This floral green tea is one of my favorites. There is moderate astringency, but not enough to become bitter. I drink this with a few sugar crystals or a little stevia. Yum!
A classic jasmine tea from Fujian, China, infused with the delicate scent of night-blooming jasmine flowers. Sweet perfumy cup, notes of warmed sugar, slightly toasty like a fresh biscuit. Light, refreshing and not overwhelmingly floral.

This floral green tea is one of my favorites. There is moderate astringency, but not enough to become bitter. I drink this with a few sugar crystals or a little stevia. Yum!
At first steep, smells like fresh jasmine flowers in the morning. Pleasant buttery flavor, no noted astringency, great to drink hot or iced. I like it without sweetener. Green tea flavor mild, jasmine forward, but not too perfume-based. Excellent blend!
Before trying this tea with CommuniTEA today, I'd never had jasmine tea except in Adagio's Buddha's Dream tea (which I love). I had no idea I liked floral teas until the last year or so, and it's been a pleasant surprise. Today's Jasmine Chun Hao is really quite delicious. I felt like i was drinking nectar in Bali or something, and I loved that feeling! (Though I think jasmine is not everyone's taste.) For me, Adagio's description was on point. Before I made my first cup I saw reviews from fellow CommuniTEAers commenting on the strong astringency in this tea. I did my first steep for only 2 minutes @ 180º, and found the astringency level to be perfect. Not too strong, though definitely present. Both the aroma and flavor were soothing to me. I found the aroma to be very floral and the flavor to be less so. I didn't add sweetener because I was enjoying it so much as it was. I'd love to try it again with honey sometime to see what that brings out in the flavor. I resteeped the leaves twice, each cup being smoother and a bit less floral than the previous. (2 mins @ 180º; multiple steeps. No additions!)
I accidently let the tea go cold and discovered that its amazing cold. The jasmine is very refreshing.
The soft mouthfeel of the jasmine pairs so well with the green tea. It is a very soothing tea and goes down easily with no added sweetener needed.
I find myself really enjoying the floral teas, and this one is no exception. Brewing this tea is very satisfying , from the perfume-y smell when you open the packet, the solid sound of the tea bouncing into the diffuser and the way the leaves unfurl. I add a bit of sweetener to round it out and have to force myself to sip slowly and savor the flavor. It’s lovely
Very Floral, it repealed me because it smells like perfume. Not my favorite. If you like floral Jasmine this maybe for you. I sampled this Tea as part of the CommuniTEA February Box.
Still a little hint of grassiness, which is to be expected for a green tea, but it was very subtle and I was still able to really enjoy the jasmine aroma and flavor. I steeped at 175 because I don't have a 180 button on my kettle, but I think that helped cut some of the bitterness.
Today’s communiTea was a green tea. Strong and grassy with a very forward floral flavor. As it steeped a strong floral, hmm almost perfumery scent surrounded me in my kitchen, as I watched it tint my glass teapot. Jasmine Chun Hal definitely showed up, at first with a strong earthy, yet slightly sweetened taste, that instantly was washed away by a overload of floral flavoring on my tongue. Nope, not a tea for me. Don’t get me wrong I love perfume, and my life is surrounded by beautiful strong aromatic flowers, but not in my cuppa tea. (3 mins @ 180F)
I actually steeped this tea at 165-170F and that may have been the key to avoiding the astringency that other people have noted.
My cup was clear and golden after only 2 minutes, so I pulled the infuser even though I steep most greens for 3. I'm glad I did because I had a tea that was rich, floral, and perfectly smooth. The jasmine flavor really blooms in your mouth with a lovely sweetness. Green tea notes are definitely in the background, with a light buttery/grassy quality that is almost completely lost to the brightness of jasmine. Each sip is gently calming and smooth all the way down with no bitterness or astringency.
This is really a perfect cup of jasmine tea, especially with a lower steeping temperature than Adagio recommends. And you get a great bang for your buck with multiple delicious steeps.
I love a great jasmine tea! The aroma was lovely and the taste was amazing.
I’m not a fan of green tea, but jasmine teas I can usually handle. This one was very astringent and still had a very strong green flavor. Phoenix pearls are a much more pleasant jasmine flavor!
I love the entire experience of a good jasmine tea! Watching the leaves uncurl and brew their elixir, breathing in the delicate floral fragrance, and then sipping the exotic perfumed potion! Jasmine teas call for a delicate tea cup, never a heavy mug! (In my humble opinion!) I’ve been fortunate to be able to sample two of Adagio’s Jasmine teas-this one and Jasmine Phoenix Pearls. This one is a bit stronger and a bit more perfumed. I look forward to continuing my exploration!
