Very close to the candy. When brewing, I really picked up that pecan and chocolate scent.
Our Rooibos Pecan Turtle, like its namesake, is blended with the smooth rich flavors you know and love.

Very close to the candy. When brewing, I really picked up that pecan and chocolate scent.
A very fragrant rooibos around the holidays! Easily re-steepable, like most rooibos are.
Smell of pecan pie, very smooth and nutty taste.
I could drink this tea all day everyday. Hard to resist.
One of my favorite teas! Sweet and roasty flavors, perfect as an after-dinner dessert tea (with or without dessert).
This tea is in the running for my favorite rooibos blend. I added a little bit of cream to it and it really satisfied my sweet tooth. Alone with no sweeteners or milk is wonderful as well!
Very good dessert tea. Pleasant flavors of pecans, carmel and chocolate, with caramel being the most dominant.
This is a well-blended rooibos tea with warm pecan and caramel flavors. I can objectively say that's it's good, and I recommend trying it. I'm just never going to purchase it. Sampling it as part of the CommuniTEA was enough for me. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's just something about this one that's really unappealing to me. (5 mins @ 212ºF)
Much more like a butter pecan taste to me than a pecan turtle, it's almost salty in its butterienss, but I love that about it. I had chocolate chips in the mix, but couldn't really taste them in practice. This is an awfully nice rooibos, I liked it a lot, even if it wasn't full of chocolate flavor.
I had all the ingredients in my CommuniTEA packet. A little disclaimer -- I don't like red rooibos and would've skipped today's tea, but based on reviews and ingredients this one seemed worth a shot! Once brewed the smell was nutty, and I didn't smell rooibos. I added a tiny bit of honey. I barely tasted chocolate, more like something like pecan pie or butter pecan. I did drink most of the cup (more than I've ever managed of rooibos), but as it cooled I started to taste the rooibos and quit. I'd recommend this to someone who likes red rooibos, but not for me. I agree with another reviewer who said this might be even better with a honeybush base.
This tasted exactly the way I imagined it would. It even smelled as I imagined it. And it was delicious.
A really nice caffeine-free dessert tea that doesn't need sweetener. I was expecting too much chocolate flavoring, but it leans far more on warm notes of nuts and caramel. This will probably join honeybush banana nut as a solid evening dessert tea after my next order
Welp. I'm buying this one. A decadent dessert tea that is also caffeine free? I'm in. Dark chocolate caramel turtle would be an accurate description of this tea. Rich, smooth, chocolatey, caramel nutty goodness. I steeped for 7 min @ 212 but I think it could go longer.
Smell was better than the taste. No chocolate, and more creme brule vibes, but I like it.
I found this a really bland boring roobios tea. It looked amazing, smelled ok but tasted just...blah. Even the addition of sugar didn't bring much more out for me.
Delicious dessert tea that I sampled as part of December CommuniTEA box. The caramel flavor is strong. It tastes amazing with heavy cream.
Alone, I get the nuttiness and a light sweetness. With added sugar the caramel really comes through.
If you are looking for a nice sweet dessert-like tea that is caffeine-free, look no further. Having tried this as part of the communiTea, I found the aroma from the package to be that of those lovely chocolate treats. I saw chocolate chips, and some dried fruit. When poured the tea produced a deep red color. A little sugar helped to sweeten the tea and make it seem closer to the candy. However, for me, I just dislike Red Rooibos. I wanted to like this. But I Found the chocolate chips give it a slight burnt bitter flavor, and the flavors just were not enough for me to overcome the rooibos.
I love this tea! It is so fantastic! It's a sweet treat in a cup. I love it with milk and sweetener
I missed my normal tea time for this one and made it after dinner. Now I’m glad i did. It’s the perfect dessert tea. I feel like I’m drinking hot butter pecan ice cream and it’s brilliant. So glad this was in this month’s ComminuTEA box!!
Chocolate, caramel, and pecans in one delicious cup of tea. The aroma is like a pecan pie just out of the oven. And the taste isn't far off! The pecan flavor takes center stage in this tea. A little sweetener brings out the caramel and chocolate. Truly a tea to savor, feeling like you are indulging in a turtle, slice of pecan pie, or scoop of butter pecan ice cream. Without the calories or guilt!
