I thought it smelled very strongly of almonds in the packet, but it was not very strong after being steeped. I found this tea a little unmemorable.
Savory almond with Taiwan oolong tea. Smooth, nutty aroma, full and rounded body, sweet marzipan flavor.

I thought it smelled very strongly of almonds in the packet, but it was not very strong after being steeped. I found this tea a little unmemorable.
I love flavored oolongs! The almond in this one isn’t overpowering, but the oolong tea isn’t overpowering either.
almond smell overwhelming right when you open the bag, so be warned, you better like almonds. Almonds are just okay for me, but if you like em give this a try. It was nice with some honey and cream; like others have said kind of a marzipan flavor. I sampled this Tea as part of the CommuniTEA October box.
What a yummy almond flavor! I like almond just about anything.
A very light colored tea with a hint of almond..has a slight bitter taste..better with a little sweetener.
Very strong amaretto flavor, Quite good but can be overwhelming. Not a good everyday drinker for me but a good dessert tea.
This is delicious plain. With a little sweetener it tastes like an almond crossoint. With sweetener and vanilla almond milk like an almond torte pastry. Yum!
This tea is nice and light with a nice nuttiness.
Always a fan of oolong and the almond was a nice touch. Would be nice if there was some actual toasted almonds instead of just extract. (3 min @ 100C)
This smelled and tasted incredible! I wasn't sure if I would like this on its own even though I've liked it in signature blends. I'm not normally a big fan of almond flavors because they usually taste artificial but this was really delicious.
These two tastes did not go together for me. But, I am also not a fan of marzipan, so maybe that explains it. Though, I don't have a problem with almond flavor and I do like oolong, they didn't blend right at all in my mouth. It was a little more palatable when it cooled down, but if I was offered it, I would turn it down. Even if I was really thirsty and that was the only thing to drink.
Not really a fan of nut-flavored teas, even with sweetener it tastes bland.
This tastes like a less sweet marzipan (with a splash of almond milk, to double up on the theme). I’m in love. If I hadn’t just gotten a new shipment of tea today I’d be ordering more!
Yummy!!! I think it’s great. My favorite oolong is vanilla, but this is definitely up in the top 3.
It’s a good tea. I personally wouldn’t buy it for myself, but it is a nice tea. Plain you get a good amount of the almond flavor and nuttiness. With a little honey or other sweetener it becomes an almond pastry type flavor.
Oolong and almond. <shrug>. Not a lot of depth. Fine for what it is but don’t expect greatness.
This tea finished up a free week I received with my first order. It's a great idea and I might subscribe in the future. I tried this tea soon after yesterday's pumpkin spice so, no surprise, it tasted a little flat. I generally like oolong so it must have been the influence of the spice!
Strong sweet, chai spiced smell with just a hint of pumpkin. Tastes like fall in a cup. Delicious!
The almond smell was very strong when I opened the bag and very smooth in the cup. My husband's family loves marzipan and he liked this tea without sugar. I thought a little sweetener gave it just the boost it needed.
Mild, tastes like both almonds and almond extract.
Nice, rainy day, read a book tea.
This tea smells like almond paste and tastes like a pastry once brewed. I love this for a dessert tea. I added milk and a tiny bit of sugar.
This is one of my favorite teas. The almond is not overpowering, but strong enough to be tasted. A bit of sugar really enhances the flavor. It is good hot, but absolutely DELICIOUS iced. It tastes like a non alcoholic amaretto! It’s the perfect late summer afternoon drink!
Such an excellent flavored oolong. The oolong taste isn't too terribly pronounced, but it holds up well with the almond flavoring. It also blends really well with other flavors, like chai and vanilla, even chocolate--super versatile.
Yum! What a nice autumn treat! I loved the aroma, both in the bag and also after brewing...delicious and a little decadent!
Very nice light almond flavor...not too strong and very natural tasting. Tastes like almond cookies with a little vanilla milk added.
The aroma coming off of this was incredible from the second that I opened the pouch! I love almond cookies, and this smells just like one! I love a good cookie type tea, so I tasted this black and then went and added a bit of sugar to really amp up the sugary sweetness. It’s just like a sweet almond cookie and now I’m craving them!
