Today's CommuniTEA is Earl Grey Green (1-17-23). Upon opening my packet, I had a decent amount of each ingredient. I brewed it hot with some orange peels and tupelo honey. It was more bitter than I would've preferred, but I ultimately finished the cup. I have no idea if it was the oranges, or maybe I steeped it too long, or if it's just a bitter tea. I did like it other than the bitterness and I would recommend it if you like Earl Greys! Just be cautious with steeping it to avoid the bitterness.

I really liked this tea. I think I'm getting on with Earl Grey much better this year. It nice and smooth & light in this green version. **This tea was good. I like Earl Grey when they are combined with something else. Straight Earl Grey is a little too much for me. I would keep this one on hand for someone that likes Earl Grey or Green Tea to try. It's interesting. I liked the 2nd brew more, it was lighter.

I like the tea, but it doesn't taste much like Earl Grey due to its mildness. To me, it brings soft lemon-lime flavoring to mind. It's amazing how a different tea base (green versus black) can affect flavor so much. When I initially 'found' Adagio, I thought many of the black teas were too strong and favored the alternative of a green Grey. Funny how further tastings change perceptions over time. :)

Just okay. An Earl Grey flavor without the heaviness of a black tea. Kind of bitter. I sampled this Tea as part of the CommuniTEA September box.
Update: I liked this one better this time. Made a green tea earl grey latte and got some matcha vibes without the mess of powder and bamboo whisk.
I sampled this tea as part of the CommuniTea January 2023 box.

When I opened my CommuniTEA packet, I was overwhelmed by the aroma of bergamot. I did detect a hint of the vegetal green tea aroma as well. I steeped the tea for 3 minutes and it produced a beautiful light yellow cup of tea. Since I'm a huge earl grey tea fan, I loved the taste of this tea! The bergamot was very prominent and I didn't really taste much of the green tea. I would definitely order this again in the future!

A light bergamot and flavorful Earl Grey option.

If you like green teas this is a great option if you are looking for something a little different. Just like a black earl grey but with a lighter green tea background

Tea leaves smelled nice. Steeped at 175F for 3 minutes. For lack of a better phrase, it just tastes 'green' with a very vague 'orange' aftertaste that'll be missed if you blink. It's a pass for me.

I was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed this blend. I drink earl grey frequently so I thought that the green tea would detract from how much I liked the tea. I really liked the strong bergamot flavor. I had been worried that the whole flavor would be muted. It is lighter than a traditional blend but still with plenty of flavor. I steeped at 185 for 2 min and sweetened with sugar.

I think of this tea as Earl Grey Light. It shares the bergamot flavor with it’s black tea cousin, but the flavor of the green tea is not as pronounced as the black tea. I have long preferred green teas over black teas so I was eager to taste how green tea paired with bergamot. I was quite pleased with the combination. Steeping at the recommended 180°F for 3 minutes. A practically perfect cup of tea to me.

This is definitely an enjoyable Earl Grey Cuppa. Not my Fav iteration of Earl Grey..still an enjoyable cup. But if you like a Green & you like EG..go for it, Bergamot Beast!

This is a lovely earl grey tea that's a little lighter than the rest thanks to its green tea base. I'm not sure if it's because of the green tea or not, but the bergamot and orange flavors taste a bit more natural in this blend, giving it a pleasant, refreshing flavor. This would be the blend I would recommend to people trying out earl grey for the first time as it's lighter flavor is a much easier venture than some of the blends with much stronger, perfume-y profiles to them.

A delightful and gentle tea - the bergamot pairs absolutely beautifully with the green tea, and the soft fragrance is perfect for a rainy morning!

Loved it! I'm a huge earl grey fan, but moreso just a bergamot fan. The more bergamot, usually the better. This had a nice bergamot flavor, so I've found a new favorite! :)

This is my first time trying an Earl Grey Green Tea and I loved it. I am already a huge fan of classic Earl Grey but this was a nice change.

Pleasant cup of tea. A nice mix of the Earl Grey and green/vegetal flavors. Not an every day tea for me but liking this more than I thought I would.