What a wonderful Jasmine tea. Nice flavour to it. Very light and happy. This would make a great addition to what I call my “happy teas”. Those are the teas I brew that need more time to sip and savour. A way for me to relax and be happy again. Mellow out when having a tough day at work. I will put this one on my wish list.
I'm a huge jasmine tea fan and this one was no exception. Strong flavor without being too overwhelming. Re-steeps super well, too!
I was excited to see another single ingredient green tea in today's CommuniTEA packet: Jasmine Chun Hao. The packet revealed the intoxicating floral scent of jasmine.
The VelociTEA maker's White Tea button allowed me to steep this tea for the recommended 180ºF for 3 minutes. The tea produced was a deep yellow-green hue and smelled of jasmine flowers.
The first sip let it be known that this was a quality jasmine tea. It was not too overly floral or bitter as some blends can be. While hot, this tea was pleasantly floral and full bodied. The finish is rather astringent, as most jasmine teas can be, yet still not bitter. As the tea cools, this astringency becomes more pronounced. The second steeping is less fragrant but still a strong enough amount of the jasmine flavor, backed up by the green tea. It still has moderate astringency but maybe slightly less than the first steep.
Overall, this is a good quality jasmine tea that stays true to the style. Disclaimer: I'm not a huge fan of most jasmine teas because they can be overly astringent and bitter, especially when steeped too long or with too hot of water. However, this one is pleasant enough to drink even for my tastes. So it's demonstrated to me that there still are some jasmine teas out there worth a second look.
Reviewing this tea with my fellow CommuniTEA drinkers, I can say that I actually quite liked this one. I'm normally not a fan of jasmine teas, as the floral scent and flavor are usually too overpowering to me versus the green tea base, but this one was a lot milder than most other green teas, despite having a strong jasmine fragrance (and I do enjoy the way jasmine smells). I much preferred it hot, though. As it cooled, the jasmine flavor seemed to come further to the forefront and get more in your face, so to speak. I also found this to be nice with a bit of honey, which I added on the second steep.
Both steeps were 3 minutes at 185F. (I like my tea strong).
This was just ok to me. I found it to be very floral and over the top jasmine.
I loved how thick this was on my tongue, light yet strong and floral for a green tea. I really enjoyed it
I will be honest; I couldn't finish my cup of today's CommuniTea Jasmine tea. It tasted like I was drinking perfume. Lovely scent, just not my personal preference for tea drinking!
This tea smells so good. The perfect jasmine scent! The taste is very nice too. Floral and smooth.
I am in love with jasmine greens. And this tea was no different. It's a very soft bouquet but the floral notes are just strong enough in my opinion. It's not quite a punch as berry blast, but it's much more appealing than cha cha for those who couldn't stand that floral monstrosity. This isn't as potent as dragon pearls, but this is also a different treated tea. This is a tea I would enjoy with breakfast or a late night snack. The smooth finish reminds me of the feeling of fresh baked goods, warm bread, or gooey cookies
Delightful. Smooth, sweet, and floral, with a buttery mouthfeel and honey aftertaste which is balanced perfectly with just enough vegital green tea goodness and no astringency. A rebrew is a bit more floral and mineral, not as great as the first but quite good. I brewed 1/2 tsp of leaves in 4 oz of 170F for 2 mins.
Jasmine teas are usually my favorite type of green teas and this one did not disappoint. Not at all bitter to me, the jasmine balances the 'greenness' quite well.
One of my favorite teas is the jasmine pearl. This tea is similar, but with a more delicate flavor. For this tea is should be steeped under three minutes at a lower temperature.
Nice green tea. The jasmine really makes this tea. Added sweetener
I didn't oversteep this tea as I knew I was going to hate it. It is better understeeped. I usually like floral teas, but jasmine is the only exception. This was today's tea in my Communitea box. My daughter's on the other hand liked it as it reminded them of their grandmother who has jasmine plants at home. I handed my tea over to them today. The tea leaves are strong on aroma. Before you can put your lips onto the cup, you can smell it.
This is an overall pleasant jasmine tea, but it's quite astringent. I've had similar teas that were smoother and more enjoyable.
Wonderful jasmine scent and flavor. I like a good jasmine green tea, and this is a good one. Moderate level of jasmine, not overdone. And not artificial tasting as some jasmine teas are. Definitely something I would drink from time to time.
Normally I don't like floral, but jasmine is the only exception. I really liked this tea, and it resteeps really well too. It has a very nice green base, not very grassy. There was some astringency, but I kind of liked it. I think I like it because it reminds me of going to Chinese restaurants.
Too floral.
As an aside, February communiTEA much too heavily weighted with greens, whites, herbals.
