Definitely one of the top 5 teas I've tried from Adagio! SO GOOD. It's got a deep, dark chocolate flavor, with a lighter, sweeter strawberry flavor in the background. Delicious with sweetener and a splash of milk! It's basically dessert :)

oh, valentines tea, how i love you! let me count the ways. you can mix this with a spicier tea to get like a nice spiced chocolate taste. and by itself, you don't even need sugar, it's just sweet. a

Opening the bag of this made my mouth absolutely water. The smell of dark chocolate hits your nose right away, and as a dark chocolate addict I could not have been more excited. Even after brewing it still smelled divine in the cup. Unfortunately the chocolate flavors definitely mellow once brewed, which was a teeny bit disappointing for me since. Still a very lovely tea. I found sugar brings out the flavors of this tea much more prominently, and that the strawberry flavors come through as more of an aftertaste. I don't really taste the rose petals, which may be a good thing because I have a hard time with rose flavored teas! I have found that it's really ridiculously easy to oversteep and it become really bitter and not that enjoyable if you do, so make sure to watch out for that!

★★★☆☆

This is kind of nice! I've been going through a serious chocolate tea phase, and I like the way the fruit balances the chocolate in this. But I do thing it could have more of the bitter cocoa flavor. I always like things flavored with cocoa nibs more than the chocolate chip taste.

★★★★★

Whoa...it really surprised me how accurate this tea's flavor is to a real chocolate covered strawberry!O.O I should have had this on Valentine's day!>:(

This sample was a very kind gift, but I really do not have a sweet tooth, and this tea is not delicious without sugar. It actually is strange even sweetened. I love strawberries, rose tea, and dark chocolate, but this just wasn't good.

★★★★★

this tea smells like heaven (strawberries and a lot of chocolate) both in the bag and steeped in a cup. tastes a little fainter, but still good.

★★★★★

I love this blend, I really do. Compared to 'Love Petals', this is just the right balance of chocolate and berry flavors.

★★★★★

This tea was really good. It has a nice chocolate smell and has a hint of strawberry.

★★☆☆☆

tastes just like you'd expect valentines to taste, which is unfortunate. dont know what I was expecting!

★★★★★

I'm not personally a big fan of strawberries, but I absolutely /loved/ this tea. It tastes exactly like a chocolate-dipped strawberry, smells fantastic in the bag- really anyone who likes tea and wants something slightly strawberry like (but no over powering) with that smooth taste of chocolate- get this tea.

★★★☆☆

This dessert tea was ok wasn't bad wasn't good I definitely didn't like the aroma of the tea it tasted better than it smelled.

★★★☆☆

Good tea, but not the best. There was something about it that I just didn't like. Maybe the chocolate taste? Worth a shot though!

★★★☆☆

I'll be honest, this was ok but it wasn't great. I'm not a huge fan of chocolate teas. I think I might like it better with milk. Yeah. I'll just try it with milk.

★★★★☆

This blend was sweet and playful with a bit of sensuality. The chocolate can be a bit overbearing at times so I would not recommend making it overly strong, but this is a wonderful tea.

★★★★☆

The taste is strongest of chocolate, with hints of strawberry. It doesn't overpower the tea flavor, instead meshing really well.

★★★☆☆

There are a lot of different notes to this tea. I really picked up on the hints of chocolate and strawberry. It's a very rich and specific flavor so I've found it's good for now and then, when I'm looking to jazz up my morning routine or if I'm craving something sweet.

★★★☆☆

Was good. Not bitter. But, the rosebud and chocolate flavors are strong or maybe I'm just too familiar with them. I guess I thought it was a pretty mixture (would be a lovely gift in some homemade bags or glass jar), but the taste was boring.

★★★☆☆

Definitely not a tea I'd drink on a regular basis but a nice occasional dessert-like treat.

★★☆☆☆

I did not care for this tea at all and was expecting so much more as I like Ceylon. I am thinking the darker the tea the less fruit I want in it..while the whites and greens taste better with fruity in it. I wish Adagio would make a Peppermint Patty tea..just what it is..chocolate and mint black tea. I have had this at tea shops. The strawberry was harsh in this and the chocolate did not fare well. I will go back to my real strawberries dipped in chocolate for the real taste.

I knew going into this tea that it was likely not to be my favourite, but I was feeling festive, as I ordered it a week or so prior to valentines day (and ended up getting it at the end of the holiday itself!).

This tea smells (dry) somewhere between very nice and overpowering/false. The strawberry scent helps pull the chocolate scent away from being too reminiscent of the 'hot chocolate' chapstick I remember from when I was a kid.

When steeped, the chocolate scent is dulled to an appropriate level, but it seemed to me that the strawberry scent had also departed with it.

I am not a huge fan of chocolate, and this tea is not an exception. Whereas I enjoyed the Tiger Eye tea and would suggest anyone to try it, this Valentines tea made me feel sick after drinking it, and this was not a novelty of the first cup.

Although I didn't particularly enjoy this tea, I loved the festive, holiday-driven spirit behind it, and it helped spice up an otherwise dull holiday. If you do happen to enjoy chocolate, definitely give this a try, and perhaps you will have better luck with it than I. I will attempt to find a ratio of tea-to-water than perhaps provides a lesser degree of the flavour.

