Dancong Aria Customer Reviews

A rare tea from Phoenix Mountain in Guangdong province, China. Perfumy, orchid, and almond. Smooth and refined texture with flavors of fresh apricot, peach pit, and honey. Incredibly long finish. This is a tea to take your time with!

I really loved this tea until I tasted ti kuan yin. The latter has replaced it as my favorite oolong.

★★★★★

This tea is so refreshing. I had a sample for a while and finally tried it only to discover it is being discontinued soon. I will buy what I can while I can. Add a touch of earl grey lavender or moonlight and it mixes so well together. Also make an amazing iced tea!

★★★★☆

Slightly flowery, but a little lacking in flavor.

★★★★★

One of my favorites. So many complex flavors hit all at once, then slowly dissipate to let you experience them one by one.

★★★★☆

Mellow oolong. You can steep it several times and still get flavor.

★★★★★

Great tea. Love the flavor. Easily brews up to 3-4 times.

★★★★★

A very mild, subtly tea that steps perfectly in a gaiwan.

I brew herbal teas frequently and use Jiaogulan daily. To my surprise, this tasted identical to that. I drink Jiaogulan for the health properties, NOT the flavor so was a bit disappointed. Very vegetal, very strong and just not a tea I can get behind...

★★★★★

i liked this tea, i use it for cold brew tea often

★★★★☆

i haven t tried this hot yet and i ll update when i do but sadly this wasn t as nice as it sounded brewed cold

★★★☆☆

It's a very middle of the road tea. It's dark and strong but not astringent. It would be a good choice for someone who likes to sweeten their tea. Not for me.

★★★☆☆

Enjoyed tea very much . Has light fruit flavor . I will definitely buy again

★★★☆☆

Unfortunately this one was not for me. I played with the brewing times, but no matter how long I brewed it came out bitter. It tasted like bitter flowers. Not good. Then again, judging from other Dancongs I have tried since, maybe I just don't like Dancong, as none of the various ones I have tried have pleased me. So this is likely not a bad tea in general, just not for me.

★★★★★

Beautiful, well-balanced dancong that lends itself well to gaiwan brewing of multiple infusions. Will probably buy a bigger bag next time.

★★★★★

The aftertaste in my mouth after taking a sip of this tea is very relaxing/refreshing. I accidentally brewed it with overly hot water on my first brew and didn't taste the fruity flavor. However, once the tea cooled off it was like drinking a completely different tea; fruity, light, with a nice depth of flavor all in one. Definitely getting more.

Best oolong tea on adagio. Great for the afternoon

★★★★★

I had this together with a friend, and while we agreed that it was not as floral as some of the reviews implied, it was still a lovely, floral oolong. It just doesn't literally taste flavored!

★★★☆☆

Well on its own without any additives, however, I didn t get any of the flavors that others have described.

★★★☆☆

Not one of my favorites, honestly, but still very drinkable.

★★★★☆

They're not kidding when they say not to over steep it. I accidentally used boiling water and steeped it too long the first time -- bitter city. Cooler water and shorter steeping did the trick, and the flavor really came through without bitterness.

I bought this for my friend and she loves this tea

very smooth taste; good tea, nice colour like it for lunch.

This is a wonderful full bodied oolong tea with a great woody aroma. I found it to be nutty and malty with a smooth finish. Oolong teas are my favorite and this one I will keep on hand.

★★★☆☆

Not my style I guess. It is probably great for some people, but I don't think I am into this type. I couldn't taste anything floral or fruity about it.

★★★★☆

Complex taste of peach, and nuts. Nutty undertones are not my taste, especially in iced teas, but I can see this being better as a hot tea.

NOTE: I am an iced tea drinker. My reviews are based off of brewing/steeping accordingly, adding sugar or honey, then pouring over ice. ”

★★★★★

I really enjoy this tea! Its less intense compared to Pureh Dante which is the other earthy tea I tried before this, but it is very satisfying and calming earthiness. Not bitter at all. Definitely would re-purchase.

