Jasmine Yin Hao Customer Reviews

A deeply floral Yin Hao ('Silver Tip') grade jasmine from Fujian, China. Very layered fragrance, soft yet full-bodied with a sweet, slight dryness in the finish. Infused with jasmine many times over to create a truly unforgettable cup.

One of my all time favorites for sure. I was leery of green teas at the beginning of my tea journey, mostly due to my only experiences with them were scorched and over steeped Lipton ones. This tea, properly steeped, changed my mind and allowed me to open up to the world of green teas. A lovely floral green, perfect to pair with an episode or two of 'Avatar the Last Airbender'.

★★★★★

Beautifully delicate jasmine aroma and not at all grassy. Maybe not so much better than the cheaper chun hao that I'd buy it all the time, but definitely nice as a treat.

I enjoy this green tea. It is pleasant to drink, not grassy or bitter unless you reaaally over-steep. Nonetheless, I find it tolerant to being over-steeped - good if you are forgetful. I recommend following the instructions on the package for time. I heat water in my kettle until it starts whistling, so I think it's probably a little hotter than recommended. I originally got it in the jasmine tea sampler box, and I can't really taste much difference between this and the other jasmines.

I enjoyed this jasmine tea! I brewed for a little longer!

I have been drinking Jasmine Yin Hoa tea for many years. I recently purchased this tea from Adagio Teas and it is definitely not what it claims to be. It is not highly infused with Jasmine. At best, it is plain green tea. I would not recommend purchasing this from Adagio.

Loved it and will reorder, but can't remember if I prefer it or Jasmine Chun Hao. I guess I'll have to order both!

This Jasmine Yin Hao is light, floral, and crisp. It brews equally well hot and cold. If you love jasmine tea, this one is for you.

Trying to sample some new green teas, as that is my morning drink. It wakes me up, makes me feel better when feeling a little under the weather.

This is really delicious tea. Amazing, rich taste. The best tea to start the day well.

This one had a much stronger jasmine flavour than I'd been expecting but it still came out delicious!

My personal favorite of the greens, light, flowery and works incredibly with a splash of lemonade to add a mild sweetness and tartness. Works well cold brewing overnight as well.

★★★★★

Delicious. I was looking for a nice, sweet jasmine tea in bags to brew in my office. This one is lovely.

I am not a Jasmine fan - that was very apparent for me today. I couldn’t get past the sweet floral flavor. For Jasmine lovers this might be good but not for me. CT 8/16/2023.

The jasmine is a bit too perfume scented in this tea. Otherwise, a great tea.

This tea has a very pleasant jasmine scent to it. The flavor of the jasmine blends well with the green tea, with neither flavor overwhelming the other. You can easily get multiple steeps from the leaves.

CommuniTEA portion: 180 for 2-3 minutes. Jasmine aroma creates a lovely and relaxing sip. Light and calming. A nice balance of floral and grassy for me.

Not a bad tea, it’s simply too floral for me. It was like drinking perfume. Sorry, not my cuppa.

10 oz, 2 mins @ 180* F, divided. Sweetener in both, cream in hot.

Hot
I tried this initially w/o cream as that's how I generally drink jasmine teas. However, I must have oversteeped (even though I only did 2 mins, I'm thinking I should have steeped at a lower temp than 180*F) as it was a bit too bitter for me. So I added a splash of cream in hopes to round it out some. It's weird with cream in it, but not in a bad way, just different. I'm hoping upon chilling in the fridge that the bitterness subsides. Despite it being a bit strong in the perfumyness, I still managed to down the entire hot portion.

I may try a second steeping based on how strong the jasmine scent/flavor was in the first steeping.

Cold
Still a bit bitter. If I sample this again I want to either cold brew it overnight or steep at 170* F

This tea is absolutely lovely! It's been a few years since I've had jasmine tea, and purchased it on a lark. The flavor is wonderfully jasmine without being overly floral.

