The smell of this tea is lovely and floral. The taste is very mellow, with a bit of green grass, floral notes, and a slightly buttery finish. Note that I did accidentally over-steep though--forgot to set a timer and remembered 30 min later! Still not particularly bitter though, so that's something!

This tea had an earthy quality and bitterness after the first steep at 175F x 3 minutes. I rested twice more for 2 minutes each time and liked it much better—buttery and smooth, with a vegetal backdrop.

This tea was nice as green teas go! It was actually very similar to Sleeping Dragon, but with a warming feeling <3

I was hoping to like this one more than I did. It was just a simple middle of the road light tea. Reminded me of the tea they serve at Asian restaurants between courses to cleanse your palate. It was not grassy or bitter, actually not much taste at all. This was just a “meh” tea for me.

I prefer a green tea that is much more robust. I felt like there wasn't much flavor and was kinda disappointed. Last months fancy green tea was a thousand times better.

April 17 is International Haiku Poetry Day and the CommuniTea packet was hunan gold.
Pale color, faint scent,
Today's tea rolls on my tongue,
And whispers hello.
(Brewed in 12 ounces of water at 180°F for 3 minutes)

A mild green, not overly vegal or grassy. It smelled almost floral in the packet, but sadly that did not follow through in the resulting tea. It tastes almost like a weak flavorless black teabag to be honest!

No review from me. I just don’t like green tea. I drank it, but it was awful

A very mild tea with light vegetal notes and slight astringency. I did not really resonate with this tea, but I can see why it is appealing to other folks.

CommuniTea review: slight grassiness and has a dry finish on your tastebuds. Overall, I found it to be a lovely tea. No sweeter needed, wonderful on it's own.

Happy to have a simple tea and not one with a bunch of different stuff added. I steeped at 180 degrees for 3 minutes. Not bitter at all with a lovely fresh floral taste. Packet indicates this is green tea but it brews up a pale yellow. I really liked this for a nice afternoon tea. I think I will go back for a second round!

This is a very lovely green tea. When I open the packet, the tea had a very mild leafy smell. I steeped this tea for less time than recommended (1.5 minutes at 180F) as I think 2-3 minutes is way too long for green tea unless you plan to make bitter lead juice.
After steeping, this tea had a very mild leafy flavor without any bitterness. I enjoyed it so much I went in for a second steep (1 minute at 180F) and it was just as pleasant as the first cup.
This tea seems to be slightly more expensive than other teas offered by Adagio, but only slightly. If you're looking for a very mild green tea that still taste like green tea, you'll probably like this tea.

As I opened the CommuniTEA packet I noted a weak scent of cut grass. 'Oh no! Not another grassy green tea!' I thought. I tried steeping at the 165 F green tea setting on my VelociTEA x 2 min hoping that would somehow help. No, of course not. I let it go cold on the counter and tried it later. Even more grassiness was there. I re-steeped and added it to the first cup. This was tolerable but not good. This too got cold so I re-steeped a third time. This time I steeped at 180 F x 3 min and added 1/4 tsp of Monkfruit sweetener. Now I had sweetened grass water. :(

This tea brews to a pretty, light yellow straw color. Hot, the flavor is soft, almost floral and lovely. I found it became increasingly bitter as it cooled. A little honey in the second steep took care of that.

It’s a good green tea, pleasant and mild, without the grassiness of some green teas.

Wow, this tea so interesting! It's definitely not your typical green tea. It's dry, light, fruity, and floral. I didn't get any strong vegetal flavors that you typically find in green tea. It is somewhat astringent, but I like that in my tea. I agree with another reviewer who said it reminded them of white wine, I thought the same thing--the flavors are very similar to a dry summery white wine and it is similarly refreshing. I found it most flavorful when hot, but also pleasant when warm and cold. I added sugar to a small cup of this tea but found it flattened out the flavors a bit and made them less distinguishable. I found this tea very pleasurable to drink and really enjoyed the layers of flavor much more than other green teas I have tried.

This tea is both light and sweet as well as bitter and astringent. The sweetness is really something to behold and the light floral notes really hold the flavor profile together. It's a little bitter for my taste but I can see why it might be someone's daily driver.

