One pearl is sufficient for the little teapot I use. The flavor is both strong and mellow. This has quickly become one of my favorite teas.

I brewed this tea gong fu style, using one pearl for seven infusions of between 15 and 90 seconds each, after briefly rinsing the tea first. The first couple of infusions were slightly bitter, but it mellowed out beautifully for infusions four through six. The addition of a little honey and milk worked particularly well with this tea. I think I prefer the Dante, but this tea feels like a good solid cozy black tea when I want a little bit of that signature pu erh taste.

★★★★★

Steep, and then discard first in fusion, can be used for two to three infusions.

The third and fourth infusions were the best I believe.

The earthiness of this tea is still really strange to me. It isn't bad! It's just very, very different. I think I really prefer the black dragon pearls as far as rolled pearl tea goes so far.

The pu erh pearls are definitely easier to get into than the pu erh dante I've tried before. I like the woodiness of this tea's taste for sure.

Just don't really like the earthy flavor of this tea. Won't buy this again.

Love these. they're a great pu erh and easy enough for a new tea drinker to use. One of my girls loves this tea cold.

★★☆☆☆

After reading about the health benefits of this, I gave it a shot, but not digging the flavor.

★★★★★

Great stuff! It's a toss-up between these and Black Dragon Pearls for my favorite

This was my first introduction to pu erh tea. I was pleasantly surprised. It was not as earthy tasting to me. If you like black teas in general, you may very well like this as well.

★★★★☆

Deep earthy flavor. Not my usual 'go to', but nice for a switch up.

★★★★☆

This is my first try of a pu-erh. It was much tamer than I expected, warm and woody. Smooth with substantial body. There is something hauntingly familiar about the taste, I can't quite figure it out, what keeps coming to mind is a mild sassafras.

★★★★★

Nice earthy tea, I really enjoy the flavor, makes a nice dark tea.

★★★☆☆

More of a novelty, though it was nice to not have to measure out my tea. Just pop into my thermos and off to work I go. I was able to steep it 3ish times.

★★★★★

These pu'erh pearls are - if you'll pardon my terrible pun - a true PEARL of a tea! Not only are they enormously aesthetically and aromatically pleasing, but the taste is absolutely ambrosial! Personally, I'm a fan of strong, smooth, yet rich - even earthy or spicy - teas and these pearls combine all of my preferences into an amazingly delicious brew.

★★★★☆

Good pu erh tea, I especially like the delicate aroma and its beautiful color when it is in my tea cup.

★★★★☆

This tea was my first pu erh tea and was recommended by a friend. This is a warm earthy tea with a lot of body and is very relaxing.

Incredible. The flavor is deep and smokey, a perfectly full flavor. I cannot recommend this tea highly enough.

★★★★★

This is a great pu erh for beginners. It is strong, but not astringent. The second brew is even better, although it seems to increase in fishiness. However, this is not off-putting. Rather it contributed to the overall complexity of the experience. I highly recommend this tea.

My husband likes pu erh, me not so much. But this one is good.
We put 2 balls in a drip coffee maker, makes a while pot. Cannot control the temp.

Nice in the afternoon

★★★★★

Strange but really good. Nice to skip the teaspoon occasionally.

★★★★★

fantastic, earthy, still great on the second and third steeps.

Love watching the pearls open up. Had a nice earthy taste.

The tea smelled GREAT before I steeped it - I was really looking forward to this. When I actually made the tea, though, it smelled and tasted like smoked salmon. I couldn't even finish my cup. I followed the directions on the bag - maybe this just wasn't for me.

★★★★★

I use three pearls to make a thick coffee-mug size tea.

★★★★☆

I was delightfully surprised by the earthy, robust flavor. I put one ball in my thermos and was able to refill the hot water for a total of 3 liters, each one as good as the last. I will definitely add this to my repertoire.

★★★★★

Superb!! Rich, earthy, slightly sweet. Compliments any desert.

★★★★☆

A single pearl is enough for a full plot, plus later steeps. It is very earthy and mellow and dark.

★★★★★

This was my first experience with pu erh, and it was fantastic. The pearls look and smell great, and the tea is smooth with no bitterness and an earthy flavor.

Love it! One of my staples. If do not spend money until you know for sure - get a sample. It sure worth to try!

If you'd like to splurge yourself or your loved ones, or just simply enjoy your day in a calm afternoon, this tea is for you! I would not recommend it if you are in the hurry. This one requires a TIME to understand an appreciate.

The pu erh pearls come in convenient large balls making them easy for commuting. In a rush I can just one drop in my thermos or in my lunch bag to make later at the office. It has a very earthy, twig like taste which was initially a turn off, but has started to grow on me in only a few days.

I think this tea has a 'smooth' taste. It's not bitter, I actually liked more than some of my black teas.

★★★★★

Had for 1st time today and brewed for 5 mins., had no need for any sweetener, just a great taste (smooth, no bitterness at all). Liked so much had to order more...

This is the best pu erh in this store. It is closest to the classical pu erhs. Very convenient is the ball, which is perfect portion to brew one cup.

Re-steep well. Earthy, unique, but not in the least bitter.

Love love puh Teas. Make me feel like I m having a great pick me up afternoon tea! What a boost!!

They're great! They're puerh! But they're not as dark or flavorful as the other puerhs Adagio has, and if you really adore the true fermented earthy darkness of puerh, they aren't as worth your time.

★★★★☆

I've never had pu erh before, so my assessment is far from knowledgeable. That said, I really liked this tea. It had a lot of flavor.

★★★★★

Rich, malty, and full-bodied. Very pretty to watch unfurl! A bit much for a single portion, but perfect for a pot for two.

Strong and dark the way Europeans prefer. This size should be used in a large 2-3 cup steeping vessel(600-800 mL). A tea ball works well. Tannins and flavors abound I a rich bold banquet.

Love the flavor of this tea. I would highly recommend!

★★★★★

First off, I cheated with the water. I place the pu erh pearls in the tea strainer/ infuser and from the water cooler let the hot water pour over it. Since it has to be done slowly, they get quite saturated. After filling thermos I invert it a few times and then swish it a little. It tastes great for relaxing and actually I like in he morning.

★★★★★

I took me a few pu erh teas to find the one. This is it. This one has the subtle notes of earth like you just raked back the leaves in the woods and you can smell that beautiful aroma from the dirt that rises up to hit your nose. It's strong, it's black and it's good.

These are wonderful for making a whole pot of tea. They have a very deep, rich flavor that might be a bit strong for some people. Drinkers of black tea will love this. Also great for putting one in a full size tumbler to sip from all day. Not ideal for single cups though, so make it to share or when you'll be drinking a lot.

delicious way to taste pu erh!! Made for a great morning weak up.

★★★★★

I found this tea a nice wake up in the morning. I did not rinse it before brewing on my first try. I wanted to experience all of it's qualities before reviewing. I was pleasantly surprised to find I enjoyed the earthiness of the 'dust' that is created during fermentation. This is a tea you can pop in your cup and re-steep over and over again. Each steep is a new experience and again, surprisingly, it doesn't weaken until the 5th or 6th steep, also making it economical. I also appreciated that there was no after tang. This is certainly going to be a 'go-to' tea for me :). I rate this as a well rounded excellent!

★★★★★

Love the pu-erh pearls! Very rich, deep flavors, a little smokey and bold, but I love it! Just order the sample and give it a try!

This is a tasty Pu Erh. It has a rather shroomy quality to it. And my friend and I both find the absence of any aftertaste both odd and captivating. I found that about one ball per two cups of water was a good measurement for this tea.

I'll need to pick up more of it sometime.
