CommuniTEA Review 9/22: This brews up to a deliciously lush caramel and cream brew with intoxicating aromas. I wouldn't mind a little more of the green tea to come through the flavors but overall it's nicely balanced.
Gently smoky gunpowder combined with bright tangy apples and rose hips, bring to mind a misty morning stroll.

This tea is smokey and gently spiced. I like it, but the smokey taste is a little overbearing. I could only drink one cup of this.
I love sweet, caramel, warm spice flavors, so this one is right up my alley.
Cinnamon and creme brulee combine for a smooth, sticky-sweet sip. Just as the sweetness is about to become overwhelming, tart apple and smoky, fruity gunpowder flavors peek through, balancing everything perfectly. This one will be great to savor as the weather cools!
This has a lot of the sweet flavors of fall! The creme brulee and apple were the most prominent to almost give a caramel apple flavor while the rest of the notes were more background helping to give a more depth of flavor to the whole thing. Definitely worth trying if you like sweeter teas!
The packet smelled chocolatey to me and I was worried how that would play with the green tea. But when steeped, it mellows into a caramel cream taste that is lovely with the green tea. I don’t get so many of the grassy notes that I usually dislike in green tea and there’s a cinnamon aftertaste that is really nice. I will probably be getting more of this.
Delicious. A perfect cozy tea for autumn. Definitely on the dessert side, as it’s very naturally sweet.
Love this one. One of the best teas this month so far in the CommuniTea box. Smells of apple creme brulee and it tastes that way too. Love the dessert and this tea takes me there.
Oct 2022 review: This time I brewed the tea for a minute longer and got a more layered flavor from it. Flavors are primarily a sweet creaminess that reminds me of maple over a background of the gunpowder green. Due to having a cold I'm probably missing some of the flavor nuances! The tea was nice without additions but I also enjoyed it with sugar, leaning more into the dessert notes. It's an enjoyable cup that I would be happy to drink if offered, but it won't be jumping onto my wishlist. (4 mins @ 180)
Oct 2021 review: This tea was fine but doesn't really stand out for me. I primarily tasted maple cream flavor (although there is no maple in this tea). I think it may have needed a longer steep than the recommended 3 minutes because most of the leaves had not yet sunk at that point and the green tea flavors didn't really come out much in my cup. The creme flavoring gives this a very smooth and creamy mouthfeel. (3 mins @ 180)
CommuniTEA portion: Steeped at 180 for 3 minutes. Well this sip is even better than I thought it would be! Lovely green (gunpowder is my OG) with caramely and vanilla notes that mimicked almost maple to me. Smooth and flavorful but not overpowering in the least. Yummy Thumbs Up!
Adagio's description belies this tea. It hardly has a 'hint' of creme brulee. Creme brulee flavoring easily dominates the cup. The subtle smokiness of the gunpowder tea enhances the caramelized sugar quality of the creme brulee notes while a slight butteriness (most likely also from the gunpowder) creates a creamy feel. Occasionally one picks up on a little tart twist from the rosehips, and on the second steep the creme brulee backs off enough that the cinnamon is noticeable, but overall this cup is creme brulee all the way. This flavoring overshadows most other ingredients in this tea; even dry, the most obvious scent is maple - but not good maple, more like the artificial buttery aroma of no-longer-Aunt-Jemima's pancake syrup. It's a pleasant enough sip, but the creme brulee flavor is just too assertive for me. (3 mintues @ 175F)
The scent out of the packet is what you'll taste when you drink this tea - caramel-ly, vanilla-y, sweet. I don't taste anything else that is in this mix; apples, cinnamon, rose hips, rose, and marigold are all lost in service to the creme brulee. This is not necessarily a bad thing if you really like creme brulee, but the flavor is much less complex than I would have expected from the list of ingredients.
I've always wanted to try this tea and was excited for it today! It's definitely got a great fall-feeling without being stereotypical fall flavors. I loved the creamy aftertaste. I added a touch of sugar to bring out the flavoring but then kind of regretted it - it didn't seem to really bring out the creme brulee flavoring, but also muted the flavor of the green tea.
