This exceptional tea is everything a pu erh is meant to be. It satisfies the desire for an exceptionally dark and tenacious cup without sacrificing the smoothness that is so characteristic of a quality pu erh.
Generously sized for teapot brewing, this extra-large pearl gives the term tea ball new meaning.

Perfect with a little stevia. Has a bright, sweet taste (I taste more berry than hazelnut but it's definitely there) and follows with a gentle aftertaste of earthy pu-erh. I think this will become part of my permanent collection!
Rich, earthy, and intensely smoky. A little goes a long way with these. I highly recommend these for anyone who's looking for a black tea with creamy body and distinctive flavor.
Fantastic tea, smooth and rich. On of the best pu'erh tea I've ever tasted. Thank you, Adagio.com!
This is by far my favorite puerh tea to date. Recently I have really gotten into different types of puerh tea and this one, in my opinion exemplifies what it should taste like. it was very smooth and earthy and the flavor remained strong for several steepings. It also didn't have the funky edge that some puerhs have to them. That in addition to the convenience and aesthetics of the Pearls put this tea right at the top of my list for things to buy again
This is a very intriguing tea. I am far and away a tea noob, so when the package said 1 tsp per cup but I had these huge pearls, I guessed. Made two cups worth for a pearl. It was VERY dark and too strong. So I brewed one pearl for three (6 oz) cups. Much better. Very distinctive. A nice woodsy flair that lingers.
I really enjoyed this. If I've ever had a tea that could be properly described as 'earthy', this is it. I wasn't sure what to expect, as it was my first encounter with pu erh, but I'll be getting it again. A single pearl is the perfect size for my trusty thermos (approximately 16 oz.) and it's the kind of relaxing, mellow flavor that is quite welcome through my work day. I personally feel needs no additional sweetening. I think sweetness would detract from - rather than enhance - those aforementioned natural, earthy notes.
I used one pearl for two large cups of tea. I was able to steep twice. The color of the liquid was VERY dark, and it smelled slightly like mushrooms. and just a bit strong and unpleasant, at first. I soon grew to like it. The flavor is wonderful, very mellow. I use a form of stevia and honey in my tea. I have also made iced tea with Pu Erh Pearls, which works well. It does not turn cloudy, as some black teas do. I will order this tea again!
Compared to the other Pu-erh that I've tried, this was extraordinarily smooth. I'm accustomed to teas aged less than one year, and I think the five years used for this variety is clearly evident by comparison. The brew was very loamy, but extremely smooth. As with all Pu-erh's, I think it is quite love it or leave it, however I think this particular variety is easier to love than many of the more oceanic varieties that seem to be on the market. A strong contender for my favorite Pu-erh to date, I will be ordering more of these, as they are perfect for my activiTEA travel infuser.
I was initially concerned by the size of these pearls, considering past experience. Agitating the infuser a couple of minutes in helped a lot to break things up and get more of the flavor out than would probably happen otherwise, though, and what a flavor that is.
I just... I just don't enjoy it that much. Not for me maybe for you though.
A very mellow and earthy variety of pu erh. Tastes of creamed loam. Truly delicious and relaxing.
Interesting tea to describe. The smell and taste for some reason reminds me of horses which I know isn't that helpful but I know there are people out there who will understand. It tastes good while sipping but the moment you swallow the flavor is gone quickly. I like a tea that lingers on the taste buds a little and this one doesn't linger much at all. The large balls are nice though since I can drop just one in my infuser and don't have to worry about measuring.