★★★★★

Tastes like Chinese Resturant tea but better. Brewing cold ellicits smoother flavor.

★★★★★

I hadn't tried oolong tea before, but this was great. It was almost fruity and very smooth.

★★★☆☆

i was curious about this blend, but am not completely sold on it.

★★★★★

A classic Phoenix Mountain Oolong. Strong peach pit note- it makes one realize that they know what a peach pit tastes like. This tea is great as a cold brewed iced tea.

★★★★☆

It's very dark, rich and quite bold. Prepared it gongfu, the first couple of infusions had slight bitter notes. I liked the 3rd and 4th infusion the best. Apricot, peach notes came out singing on those infusions. Long lasting dry finish.

I have been trying new oolongs instead of my favorite black tea. Love this and will be ordering more

★★★★★

very unique flavor to me. orchard is a good way to describe as i saw in another review. sweet on its own

★★★★☆

A nice, smooth oolong but it's definitely closer to a black tea than what I typically prefer but still enjoyable. I found the second steeping to be more enjoyable personally but it's a drier tea.

★★★☆☆

Gongfu style brew. The tea has a wonderful aroma. One sniff from it sends a sweet and fruity blast. I can taste notes of fruits of apricot and maybe sweet apple with a balance of nutty and woodsy notes. However, you have to be very careful with the amount water and temperature use because it's temperamental. Otherwise it can get bitter quickly. If you use a copious amount of water and a sampling of tea leaves, then I think you'll be okay.

A delicious tea! One of my favorites! It has a great light flavor.

★★★☆☆

Is a pretty good tea, a bit coffee tasting for me, and there isn't one flavor that wows me

★★★★☆

The flavor of this tea was very nice, if subtle. But the leaves are too big to fit comfortably in my infuser making it a little difficult to prepare.

★★★★☆

Dancong aria is lightly fruit/floral flavoured with earthy undertones and a very smooth, long lasting finish. It does have a gorgeous mouth feel and brews up well a second time.

great oolong variety that I enjoy with a bit of sweeter

★★☆☆☆

Much weaker than I expected. It s a nice quality of tea but not for me. I definitely like strong tea.

★★★★★

I really love this tea. It's a more mellow flavor than the blacks that I usually drink. The fruit flavor is mellow, a little earthy, floral and sweet.

I m a huge peach/apricot flavor and sweeten my tea with honey, so was very excited to try this. It was good, but not what I would say my all time favorite. But fruity, rich but still light.

This is the first tea that made my senses go WOW at the scent of the beautifully-twisted dry leaves - a rich, juicy, dark plum, with hints of vanilla and chocolate! My 1st try, brewed for 5 min @212 (per pkg instructions) tasted NOTHING like that. Nothing of the fresh apricot, peach pit and honey or perfumy aroma of orchids and almonds as noted in the package description. To my disappointment, it turned out quite mineral, very earthy and slightly vegetal. My 2nd try, brewed for 5 min @175 was a milder version of the same, so I added sweetener and milk, which brought out those apricot, peach pit, honey, almond notes - and a touch of vanilla. Faint mineral notes remained in the background. This complex oolong is not one of my favorites, but still quite good. I just wish the package description was accurate!

★★★★★

This is my favorite oolong and I can get multiple steepings.

★★★★☆

It tastes like spinach. Not in a bad way? I like spinach after all! But yup, definitly spinach flavored. Definitely a more savory tea, very rich and earthy, and the finish is just as long as the description said. Personally, I prefer my oolong more delicate and floral, so I won't be ordering this one again, but I can appreciate the complexity and mineral taste of it.

Great peach pit and floral attributes. 3 infusions should be expected starting at 180 degrees for the first to 212 by the third

Beautiful color and mouthfeel. Perfect balance of sweetness and a sort of roasty fruit and floral taste.

Found this particular tea interesting but not bad.
