I love the yummy berry flavor. The sage is not overpowering at all. This is one of my favorites that Adagio offers.
Bold, earthy flavors of berries and herbs; a grounding tea with a complex character.

I love the yummy berry flavor. The sage is not overpowering at all. This is one of my favorites that Adagio offers.
Never thought about putting sage in a tea, but the it is a sweet and earthy surprise.
This is my new favorite tea. So balanced! Fruit forward.
I love this tea. It has a great flavor profile and is a really nice morning or afternoon tea.
The blueberry flavor is easy to detect and tastes great. I love the herby sage. Sometimes I wish that was stronger I may try adding some rubbed sage to my next cup
My favorite oolong. it’s delicious 😁 just the right amount of fruitiness
Lovely tea. Fruit flavor blends perfectly with the oolong, not over powering at all.
A nice balance of herbal and light fruit. Great earthiness to it.
The oolong is more on the toasted side, and pairs nicely with the earthy tones from the sage and the hint of fresh berries that isn’t overwhelming or too sweet. The mouthfeel is very pleasant, and is a very tasty cup.
One of my favorite teas! Blackberry and sage is an excellent and unexpected pairing. So delicious!
I found these flavors to be a bit confusing. The blackberry is very tangy and the rest is quite earthy - the combination didn't really work for me
The tea smelled wonderful when I opened the bag. However something was strange in the taste. I drank the cup but won’t be repeating it.
I mostly noted sage both when I opened the CommuniTEA packet and when I drank the first cup I steeped while it was hot. As it cooled the sage was a little less prevalent but I did not get much berry taste, even after adding Monkfruit sweetener. The second and third steeps were just less strong versions of the first. All three done at 190 degrees for 3 min.
This is one of my favorites. It's savory and reminds me of walking through a forest and going berry picking. However I can see this not being appealing to everyone because of the sage.
I received this in the communiTEA box. I was excited to see it in the box because I wanted to try it. It smelled good upon opening and brewing. Unfortunately, it tasted like dirt (earthy) and berries to me.
This is one of my favorites. The berry is more pronounced than the sage, it's a really nice sweet and savory or earthy blend. It's smooth and I can't get enough of this flavor!
Brewed at 190F for 4 minutes with rock sugar added
While in the midst of brewing and letting the final product cool, I completely forgot that sage is a big part of this blend. Upon sipping, I had a split second of 'oh, nice fruit'. and then the sage smacked me like a semi. I tried to give this tea a fair shot, but I just can't take the sage flavor being in there. It is very alarming to my taste buds and makes me want to abort mission. Definitely a no from me.
This is the first time I've had sage in a tea, and I'm surprised how well it works. I'm also happy to note a definite berry flavor, rather than just generic fruity flavor.
I seem to get a lot more sage than others (maybe the balance in my packet was off). I think I’d love this if it were better balanced, but as it is I like it.
MY CommuniTEA packet was quite full so I was able to try this twice which was good because the first one was over steeped. Once I got a proper steep on this, it was a very lovely tea, the sage was at the forefront and first but then the berries came in to play.
I've had this tea many times over. I prefer to brew it 4 minutes and with breakfast, preferably something fruity. My Aunt prefers it iced with a fruity snack, so I want to call it more of a dessert type tea. Its not too sweet or tart if you steep it around 4 minutes. You have to be very careful not to over do it.
The Blackberry Sage Oolong has earned a 5/5 in my rating of teas! I love the balance of sweet blackberry with herby sage. A little honey coaxes out even more blackberry flavor. The Oolong provides a smooth full-bodied base, and stands up to multiple infusions. I steeped four flavorful cups out of my CommuniTEA packet (190F x 3 min each). I think it would be phenomenal as an iced tea, but I didn't try it today because I was enjoying the hot tea so much. Already on my wish list for my next Adagio purchase.
The sage makes this a rather unusual tasting tea. As with most oolong teas, the oolong provides an excellent base. The sage and blackberry flavors mix well together with the sage dominating the mix.
The CommuniTEA packet smelled strongly and wonderfully of blackberry. I therefore expected more of a berry flavor but there was too much sage for my liking. It’s an interesting combination and I wanted to love it, but ultimately I only liked it.
My CommuniTEA packet had a generous 2 teaspoons today so I steeped just 1 with water just below boiling. My first few sips I could only taste what I assume is the sage. It was savory but still pleasant. It was less strong as it cooled to room temperature. The resteep had a slight whisper of berry at room temperature but the sage was still quite strong. Iced, it wasn't much better. Maybe my packet was missing some elements, but overall this isn't for me.
