The glass Water Kettle is a fabulous kettle to have, HOWEVER, unfortunately the cover does NOT come equipped with a silicone wrap to keep the cover from falling off and possibly burning the user! I inquired about this problem and Adagio said that piece is not offered. My former glass from Bodim included the silicone with the cover. Buyer beware. Other reviews mention the absence of this piece! Perhaps if you request that safety measure, as I did, the company will take steps to include it!
I was cautious when I bought this due to the negative reviews, so used oven mitts for holding both the handle and lid when I pour.
The pour has been perfect every time, no awkward splashing or spills! And on top of that, I did check to see if the handle and lid got hot from the heat of the burner- they did not. I still take caution just in case I got lucky, but honestly I'm really glad I got this teapot. It's simple, beautiful, and works so so good, especially on a flat electric burner!
I want to love this kettle. It is gorgeous and quite well made, but I have bought three of these, two of which have cracked within a year of careful use. I love glassware, and these are nice, which is why it gets three stars still, but this kettle is very prone to cracking when placed on heat.
I'm actually using this as my brewing tea pot. Buying glass brewing pots from basically anywhere has them shatter at some point a few months down the line. I thought maybe a water kettle would survive better. So far it has survived and been a good tea pot.
Beautiful kettle, boils quickly. Nice to be able to see steam before boil to eyeball a green tea temperature.
UPDATE: unfortunately the handle is easy to snap off, even just from the weight of water in the kettle. It cracked a few weeks ago and then disconnected entirely.
BROKE WITHIN SIX WEEKS! ADAGAIO WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO MAKE IT RIGHT. I used this product gently and one morning, full of boiling water, the handle broke off when I picked it up and the water gushed out. Fortunately I did not get burned but I sent Adagio a photo that day and explained what happened. They did not care! They would offer nothing to make the customer satisfied. Even worse than this product is how little Adagio cares about its customer satisfaction!!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I have a choice where I shop and will be moving on.
Great size. Does not drip when poring.
I was given this kettle by my brother a few Christmases ago and unfortunately broke it a few weeks ago. I was SO HAPPY to find exactly the same one. I love being able to watch the water come to a boil. Beautiful and different and very useful.
Initially thought this was a great kettle but after having to replace it twice, the third one also disappointed. The handle came off after only brief usage. This is not a kettle for anyone who makes tea every day, and more than once a day. Liked the idea of a glass kettle but the quality just is not there. Will ask for a refund and not a replacement this time.
I’ve never had a proper kettle before so I don’t know if this one goes above and beyond others but it’s super easy to use and clean as well as tell when the water is ready. It holds a lot more water then you think which is great for parties.
Perfect! I just adore the Kettle! :Attention' Use kitten mitt to hold the handle. Just takes a few minutes to water boils. Just becarefull to store you kettle or just leave on top of stove.
I really like this kettle because I get to see the water boil. But other than that, it s a regular ole cool kettle. Yet and still, I had to have it.
Update 10/05/20: well, I found out that pouring cool water in a warm pot changed the pressure in the glass and broke the bottom clear through. Oops. So, it’s kind of easy to break...
After some time for boiling water, glissening floaters were noticed which could've the chloric breakdown of tap water, but then the kettle cracked after a few weeks of use, which led me to research and buy an electric kettle — which was a much better purchase
this kettle is so cool looking that when i posted a photo of it on instagram, half my friends thought it was a bong.
This is a great addition to my tea making cupboard. It is light weight but durable and is easy tp use and handle.
Its great, works fine, looks good doing it.
I wish they offered a smaller version of this as its actually really large but thats my only gripe.
This is my favorite tea kettle. I've accidentally broken a few, but I always buy the same kettle from Adagio. It is perfect for my tea!
Love this little kettle! I only wish it had a removable whistle as it heats very quickly and quietly evaporates water. When pouring the very last drops, one needs to hold the lid lightly.

