Blood Orange Customer Reviews

Deep vibrant color and sweet flavor. Hearty with a good balance of orange peel dryness and fruit juiciness.

Really enjoyed the flavors in hot and cold versions.

Aside from the bright red color that demands immediate washing of the mug to avoid staining, I love this tea. It's got a great balance of sweet and tart, and it only needs a little bit of sweetening with sugar or my favorite, orange blossom honey, to really bring forth the orange flavor.

★★★★★

UPDATE: The longer I drink this tea, the more I love it. I've now been drinking it for almost 10 years, and I adore it. It is surprisingly sweet, but still citrusy. If you like a sweeter tea, you can add a dash of sugar, but not too much!

A fruity tisane with a nice tang at the end. If you like tangy fruits (cranberry, orange, etc), you will probably appreciate this tea. I prefer a slightly gentler finish, but this one is worth re-ordering.

I am trying several samples. So far this is one of my favorites.

★★★★★

This is a great tasting tea. The smell and taste are delightful. I took this tea to work and my co-worker wanted to know if she could have an orange! I told her it was my cup of tea. I would recommend this tea.

This tea has a nice, full, zingy flavor that comes out well both hot and cold.

★★★★★

Wonderful herbal. Very sour flavor, but an undercurrent of sweetness. Alone, it doesn't really need sugar. It would be wonderful iced!

★★★☆☆

I want a huge fan of this one. I followed the brewing suggestions, but I ended up with orange at the bottom of my cup, and a big cup full of water. It wasn't a strong enough flavor for my taste. I'm going to try it again and see if I have better luck next time.

★★★★☆

Very pure blood orange flavor. It's very yummy warm, but I like it best iced. Makes a good replacement for citrus soda.

★★★☆☆

This is way too strong. Unless I only steep it for a minute it's undrinkable.

★★★★☆

Flavor is slightly lacking, but it smells amazing and looks beautiful while it steeps. Makes a beautiful looking tea, could possibly use 2 tbs if you are looking for a more flavorful brew.

★★★☆☆

I love blood orange and I think this tea would taste great cold but I got it in the winter time and tried it warm that was my mistake. Next time I will make it cold.

★★★★★

This has become our 'go to' for iced tea. Very refreshing!

★★★★★

This is amazing tea. Great with lemongrass too!! Or iced!!

★★★☆☆

This smells amazing! It tastes nice too, but kinda tastes like watered down fruit juice.

★★★★★

By far my favorite tea. I love the aroma and the flavor of it both cold and hot.

Nice great flavor, mixed well with a green or an oolong.

★★★★★

used the big bag for making ice tea. wonderful taste

★★★★★

I gave this to a friend and she LOVES it. She wants me to pick up more.

★★★★★

This tea butsts with orange flavour. It's so tasty and it really wakes you up. The perfect tea for early morning or if you have a cold.

★★★★★

Excellent sweet, tangy, zesty flavor that you would expect from orange.

★★★★★

I am allergic to cinnamon and can't drink my normal orange spice tea. This tea is a much better tea than my old tea. Wonderful and bold tasting.

★★★★☆

I really like the blood orange tea cold as well as hot.

★★★★★

I mix this tea 1/2 and 1/2 with the Blood Orange tea. It is my absolute favorite combination from Adagio. We make up 3 quarts of iced tea at a time, and probably go through two 3 quart containers a week! I use 2 oz. of the mixed tea, and I used my Mr Coffee Iced Tea maker, and follow my Mr Coffee iced tea maker instructions on making up 3 qts. of ice tea. Comes out perfectly every time.

This hit a ton of my nostalgia sensors. When I was a little kid my mother would often make us 'Russian Tea' that used 'Tang' drink mix as a base and this blood orange brought back all those tart, citrusy flavor memories. It also might have helped that I was just getting over a cold, so a big steaming pot of this was like wrapping up in a comforter and sitting on the couch but in liquid form.
I will definitely be buying the larger tin.

*UPDATE* Since it's fall I went a little crazy this morning and after measuring out the blood orange tea into my pot, I added crushed cardamom pods, whole all spice, cloves, star anise, and a dash of cinnamon. BAM! Liquid Autumn perfection.