This is a very jasmine forward green tea that is very fragrant in the packet and in the cup as well. I steeped at 190 degrees for 2 minutes and got a second steep as well. I also got to try this tea a second time and I steeped it at 180 degrees. There’s just too much jasmine in this one for me so I give it a so-so rating.

When brewed appropriately, this jasmine tea is all the things jasmine tea should be: delicate and floral with just enough subtle astringency to balance the floral notes. Though not naturally sweet per se, the jasmine’s soft, floral notes give the suggestion of sweetness, so no additional sweetener is really necessary. That said, brewed without care, the soft, sweet essence of the jasmine pales in contrast to the green tea. It’s not grassy, but the delicacy is lost and more astringency comes through masking the floral notes from the jasmine. Treated gently, Jasmine Yin Hao will deliver an ethereal experience in the sensual aroma, the delicious taste, and the soft mouthfeel. Treated a little less carefully, it still delivers an acceptable cup of tea but one that’s a little more grounding. Really, the only thing Yin Hao lacks, in this reviewer’s opinion, is the visual stimulation offered from jasmine pearls and the luxury inherently suggested by the word “pearls.” (<2 minutes @ 175°F)

Yup, smells like perfume. Tastes like it, too. Floral tea-lovers will rejoice, but I'd rather hand this cup over to someone else. Steeped 2 min @ 180º.

this was a new one for me and I really really loved it. 'deeply perfumy' is right, but not off-putting. ... but it doesn't taste 'perfumy' or artificial. definitely a green tea but a subtle one, not bitter or grassy or anything I dont like when I don't like a green tea. So interesting. I LOVE jasmine phoenix pearls and didn't think there could be better but this is kind of deeper and more complex.

Drinking jasmine tea always reminds me of my Father-in-Law. He enjoyed jasmine teas and would have fun looking for them in the grocery stores. That was long ago and before I knew about Adagio Teas. He definitely would have liked this one. I too enjoy jasmine teas. This is fragrant, light and enjoyable for an afternoon sip. Not too grassy and the right amount of jasmine.

This is a nice and delicate jasmine green tea that strikes a good balance between the floralness of the jasmine and the grassiness of the green tea base.

UPDATED from 2/28/21: Very light aroma of fresh greens emits from the CommuniTea packet and the beautiful green and silver leaves steep into a deep golden color. This is an appropriate color for this very special queen of green jasmine tea. She is elegant, and her scent and flavor are sweet and subtle, not at all the offensive perfume type. Ahh, she is mild with no bitterness, and makes my mouth feel buttery as she gently caresses all my senses in the finish. I add ¼ teaspoon of sweetener (to 10 oz) in the second cup as experimentation, and discover the sweet floral queen blooms more. Though a bit pricey, keep in mind - this tea can be steeped many, many times. I am currently on my fourth cup. (3mins @ 180ºF + optional sweetener)

Not a huge fan of jasmine tea as most are too floral. This has plenty of green tea base. Nice if I wanted a day of jasmine.

This tea has a beautifully balanced Jasmine aroma and flavor. It's not an overly done Jasmine flavor which I'm thankful for. It also has a naturally sweet flavor that reminds me of the actual Jasmine flower while not becoming too much like perfume. Before my daughter knew what we were drinking, she asked if it had honey suckle in it :) This is also a multisteeper. I got a good four steeps out of this one portion of tea!

In the bag: Looks exactly like the Adagio photo, though some breakdown occurred in transit. About 10% of my packet has been pulverized.

On the nose: Strong floral scent rather than a grassy one. A slightly musty background note before the steep, but not after.

On the tongue: Floral jasmine on the front of my tongue, grassy green at the back. No astringency.

Opinion: A pleasant tea. The jasmine is a welcome addition to help offset the often unpleasant raw grass of green tea. Still not my favorite flavors, however.

Preparation: First steep 3 min, second steep 6 min. Both @ 175 ℉. No sweetener.