This is such a beautiful kettle - it's great for simply heating water (be careful ... both the handle and the lid can get rather warm), but it's even better to watch the tea steep and/or making chai.
This was a spontaneous purchase, and I’m very happy I went through with it. I was in the market for a new tea pot and figured “Sure why not try this one for that price”. It’s almost amazing how much you block out the slight metallic taste that a traditional pot can instill in your water. After using this glass pot for a week, all tea I’ve brewed has tasted much better as far as I’m concerned. My only issue with the pot is my irrational fear that the handle is going to break off of it.
Great kettle, works well, only wish the handle didn t get so hot!
This is the best water kettle I have ever owned! Handle does not get hot (smooth top stove). I keep the handle at far edge of burner. If you have gas stove it may get warm. The tempered glass is well made. I love watching the bubbles start to form. I do not boil my water, I just allow the bubbles to start forming. The water really gets hot in this kettle and quickly.
I'm enjoy and happy with this kettle, it is very clean.
love this kettle - had my first one for more than 5 years - decided to get a new one just because the kettle had some water deposit stains on it - had company coming over thought the newer one would look better out on the stove
This kettle is remarkable. I expected it would be a good one, and it is definitely the finest glass kettle on the market. It is extremely durable, for it has withstood several bumps and knocks.
I could go on and on about its high qualities, but I will finish by saying that the perfect taste of water poured from this kettle says everything. Try a taste test of plain water after the boil cools down, and you will see what I mean. Every serious tea drinker should use this kettle.
I've been needing a tea kettle for a while. I decided to give this a try! It's very pretty and watching the water boil is fun.
This kettle works very well. I love the fact that it's glass because it's a healthier option. I've never had any problems with this kettle: I've heard others say that their kettle cracks and breaks when using it, but I have found that as long as the stove is not set on high (should be set on low/medium heat), this problem doesn't occur. Great product!

I love this tea pot! I used it as a kettle only, and I use it to brew various teas. And ifyou ever brew the 'bloom' - the look is amazing!
So pretty on the stove and fun to watch the water boil. Just be sure to use a pot holder to pour.

I love this kettle - at first I was terrified about the fact that it was glass, but its rather sturdy. Plus, since you can watch it boil, you don't need to worry about a whistle.

I was in need of a new tea kettle--I discovered my last one was rusty! To prevent using a rusty kettle in the future, I opted for glass. I read tons of reviews and information about several before purchasing and I have to say I am incredibly happy with this tea kettle! I use it on my gas stove between the medium and high setting and have had no problems with it. Also, it's pretty to watch. PS--it doesn't have a whistle so be careful not to walk away and forget about it.
I love this tea kettle! The clear glass is lovely, and the simple design makes it easy to just keep the kettle out on the stove top at all times.
I love this kettle! I got it for my bridal shower 2 1/2 years ago and my brother dropped it and it broke...so I just got another one! I have to use a towel for any kettle, so I don't mind that I have to use one for this kettle as well. Also, taking the lid off to pour is a must!

I got this as a gift for my sister, and she loves that it is so beautiful. It looks much nicer in her kitchen than the typical stovetop kettle. Watching the water boil is relaxing, very zen!
Be warned that the glass is *extremely* thin - broke before first use. Hard to see how anyone can say it's durable.
Light weight, but very durable glass. Only draw back is no whistle on it so you have to pay attention for when the water boils.
I like the look of the glass it looks great setting on my gas range top. I worry about using it with gas but okay so far!
I like it and it heats fast and is fun to watch my only complaint is it doesn't whistle to let me know when it is done so I have to keep and eye on it...Update: The pour spout broke off while washing I am very disappointed
I like this kettle because it's easy to clean and simple to figure out when it needs it. With all the scary chemicals found in places and things you wouldn't expect, I always opt for glass.
I love this little thing. I like being able to watch the water boiling - I know its a small thing, but it looks cool, and it heats up pretty quickly. The only thing you should note is - since its glass, the handle can heat up so if you're pouring into you mug when boiling, just use a mitt or towel or anything. The lid isn't tight/tight so it can fall off, and if your stove top is a little messy (mine is sometimes) that will transfer to your kettle...but very easy to clean!!
I love this kettle. It heats water so quickly and unlike my old metal one, it is much easier to clean. Just to be safe I always use a pot holder on the handle and hold the lid down when pouring. It is also fun to see the water boil. Reminds me of my years working in a chemistry lab.
