My favorite! Perfect balance of sweet caramel, tea and chocolate...a great dessert or breakfast treat.
Not nearly as sweet as one would expect from the concept of chocolate-caramel flavored tea. But very yummy. If you really want that sweet-candy-caramel flavor, use a dollop of honey and some whole milk. The flavors are definitely noticeable, and it has that nice deep roastiness common to Adagio chocolate teas, but the flavor of the Ceylon never gets lost. If you like the Ceylon flavor and are looking for variations or enhancements to it, you'll probably enjoy this a lot. If you don't like the actual black tea taste much and were looking for a 'tea' that tastes of liquid candy instead of tea, you will probably be disappointed. For myself, I will be going through that sample pouch pretty quickly!
The caramel is a little mild, but it is pleasant. I drank this cold with sugar and some cream.
This tea has a strong chocolate, almost coffee-like smell that I was unsure about. I found the flavour to be a good mix of chocolate and caramel, but it has a strange, almost bitter aftertaste. Masked with milk and a little sugar, this tea is a nice treat and would be a nice substitute to fancy flavoured coffee drinks.
I wanted to like this tea, but I can hardly taste any chocolate, just caramel with a strange, artificial aftertaste.
Wonderful tea great desert smells amazing too!! add honey and it gets even better.
Maybe it's because I expected the darker notes in this tea to be like the refreshing Pu Erh Hazelberry, but I found the caramel flavor in this tea way too overwhelming to be enjoyable. It was nice as an iced tea, though.
It was pungent and strong. I wouldn't buy it again.
Love Tiger Eye. When I need a chocolate fix, this is my go to tea.
Chocolate and caramel every morning for breakfast!
This tea hit my sweet tooth without being overly artificial tasting. The flavor is well-balanced, and it still carries the weight of a hearty black tea. I like the cream flavor better than this, though.
Wow! Bought this thinking 'what the heck'. I usually go for specific flavors in my tea. This tea is a wondrous mix of flavors. Truly a delight to drink!
This is an interesting tea… It’s smells so wonderful when you open the bag! I would describe the smell as chocolatey, nutty with notes of coffee and maple syrup.
As always, I find that when a tea smells so wonderful, my expectations go up and I usually end up a little disappointed with the taste…
After the first sips I just found it bland and bitter. I have to say that I am one of those who strongly refuses to add sugar or sweeteners to my tea and coffee, but I think that maybe a little sweetness (brown sugar should work well…) can help bringing out the flavors in this one.
Luckily, after a few more sips I started picking a somewhat “walnutty” aftertaste which was really pleasant and after a couple of cups I started actually getting to appreciate it.
Thumbs up overall, but this is not a tea I would like to drink everyday.
This has become my favorite tea. It has a mild chocolate flavor which cures my chocolate craving.
Love this one. Perfect hot anytime of the day. Got the large bag of it this time.
This feels like a rich fancy drink from a coffee shop. Plenty strong enough for a second infusion. The caramel here is subtle and blends well with the chocolate. I think if you enjoy the chestnut, you'll like this one too.
Who doesn't love chocolate and caramel together??!! This tea is the perfect blend of both. I love the way the caramel comes through in this delightful tea. I recommend this tea!!
I wasn't sure I could appreciate a chocolate flavor in tea. You can enjoy both the caramel and chocolate flavors.
I tried this one in the morning as my commute tea. I fixed it strong, and added milk and sweetener. It was like dessert in a cup. I am not a fan of chocolate, but the caramel helps balance this out. It will probably not be my morning tea again, but instead will be used as a quick fix to satisfy my sweet tooth.
This is a great 'cozy day' tea -- delicious aroma AND taste.
oh my god. this tea BLEW me AWAY. i was not expecting to like this tea since ive never liked chocolate flavors in my tea. this changes everything. it really does taste like the tea equivalent of a tigers eye gem, when you drink it, the taste shifts from caramel, to chocolate to vanilla, its really addicting. i love this tea, and a lb is now on my wishlist. it is best hot with cream and sugar.
There are strong caramel and chocolate notes in this tea. The flavors did work well together, they just aren't what I'm looking for in a tea.
