Linda was formerly the Training Manager of Adagio. She comes from a strong customer service background and is happy to serve. Before Adagio Teas entered her life and educated her on the proper ways of all things tea. She was drinking Chinese restaurant oolongs from the age of 5 and understanding tea as a tradition reserved only for big occasions in Chinese culture. A few years ago she experienced her first Gong Fu Cha Ceremony with Pu'erh with a group of friends, she then realized that there is so much more to tea than what her family has taught her and that tea is a special time for gathering with friends and family. Linda also enjoys painting, traveling, boardgames, music festivals, and animals of all kinds. Her favorite teas so far are the complex flavors of Yunnan Gold, Assam Harmony, Ali Shan and the ever so delicious Matcha.
Carla Davis - Tea Consultant
Carla is a Texas transplant studying creative writing and early childhood education. Her passion for the wonder that is tea began when she was a little one and continues to grow every day. Carla's favorite teas to drink are the ones that taste good (which is all of them) but matcha is her go-to. When she's not dreaming up crazy tea blends for work, she's either reading, napping, exploring a new place, or playing solitaire.
Elliott Franklin - Tea Consultant
Elliott grew up on chamomile and peppermint teas but his passion for tea started almost a decade ago with an episode of Good Eats. His favorite teas are oolongs, but he'll never say no to a hot cup of Genmaicha on a cold day. He loves concocting blends and nerding out over fandom teas. When he's not working, he can be found writing, drawing, painting or reading comics.
Matt Garcia - Tea Consultant
Matt was born and raised in Chicago. With a bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of Illinois, he has found that health and nutrition are his main focuses in life, and what better way to enhance these areas than by learning and spreading knowledge at Adagio Teas. Before joining the team at Adagio, his only experience with teas was Lipton, Brisk, herbal store-bought tea, and Greek mountain tea (basically, chamomile). After many tastings, home brewings, and much exploration through Adagio's adventurous web site, he has come to discover his favorite teas are of the Oolong variety. He especially loves himself a cup of Ti Kuan Yin. Outside of the tea world, Matt enjoys music (jazz, classical, hip-hop, and classic rock), movies (comedy, superheroes, and tales of glory), and any kind of strategy-based video or board game.
Quinn Leary - Tea Consultant
Quinn is a recent addition to the city of Chicago and to the Adagio family. Having studied Theatre at Butler Univerisity, he is pursuing a career in acting, as well as refining his tea palate. His love for tea was born years ago in a Shanghai restaurant after tasting loose leaf Jasmine Green Tea for the first time. He has sought out that taste ever since, never quite capturing that experience again...until now. Adagio has allowed him to reconnect with a beloved memory while continuing to open his eyes to new flavors and cultures. Some of his favorite teas are the elegant and complex Ti Kuan Yin, Ali Shan, and of course, Jasmine Phoenix Pearls. His other interests include painting, reading (from Antiquity to Aquaman), dancing whenever possible, acting, and music of all kinds.
Sarah Feeney - Tea Consultant
Sarah moved to the area from Phoenix, Arizona, which is pretty much the exact opposite of Chicago. She relocated to study Comparative Literature at Northwestern, but quickly fell in love with blizzards, polar vortexes, and snow of all sorts. She drinks plenty of tea while writing papers, but her favorites are Japanese greens like Gyokuro and Genmai Cha (maybe with a bit of honey if she's feeling indulgent). Her hobbies include reading Russian novels, cooking weird vegetarian food, and watching terrible horror movies.
Shane Tarplee - Tea Consultant
Shane is a local actor/improviser who just loves meeting people. Thatís why being a Tea Consultant seemed like a perfect opportunity to enjoy the work environment Adagio Teas offered him. It is a chance to chat with different people every day and get them excited to try Adagio Teasí colossal array of liquid dreams (in the form of black, white, green, and oolong teas). Shane is a rookie in the tea world, but that is changing at a steep rate after tasting more and more teas week after week. Jasmine Phoenix Pearls are his favorite. When off work and offstage Shane enjoys game nights, Netflix marathons, and seeing local theatre all around Chicago.
Teresa Khoshaba - Tea Consultant
Teresa joined team Adagio right out of high school. Adagio is a great break from her crazy lifestyle as a double-major at DePaul. Teresa loves spending her time inside the tea shop, whether she's helping customers find their perfect cup of tea or learning more about it. Her favorite teas are ever-changing, but Teresa could never turn down a nice cup of Mocha Nut Mate, Raspberry Green or Ti Kuan Yin. While not studying for her Calc exam or sharing her knowledge of tea, Teresa enjoys watching movies, Friends re-runs, reading, and yoga
