A favorite go-to with light but rich soothing notes. A most delightful tea, until I realize I failed to order more.
Green oolong tea from Ali Shan, one of Taiwan's most famous tea growing areas. Beautiful high mountain oolongs come from its misty peaks. Warm sugar and deeply layered floral aromas, with a melting, creamy mouthfeel. Mellow and light-bodied.

Pretty nice oolong, delicate floral profile with nice green notes.
Great tea, tastes very good will buy again, brews nicely
Absolutely love this tea great sweetness and mouth feel it is an amazing tea will buy more
This is a very smooth and flavorful tea. I have bought it a few times now and keep enjoying it. I plan to buy more
Ali Shan tea is one of those oolongs that instantly stands out. It has a smooth, buttery texture with a natural sweetness and a light floral aroma that feels almost creamy. The leaves open beautifully and give multiple flavorful infusions without becoming bitter. Really like this tea
Not usually a fan of oolongs myself but was pleasantly surprised with how sweet and smooth this tea was. Would buy again.
I was not a fan of this one. I think this is the only tea I've gotten from adagio that I haven't liked but it has a bit of an odd after taste.
One of my first oolongs. It was lightly sweet and refreshing! Def a favorite of mine
This is one of my favorite oolong tea that I have tried. I would order again in future.
I tried brewing western and eastern style. It's a nice oolong, but I wasn't overly impressed with it. It didn't have as much flavor as expected.
best enjoyed steeping for 30 seconds then discarding the first steep. steep a second time for about 45 seconds. be careful not to use water that is too hot or you may get a slightly bitter taste.
This is my new favorite. I brew it at 185 and it brings out a wonderful flavor. Hint of sweet, a little buttery. Multiple brews.
This has become my favorite oolong available from Adagio. The flavor is slightly vegetal and spicy. It has become a tea that is on the list each time I place an order.
This tea is very calming for me. I love it right away in the morning to start my day
Probably not one i would have ordered for myself but it wasn't bad
A light golden color in the glass, the scent of this tea is enough to bring about a peaceful state of being. As others have noted, it has a buttery mouth feel, a gentle, soft, serene essence. I really like it a lot and am glad I got to sample it. Given it is so expensive, I will stick with other teas that I like just as much that are not so expensive. 195F for three minutes.
Simple yet flavorful. Didn't take note that it should be brewed in a closed cup - will definitely do this for my second cup. This is one I'll order again just to decide how I really feel long term. Nose of matcha, clean on the palate. Dangerously drinkable?
Boy am I glad I checked the reviews! I was so disappointed in my first cup, even after “rinsing” the leaves for 10-15 seconds. It tasted like regular ol water, I didn’t even want to drink it!
But then I remembered reading that someone had liked the 2nd cup better, and the 3rd cup was their favorite - and that was very true! There is a depth of flavor that comes out, I think a quick rinse just wasn't enough. In fact I even steeped a 4th cup (which also tasted great!) to put in the fridge for later because I’ve enjoyed other oolongs cold, and I hadn’t been able to resist drinking it all while hot. (Okay - my husband helped with one of the cups!)
So if you don’t like your first cup - try, try again! Because this is such a lovely tea.
Apr 11, 2025: this is reminding me of the green tea served at a favorite restaurant, now closed... great undertones
Sept 11, 2023: a nice, light, subtlely sweet green tea... that has more depth than you might expect.
I lost track of time, and probably brewed a smidge longer than recommended, and also forgot to cover it for the steep. But it came out wonderfully.
This is a really great tea. No additives needed for me. My first steep was a little more on the vegetal green side with subtle floral notes especially in the aroma coming from my cup. It did still have the distinct oolong flavor just not as pronounced as in some of the darker ones which I actually prefer. Had a bit of a dry finish. My second steep lost the dry finish and the vegetal flavor making way for a clean green jasmine type flavor with perhaps the subtlest of a fruit undertone that I cannot identify specifically. I like other oolongs better especially ones I consider to be more buttery in texture, but I still have this 5 stars as it is a wonderful tea nonetheless. Gonna try a 3rd steep as well. 195° both steeps 3 min on first 4 min on second
A delightful delicate cup! Smooth, and sweet. A distinct “green” taste, but I think that’s good
CommuniTEA sample: 2 min @ 195 F, second infusion for 3 min @ 195 F. I really like a good milk oolong. I like grassy green teas a lot, but this one is not grassy at all! I still think it's really nice, and I think that a lot of other elements from green teas come out in it. It has a slight, resin kind of sweetness that I usually associate with green tea. It has that buttery, milky flavor, really smooth and silky mouthfeel. I agree that there's some honey like sweetness to it, as well as something a little bit floral. I think that there's a tiny bit of a natural bitterness, similar to what you would find in a green tea or oolong, but much more toned down, and not grassy or vegetal. I found the first cup to have some mild but enjoyable dryness, while the second cup was even cleaner and smoother! It's definitely one that you should have for multiple infusions!
A solid oolong tea. A bit grassy with a floral aftertaste.
A really nice oolong. Flavor is parts floral, mineral, and grain. Heavy body, almost a bit buttery. Stands up to multiple steeps.