This tea was elegant and delicious. Sometimes keeping it simple really helps me appreciate the characteristics of the tea leaves in my cup. It was easy to drink and enjoyable. I brewed mine at a lower temperature and I'm not sorry.

This is definitely not my style of tea, but it is exactly as described. It brews into a beautiful, clear golden cup, with a complicated flavor that tastes the way perfumes smell, with a heavy floral finish.

Dry tea looks like green and yellow twists. Brewed to a very pale yellow green color. When hot, the brew is vegetal, grassy, and very astringent, but not tannic due to the lower oxidation. As the tea cools, it becomes more airy and fruity, losing some of the astringency. The finish lingers with some fruit notes and some honeysuckle flavors. Second infusion: brewed at a higher temperature, resulting in a darker golden liquor. When hot, the grassy and vegetal notes return. The brew is also more bitter, which may be due to the higher temperature used on the second infusion. However, once the cup cools, the bitterness disappears, and it again tastes of honeysuckle, but with a cleaner finish than the first infusion. What an interesting tea! Brewed for 2 1/2 minutes at 170 first infusion, 3 minutes at 190 second infusion.

Despite not being a big fan of green tea, I am always up to expand my tea horizons, so I brewed this up at 175 degrees for 2.5 minutes, and had a pale, yellowish brew.
I always expect green teas to be grassy, and vegetal, but this one was more smooth and on the floral side, I did not get the grassiness I was expecting. tis was a very light, mellow cup, that was nice enough to sip, and would probably go nicely with mealtime.

I don't love green tea, but there have been some that surprise me and I find enjoyable. This was not one of them. All at the same time I got hints of dry hay, asparagus water, something that seemed almost minty, and to top it off it was overly astringent. The taste also lingered on your tongue in an unpleasant way. After several sips, I gave up and dumped it down the drain. (reviewed through CommuniTEA; 2 min @ 180F)

Smooth and not at all astringent. This would pair well with a number of foods and treats. This has a relatively light, fresh taste that I'm struggling to describe.

The dry leaves smell fresh and grassy with a hint of grapes and pepper, interesting combination. Once brewed the aroma has a more vegetal sweetness and maybe some seaweed notes. The first sip came off a little bitter, but after drinking some more I think it's more of a sharpness. There is a dry green grape flavor, but it comes off as more grassy than sweet. Definitely a very green, vegetal tea. I do also get the floral notes in the finish, it reminds me a little of jasmine but not as strong. This was an interesting multilayered tea. I always enjoy getting to try an unflavored tea with the CommuniTEA, it's nice to be able to appreciate all the tea flavors without anything added.

For me, this Hunan Gold tea was definitely green - dry, grassy flavor. It was also light and airy in color and taste but was a bit too astringent for my liking. Normally I don't care to add sweetener to my green tea so don't know if that may have mellowed out this cup. Just ok for me.

This tea is excellent, I am loving the floral finish especially. The scent in the cup is also lovely. This is the type of green I can get behind. It does have some astringency, so I will probably try cutting back the brewing time since I did 180F for 3 minutes.

Enjoying with the CommuniTEA today:
subtle apricot nuances wafting from the dry ingredients and packet. Once steeped for 2 mins at 185° F, I notice a pale golden color with subtle toasted apricot notes in my cup. When I take a sip, I experience subtle, but complex oxidized apricot scented tea. I have tried this tea several times and can attest that it can be a little bit finicky and has been too oxidized for my liking at times. It should not be over steeped or subjected to boiling water. Today's packet is subtle and yummy.