UPDATED from 10/9/22: There is a lovely orange aroma emitting from the CommuniTEA packet. It steeps into a lovely light pale yellow tea. Luckily the bergamot is taking the day off with each steeping of this blend. Adding ¼ teaspoon of sweetener (to 10 oz) helps bring out the orange flavor more.. Not being a fan of Earl Grey, this is one I really enjoy. What a delicious, green tea - the balance is perfect, and the blue cornflowers add a little something extra. The green tea is predominant, it's as if the Earl has decided to be healthy, and has embraced this beneficial green! How Delightful! (3 mins @ 180ºF + sweetener).

I’m always down for an Earl grey tea. The flavor was very light in this one, but it wasn’t replaced by any noticeable typical green tea flavor. Not a bad tea, but not amazing either.

This is almost everything I dislike in a single tea. Green and Earl Grey all at once. Not for me.

In the bag: Almost entirely the roughly chopped, dark green leaves of tea. Two slender, small pieces of orange rind. A few scattered, tiny blue cornflowers.
On the nose (pre-steep): Bergamot is loud, proud, and joined by his orange sidekick. The slightest scent of musty grass hides behind our leading duo. Overall, an intense flavor.
On the nose (post-steep): The steep has calmed the Earl's court. The bergamot and orange are now well balanced by the grassy green scent. Medium intensity.
On the tongue (pre-sweetener): Profile is similar to the post-steep scent. No bitterness.
On the tongue (post-sweetener): No change in overall profile, but the sweetness compliments the bergamot and orange.
Opinion: A pleasant and balanced tea. I daresay I enjoy this version of the Earl better than its classic incarnation, but I would need to taste them side by side to be sure.
Preparation: 2.5 min @ 175 ℉, ½ tsp monk fruit sweetener

I'm not the biggest earl grey fan but I can say the mix with green tea actually made for a decent blend. They mellow each other our so neither one of them overwhelms the other.

Three stars only because although I’m enjoying it I’m not sure I’d buy it. The lavender is very strong for me and I’m not getting any orange as I have seen other reviewers talk about. It would offer a nice balance perhaps. Overall the green tea is nice and mild in the finish.

I didn’t think that this sounded like it would be good. Surprisingly the floral notes in Earl Grey compliment the green tea base very nicely. I steeped at 180 degrees for 2-1/2 minutes and added a little raw honey for green teas. I got a weaker second steep as well with much less bergamot flavors.

I'm not a big Earl Grey fan and bought this to try it for a blend. It overpowered the blend and I can't say I enjoyed the tea. So I have to give Adagio kudos for making something unique, but it's not going to be one of my favorites and I already gave away the rest of the sample bag.

Very nice, light flavor. Not over powering at all which some earl greys can be. Let it steep a little longer for better flavor.

This is the smoothest earl grey ever! Great wake to wake up the day everyday. Enough caffeine to get you going without the jitters.

This review is based on a friends point of view. I gave this EG green to her since she loves green tea. She says it was very light and refreshing and was similar to a lemongrass.

This has become one of my favorites. Not a strong Earl grey but nice and smooth. I don't always want a strong Earl grey. I don't even add any lemon, it's perfect as is.

Delicious flavor, enjoy the bergamot on a green tea. Delicious hot or cold. Earl Grey is a favorite and a lovely variant of this tea style.

an amazingly floral and citrusy tea.
regular earl grey seems tame compared to the flavor of earl grey green! the subtlety of the green tea really lets the bergamot flavor shine, without the bitterness of black tea. delicious!

The green tea pairs well with the bergamot-- there's a brighter citrus flavor and it's lighter than the black tea counterpart. Refreshing when cold and good for multiple steeps, though the bergamot seems to fade a little on subsequent steeps.

I love the bergamot that comes thru with early greys & this is a nice soft version with the green tea insteadnof a black tea

This had all the bad parts of earl grey without any of the good parts of green tea. Way too overpowering.

This was absolutely delicious as a cold-brewed green tea, slightly lighter, easier with the caffeine, but still bold as heck with that classic earl grey taste. I'd recommend it to any earl grey fan.

Exactly as described. Grassy and citrusy with a nice hit of bergamot.