What do I love as much as a floral and bright green tea? An earthy and buttery one! This tea was one of my favorites when I had it in CommuniTEA awhile back, but I forgot to write a review. The smell of this in the package is grassy and vegetive. When it brews, the leaves unfurl so magnificently. The taste is a mild sweetness with very little bitterness and a smooth mouthfeel. A gorgeous way to sip away an afternoon.
I brewed this wrong at first but after watching videos and doing it the correct way it was lovely. Quick in quick out was how it was brewed best. If you struggle making this watch a video and you will see it doesn’t really need 2 minutes. “Wash” or quick rinse the tea then brew again then pour
I don't drink too many oolongs, but I was very pleased with this tea. It had a nice, flavor and pleasant aroma.
Great cup that lived up to the hype with a slightly sweet honey like flavor. 2nd and 3rd steeping were just as good.
Delicious. Subtle green flavor, nice mouthfeel, and a strong honey note. Not sure it’s worth the price for an everyday tea but it’s a fun treat once in a while.
This green tea is smooth and delicious. The tea tasted great without the need to add sugar or honey. I absolutely loved this tea. A little goes a long way.
Ali Shan is one of my favorites - it's remarkably smooth, tasty, and varied in which aromatics and flavors come forward based on temperature. Overall, the earthiness I garner from it, with notes of fresh grass, steamed vegetables, seaweed, sometimes a light floral component, and a light sweetness with zero astringency always make Ali Shan an enjoyable tea for me personally; the Master's Collection version refines and heightens these, but this standard Adagio version is still a winner.
This is a really good flavor of tea, I thought it had a unique flavor
I got a sample size and it tasted amazing. Best tea I have ever had, very floral and sweet. So i bought a 3 oz bag of it and when i tried it, it didnt taste like the same tea at all. Almost tasted like i used dirty dishwater to brew it.
Very special tea and high quality! I bough Ali Shan from exquisite tea vendors before and this one is exceptional!
If you like Oolong this one is pure gold. Super flavorful but subtle. No intrusion in to the moment, it just melds. Brews a lovely color and keeps you warm and vibrant!
Wow! I never thought I would give this 5 stars, but it had such a smooth buttery mouthfeel with no astringency anything less seemed unjust. I will admit I didn't like the green scent on opening the CT packet, but luckily for me the scent didn't translate to taste. I really enjoyed this tea! 195 x 3 min.
A high quality Oolong with some interesting flavors. It had a vegetal taste, I prefer darker oolongs
Oh mama, that’s a good tea! Steeped for 2ish minutes at 190° one, two, three times... there’s the heady floral note, but it’s not too overpowering, then a lovely sweetness that keeps you coming back as you settle into— is it mossy? It’s not exactly earthy, although it’s from the earth. Not green or vegetal. More like the essence of a rare and precious mineral. Captivating!
I really enjoyed this soothing buttery tea. Not bitter. Delicious with a little honey but has a mild sweetness on its own. Beautiful pale yellow color.
A soft oolong, with the faintest hint of sweetness.
As others have said, this tea is wonderfully sweet and buttery, on the more floral and green side of oolongs. The flavor, though delicate, has surprising depth to it. I haven't tried to steep it multiple times yet, but I'm definitely going to do so!
June 24: yeah still lovely thsi time I had a hard time getting the flavor I might have steeped it too hot
really lovely, light buttery green oolong. Unlike anything I've had on here, but like something that wowed me in a tea shop recently. It is not a bold flavor. It's really nice when I want a pick me up in the afternoon but not TOO much of one.
This tea is light and buttery, sweet and layered with a lingering full mouthfeel. It is not as floral or grassy as most of Adagio's green teas, perhaps a mix between Fujian orchid and a milk oolong. A second brew retains that fullness of flavor complexity even thought it is light. This is not an easy tea to pair, because while it goes with everything, it s flavor is light enough to be lost afterwards. I brewed this CT pack in filtered water and it was still nice, but I suspect that brewing in spring water would bring out more complexity, sweetness, and perhaps floral components. This tea is light and satisfying iced.
I really enjoyed this tea. I only added a bit of honey as a sweetener but I think I could have not added any at all and still enjoyed it. It has a nice smooth mouthfeel and a slight nutty flavor. I steeped it twice and it was just a good the second time.
Ali Shan, my beloved. One of my favorite rolled green teas with a grassy scent out of the package. The tea brews up pale yellow-green with a beautiful flavor, and that initial grassiness stays, but is severely tempered. Like all greens, it's prone to burning or over brewing leading to a bitter taste but despite that, it's a pleasant and mild tea.
I don’t always go for the greener Oolongs, but this one really performs amazingly well in multiple infusions. It’s become a staple on workdays because my subsequent pots have so much hearty flavor.
Absolutely love this tea! I steep it 3 times and it is great each time. Well worth the cost in my opinion.
Amazing tea. You can really tell it's a crop above the rest. Nice buttery mouth feel, and no bitterness across several steeps. I use this with my gongfu tea set.
Super full bodied slightly malty, a tad roasty, a little floral, and a little green notes. For those who like a big bold oolong with a bit of all the flavor notes. Quite resistant to over brewing so good for grandpa style