Cozy cup of creme brulee smoothness, this is one of my favorite fall teas!
I was not prepared for this tea. First, I couldn't imagine this combination. Green tea and cinnamon/creme brulée? Um, ok... Then the aroma out of the packet made me do a double-take. It smelled like maple candy and no grassy/earthy greenness at all. Then on the palate, it was just lovely. More delicate than it smelled, and not as cloying as I expected. The gunpowder gave the tea a lightness that I didn't think would work, but was a really nice compliment to the combined flavours. I think gunpowder was a great choice for this blend.
Before even opening the packet, I could smell the lovely aroma of Crème Brulee through the packet. This aroma made me think of caramel.
I added 1.5 tsp of tea sugar to my 12 oz mug as I waited for my tea water to reach 185° F. I steeped my tea for 3 minutes.
For the first time, I really feel like I understand what a “smooth mouthfeel” actually is. I found this tea to have a pleasantly smooth mouthfeel with a lovely creamy aftertaste that lingers. This tea had a sweet creamy, caramel taste that I very much enjoyed.
OMG, delightful. Such a wonderful sweet nose. I was preparing for a let down as the tea could not possibly taste as good as it smelled. Well I was pleasantly wrong.
Recommended steeped; 3 minutes at 180°F. I steeped for the recommended at the recommended time at 185°F in 11oz of water with 1.5 tsp of tea/rock sugar. My teapot doesn’t have a 180°F setting.
I was really unsure as to how I was going to feel about this tea. Smoky gunpowder, or smoky anything for that matter, and I usually don’t get along. I’m not a big fan of smoky teas. Still, I thought I’d give it a try since I have been surprised by Adagio on several occasions.
I have to say that this blend smells amazing upon opening it. I’m pretty sure what was coming through so strongly was butterscotch, and I love butterscotch. That’s promising.
Everything seemed to present in my packet, as far as I could tell.
The first sip tasted like butterscotch...Yum! Maybe that’s the crème brulee? Whatever it is, it’s delicious, and it gets even better as it cools. Smooth and flavorful. What a wonderful surprise! This one is definitely going into my tea stash. 5 stars.
There did not seem to be much flavour, I noticed a very slight cinnamon flavour when I looked for it...
UPDATED from 10/21/21: The tea steeps into a light golden yellow color. Still delicious, so last year’s review is spot on. The aroma is shockingly sweet when opening the packet. This Gunpowder green tea has a very strong vanilla & cream aroma before and after brewing. No rose petals present (good), no distinct cinnamon flavor, and the apples & marigolds must be helping to support the creme brulee flavoring. While drinking, the gunpowder astringency was present, but so mellowed and balanced with the creme brulee, that it did not need additional sweetener. There is a smooth mouthfeel as the green tea’s astringency lingers in the finish. As it cools, it remains a delightful tea. For the second steep I added a small amount of honey, (½ teaspoon for 8 oz) which did not take away any of the flavors, but smoothed out the astringency some, and then lingered in the finish. What a surprisingly yummy green tea, with moderate caffeine, and can be steeped at least two times well! (3 mins @ 180ºF + sweetener).
This tea has a strong aroma of butterscotch and a delightful flavor of Créme brûlée. I love Créme brûlée and I love this tea.
I wanted to drink more green tea for health reasons but I'm not a big fan of the grassy taste of green. So I decided to try the autumn mist. I love it! So soft and delicate, no grassy taste. Perfect for a quiet cup of lovely tea on a fall afternoon. Thanks Adagio.
I loved this blend! A nice caramel flavor, though I didn't taste any smoky flavors or any cinnamon. I highly suggest this, a nice cozy way to wake up. (2 tsp sugar)
One of the best teas I have tried. The creme brulee flavor is the most noteworthy part, which is totally fine with me - I wish it was an ingredient in more teas on Adagio. Definitely worth stocking up on.
Love the taste it is a family favorite. I will definitely be buying again
I really enjoyed this one. Perfect light tea for fall weather.