My CommuniTea sample today had all of the required ingredients. It had a chocolatey scent dry, which shifted to a more caramel scent as it was steeping.
It had a strong nutty, caramel flavor, with chocolate bringing up the rear as more of an aftertaste - in a good way.
Steeped 5min, 200°F, + sugar
This is fabulous! I expected this to taste artificial, but it's not. It's delicious and sweet without anything added, but I bet it would be delightful with cream.
Nice blend. Caramel can be hit or miss for me sometimes but it worked in this combo (CommuniTEA)
This tea is very good. It is flavorful with a nice balance of pecan, carmel and chocolate.
This was okay for a roobios but not something that I would drink frequently. I did not taste all of the flavors but definitely the chocolate.
Had I not looked at the ingredients list I probably would have assumed this had a honeybush base rather than red rooibos. It has a wonderfully mellow, nutty flavor with a lovely bit of sweetness. A bit of cream brought out the caramel flavor just a touch more. I couldn't really taste much in the way of chocolate, but despite that, this is a wonderful dessert tea. Soothing and perfect for sipping as an afternoon treat.
I don't always like red rooibos teas. But this was good with cream and sugar. I got the pecan and caramel flavor notes. It would be a lovely after dinner tea...I should have waited :-)
The smell coming off this tea is incredible - rich, nutty, and sweet. After 5 minutes I had a gorgeous deep red tea without any bitterness. I'm not usually a fan of chocolate flavored teas, but I found that chocolate sat in the backseat while caramel and pecan took over. The rooibos makes for an interesting carrier tea, but I don't really notice it with so much else going on - good news for any rooibos-haters out there. Unfortunately, as with some flavored teas, the fragrance is much stronger than the actual taste so it's a teensy bit of a letdown. This tea would be great for anyone looking to cut back on caffeine in a latte-style drink with steamed milk or as an after-dinner treat with some sweetener.
I’m glad this came in my CommuniTea because I was out of rooibos and have been wanting some this week. Rooibos is one of my favorite teas now. You can blend it with basically anything and it never overpowers the other flavors. The flavor seems to come out to me more after a nice dinner or if I have dessert. I’ve tried several, love several and I’ll just add this one to the love column as well.
I tasted pecan and caramel. It was subtle and smelled more sweet than it actually was, which I thought was perfect. It's easy for caramel flavor to overpower, but this definitely did not for me! Going to buy full size soon.
This is sweet, more on the caramel side than the pecan side. I like Nutracker better than this blend, but I would consider putting this into my standard rotation.
It smells like coffee, and has the faintest coffee-like taste with strong notes of caramel. It's quite enjoyable.
I don't like Pecans and I'm not a fan of rooibos. This one is not for me.
I'll be the first to admit my distaste for rooibos; I've never enjoyed a single tea where it's the main ingredient. However, this blend is a shining gem in the crown of Adagio. The fact that I enjoy this one so much astounds me! When I learned the tea would be a rooibos blend (with chocolate, another of my least favorite ingredients) I was certain I wouldn't like it. Oddly enough, I find the flavors of the rooibos actually accent the others nicely. I'm definitely going to be sharing this find with my tea group chat.
This is a chocolate caramel nutty flavor, its really good
Outstanding, our favorite rooibos--very flavorful!
As a fairly determined rooibos hater, I gotta say I'm seriously impressed.
The caramel-chocolate-nut flavoring is SO POTENT I couldn't even smell any rooibos when I opened my CommuniTEA packet. That held true for the brewed tea too, and I picked up only a little rooibos taste.
This tea is still not for me though, since the pecan turtle flavor was about all I could taste, and it felt wrong with the texture of tea. . . . But if pecan turtle sounds like a tea flavor you'd like, I say give this one a try, even if you normally do not enjoy rooibos.
Chocolate caramel nutty goodness.