I imagined a racetrack flag girl running out with two yellow flags waving them in a downward pattern when I opened my CommuniTEA packet today. As a black tea drinker, I took this seriously and brewed and sipped cautiously. As it turned out, this was a delicious green tea I could enjoy with my black tea palate. The flag warning was heeded, though, when it came to brewing.
3g / 2 full tsp of rolled or twisted green and pale yellow tea leaves fell into my IngenTEA. Their aroma was at once fresh toasty grass. I brewed 12 oz. at the green tea temp. of 175F for a little less than 3 min. The golden liquor with a slightly green hue had a gentle vegetal scent to the nose and almost the same in taste upon first sip. I liked the flavor, though. It seemed spritely, slightly vegetal with a savory hint and a gently spicy aftertaste that when tasted chilled had more of a floral note at the finish. This tea will have you going around in circles to describe it. In the end, I liked the taste plain and had no desire to sweeten it. Even my sweet tooth backed off.
There was no bitterness but I perceived a slight astringency because of a dry mouthfeel I had. This tea, chilled, was tasty too and I enjoyed a resteep of 8 oz. for less time, about 2 min. and went for a third steep using 4 oz. of water. I really liked this one and found myself sipping and sipping until it was gone. It was palate-cleansing, refreshing, and compulsively drinkable. Whether it's a green or a yellow tea, it truly bridges the green and black tea worlds for me and is a keeper. Maybe this is a good entry green for those who don’t want to taste grassy fields but instead, a gentle savory tea with nuances of spicy floral at the finish.

175 degrees for 2 minutes. Bright scents of fresh cut grass greeted me upon opening the package.
I admit, I didn't drink the first steep of this tea. It was overly bitter and astringent at 3 minutes, so I resteeped for 2 minutes, resulting it a lighter brew. Yet, it's still making my tongue curl. I do like the light vegetal flavor with the soft floral finish, but overall, a bit too astringent for me.

I'll preface this by saying, I love green tea. All green tea. And this one is no exception. It's very light, but still has the grassiness that I love in a green tea. I detected no bitterness, but it definitely astringency. This is a great tea for green tea lovers.

This is the stuff my tea dreams are made of. I love unadulterated teas straight from the source. There is something about tasting the purity and quality of the tea that I enjoy. I used to be very into wine tasting until my tummy said I had to knock that off on the regular so tea tasting of this variety fulfills my obsession with learning about terroir, growing conditions, etc. and how it affects the tea we drink. This tea is light in mouthfeel and color but tastes of stone fruits and almost a hint of jasmine on the back end. It has a lovely floral nose. As the sage Jim R. would say, 'This is a three steeper and a keeper!'. I would definitely stock this one in my tea closet for a day when I could do contemplative and slow sipping. Love it! Happy Sipping!

To vote 'liked it' is more an understatement. I let my daughters taste it. My oldest asked to drink the rest, so my tea leaves are currently in its second steeping. The tea is light and still produces a grassy taste but not a strong grassy taste for me. Grassy is always welcomed in my house.

This is a nice light green tea that seems like a good choice for spring. It almost feels like I'm drinking new growth. I noticed some mild grassy notes, but they were acceptable. I'm looking forward to a second steep with a little honey added.

I was so excited to see a plain green tea in today's CommuniTEA packet since I love trying unflavored teas. This is the first yellow tea I've tried and what a treat! It's really different from other green teas.
This is a hard tea to describe. It's light yet flavorful, more floral-forward than grassy, yet the grassy-undertones are still apparent, especially as it cools. What is unique to me is the mouth feel. It has a dry finish that almost makes me pucker, similar to the feeling you get after a dry white wine. And the flavor lingers after the last sip. I typically drink green tea plain, but I'm going to add a touch of honey to my second steep as I think the sweetness will elevate this tea to a new level.
I used the 175 green tea setting on my kettle and steeped for 2.5 minutes for the first steep.

Lovely green aroma emits from the CommuniTea packet. The curled leaves open and swim as they steep into a light golden color. Ahhh, an elegant green tea, light, floral, and ever so slightly fruity. The astringency is strong, but leaves my mouth feeling clean and fresh. Adding ¼ teaspoon of Truvia sweetener (to 10 oz) brings out more of the quiet fruitiness making this a delicious green tea, with all the healthy antioxidant goodness. This steeps many times. (3 mins @ 180ºF + sweetener).

I will say right up front that I am NOT a fan of most green teas - I don't like the grassy, vegetal taste that they have.
But this was in my CommuniTea box for today, so I figured I'd give it a try.
This tea is smooth and almost fruity, like the description says, with a floral finish. There's a hint of that green grassiness, but it's not overwhelming, and the flavor is complex and delicious.
I brewed it on the 'green tea' setting of my kettle, which is 175F, and barely got my teabag out of my mug in time (i'm a chronic forgetter of teabags.) I think any longer and it would have gone bitter, but it worked out this time. This tastes like a tea that will stand up to multiple steepings, as well.