I'm traditionally not into dark teas, blacks I hate and this tea is a very dark oolong. I'm also not partial to nutty teas, but this one isn't that bad. It reminds me of the hello dollies my mom would make. Slightest bit sweet with some woody nuts
I wasn't sure I would like this one when I smelled the CommuniTEA packet, but it was actually very good! It has a nice, dessert-like flavor, and it is great with brown sugar.
Everyone raves about this so I was excited to try it. Definitely a great tea to have on hand.
I like Oolong tea, so the added almond flavor was very pleasant. I added sugar, and maybe a little too much sugar, as I did not get a nutty taste in the sense of eating a handful of nuts. Rather, I got more of an almond pastry. This would pair nicely with an almond croissant, making for a lovely light morning treat.
Opening the package, I got a strong scent that was not quite true almond, a little sweeter, like almond cake. Brewed, it has a good oolong flavor with a hint of nuttiness, and honey helps the flavor smooth out. It’s an ok tea, not one I would personally buy though.
I like the combo of the oolong with the almond. There are a lot of oolong's that just hit me wrong, but this one is smooth and tasty.
Reviewed as part of the communiTEA. What a lovely flavor. Such a sweet taste.
Part of the October 2020 CommuniTEA box. I couldn’t decide how I felt about this tea - it has an airy quality that I associate with almonds, and usually I don’t care for it.
I was worried that it would be a heavy almond flavor but it was very subtle. I added a little of the rock sugar and a splash of milk 3 min @ 212 degrees
I like this a lot, but not sure I'd buy it by itself. Great in blends; there were a few CommuniTea blends that featured this and it worked well with chocolate and chai, making it taste like cake. Basically tastes like tea + almond extract. Wouldn’t drink by itself but would definitely use it for blends!
I originally tried this tea in the Oolong sampler, but my review is based on the packet I got through the communiTEA. As many others have noted, the almond flavoring in this tea is a 'marzipan' type rather than a 'roasted' type - it's fragrant and almost floral rather than nutty. I usually steep oxidized Camellia sinensis low and short, but in this case, to maximize the natural flavoring, I extended the brew somewhat. My partner is the nut fanatic of the two of us, so the first cup went to him, while I took a second steep for myself. Both were excellent, although his was a bit stronger than mine. This is a likely purchase in the future. (5 mins @ 195 F, no sweetener or cream for him/2 drops EZ-Sweetz for me)
The smooth almond flavor was enhanced by a dollop of honey. This could be a great dessert tea.
This tea has a nice strong almond flavor. Adding a touch of sweetness really make it indulgent.
Smell was strong as heck when I opened the packet. I love the almond taste, for some reason it reminds me of cookies.
I love black teas and this had a black tea feel but light and nuttier. Nice smooth flavor
The dry tea smell was hoo boy STRONG. Based on that, I didn't think I'd like it. Steeped with some sweet cream creamer it definitely tastes like almonds, but oddly enough in a different way to me, than say spritz cookies do. I've always loved the smell of almond extract which is what spritz cookies remind me of and while this is almond it's definitely not that. I do have a sample of this tea so I look forward to tasting it again!
This tea had light sweet almond taste that improved with a bit of sugar. I also felt it benefited from over steeping to improve the flavor.
I enjoyed this tea! The almond accented it well. It tasted almost of roasted barley
Dry in the packet, the tea smelled strongly of marzipan or frangipane, not at all a toasted almond flavor. Once brewed, the oolong was the strong flavor, with the almond playing more of a supporting role in the background. I liked this tea best warm, with honey. This one is nice enough, but I wouldn't order it. My preference is more for a toasted nuttiness in my tea (like in mocha nut mate), but I would definitely recommend this to marzipan or amaretto lovers and could see it being good in blends. Tried through CommuniTEA, plus with the Orchard Oolongs sampler.
If you like amaretto, this is the tea you’re looking for. Like a non-alcoholic version of Disaronno, that good almond flavor is very strong.
This was *way* better than I expected. It s nice and floral, kinda like an almond tea cake.
This is such a smooth tasting tea. The almond smell is strong, so I was worried but the almond taste is subtle and absolutely perfect. This is the perfect early autumn morning tea.
This was delicious! The flavor of the almond and oolong go well together. It was good hot and iced.
This is my favorite almond tea, it is a nice marzipan almond flavor that is so smooth on top of the oolong.
