Sadly, I did not like this at all. Too earthy tasting for me. Will keep it on hand in case people request a green tea.
The large twisted "yellow tea" leaves brew to a lovely golden yellow color. It has soft, airy notes and a dry, crisp, fruity character.

Great flavour and one of my go-to teas in the morning.
Amazing light green with a natural sweetness that had me wanting more.
Jul 9th, 2025: Cold brewed, this is a light, definitely grassy green, that lends to a nice sip as is, or softly sweetened.
Oct 17th, 2023: Clearly I like an bit of a earthy tea, with ever so slight subtle undertones. While the brew appears light, the taste is just right in my book.
This tea was too light for me. I did two steeps - the first for 4 minutes and the second for about 10 and both times there was a hint of a vegetal taste, but that was it. Even adding a packet of Splenda didn't help other than to sweeten the water.
If someone told me they didn't like green teas due to grassy or strong vegetal notes this would be the one I would give them. The beauty of this tea I believe is in the lightness of the vegetal notes. It is present, but not overbearing. The other amazing feature of this tea is the texture. It has a sort of creamy texture that makes it a very nice calm cup and that texture remains even after the first steep. Nice mellow green tea. 180° 3 min both steeps.
Admittedly a bit too dry and bitter for my tastes, especially for a green tea, but still enjoyable to try for something different.
Great smell, great green tea taste, good both hot or cold. This is perfect infused with fruit as well. I like it
This is a nice smooth and drinkable green tea with an almost oolong like floral flavor. Interesting.
CommuniTEA sample: 2 min @ 180 F, second infusion for 3 min @ 180 F. Normally I really like unflavored green teas, but I think this one is just too subtle for me. It's not bad, but it's very light. Not much aroma, not much flavor, very light and body. It's a little bit sweet, kind of like honey, a little bit astringent, I can see how it compares to Darjeeling. But, it's just not enough flavor for me.
Pleasant green tea without being overly vegetal or grassy. Nice aroma and taste; can be a little light and is definitely not overpowering.
The color it brews to and the taste are more like an oolong. It's not my preference, but might be for others. I prefer Sencha over this one.
A light more mellow tea - a bit of a grassy taste to me. It was not my favorite but I know that is a personal preference. CT 8/8/24
I found this tea to be rather bitter, I’d definitely recommend steeping it for the lesser amount of time. I can’t say I’d get this again; even taking away the bitterness, there just wasn’t much flavor.
This one was a little strange for me. From what I have read, yellow yeas were typically served exclusively to emperors of china. However, I found this one to be exceptionally bitter and off-putting...
A very good green tea for sitting back and relaxing with! Sweet subtle floral notes, and a good mouthfeel. Don’t let it get too cold though, or the bitterness increases!
It’s pleasant ; astringent and light green-tea vibes. Steeped a minute too long but still have to say to me it didn’t taste much like anything
I didn't care for the smell of the tea dry. It smelled the same while brewing. Luckily, it did taste a little better than it smelled. Still, I wouldn't take a second cup.
This unique, rare tea defies being grouped into any tea family, as it forms a 'single tea' category of its own - not black, not green, not white - it is a special 'yellow' tea. Count your rank as being royal when you sip this buttery brew.
Absolutely love this green tea. It brews a beautiful golden color and it’s you really good!
I feel very mixed on this one and need to try it a few more times. Most of the reviews are mixed but some match my experience. It smelled sweet and lightly minerally in the bag. The flavor was heavily mineral and instant astringent but still sweet. It was not bitter or spicy like a few said but it also wasn't floral and fruity. The flavor at room temp was still minerally astringent but now vegetal aftertaste. I started a new batch from the beginning with a bit less tea leaves than I used before. The flavor is the same but more mellow and still instantly astringent.
This tea has such a softness to it. It's like the white tea of green teas with its more delicate nature. The flavor was like a slight vegetal flavor with a light floral undertone.
super delicious green tea! its nice and light but has a tasty hint of sweetness to it
Pretty good tea today. Nice sip without much distinct flavor.
CommuniTEA portion: 180 for 2-1/2 minutes. Fantastic green tea. Not grassy in the least. Straightforward and yum!
This tea was just alright for me. It was a bit to grassy tasting for me personally.
It as ok but light in flavor. Not my cup of tea.☕️🫖
8 oz, 2 mins @ 180* F, with sweetener
This isn't a bad tea, just not one I'd choose as it's a touch too vegetal for my taste buds.
This is a very light green tea that is nevertheless complex. The grassy notes that I generally dislike are minimal and for once I actually tasted the spicy finish that other reviewers mentioned. It’s a nice build in flavor.
Smooth butter green tea. Beautiful pale yellow color. Delicious without sweetener.. It has a mild natural sweetness. Very soothing.
This is good with its earthy tones perfect for fall. It warms me up this evening.
This is a lovely, mild, “yellow” tea! I enjoyed every sip of all 3 steeps of the leaves that opened up completely in my tea maker. I’m very happy that I have a sample package so that I can drink some more!
Beautiful color, light sweet taste with no acidity detected. Delightful cupful.
This tea was good. But, it didn’t wow me so I will not be purchasing it.
Its light and smooth. I brewed at 180 for 2.5 minutes. I didn't notice much astringency and the grassy-ness is light in this green tea. I added a bit of sugar.
This is a light and buttery tasting green tea with mild grassy notes. I brewed this at 165F for less than 2 minutes and had multiple steeps.
teas like this always have this herbal, melon-y aftertaste to me, im still getting used to it haha
Golden Glory! 💛 A tea which needs no additives. Perfect straight up! Very Darjeeling-esque!
Very good tea, light and sweet. I did over seep, making it a little bitter, but I enjoyed the whole cup.
A very mellow tea, nice as a palate cleanser but does not stand out in the crowd of similar teas.
This tea could be considered a light green tea. It has many of the qualities of a green tea, but in a milder form. It's almost grassy, but not quite. It has a little astringency, but not much. Overall, a very pleasant sip.
very astringent and grassy in aroma and taste. No fruity taste or aroma. This is a definite no for me. Dumped it!
This is a smooth and delicious straightforward tea.
I had no idea until recently that yellow tea even existed. The color is nice in the cup. The taste is not as grassy as many green teas are. I found the flavor to be quite fruity and there is no strong astringency. I can’t find anything negative to say about this tea. I am putting it on my wishlist.
Very light tea, not overly grassy, I did add just a little bit of amber rock sugar for just a touch of sweetness. Very refreshing after all the heavier blends and flavored teas. However, I also don't note anything noteworthy. Just a simple lovely light green tea.
I open my communiTEA package to the smell of this green tea with a slightly floral aroma. The tea brews to a pretty golden green color. The flavor is light, slightly fruity and a soft floral finish. It truly has Darjeeling quality. I added a 1/8 tsp of honey and it enhance the floral and fruity flavors. I really enjoy this tea and it's definitely on my wish list.
This was a subtle, clean green tea. Its flavour is more akin to hay than grass, making it more palatable to me. The mouthfeel is very smooth and I enjoyed this green more than most. Steeped 2 min @ 175º.
I enjoyed this tea - light flavor more grassy/astringent than fruity to me. Fragrance pleasant. Easy to drink but at same time a bit plain. Flavor strong enough for two steeps without an issue.
Light and a bit earthy with some vegetal notes--zucchini, possibly. I prefer more assertive greens but this is good.
Somewhere between a green and white tea is a good descriptor. Light and mellow this left a slightly dry mouthful and overall was ok but not my thing.