★★★★★

This is a great tea creamy and smooth! One that will be a long time fave!

★★★★☆

this holiday season i got some tea for kathie and i hope it was good the end

★★★★★

This was a great blend of all sorts of great flavors.

★★★☆☆

I just could not get myself to taste this tea. Once I smelled it I gave it to a co-worker who found it to be a very good tea. The smell of chocolate just overpowered my senses, and made impossible for me to taste. Just not for me.

★★★☆☆

Not enough strawberry and too much of the chocolate...The tea was OK but had a strong almost alcohol undertone like you would find in a natural flavoring you would add for baking...

It reminds me a bit of the rose and the candy apple mixed, in both the best and not-so-best ways. I think this one could go astringent FAST, but it's improved a little by milk.

★★★★☆

Pretty good, although I don't prefer sweet teas so it's not really my thing.

★★★★☆

Just as described, this is really a 'dessert tea'. Fairly rich by itself and quite decadent with the addition of cream and sugar. I did find the balance to be a bit off. The rose flavor is also stronger than I expected. Personally I enjoy it more by mixing 2/3 Valentine's to 1/3 hazelnut.

★★★★★

A tea that somewhat matches up to its strong delicious smell, especially when iced. I didn't particularly enjoy it hot myself, but my girlfriend liked it with a little bit of sugar and cream. However, we both love it as a lightly sweetened iced tea. I plan to add this to my tea regimen.

★★★★☆

It smells as good as it tastes! It's pretty sweet though, but amazing with milk.

★★★★★

It smells absolutely wonderful. The taste is milder than the smell , but I think it's better that way. It's a very smooth cup, I added sugar to mine, which made the sweetness of the strawberry really stand out.

★★★★★

Pleasantly surprised. I didn't have high expectations for this tea, but really does taste like chocolate and strawberries, and not fake flavors.

★★★★★

Honestly, how well does Valentines tea fit into the holiday...on a cold February day in Chicago? It's a mixture of chocolate and strawberry and black tea. Truly a heavenly combination. I don't add flavoring or milk. It's perfect just the way it brews. A new favorite of mine.

★★★★★

I love this blend. Chocolate notes and a subtle sweetness from the strawberries makes it a perfect treat without all the calories! The strawberries make it just sweet enough for me that I don't add any additional sweetener, but I don't usually sweeten my hot teas too much. I shared this with a friend yesterday and she loved it too! So I picked up another bag for her today :)

★★★★☆

This is quite yummy. I can taste the strawberry and chocolate flavors but they do not overtake the ceylon, which is nice. The rose petals are subtle and make a nice addition.

★★★★☆

Nice. I like the subtle chocolate and strawberry taste. It wasn't overwhelming. Nice smell too.

★★★★★

Neither my boyfriend or I are too interesting in sweet desserts so I ordered this tea for an after-dinner drink on Valentines Day. It was delicious and an absolutely perfect way to end our evening.

★★★★★

Black tea, chocolate, strawberry, and a hint of rose petal make this a really nice blend. Even without sweetener, it tastes like chocolate covered strawberries.

★★★★★

Truely tastes like your drinking a candy heart box of chocolates. Im not normally a floral tea person, but the rose and strawberry are perfect balance with the chocolate.

Its a perfect dessert tea. I added a little sugar and a splash of milk and it tastes just like a chocolate covered strawberry

★★★★☆

Not something I would like every day, but it definitely suits my idea of a valentine. Like chocolate-covered cherries - rich and dark, and also goes well with chocolate!

★★★★☆

Not really my cup of tea, but my boyfriend loved it so much that he bought three more pounds of it while it was on sale. His favorite Adagio tea. I can't detect the rose and the strawberry is subtle, but the chocolate really stands out.

★★★★☆

My first thought when I tasted this tea was that it tastes just like chocolate covered strawberries. Delicious tea with a perfect name.

★★★★☆

Got it on sale, figured couldn't hurt to give it a try. It's a good tea, not one I'd buy again, probably, the rose petals aren't my cup of tea (no pun intended haha). The smell in the bag is different. Sort of a coffee-chocolate scent, dark and sort of earthy. The taste is mostly chocolate, I didn't really get a hint of the strawberries, but I'll try a couple different time ranges for brewing and change this if I find a sweet spot for it (another no pun intended :) ) This time I just followed the directions on the bag. And speaking of the bag, it's FULL!

★★★★☆

Smells delicious! The taste is a little weaker than the smell which I find to be a good thing since I don't necessarily want to drink chocolate covered strawberries. That being said, this is a pretty good tea.

★★★★★

smells delicious straight out of the bag, and tastes fantastic. really glad i got it on sale so i can enjoy it a bit more often than my various samples.

★★★★★

Really one of the most pleasant chocolate teas I've had! Really lovely!

★★★★★

Gave this as a sample to a friend. She said it smelled like valentines day in the bag...like chocolate roses and a little bit sweet. pretty much what you think a valentines tea would smell like. she said she likes it a lot!

★★★☆☆

This tea is decent, but it smells better than it tastes. You get a bit of strawberry flavor, but very little chocolate. Adding sugar helps a bit, but not enough to really be worth it.