As soon as I opened the pouch, I smelled berries. That was lovely. I brewed at a lower temp for less than 3 minutes and added sugar. The result was delicious. I had it hot but I bet its even better iced.
I was surprised how much I enjoyed this tea when I opened my communitea packet. It smelled amazing, and was very smooth without being overpowering with berries. A slightly sweet black tea with the hint of fruity flavor makes this quite enjoyable.
Love love love this tea! Blackberry is one of my favorite flavors anyway, but the sage just adds something unexpectedly refreshing and wonderful. ❤️ The dry leaves smell heavenly and herbally, and the brewed tea has both blackberry and sage in equal proportions - neither seems to overwhelm the other. I was able to get a solid two steeps out of this. The first cup I had hot, and that was great. The second I let cool, and it was great as well! Oolong isn't as robust as Ceylon, but I really think it's delicate nature is better with this flavor than a bolder black would be.
I'm so glad to see this in the CommuniTEA as I've been dying to try it! At first, I was thrown off by the aroma - sweet berry and musty sage didn't smell like a good combination.
After steeping, the flavor is much better than the smell. It's complex and hovers around the border between sweet and savory. Berry and sage complement each other surprisingly well, with the gentle oolong in the background. It's kind of difficult to describe this tea, but I can say that I'd hate it if I didn't already enjoy sage. It's a unique flavor and takes a little getting used to, but well worth it.
I added some sugar to a second steep which was just as good as the first, maybe a touch more sage heavy. I think I'll buy a bag of this in the warmer months as I can tell it'd be an amazing iced tea!
Very unique! I've been wanting to try a sage-infused tea, and this gave me the opportunity. Upon opening the packet, my nose was tickled with the strong aroma of blackberries with the earthy aromas of the oolong and sage. Sadly, after brewing the berry flavors all but dropped out leaving the sage to carry the show. I feel there needs to be a better balance between the berries and sage, otherwise, this is pretty good for a very unique tea.
I steeped this at about 200 for only 3 mins. In the past I've found a higher temp and or longer; makes berry blends too bitter. This was a truly delicious blend, very perfect with some oat milk!
As surprising as the ingredients might seem, this is a wonderful tea. It smells like sweet berries and brews with fruity flavors in the foreground and sage in the background. Reminiscent of a sweet berry syrup, the sage is not overwhelming, but provides a richness that supports the natural sweetness of the tea. The raspberry and blackberry tastes are deep and natural, with none of the artificial medicinal flavorings that can accompany some herbal berry teas. A rebrew was a bit more sage-prominent, but still refreshing and enjoyable. This makes an excellent iced tea and an even better infusion cold-brewed in a cup of water - so refreshing! I don't taste much oolong in this tea, but it must be in the background because this tea comes through as less overwhelming and with more depth than a pure sage herbal tea. This is definitely a tea that I want to drink again and again.
I was so excited to see today's CommuniTea ingredients, I had gotten this as a sample and find it to be a beautiful iced tea, the sage and berries come through nicely with a spoon of sugar or honey for an added sweetness.
This was very good. I didn't notice any of the ingredients, such as sage, taking dominance in the scent or taste of the tea. It was well balanced and smooth. Brewed at 200 degrees F for 4 minutes.
This tea tantalizes both the tastebuds as well as the nose with a wonderful herby blend that is refreshing and comforting at the same time. I brewed this up at 200 degrees for 3 minutes, and was very happy with the balance of taste that I am getting. The sage is at the front of the sip, making itself known but at the end, the fruit comes out and lingers for a bit on the palette. I think the play of savoury and sweet is so wonderful and balanced- this is a tea for anytime, anywhere! I can also imagine this one would also be very refreshing as an iced version but I am loving it hot and as it cools it is also lovely. I know oolongs take well to multiple steeps, so although I usually stop at the first cup, this one will have me resteeping it to enjoy it again. This tea is a bit unusual in its herby/sagey- ness, but such a pleasure to drink, this will definitely get its own place in my tea cupboard.
Oh, this was lovely! Not too tart, but not too bland; I could definitely smell the blackberry and the flavor was softer but still definitely there. This was a really pleasant surprise since a lot of berry teas are too tart for my taste. Definitely one for the wishlist!