It's basically candy in a cup. Ideal with a bit of cream for the first few steepings and black for the last few. It also mixes nicely with earthier black flavors.
I loved this tea. It was like dessert in a cup. Very enjoyable and sweet. I added a little honey!
We've always enjoyed tiger eye tea - a blend of chocolate and caramel. This tea is delicious!
Bit softer on the candy flavor than I expected, has an almost smoky(?) taste.
Has very good taste to it. Will order it again.Like to mix it.
Tiger Eye is one of my 3 Adagio favorites (along with Pu erh Chorange and my blend of the 3 nut flavors). Dessert in a mug! I've found that it's easy to over-steep it, however. If I let it go more than the recommended 3 minutes, or if I stir it while steeping it gets dry or bitter. But when done right it's Oh So Good!
I have been looking for this tea for awhile. It's one of my favourites!
This tea was rather strong, but I enjoyed it a lot. If you're not very used to chocolate in tea, it might not be your favorite, but you never know until you try. Be careful not to oversteep--it's a rather astringent tea.
I love tiger eye in every blend I've tried and the solo tea did not disappoint. It's a wonderful black tea for an early morning. I also love the hints of vanilla and caramel that come through. Would definitely recommend!
Not really my favorite, but not the worst either. The taste just wasn't as chocolaty as expected.
This tea was really good. It had a nice rich flavor.
Really loved this one! I add honey and its like eating candy without the guilt. I just ordered more of this, it is really yummy!
Oh my word, the smell is WONDERFUL. This is a great tea
Not as rich and robust in flavor as I had hoped.
Balanced and sweet, a touch of cream elevates it to heavenly.
This is an excellent dessert tea--though I use the word 'dessert' to simply mean it's sweet enough to be had instead of cake or cookies. I always take my tea with a bit of sugar, and occasionally a little milk, but this tea is certainly sweet on its own. What I like most about it, though, is that it turned out to be my little brother's favorite tea. He asked me to make it for him more than once, which makes my tea-loving heart happy. I'd definitely recommend it for anyone with a sweet tooth, especially if you'd like to have a cup with your favorite kid.
I enjoyed this tea, but the flavors weren't as strong as I was expecting. I definitely like their Valentine's tea more than I like this one, but it was good! I'd probably buy it again, but I don't need it on hand at all times.
Delicious! I could drink this daily in the mornings.
This tea sounded good on paper, but it's really not for me. The caramel flavor felt artificial. I usually like a strong black tea as long as it's not too bitter or astringent, but I thought it tasted foul when strong or overbrewed. The second brew was tolerable, and doctored with milk and honey it was drinkable. I would not purchase this one again. It made me wary of flavored teas that weren't chai or fruity. I'm disappointed, since this is the first tea I've tried from Adagio that wasn't really pleasing.
I love this tea as a mixer (about 50/50), it adds just the right amount of sweetness with a hint of cookies to a standard black.
Good quality tea, without much dust, twigs or broken leaves. Brews strong and reddish. Moderately aromatic with notes of nuts and cocoa.
I like this tea but mostly to blend with other flavors like candy cane!
I agree with the other reviews saying that this has a very coffee feel. The taste is very, very rich, so it's an occasional tea for me. Still, a wonderful indulgence, and something that I'm looking forward to blending.
This tea is absolutely amazing. It is perfect for winter, and has great relaxing qualities!
this is a stop on my way to making the perfect whole30-or other paleo protocol-compliant 'dessert' tea: the taste of what you crave but ought not to have when sugar, dairy, etc are off your menu. i enjoy it a great deal, but find it insufficient for my Grand Plan. that's not to say it isn't fabulous; i love this tea, and it gave me the idea to blend my own. enjoy! (how DO they make that caramel flavor???)
Combo is very turtle-esque, sweet and satisfying. My favorite after lunch perk up blend!
I ordered a sample of this tea and had to go back and order a full bag. It's a slightly sweet tea with a complex chocolatey favor. Great on its own, in my opinion no sweetener or milk is needed.
Good blend of caramel and chocolate. Exactly what I was expecting it to taste like.