I mix 2 iced tea bags of blood orange with 2 iced tea bags of ceylon, Steep them in hot water(just short of boiling) for 5 minutes. I then discard the ceylon bags but leave the blood orange in the pitcher. It makes a gallon of the best iced tea ever! The blood orange gives it just a bit of sweetness.

Great flavor. Dark color. Is a great iced tea. I love this flavor.

★★★★★

This tea got me addicted to tea. It has a nice uplifting flavor that is easy to drink. It seems to boost my mood.

★★★★★

Absolutely a family favorite! 2 of my sisters actually brew it hot and later serve it cold on ice

★★★★★

WOW! This is amazing! I love rose hip/hibiscus/fruit tea, and I was brought here by ThinkGeek's Zombie Blood Orange, so I'm not surprised that I liked this. But I was surprised that I LOVE it! It's almost as good as Zombie Blood Orange, and I'm crazy about that stuff. It's got a sweet flavor on its own - I did not sweeten it, even though I usually sweeten Zombie Blood Orange. The flavor is really... full? Not straight-up orange. Maybe it's the rinds that round the flavor out. I don't know! I iced it right away. I think it needs a little more tea than the directions say. Be sure to shake the bag really well before measuring out your tea. Steep times closer to 5min will give you a drier flavor. closer to 10 will be more tart. Absolutely reordering - the 1lb bag this time! P.S. Be careful with your white furniture/clothes/tablecloths when you're drinking Blood Orange! It can stain! Update: Try brewing a 12-16oz mugful with two heaping tablespoons of tea, a teaspoon of thinly sliced or grated fresh ginger, and a couple cinnamon stick for ten minutes.

I got this to mix with Strawberry, as I have had blood Orange Strawberry Iced tea and loved it. As a nice citrus flavor this tea has done very well, very happy with my purchase.

★★★★★

My go to tea is berry blast but sometimes I like a change. This one is flavorful with a nice mix of citrus and spice. I think it will be a good cold weather treat.

★★★★★

My favorite of all the teas! This is a great flavor and color, it runs out frequently so I only place my orders while it is in stock!

This one is true to what you would expect. It's good though a little bitter due to the orange skin. Not bad though.

This one is another all around favorite here. We both like it a lot and I am glad I accidentally got two of them! We have started making it as an iced tea and it is super yummy that way as well.

★★★★★

This tea has turned into one of my favorites and has turned into my go to tea if I really just want to brew a cup. I defiantly recommend this one for anyone who loves herbal teas.

★★★★★

Love this tea! Needed to buy more to make for a friend.

★★★★★

Serve it as ice tea. Wonderful taste and aroma. I had to dilute it a bit for my taste.

★★★★☆

Another one for the wee tea lover. He wasn't as crazy for this one (it was a bit bitter for him), but he said that it is better cold.

This was just okay for me. Not bad, but not great.

I'm so happy to have found such a delicious herbal tea. The color of this tea is gorgeous, the taste is rich and delicious. I love just pulling the bag out and sticking my nose in, it's so delicious.

Delicious. Stands on its own and really needs nothing. However, a touch of honey or rock sugar crystals enhances the flavors nicely

I love the way the tartness of the fruit really comes out! This is yummy cold or hot.

★★★★☆

I really liked the flavors of the blood orange. I like my tea a little stronger so next time I will mix with a black tea. My husband and daughter enjoyed it as is.

★★★★★

Very good iced tea blend. One of our favorites. Will order again.

★★★★☆

Echoing an earlier review that says that this tea tastes exactly like it smells - it really does, which is GREAT if you are an orange lover like me. Beautiful color and great flavor. It is very tart, though, and I've found that I prefer it sweetened a little bit. Overall I think I prefer this tea as part of a blend, but it's still delicious on its own.

Update: Please try this iced. Just do it. It's amazing.

I thought this tea was a bit tart but I enjoyed it. Not one of my favs. but I would try again.

This tea is different but flavorful and is good when I'm in the mood for a really citrus-y type blend.
