For whatever reason, this tastes to me like the essence of what tea should be. It may become my lifelong favorite. I find it extremely comforting in the morning. it does not have a distinctly grapefruit taste. It tastes more like a slightly citrus note and a slightly smoky note to just the best underlying tea ever.
An interesting note on storing this tea: I have the Adagio tea 4 oz metal tins with a plastic top. I've been storing the grapefruit oolong in one for over a year. The inside of the plastic top is no longer smooth, but is now etched into a pebbly pattern. This has not happened to any of the other tins with other flavors of tea. Apparently this tea has real citric acid in it that etches the plastic.
My 17 year old adored it. I've had better. This isn't a problem with the tea, just my own taste preference.
Love this oolong - light and fresh with a snap of grapefruit aroma to just breathe in and wake yourself up with.

Smells very strongly of grapefruit when you open the bag but once brewed it has a far more mild taste.

Oh this is soooo good. You can definitely taste the grapefruit but there is a nice balance between it and the oolong. It is a very spirited morning cuppa. My husband and I both love it and it's a new favorite. I definitely will order it again.

I read the reviews left by others before I decide to try a tea that is new to me. This Grapefruit Oolong is one amazing tea; it has a true grapefruit flavor while also letting the Oolong tea come through. I'm enjoying a second steep as I write this, love the flavors; one of my new favorites!!!

Not a fan of grapefruit but I like this tea. It s not as bitter to me as the fruit so nice when I want something a little bit different.
This one never lasts long! It has a subtly tart hint of citrus and a great oolong kick.
This is an excellent, albeit a surprising tea. The tea smells sharply of grapefruit, but when brewed, the grapefruit taste forms more of a base and is a lot more subtle. Overall, I like the taste of this tea, but if you like strong oolong taste, that's not there. It tastes more like an excellent, fruity tea.

If this tea only tasted like it smells I would buy it by the pound!! The smell before brewing is Wonderful, like a fresh grapefruit. After brewing that all went away, so disappointing. Basically just tasting the tea, which is good, but with no grapefruit flavor

I never would have drank a grapefruit flavored tea but then I tried the grapefruit oolong and loved it! Try not to steep this oolong too long, I find that more than 3 minutes makes it heavily astringent.
I tried this because i was curious, honestly did not this I would like it, however i was pleasantly surprised! The grapefruit is not overpowering and compliments the oolong. Very happy I tried it!
So fruity and flavorful! While I've just had it hot, this would be delicious iced as well. Overall, I don't often like fruit teas, but this is one I could add to my repertoire whenever I get the craving.
It's my favorite Adagio oolong. Slight grapefruit flavor, slight dryness, not sour. I'm a grapefruit nut so this is perfect for me. Highly aromatic, I love the strong grapefruit smell when you open the bag. With Gongfu brewing, can re-steep many times. It's delicious after every steep, the 2nd or 3rd being the best for me as the grapefruit flavor becomes more pronounced. Highly recommended if you like grapefruit. It's just right, well balanced.

This tea has a wonderful grapefruit flavor and I often enjoy it after dinner as a dessert tea. Very smooth and flavorful.

I enjoy the white grapefruit but this grapefruit oolong is terrible. Just awful. Bitter and leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Tried it a second time, which will be the last time. This is NOT grapefruit. The ingredients on the bag are: 'oolong tea, natural orange flavor, orange peels'. Surprise...this does NOT taste like grapefruit. Misleading and I wasted my money.