One of my favorite teas from Adagio! I got a pack of it last winter through reward points and I regretted that I didn t try it sooner. Sweet, caramel flavors are the first thing to hit my palate, followed by a bit of fruity tang and richness. So good with or without sugar, and I d venture to say it d make an amazing HK style milk tea.
Delicious tea that tastes like fall its very fragrant and enjoyable
You can smell the creme brulee before you even open the bag. It's actually a nice, comforting smell and I would use it as potpourri if I didn't want to drink it, it's just very strong for a tea. The first steeping is, unsurprisingly, overpoweringly maple. It's not unpleasant, just unbalanced. However, I found that the second steeping was MUCH better. You can better taste the gentle smokiness of the gunpowder, and hints of tanginess from the apple and rosehips. The remaining traces of creme brulee gives it a bit of a sweet, vanilla finish. It's a really beautiful, mellow tea and one of my favorites. I just caution everyone to try two steepings before writing it off!
This is my absolute favorite tea to drink when I travel. It is delicious.
By far my favorite green tea. I bought a huge bag so I can have it in the off seasons too!
I LOVE THIS TEA. It truly has everything I love in a green tea, and the flavor is wonderful. 1000/10!
This tea is so unique! It's smoky and creamy and a little sweet. I really enjoy this tea! It also works great to curb a sweet tooth.
I love this tea!! I have given it to a few family members and now they love it!!
It's ok! I don't generally like smoky teas but I love the autumn fruits. This one balances both. A little more smoky than I love, but it's good as an occasional brew.
It is good but not too much of a fan. It taste pretty much like cremè brûlée slightly with a strong green tea taste.
Perfect tea for a winter night. Green tea has so many health benefits.
Well hello new favorite seasonal blend. This is just absolutely delicious, like drinking creme brulee. I honestly can't add anything that hasn't already been written, this tea has inspired literal poetry. Seriously, someone left a haiku review.
Three stars for me mean that the tea is OK, or is a special circumstance tea. I found that Autumn Mist Green is more a tea I would have if I wanted a dessert tea. The crème brûlée flavor was very pronounced for me, and combined with the cinnamon, was overpowering the other flavors for me.
I would recommend this tea if you want a savory tea with the benefits of green tea.
Very sweet creamy flavor overpowers most everything else, but lovely as a dessert tea
I love this tea so much! It has quickly become one of my everyday favorites!
I've waited a few months to review this one. I gave it a try when I first ordered it, didn't like it, and haven't touched it since. Today, I sat down to finally write the review, and decided I should probably have another cup to refresh my memory.
This cup is definitely better than I remember - okay, bordering on good. The smell coming from the tea leaves themselves is STRONG. That creme brulee flavoring is not messing around. While several reviews mention caramel scent/flavor, it actually reminds me more of butterscotch. I don't really like butterscotch, and I think that's the root of my struggle to like this tea. I love gunpowder green, vanilla, cinnamon, rose... But that butterscotchy-flavor just isn't a favorite for me.
This is a weird and highly specific note, but you know how, when fall hits, all the stores churn out a whole bunch of autumn-scented candles, and there's inevitably a fall-themed baked goods candle in the batch? This tea tastes like drinking that scent. If you love those candles, you will likely love this tea, but it's not for me.
(Steeped at 175° for 2 minutes, 30 seconds)
I tried this because of the reviews. Maybe I used too much, but taste more like a black tea instead of a green tea.
This has to be one of my favorite green tea mashups I’ve tried yet.

This was disappointing. It tastes okay, but mostly like a generic sweet-creaminess. The worst thing about this is the smell! It's got this sickly sweet artificial smell that permeates the whole apartment.
Not bad, but the creme brulee flavor really overpowered everything else. I think it'd be better without, or maybe with just creme flavor.
Green tea with a personality. Great for an afternoon pick-me-up.
This fall was the second year I've purchased this tea. What a great afternoon blend on a shortening fall day. The gunpowder tea is sweetened with the creme brulee flavor to give me the general feeling of eating a toasted marshmallow while sitting next to bonfire. It's a good green for a kick of toasty nostalgia, without having to over indulge.
Smells really good. Tastes okay. Not sure if I'm the right person to judge though as I am trying to be more open to green teas.
