Only the finest, young, shade-grown gyokuro tea leaves are used to create matcha. The leaves are plucked and laid out flat to dry. Veins are removed and the leaves, now called tencha, are carefully ground in granite mills until they become the precious powder.

I love the smell of this matcha. it has a wonderful cocoa-caramel type scent when you take a wiff of it. Unfortunately, I don't really feel it tastes much like mocha. It is still very tasty and is a slightly sweeter, smoother flavor than the regular matcha--just not quite as mocha-y flavored as I was hoping for! It would make a good starter matcha for someone just getting in to drinking it, I think. not as green-tasting as the regular variety.
I brewed this with some steamed milk and sugar - tastes just like hot cocoa. It's a tad bitter on it's own but makes a deliciously creamy treat if you add some sweetener.
Not sure what to think of the strange extreme green color. I think I like it! :) It wasn't as mocha-y as I thought it'd be, but still tasted great and HELLOO?? It's so good for you!
I've tried the peach and the chocolate, but I actually found that I liked the taste of this slightly better than the chocolate. The coffee flavor with the chocolate just brought out both flavors slightly better. Great stuff.
Not as mocha-flavored as other Mocha Matchas I've had - but beautiful bright green with a hint of mocha. I might try mixing the mocha matcha with raspberry matcha and see how that whisks up.
The mocha smell of this powder is fabulous, and the color and consistency is that of Adagio's regular matcha powder. I use mine to make lattes and this works great for that. The mocha flavor is very light, but might be stronger without the milk or by using more powder.

i gave up coffee so having a light coffee flavor in my green tea{good for me} is great, chocolate to!!! MMMMM love it.
Delicious match flavor with just a hint of mocha. The smell is very strong, but the flavor is quite subtle.
WOW. This one smacks you in the face just opening the bag. The smell of the green powder is delicious the taste is the perfect flavor for matcha. All around greeny goodness.