As I opened my packet, the smell of blackberry and sage was definitely present. Steeped at 200 for 4 minutes, the resulting tea was light, as was the scent of both the blackberry and sage. Neither of the two flavors seemed to want to take the lead for me. This was going to take a full on experimentation! Adding just sugar, resulted in just a sweet tea taste. The starring duo still refused to make their taste known, although the blackberry seems to be trying to get over its stage fright and sneak out. Adding a touch of cream seems to bring out a hint of the reluctant costar sage. For my second cup, I went straight. Because the tea had cooled just a bit, my tea finally came alive, and both blackberry and sage was enjoyed! I’ve chilled the remaining brew, and hope that with some cooling the tea finally becomes all it promises! But all in all, I think this one is a pass for me.
I got a strong smell of sage and raspberries from opening the CommuniTea package today. I took the advice of others and steeped at a lower temperature (195 F for 3 min) and it turned out great. Its a nice oolong with a strong blackberry and raspberry taste. The sage works really well with the tea too.
Jammy flavors from the blackberry and raspberry came through, as did the sage. I found it to be sweet enough on its own to not need sugar or honey.
Hearty, earthy, fruity, layered. This tea is perfect for days when you're feeling a little wistful and want to go live in a cottage in the woods and be like the good witch who picks mushrooms. It's got that vibe to it. Takes sweetener well, probably would take a slosh of milk too. I'm going to buy this tea for myself at some point.
I never had this oolong before today's CommuniTea sample, but i have to say it was pretty good. Normally i don't like berry flavored teas (or i'm very selective) but this was worth a try.
Part of the January 2021 CommuniTEA box. When I saw sage paired with the sweet berries on the ingredients list, I knew I was in for a treat. It’s very mild to start, but has a strong herbal aftertaste. This really wakes up and resets the senses!
I love this tea. I've gotten this tea before and I loved it. The sage is so nice while warm with the undercurrent of dark sweetness. When cold, the berry is so strong, the sage leaving a smokiness in the back. 195 for 3 minutes
Sweet, yet savory. How on earth does sage work so well in this? It's so good!
I really like this tea. I think the sage and blackberry go very well together. The sage gives it a very strong herb flavor while the blackberry is there but more as a back up flavor. It doesn't come through with a juicy fruit taste. I didn't think I would like the sage but I really do.
Love this one! I found it to have a very strong sage scent, but the flavor was more balanced between the sage, blackberry, and oolong tea. Adagio recommends 3-5 min at 212; I’d recommend keeping it closer to 3 min and/or using a slightly lower temp.
Got this on a whim expecting it not to be great. LOVE it. Somehow it just all works together.
The first scent from my CommuniTea packet was a strong berry scent. I had a good mix of oolong, sage, & raspberry leaves, if just a lil light on the raspberries themselves.
Once steeped the sage took over and became the most prominent scent. A good scent in my opinion, strong and herbal. It's also all I could taste when the tea was still at it's hottest.
The more it cooled the more the berry flavors come to the front. The sage flavor didn't go away, but it mingled with the berry, a very pleasing blend.
On the second steep the berry flavors were the more prominent, even when hot.
For a third steep, the berry flavor drops out almost completely and I'm back with just a sage oolong. The sage is not as strong as the first steep of course, & it's still a nice enough cup if you're one for herbal flavors.
Steeped (1) 190F 4min, (2) 200F 4min, (3) 200F 4min
I am shocked at hoe much I loved this tea, both because I don't generally care for flavored black teas and I also oversteeped it. However, there was a really pleasant cool sage flavor with a nice berry hint. The more I drank, the more the berry came through. Based on other reviews, the oversteeping may have made the sage stronger, which was more than fine with me. 7 min (whoops) at 200 degrees with a small amount of sugar.
In the package this tea smells delicious, like sweet fresh blackberries and raspberries. While steeping more herbal earthy notes from the sage came through in the aroma, reminiscent of a forest or garden. I steeped for about 4 minutes with water just under boiling temp, and ended up with a light clear amber color. With nothing added, I can taste mainly a crispness from the sage and a roasted oolong base. In the finish there is a hint of fruity sweetness from the berries but it is subtle. I tried adding a little agave to enhance the blackberry flavor, but I feel like it just ended up making the sage even more prominent. This is one that grew on me as I sipped it and I enjoyed finishing my cup, but I’m not sure that I would purchase regularly for myself as I found the sage to overwhelm all the other flavors. It may be one to experiment with brewing at different temperatures/steep times.
