomile, lavender, and cornflowers. The flavor is smooth and full-bodied, with a balanced and satisfying taste of valerian root, with hints of minty, fruity, and herbal notes. This blend is caffeine-free, so you can enjoy it before bed or anytime you need a break. 40 winks will make you say 'zzz' with every sip.
The Valarian root had a little too much flavor for me to enjoy this tea, I had to sweeten it quite a bit and I still didn't love it, It did however make me feel relaxed and ready for bed.
This tea is ok but not as nice as some other relaxing teas that I have tried. I know there isn't any thyme in this tea but I can't help but feel like it tastes like thyme.
Love the scent of this tea. Almost like a perfume.
My girlfriend and I love this tea before bed. Very relaxing
The taste takes some getting used to but it doesn't fail to help make me sleep. Update 2024* - This is a staple in our house, when someone is having trouble sleeping this is the tea. We've found that other sleep supplements/teas have given horrible nightmares but it's not the case with this one.
Nice blend. Aroma is enticing. Definitely helps get my 40 winks 😉
I really enjoyed this. I am a mom and sometimes it can be hard to shut my mind down and sleep for the night. This was beautiful and a very relaxing blend. I got the best night of sleep in a long time.
I enjoy this tea. Nice layers of earthiness, some anise, and a little mint. I was surprised that I enjoyed the mint in a night-time tea, but it was subtle and ended up being a welcome addition.
My entire family has joined my nightly ritual of sipping Winks before bed. Its calming effect and fragrance is lovely. Highly recommend!
This tea is the best! My husband loves it and drinks it every night. The flavor is pretty excellent and goes well with a little honey.
Drinking this right before bed has been a lovely addition to my evening routine! It's really soothing.
I've been looking for a loose leaf replacement for the usual bedtime tea I drink. This one is pretty good! The chamomile is a touch strong, but overall a decent tea for bedtime.
This tea is perfect to help you relax before bed. Visually, it is lovely cup with a soothing scent.
Love the taste of this one. Very calming. It’s also very pretty.
Such a mild tea. I love to enjoy it in the evening after a long day at work