I can taste the rooibos
It’s a lovely tea. We had snow yesterday and this is just the tea to do nothing but look outside and marvel how clean the earth looks and be grateful that I’m not out there but inside with this delightful tea. I like the Rooibos with the chocolate and the pecan. Lovely. 💗💗💗💗💗
To me this smells and tastes like apple pie to me, not pecan turtle. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but when you're expecting one thing and you taste and smell another, it throws you a bit. Still, a very tasty tea that I would buy. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because to me it neither smells nor tastes like its name suggests.
This tea is delicious, with all the warm nutty notes, and less of the medicinal quality that makes rooibos less appealing to me, I added sweetener and took a couple sips, but what really ended up making it sing was the addition of a small pinch of salt, evoking the flavor of a salted caramel and augmenting the sweetness. I often wonder about salting some of the more savory teas instead of sugaring them, but this is the first time I've dared try it out.
While I wouldn't drink this tea every day, it was enjoyable for this morning, a very Thursday tea.
This was a sweet tea that made me smile from the moment that I opened the packet and smelled the dry tea leaves. Obviously a roobios based on the color and texture of the leaves I was guessing there would be some caramel flavor based on the smell and I was right. This is a lovely tea. I didn't really get chocolate from the smell or taste but I wouldn't mind if it where there or stronger. I know that with loose leaf tea some scoops have more of one ingredient than another. I find that rooibos teas seem to have a natural sweetness to them and this is no exception. The first steeping was better than the second and made a nicely dark brownish red brew. The second was just weaker in flavor and smell which frankly I'd expected due to the components being more herbal than say a black tea. Still okay just weaker. One sweetener packet was fine with my 10oz mug, as normal. I enjoyed this tea and would definitely consider ordering it in the future.
Disclaimer: I dislike red rooibos... a lot. I expected to pitch it after trying it, like I have with every other red rooibos blend that has come through the CommuniTEA. But, when I opened the packet, It actually smelled good and I only got a tiny little hint of that medicinal rooibos smell. And somehow after 7 minutes, the caramel and nutty flavors actually covered up (most) of the rooibos. I didn't taste any chocolate, but I did get caramel, nutty, and woody flavors coming through. I do admit, I still didn't really care for it plain, but it came closer to drinkable than any other rooibos blend I've tried to date. I decided to doctor it up... so, after stirring in a teaspoon of maple cream to sweeten it and a big pour of heavy cream, it became quite delicious. I wouldn't buy it, as there was too much sugar and cream needed to make it good, and there are other 'treat' teas I like better. (reviewed through CommuniTEA; 7 min @ 212)
The toasty pecan is the dominant flavor with undertones of chocolate and caramel. It makes for a well balanced tea that isn't overly sweet.
I have to admit I had a bit of a grumpy reaction when I opened today's CommuniTEA and saw it was uncaffeinated, but I was pleasantly surprised by this! It may not have given me the wake-up I was hoping for in time for my morning meeting, BUT it tastes lovely. This would be a nice bedtime tea.
I LOVE this SWEET TEA! pecan pie is a favorite and this is basically liquid satisfaction of that flavor. I sampled this tea as part of the CommuniTEA December box (AFTER I just placed an order for this EXACT TEA) Satisfaction No Waiting!
The smell of the tea was good, but is not a flavor profile that i prefer.
This pecan rooibos tea may be one of my favorites. With it's pecan dessert aroma and smooth taste, it is delightful. The bonus of no caffeine makes it a treat for any time of the day, with or without sweetening and cream.
The smell of a pecan pie hits my nose as the CommuniTea packet is opened. Ahhh, I love rooibos teas and own almost all of them (even this one). You cannot over steep this, because it never gets bitter. After 5 minutes it is a deep red/orange, and the aroma is honey and woody. The flavor is, wow, pecans and a very subtle chocolate. My tongue tastes all the goodies you find in a good pecan pie -with the caramel appearing at the finish. I like pecan turtle tea! I do! I like it, hope you do, too! I drink it plain, it tastes so good. And add sugar? Yes, I would. I drink it with cream, it is a latte dream. Why not come and drink with me - this rooibos pecan turtle tea! It is so very good, you see! Now I end this tea review- to Adagio Teas, a big thank you! (my apologies to Dr. Suess). (One steep only! 5 mins or whatever, as it really doesn’t matter @212ºF).
