These are lovely to drink and fun to brew. The have a gentle floralness to them and hold up to multiple brews.
Notes of spring flowers mingled with cinnamon spice, a heady richness and lingering floral nuance. Steep these 7-gram leaf "cakes" that come in hand-tied bamboo wrap of 7 individually paper-wrapped cakes for a presentation that is sure to impress.

cute packaging but I was really disappointed with the flavor and I was hoping that the little disc would expand in a interesting way but it mostly just stayed clumped until it slowly broke apart.
These tealeaf cakes are perfect for a nice gongfu session. Brew much/but brew quickly.. and brew many times. If you don’t have a gaiwan… it’s time to give it a try, and this tea is perfect for it. First rinse, dispose of rinse. Wake up those leaves. Smell it.. Then brew 30 seconds. Drink. Brew continually, increasing time if needed. Many sessions and enjoyment to be had.
This was packaged so beautifuly and the taste was supreme. It starts buttery and nutty like a milk oolong and finishes kind of grassy and green. I would definitely get this again and I think it would make a nice gift.
I hope Adagio brings us more tealeaf cake varieties in the future. I love this tea, and so does my spouse and friends. They made great gifts with other teas and are very pretty in a glass teapot, too. I was able to get multiple steepings out of each half of a cake as well.
Really nice tea. Deep smooth flavor, with a delightful presentation. Excellent gift—for tea drinker that likes earthy flavors.
I can see why the teacakes were so good for traveling. The compact cakes open up to a wonderful slightly citrus flavor in a delicate green tea. I got about two good seepings from the cakes and it makes a great iced tea too.
This Oolong is perfect for chilly mornings and the cake makes it easy to use without any mess and tastes great.
Packaging was beautiful. Felt very personal. Flavor is mild and lightly grassy. I brewed with honey.
Simple to brew, and extra smooth. it has a gentle and slightly subtle flavor, and i really enjoyed it in a thermos on a cold day. Will be ordering again
These tea cakes have a nutty, sweet taste so no sweetener is needed. I use half a cake per serving and I get two servings per half. No flavor is lost on the second use. The best part is watching the leaves unfold while steeping.
very good tea discs. earthy and almost sweet pastry taste. make sure not to over steep or the flavor isnt quite right
I was eager to try this one, but was ultimately disappointed. I brewed the leaves twice and the flavor was weak and lacking depth both times.
I used 1/3 of a cake to try to get the most out of what I got. Good tea
Not a bad tea but it's not enough for me to buy it again
While these aren’t necessarily the best tasting oolong I’ve ever had, they are absolutely beautiful in their presentation. Wrapped so uniquely and beautifully that it was hard to want to open them at all. And while expensive for the amount you get, you get SEVERAL brews out of one puck. I’m on my fourth brew and it’s just as flavorful. I dare say I may get a fifth brew. So that’s where it makes them worth the price. Watch your temps and times though. These can get bitter fast. Sweetener helps but I really prefer these without so just watch your brew closely.
This is a fun tea I very much enjoyed. Good for gongfu or half a cake for gpa. The balance between the oolong and young raw Puer is really nice. Easy to oversteep, so I’d stick with quick steeps!
These were fantastic! And I thought I’d really not like that as I am not really a fan of most green/oolong teas. Not this one! And the package is so beautiful!
Hmm gong fu brewed and disappointed with the flavor. Weak and a bit of bitterness came through as well. Love Adagio teas but this one is definitely not my cu of tea.
Oolong? Not sure. Raw pu’erh labeled as a green oolong? Likely.
Cool concept and packaging but this was like ordering champagne and getting ginger ale.
I used one cake in a gaiwan. (Cake weight was 6.3 g and I usually use about 5g.)
Grassy, tiny bit bitter, and stone fruit after taste. Not sure if I’m getting peach or apricot and maybe a tiny bit of apple.
On steep 4 and it’s still going strong.
I am bad about over-steeping tea, and this tea gets really bitter really quick if you steep for more than two minutes. That being said, it was worth having for traveling purposes (minimized the amount of stuff I had to bring while on the road) and I would buy it again for that purpose.
The taste was very bitter to me. I have tried it on a few separate occasions, trying to steep it less, trying to use cooler water than recommended after the first time, but it hasn't made it any better for me.
I wasn't a fan of how much wrapping was involved with these. It makes it look interesting, but then adagio also wraps them and then puts them in one of their bags.
This is about the size of a vanilla wafer and 1/2 makes a nice quart of iced tea. Worth trying again and would be great for travel.
Okay, so the tealeaf cakes are a little wasted in my VelociTEA where I can't see the tea unfold, but it's still a very delicious oolong.
This is probably the worst tea I've gotten from Adagio. Very bitter and without much flavor, it reminds me of something you'd taste out of a Lipton tea bag. I figured with how cheap this one is, your money was probably going to the fancy packaging rather than the tea quality, and that is most certainly the case.
Smooth, fresh, and lite; this a great Oolong cake for people to learn gong-fu style with. Floral notes with a hint of grassiness make this an excellent oolong. Each steep brings new flavors to the front and is a joy to sip!
Novel wafer shape, unfolds slowly while steeping. It has a pleasant vegetal flavor, but don't let it get cold.
These were presented beautifully. I found the flavor to be too mild and a touch bitter for me. I steeped a second time with cooler water (180) and that removed the bitterness, but the flavor was still 'lacking' in my opinion. I added a splash of cream and sugar which helped. I drank the entire cup, but wasn't impressed. I was expecting the flavor to live up to the presentation.
The gift of tea, begins with unwrapping the dark green pressed tea cake from multiple layers and then watching the leaves unfurl in hot water. The oolong has a lightly roasted, green tea flavor that pairs well with a bit of Tupelo honey, for a soft, mild cup. This is the gift that keeps on giving as it can be re-steeped. 1 cake easily makes 4 cups on the initial steep.
Grassy smooth green tea in pretty packaging and fun concept. Tastes more like a green tea than an oolong.