Reviewing with the CommuniTEA today: The scent of jasmine and honey waft from nose of this steeped tea. For me it is slightly reminiscent of honeysuckle. When I take a sip there is a pronounced floral aroma followed by a slightly buttery, then slightly dry green tea finish with jasmine notes lingering long after. This is not the strongest jasmine tea I have tasted from Adagio, but it is quite pronounced in this tea. Most of the typical green tea characteristics are masked by the Jasmine. Tea steeped for 2:35 minutes at 185° F.
I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy this tea today. I'm not a big fan of jasmine teas, but this one has changed my mind. The jasmine aroma is moderately strong, but it tastes nicely of green tea. It's a bit more astringent than I like, but has a smooth mouthfeel and a dry finish.
It's a light green tea with a little extra floral bite to it. Quite a pleasant surprise.
Moderate floral jasmine aromas were noted upon opening my communiTEA packet this morning.
I steeped this green tea at 175°F because I don’t have a 180 button on my kettle. I pulled the steep when I first noted falling tea leaves.
When hot, a smooth and mild buttery-sweet mouthfeel was noted. Mild mineral tastes were noted on the rear sides of my tongue. Jasmine flavors and aromas were moderate. I don’t normally add sweeteners to non-fruit flavored green teas … I stood pat on that decision.
When warm, jasmine flavors and aromas were strong. Unfortunately, a moderate tea astringency was noted.
The first steep was too strong and “in-your-face” with jasmine flavors and aromas. Some may like this. Personally, I don’t. The second steep was pulled at two minutes when the color depth was the same as the first. Astringent tea tastes were still the same, but with less floral tastes and aromas. Overall, both steeps were too astringent. I rated this tea on astringency, not it’s strong and forward floral factor. (1st steep: 3 mins/2nd steep: 2 mins @ 175ºF, no sweetener added)
Very heavily floral tasting, like drinking jasmine flowers which is to be expected I suppose given the name of it, but it’s not my cup of tea.
If I rate this tea for what it is I'd give it 5 stars. You could taste and smell the jasmine. It was a good green tea. I myself do not like the floral taste, too perfumey.
Jasmine tea is one of my favorite, very excited to try this tea. The tea was very fragrant and a smooth taste. The jasmine taste was obvious and delicious.
Not a bad green tea for the CommuniTEA sample. It's not one i'd keep on hand for myself, but a very nice sample.
Smells and tastes like heavy perfume. I don’t recommend.
I don't usually go for jasmine teas, but this one was really good! VERY jasmine-y. 175F for 2 mins was all that was needed, and the second brew was nearly as strong.
I'm an always-uses-sweetener type of person, but this one is drinkable without it.
I am not a fan of this type of tea. It is too perfumey for me.
I'm so glad I have a rule that I have to try every day's CommuniTea packet before I decide if I like it or not. At first I thought this one was going to be a fail for me...I don't really like green teas or florals... But, I brewed it and was completely surprised -- this is wonderful tea! My kettle doesn't have a 180F setting, so I heated to 185 and let it sit for two minutes before brewing. 3 minutes, 180F. Not grassy & not overly floral. Just an very aromatic jasmine tea...has a wonderful aroma and sweet taste. The taste isn't too light or too heavy -- just perfect. I will definitely order this one!
Some jasmines I love more than others. This particular one sort of left a dry feel at the back of my tongue. I added sugar and it smoothed it out but despite brewing to 180 for just over 2 minutes it was astringent for a jasmine tea.
As I opened the packet, the aroma of jasmine wafted out, a little stronger than I had expected. I brewed this up at 175 degrees for 3 minutes to get a pale yellow tea. This tea was VERY floral and perfumy, almost but just shy of cloying. I actually could not finish the cup, as it just became too much for me. The flowery taste lingered at the back of the throat, to me it was unpleasant, but if you like a strong jasmine scent and taste this may be a great tea for you.
This was the one time I could smell jasmine and not have my allergies go crazy! LOL
The aroma was lovely. And the tea was a nice green tea! I just don’t enjoy drinking floral! I added a little Tupelo honey which helped tone down the perfume taste to me.
That said I know it is just my taste buds. And if you like a floral flavor you will enjoy this light delicate tea!
I bought this for a care package I put together for a friend going thru cancer. Her stomach gets upset and she has been doing well with green tea. I asked her to let me know how she liked it. She said it is very good!
This is a great tea with a light flavor. It reminds me of the tea served at my favorite Chinese restaurant, so I guess it has nostalgia value for me. Over-brewing will make your cup of tea bitter. Pay attention to time and you'll have a great Jasmine tea to enjoy.
For a jasmine tea it's nearly unbeatable. I made this as a cold brew and was able to get 4-5 infusions out of it, with the jasmine still there at #4.
This was my favorite tea from the jasmine sampler pack. Nice, smooth flavor with a delicate jasmine scent
